The best restaurants in Tendring East of England

Had a lovely meal from mayflower Chinese last night. Great value for money. Portions were huge and like the fact there's so much choice on the menu. And the value meals are well worth the price. Thank you

Really tasty ,crayfish,beetroot and avocado salad,mamma's pasta and haddock with Thai spices. Michelle was as entertaining as ever !

Located just off the seafront in the old Co-Op building. As ever Wetherspoon’s have maintained some features of the original building- the grand staircase being the centrepiece. Service was fast and efficient, everything you expected when visiting Wetherspoon’s. (We did not stay in the hotel, just visited for food and drinks)

This place is never open which is a real shame because the food is amazing. If you are really hungry choose a different chip shop.

Went for a lamb roast dinner today.and it was amazing.very generous portions.roast potatoes to die for very friendly and fast service.would highly recommend it.all washed down with a cheeky pinta colada

If I was you get someone else to deliver your food as I had a mistlbe male driver bring my food he was very rude I want be going back there no more

Been using here for about 10 years now, had to delete my 5 star review to 1 star, had a shrimp omelette and chips last week and it was lovely, had the same tonight and it disgusting, who ever cooked it put a few nice chips on top the rest was the worst greasiest chips I've ever had in my life.. Did he think I wasn't going to see the other chips under the top layer? And as for the shrimp omelette I had to throw it in the bin, it was burnt, greasy and disgusting, never ever would I use this place again.. I had to go hungry all night.. Would have took it back and demanded a refund if it weren't so far

The food is absolutely amazing! I tried the spicy hot wings and it blew me away. Portions are generous, flavors are spot on, and everything was piping hot when it arrived. Can’t wait to try more from the menu!

A very friendly and welcoming pub. We called in, without booking, on Thursday lunch time , the pub was so busy but a table was found for us without any fuss. We did wonder about the wait for food considering everything is cooked fresh but need not to have worried. Menu is full of fish which the bar staff knew all about. My skate was excellent, my husband haddock and chips were cooked to perfection. The staff are great fun with a good knowledge of Harwich

Really good food, always nice best chicken curry in my opinion. Also would like to say how lovely the lady on reception is, she is always friendly always polite and very professional when on the phone taking the orders ..

We came here for a Saturday afternoon lunch. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had the starters and main meals and the portions of everything is massive, so be careful unless you're really hungry! It was worth it though because the food was very tasty. I would also recommend the black forest cheesecake if it is on the dessert specials.

Had a walk from Frinton to Walton during which my phone died. Wanted to eat and drink and spend money in the Queens head but they refused to let me charge my phone claiming it might blow their whole electrics. I found this rather strange. We decided to go elsewhere as the lady was unfriendly and rude about it. We went to a pub round the corner where they were happy for our custom and welcomed us warmly.

The food was great and the staff were extremely polite and helpful, especially Megan. Special praise is due to Tom who, when a member of our party was taken ill, handled the medical side with consumate efficency and compassion. We will definitely be back.

Not a bad word to say for the Balkern Gate. the staff make the place, Sarah, Nikki, Cara, all the bar staff are always welcoming and happy during busy times, great friendly atmosphere great place to visit. My choice if you want a friendly atomsphere

Nice food. Hadn't been for a long time,but decided to frequent again. Happy .downside.got bill and delivery charge added to my bank after I received a receipt just for the food. minimum spend £25.thought a bit much,when most £15.
