Very friendly people, food is excellent the price is extremely reasonable. They'll happily cater to any changes. Portion sizes leaves some left for the morning, with the large worth every penny. So glad to finally find a place that's as good as any in London.

Best Haddock and Chips 10/10 as usual. Meal ready on time as we had pre ordered. Polite staff.

Told 30 min wait. Was closer to an hour. Everybody else was waiting way beyond promised times. Arrived to pay with card. Told they ONLY ACCEPT CASH. The shop looks dirty. The kitchen looks like it was last fitted out in the 80's. Finally the food. Ribs tasted of aniseed. Could not finish. Chalmin in container was not even full. Chicken sweetcorn soup was awful with zero flavour. Worst I've ever tasted. I would never return to this cesspit and I would advise you not to waste your 'CASH' in this dive.

We have literally had the worst Chinese ever this evening from this takeaway, they couldn't even manage to get a child's chicken nugget and chips right.... Omg the chips were burnt to a crisp they were black, and the nuggets well they would have broken your teeth! The chicken balls were absolutely awful again hard and all soggy in the middle! Rice dreadful and the chicken curry absolutely disgraceful 😠 we will never return.. Save your money and go elsewhere do not get a takeaway from this joke of a place.

Just moved into the area and thought we’d try this place “big mistake” got our order wrong even giving a vegetarian a chicken dish. Never again

Staff lovely curry worse than awful All I could taste was flour and gloop the sauce was thick but the any way near flavour was definitely missing. Don’t bother if you want a Chinese curry ☹️

Best chinese food in essex, my partner and I have tried a fair few Chinese takeaways and this one tops the list!!! Kim is great even time you go in, her partner cooks and is always spot on, ask for something added or a diffrent way he works his best to make it happen.

We had our first takeaway from the Water Margin on Tuesday for a year owing to this awful virus. As usual it was absolutely delicious, this is by far the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Try the Singapore Rice Vermicelli, I don't think you could get any more in the container!

I ordered sweet n sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, chips, we was 5 mins away, my partner picked it up it was done already! I thought it was quick!, it was disgusting, the chips rubbery, chicken balls stringy and batter soggy and so was the rice, no flavour at all! It had been reheated! Never again!

If you want your meal on time do yourself a favour and go to Chinese cottage. The foods good but having to sit waiting for half an hour because " we forgot about your order" doesnt do it for me............

We visited twice in September 2018 - we were staying at a Cottage nearby. Went for a Chinese the first night we arrived as we were too tired to cook - very pleased with the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. So we went again in the week - £44 for 6 people, ample.

Food is always fresh, and hot, nothing is ever too much for them, they will go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. I would definitely recommend it.

Obviously my taste buds differ from the positive reviews!. Ordered two distinct Chinese dishes, both with different tastes, flavourings etc. Both came swimming in the same tasting sauce (although different colours), a huge amount of chunky undercooked vegetables, minimal meat and the side order of chips was very greasy. Positively the rice was fine, but then rice should be pretty easy to cook for a Chinese takeaway. Also cash only, so you have to get to the ATM across the road (if it's working) and you don't have enough cash on you. Don't fully understand why cash only?! Won't be going back and prefer to drive and collect from a better takeaway.

I live about 4 miles away. I have never had a bad meal from here the staff are always cheerful would recommend to everyone

Had takeaway just before Xmas was lovely set meal for 2 well worth every penny in fact it was £24.00 for both but had so much food so tasty couldn’t eat it all .

This has been our regular chinese takeaway for a long time and we have usually been very pleased with it, food is fresh and flavoursome

Really rather disappointed by the food- small containers of Chinese food, padded out with loads of vegetables, such as carrots, onions, etc. Taste was bland. Tried it twice but won't bother again. Ok if you aren't especially fussy about Chinese food or it being especially authentic "British Chinese"

To be honest, the place has very good quality ingredients that they put into their dishes. Everything tastes fresh, there are a lot of options, and they do an interesting combination of British and Chinese cuisines. The restaurant is family owned and operated. They are a strong team and very friendly. The restaurant enjoys frequent customers throughout their opening hours. I love Chinese food, this is my favorite Chinese takeout places in Essex.

By far the best Chinese food in the area. Fresh and delicious with no artificial colours and generous servings at reasonable prices. Kim and Kevin are very polite and friendly people who always make you feel welcome and valued customers. We have bought our Chinese takeaway there for many years and our only complaint is that they have to take a day off so we can't have Chinese on Mondays!!
