I had received a delivery from you guys the order was here within 25 mins the order came with RAW CHICKEN IN MY CHOW MEIN THE EGG FRIED RICE WAS OJVERCOOKED AND WAS HARD RICE AND THE CHICKEN BALLS WERE ACTUALLY PINK RAW IN THE MIDDLE I TRIED TO CALL BUT NO ANSWER FAIRLY DISGUSTED RUINED A MEAL AND I WILL BE GETTING A FULL REDUND IMMEDIATELY TODAY

The Food was Excellent! I ate there 2 days in a row & was only staying in area for 3 days 😃

A good takeaway, we had a chow mein, chips and bbq. It was good value. The lady who served us was really nice and the food was ready quickly

Dislike my dad’s shop and my own family. The food is okay-ish I just dislike my own family members.

A friend staying on holiday regularly has chinese. This time eating from sun yau he said was best chinese he's had.

The food is absolutely one of the best Chinese I have had in along time. The atmosphere needs some work the service was OK. The decor needs a lot to be desired. But the food is amazing.

A little run down and shabby but easily the best Chinese takeaway I had in the 4 weeks I spent travelling around England

Amazing food and value a hidden gem. The value is great. Interior is a little shabby, but my husband left not a scrap of food on his plate. The set meal was £21 and could easily have feed 3 adults. Sorry no pictures.

Staying at Martello Beach holiday park and have just had a takeaway delivered. Everything piping hot and tasty. Arrived exactly when they said it would. Really nice guy delivered it, don’t normally do delivery and so not sure if you are meant to tip the driver, apologies if you are. Have to pay cash for delivered orders. Many thanks.

We ordered for the first time last week and had the most amazing meal delivered on time. We could not fault any of it and will definitely be ordering again.

have used this chinese takeaway every week for a while now, recently we have had poor quality food, we had a poor service a few weeks back but decided to carry ontrying but tonights meal was terrible. chips,hard cold, wet bags awful taste, did not receive large pancake roll but small empty fat sleeves of nothing, raw onions and mushrooms, curry sauce changed consitency, chowmein tasteless, dont think it was cooked fresh.. the whole order went in the bin. they must have changed cooks as this used to do delious food, we used it weekly. our order was one hour when they said 45 mins, so im guessing ours was last to be delivered cold, wont be trying this chinese again, which is a shame, feel disappointed for them.

The worst chinese ever. The prawn crackers were stale, curry sauce had no flavour the tasted like they were re heated from yesterday. Chicken chow mein was horrible. The delivery driver came quick will never use again

We're really fussy with Chinese takeaways but read the reviews and went with Sun Yau. All the dishes were really tasty and hot. Delivered quickly and we all really enjoyed it. Thank you Sun Yau, if we're back here again will definitely be placing another order

Bought a chicken curry for the first time more skin than actual meat, not impressed. This is my first time here but will it try again to see if it has improved.

tried this chinese for the first time tonight, phone answered promptly easy order over phone and payment , they said it would take 40 minutes but arrived in 20 minutes.by a polite lady. it was piping hot, good size portions, freshly cooked, not greasy, definatly will be using again, reminded me of how a chinese takeaway was 20 years ago from home town, best chinese ive had from different takeaways in clacton on sea. highly recommend.

Been going here for years, and I always modify what I order ( less chilli, no meat ) ect, and they always make it to order for me. The food is so fresh and cooked brilliantly, it’s not greasy like most takeaways and the delivery is always very quick. I have been to a lot of Chinese places over the years in Clacton, Frinton and Thorpe and this is by far the best one.

Recently came to Martello and started using this Chinese, everytime so far the service and food is excellent nothing too greasy, very good size portions lasts 2 of us for 2 days could even stretch to 3. Super fast delivery. Best Chinese we have had ☺

1st time ordering from Sun Yau. Quite possibly the best chinese I've ever had. Quick delivery and the food was exceptional.

Under rated this is one of the best take away restaurants I've had the pleasure of eating from. Quality for taste 4.4 rating.

ordered a takeaway at 4pm and was told half hour to 40 mins. Ok cool thats fine....at 5:10 I asked if the meal had been sent out yet which I was told it had. It turned up at 6:15 stone cold!! I refused the meal, had family here so super embarrassed too. Never again,vile service.

Phoned for a delivery order with £40 worth of food and have said they won’t do this even though they say open till 12am not impressed won’t be using these again order from these every time I am down at my caravan which is once a month !!

Delicious take away, really yummy, one of the best i have had, all three of us really enjoyed it, we had honey ribs, chow mein, salt + pepper chips, chicken wings, BBQ pork.

Worst Chinese we've ever had! Everything was extremely greasy, way too much onion it was very over powering, honestly it was like biting into an onion that had been dipped in oil. The prawn sesame toast was soggy and rubbery, the spring rolls were that bad we had one bite and put them back in there bags, chips were good but hey there chips! So basically overall.... Waited over an hour for some Discusting Grease! I've now got to cook for 3 people at half 10pm and I'm £29 out of pocket!!

We were recommended this take away during our stay and on the second evening decided to try it. Ordering was easy and paid for over the phone by card. We were told it would be about 30 mins. They were spot on. The delivery driver was friendly. The food was lovely. It tasted very fresh and full of flavour. Portion sizes were generous to. Possibly one of the nicest Chinese take aways we have had.

We ordered takeaway while staying at caravan park, they deliver to your door. We had sweet and sour prawn balls, pork with veg and blackbean large special.fried rice, prawn crackers for £14.10. It was all well cooked and delicious. Portions were good, lots of pork, prawns large and juicy. This was plenty of food for 2 of us. We will use again.

Fresh tasty hot and usually very quick, you cannot fault them, happy staff too, 10 / 10 from me and mine.

My husband and I were visiting friends and had a meal for 5 people delivered. The duck was the best I've ever tasted and the ribs were succulent. Lovely meal and plenty left over for today. I wish we had a Chinese this lovely in Billericay!

Poor watery food , There is a far better one up the top of road sure it has had hygiene problems as well ?

I live in the Jaywick area, and Sun Yau has never disappointed. I have used them on several occasions, and the staff have been very friendly and helpful. They are always sincere should anything be missing from your order, and the food (the most important thing) is always tasty and of good standard. It is not five star, but is still pleasant as a treat for the family.
