Lovely food. Fast service. Would recommend.

Do not order here!!! Firstly they messed up our order, then it cost £36 for two people which is insane and as I was eating there was something I bit down on (which definitely shouldn’t have been in there) and it chipped my tooth. I do not recommend!

My inlaws live close by and we fancied a chineese. The food was excellent, highly recommend. Reasonably priced too especially considering the quality of the food.

Two Singapore noodles, some ribs, two pancake rolls and one Kung Po chicken. £33.40. They don’t even give away a bag of prawn crackers for free. The food is nice but they have a captive audience being the only one locally. Eye-watering overpriced.

First time here and really impressed. All the foood was excellent and will definitely be returning!

Just moved to Mistley so didn't want to cook. Ordered £45 worth for 3 people for collection. Was told it would be 10mins. What can I say, best Chinese takeaway we have ever had. The food was bang on time. The lady who served me was very polite and professional. The food was amazing.. We've definitely found our new Chinese takeaway. See you next time!

Absolutely amazing takeaway. We always get food from here and it has been consistently good for as long as I can remember. It's always 10 minutes, and the food is always piping hot. Highly recommend.

Really disappointed. Had set menu G and it was really bland. There was hardly any beef - mainly vegetables, but no flavour. Prawns weren't fully peeled and the rice was dry. Most of it went in the bin - shame!

One of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve had, and we’ve moved around over the past few years. Crispy bits crispy, fresh ingredients used, still hot when we reached home and didn’t skimp on the portions. Will definitely be returning.

Take away only at this decent Chinese eatery in the middle of Manningtree, just off the high st. Huge menu with good portions and a really swift service

Had one last week and was awesome so thought would try again, first time I have seen boiled rice brown, so after a good experience very disappointed with the second meal.

This is a fantastic Chinese Takeaway. They take cash AND card. Fast and easy service. We have been here several times now, it's the only one we go to. The food is always excellent, piping hot and not greasy at all! It tastes clean and we have had alot of prawns from there, in a variety of dishes.. always fresh and NOT over cooked and chewy! After eating it you DON'T feel sluggish the next day or a "bit dodgey". Their chips are divine... Dare I say better than from the fish and chips shop 🤯 all round they do a wonderful variety of food and customer service is 5*. Really pleased to have such a great local Chinese 👍👏

I go to dragon house every time I get Chinese , it’s very fast and better than all chinese’s I’ve tasted

This place is expensive, they have no card machine and the food is only average. I don't understand why they distribute their food in plastic containers, it seems very environmentally unfriendly compared to the aluminium containers that can be recycled.I don't go here often, and change between here and the fontana, who do accept cards but are also average.

Ordered food at five o'clock, good service and friendly however food was poor quality then at after eight me and my son both have bad stomach pains and now feel sick. Very disappointed. Have informed them what I purchased but they are not interested.

Having read a poor review yesterday we thought we’d see for ourselves as we were visiting and it’s close. What a fab takeaway! Accommodating about changing things if needed, very friendly, reasonably priced, tasty food, good portions. Better than our favourite Chinese at home. Thoroughly recommended and can only suggest the poor review person was having a bad day. Thank you Dragon House.

Used to visit the Dragon House on a regular basis over the past 18 years, but as the competition in town has closed, the service and food have severely declined.Orders were often wrong, requiring a visit back to the shop for missing items.No longer accepting cards was the final straw for us, and we prefer driving to Ardleigh or Colchester now for our food.Food portions have shrunk in size but costs have risen.Ardleigh now have a take-away (who accept bank cards!) where portions are significantly larger and the food much tastier, plus they provide free prawn crackers! We now take our trade there.

Seriously has gone downhill over the last few years, always a fast service but food isn't always up the the mark. Very greasy and some dishes taste like they have been microwaved. Now started using Peking palace only a 10 min drive definitely worth the trip!

Fast at getting the food out to us. But swimming in fat and not that tasty. Nowhere to park and if you come from outside of town. It's hard to find too

I think since the refurb, the service and food has become better!Good value for money and they always chuck in some prawn crackers or fortune cookies for us. We are never left waiting more than 20 minutes when we order, we usually phone ahead and come to collect.I think they would hugely benefit from a delivery service, but I wouldn't want to risk the service we currently receive for the sake of a 5 minute drive down the road.Also always remember they do not accept card anymore, luckily there is a cash point just down the road.

Expensive for food served in plastic dishes so it can be cooked in the microwave. Never ever seen chicken cut in perfect squares and don't taste like chicken. Spent over £25 and they don't even give you a bag of prawn crackers. Miserable looking and tasting. Never again.

This is our 'Local' Chinese takeaway. Its always 10 minutes. The parking is a bit of a pain but thats manningtree for you.

He tenido suficiente de Dragon House mis órdenes equivocadas. Otro orden incorrecto hoy. El cordero en el curry que pedimos estaba mayormente grasas y creo que fue un corte de cuello, que es muy barato. Es muy decepcionante para los residentes de Manningtree a soportar tan horrible calidad y mal servicio. Ya no estoy preparado para gastar mi dinero aquí cuando van mal mi pedido tan a menudo y el corte de cordero en barato mi curry fue la gota que colmó el vaso. Nos merecemos algo mejor, y por si fuera poco, ni siquiera a domicilio.

Whilst this venue is usually busy (good sign) the good standard of service is maintained. Always helpful, friendly and accommodating. The only problem is parking close by as this is limited by parking restrictions.

This take away only does not deliver but the trip is worthwhile and wait time is short. The menu is 'regular' chinese but very tasty and worth a try.

Have been going here for years and am never disappointed. Friends from afar always says it's good too. Great menu choices and quick service. I even used it for my son's 21st celebrations - simple!

It's OK and will satisfy an urge for Chinese food but isn't great. You won't be particularly delighted or disappointed with the food.I think a bit more taste and fairer prices would do wonders for the business esp as it's right next to the Red Loin where you can bring in takeaway food.My advice would be to go to the Thai which is 1 min away and tastes amazing for the same price.

This takeaway located on the one way part of South Street in Manningtree is exceptional. We use this eatery about once a month and the service is second to none. Very fast service, normally ready to collect in 10minutes from telephone ordering. Note- parking is not easy at weekends but you can park outside if you are lucky or it's a quick walk up the hill from the town. All dishes are excellent. Prices are good and food quality is always spot on.. Give this one a try. Note. They do NOT deliver. Collection only and its best to phone your order through before you leave..

Starters were okay; duck and vegetable pancake rolls, poor prawns on toast.Main course was basically just bland, except the Singapore noodles that just seemed to have had a handful of curry powder thrown in for flavour.All in all, pretty poor and most of it went in the bin.

I ordered for the first time on Saturday. When I arrived to collect the shop was busy so I took that as a good sign. How wrong I was.I had to wait quite a while but I thought that it would be nice and fresh. When the food was handed over I took a 200 meter walk back home and opened the food. It was barely warm and you could of broken your teeth on the smoked chicken. The Mongolian lamb resembled snippets of belt with a texture to match. The best thing about the whole thing was the plastic containers that the food came in. Quality containers shame about the food

We have had a takeaway from here before which wasn't great but thought we would give it another chance what a mistake it was seriously the worst Chinese we have ever had two of the dishes we couldn't even eat a complete waste of money really wish we had taken it back

Since most of the Chinese takeaways in the area have closed, we dug out a Dragon House take-out menu. Don't make the same mistake!On opening the bag, a number of items were missing. On telephoning, were offered nothing in terms of rectifying. "You can come back and get them?" was all they had to say. If you can remember the plum sauce and cucumber for a half crispy duck, surely you'd remember the pancakes. And the duck. It turns out that the people we had with us have had similar problems from here.The Duck dish we did order, w/cashews & hoisin, contained some duck, but a good proportion of this was skin, gristle and bone. The Spring Rolls were absolutely foul- distinctively both slimy and greasy at the same time. To make something taste noticeably of both of these together is a feat in itself, but not one they should be proud of. In general, none of the food was particularly hot- lukewarm at best.In all, by far the worst takeout of any kind I've ever experienced. My suggestion- avoid the Dragon House altogether, perhaps try Simply Thai instead!

Since the Magic Wok closed you would think that the Dragon House would do better. I have ordered several times from them and they got my order wrong. They need to consider keeping their prices down and keep an eye on quality since their competition has diminished. Also, it would not hurt for the person answering the phone to be very polite. We all use Chinese restaurants and most of us are fed up with the basic communication......especially since they have increased business due to two recent closures.

We've been here many times and always enjoy our meals. Great value and great food, Pork Szechuan style is great as is the duck chow mein.

We have had many, many meals from the Dragon House, including a 21 person buffet take away and our usual Christmas Eve party take away. I have never had less than delicious, hot food; reading in 10 minutes (or a little longer if a big order). I usually book in advance when we have a big order and the food always been great.

This is the best Chinese for many a mile, outstanding food at very reasonable prices I have been here at least once a week for years and never been disappointed.

Great food, sometimes a little bit too greasy, but you can't fault the quality at all. My favourite is S&S king prawn Hong Kong style mmmmmmmm.

Last time we had it from here we said never again, should have stuck to that decision. Food was dry , bland and cold. I expect dishes with sauce to have more than a teaspoon of sauce. Will definitely not be using again.

the Dragon House is by far and away the best Chinese food in the area. It has the highest hygiene rating of similar establishments. The food is well cooked, delicious and fresh. What more can I say.

BEST Chinese food ever tasted, always full of flavour and nothing like any other Chinese food I've had elsewhere. ABSOLUTELY YUMMY!
