The best restaurants in Tendring East of England

Music blaring, I was the only customer. I asked them twice to turn it down and they refused. Quaint tea room and blaring disco don't mix.

I just had a drink at the Essex Skipper. I was welcomed by the staff. The bar was spacious and the seating was comfortable. The food looked very good. I will definitely return for a meal, next time. Dog friendly pub/restaurant. Lovely area at the back , to enjoy a drink in the sun.

Food was lukewarm, by the time we took it out the bag the order had missing items (drinks)… the rice I ordered was wrong. It was supposed to be plain for a reason, I can’t even give a decent review. first time ordering from here and it was terrible, driver had to make another trip for the restaurants mistake. Unhappy and unsatisfied with the whole service food and communication.

Fast and tasty exactly how it should be! Propa greasy spoon you wond be disappointed.

Firstly, i have to say, i have just come on here to leave a review and i am shocked at some of the previous reviews. My wife and i have just returned home from a wonderful evening at The Mayflower. This isn't our first time here but i forgot to leave a review the last time, but this time this place blew us away and i had to. The food and service this evening was top drawer, Jack and Pheobe were rushed off their feet this evening, but handled the restaurant like true professionals with a constant smile on their faces and a professionalism that would put other restaurants to shame. I am only sorry i couldn't meet the chefs and thank them too, as the food was out of this world. This is without doubt THE chinese eat in restaurant in the Clacton/Holland area. Thank you so much guys, we will be returning again and again.

Execellent customer service! the staff are so nice and kind. and the food tastes delicious, amazing place here! a reccommended Fish & Chips place if you live near it.

Went at lunch time, one baguette and sandwich made up in the fridge. Pizza on the shelf to serve blacker than charcoal, had sausage rolls but they tasted like popcorn somehow.

Food is nice. We aren't very adventurous with our order. Shop could do we a repaint.

Third time I have drove to this takeaway in the last month says they are open online but never seem to be open ?

Place no longer exists. A new restaurant stands in its place - and the owner was more than happy to help us get rid of our confusion

Just stayed the weekend here in a beautiful part of the world. Woke up looking over the Stour and if I thought the views were great, the breakfast was even better. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and make my stay as positive of an experience as possible. Couldn't recommend enough and I will make sure to book in again if I ever revisit the area!

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was neatly furnished, clean, and comfortable, which contributed to a pleasant and restful stay. Unfortunately, the shower did not meet expectations: the water was only lukewarm and could not be adjusted to a higher temperature, which significantly reduced the comfort. The dinner was of good quality, with well-prepared dishes and a thoughtful presentation, reflecting care and professionalism in the kitchen. However, the breakfast was disappointing. The toast was burnt, and the eggs were barely cooked, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, we found the price of the breakfast rather high in relation to the quality offered. For a price in that range, we had expected a more refined and properly prepared meal. On a positive note, we would like to emphasize that the staff was very friendly, professional, and service-oriented. Their customer-focused attitude made a strong impression and was greatly appreciated.

Always enjoy the fish and chips.

Noisy heater all night. Room was adequate but tired (Refurb of rooms in progress). Not good value for cost
