Large portions fantastic chips . Highly recommend it.

Greasy fish and chips , oil running out offod chips stuck to serving paper.

The smallest portion of cod and chips we've ever received and for the money there charging is a joke wont be returning unless they stop being so tight.

Shame online orders are not cooked until you arrive at the shop to collect the food. Annoying, especially when the website asks you to specify the time you want to collect the food and you have to pay online to complete the order.

I rung asked for food in boxes as son disabled.. she said U will have to pay for boxes .. I said ok .. came in paper need to listen to customers

The service is very friendly and consistent, and the quality and freshness of the food is really good. Well recommended.

We rarely have fish and chips but if we do we use Riverside. You just can't go wrong. The last 2 times we have been I've waited while the fish was cooked fresh and it was beautiful 👍 the service was also great 👍

First of all I phoned my order in, for a large haddock, chips and a curry sauce. It cost just under £14. The chips were really lovely, as was the sauce. The staff are really really friendly. Absolutely lovely people and they look after you. However, the haddock was horrid. It was dry. The batter was dry. Parts of the inside were undercooked so was just raw batter inside in places. The fish was a nice size, lovely and thick, but the actual fish was just dry and mixed in the mouth into one lump of just dry tasteless fish. It was disappointing. This place must have changed hands because it used to be the best in the area, sadly it’s no longer that. I’m going to try Mistley next to see what they’re like.

Usually have good meal from here. Had their fish and chips today, 20.9.24, absolutely scrumptious. Took them to The Walls, sat in the sun there, by the river, to eat them, shear bliss. The gulls appreciated the spare batter and skin (They get no chance of any fish though and very few chips)

After 45mins of waiting I'm told we've mislaid your ticket. End up with a hurried order, undercooked fish and no offer of any compensation. V disappointed.

Despite its location on an industrial estate in Manningtree, this is an exceptionally good fish and chip shop. The fish is very fresh, the portions are large and the quality of frying is very good. It's not the cheapest but as the old saying goes 'you get what you pay for' - highly recommended.

Amazing fish and chips! We live in Felixstowe and it wipes the floor with anything we have in our town! The girls serving were lovely, the chips & fish were absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend it highly enough

We ordered cod and chips twice with curry sauce and a mushy peas with two gherkins so for 28 pounds we got to small cod with one portion of chips when we went back to complain they had the cheek to charge me another 3 pounds for more chips saying that's what you get for our first order the chips where literally one potato worth the gherkins where so small it was ridiculous never again will I ever go there to be ripped off ever again the food was also Luke warm disappointed and angry with the whole experience

5 stars for speed, quickest fish and chips shop I've ever been to. Barely had time to sit down in this very nicely lit and modern takeaway including adequate seating in the form of stools around the sides for dinning. Loved the batter 😋

Two visits, weeks apart and we both end up with bubbly tummies twice in a row. I’ve had numerous uncomfortable loo visits and I never get ill. Maybe it’s pure coincidence, but I think we will use the other chippy from now on.

The food used to be good, but the standard has dropped considerably. A pack of chips are minute small and consist of mainly scraps from the bottom of the tray. The price is ridiculous high.

First time using this fish and chip shop. And certainly will not be the last. Top service and the fish was fantastic,it may be 30 minutes from home but we will be back.

Great tasting chips but sadly mushy cod as usual,it tastes ok but I wish they used fresh like they prrofess they do. Fresh cod when cooked from fresh is white and flaky not opec and see through and very greesy. Like all takeaways in the sticks they don't have any competition to keep them on their toes so they serve substandard food.

Cracking Fish ‘n’ Chips. 5 stars.

Type of fast food, large volume, good quality, this store resembles a station hall with its flow of customers. But, the quality is excellent and I recommend.

So we revisited tonight as our previous visit was a success. However tonights food was a little short of a disaster. We as a couple, always order 2 medium Haddock and a portion of medium chips to share between us. Older age being the reason that a few chips each normally suffices. If this is the ‘new medium’ chips, then it needs labelling as ‘small’. We seriously considered the local Harwich chip shop for another portion!! Tonights meal was taken away to Harwich to eat. Both of the Medium Haddocks were more of a small size to be honest, but that aside, it tasted Nothing like Haddock tastes. Its a ritual for the pair of us on a Friday night to have fish and chips and we both know what Haddock breaks apart and tastes like. Tonights so called Haddock was a lot drier than anywhere else does it. The flakes as you would normally break it would be larger and more of the size of a dessert spoon. These were very small and dry without the same taste. We both said this is not Haddock and didn't finish either of them. Disappointed with tonights serving and i need to hear some good things from there for us to return.

Got a kid's meal of cod chunks and chips, 3 small cod chunks ! And chips that must've be the dreggs of what was left. Very disappointing. £5.50 too!!!

We visited Riverside fish and chip shop yesterday evening on recommendation from friends, and we certainly were not disappointed, the staff we very efficient and the food was fresh cooked, the wait was not too long and certainly worth it, the waiting area is also very pleasant, plenty of seats to wait, no long standing around

This is our absolute favourite fish and chip shop currently - I always order a battered sausage and chips, and both are always piping hot. They also have proper curry sauce that's nice and thick, and not the runny nonsense that other fish and chips shop sell. A drink, with sausage and large chips + curry sauce works out just below £10 a person so not bad at all

We’re quite fussy about which fish and chip shops we use and we’re pleased to have found this place when on holiday in the area. It was very busy at 5pm on a Friday evening so a giveaway that it must be a good local chippy. The whole set up was very organised, staff presentable, friendly and the cod and chips just perfect. We took ours down to the river to eat.

When you pay nearly £20 for fish and chips then asking 10p for a paper carrier is just profiteering, it's not a govt requirement to pay for paper bags unlike plastic ones!

Great fish and chips, cooked fresh. Can phone your order in ahead and collect. Waiting area is lovely, clean and spacious with seating. Can also eat at the "bar" which has plugs and USB sockets. A huge plus is their large carpark. I was very impressed with how organised everything was, you get a number that buzzes when your order is ready. One of the best fish and chips places I've been too.

We came in store to order a takeaway, we were served really quickly and were left to sit down to wait. The decor inside is absolutely wonderful, so colourful and vibrant, it’s a really nice atmosphere in there. The food was delicious and was ready in no time, i’d recommend going here again

We drive from Colchester regularly for F&C’s from here and eat down on the Manningtree walls - even have the emergency ketchup bottle in the car at the ready!! Recently managed to hire their mobile unit for our wedding evening party, they parked up on our drive and smashed out 80+ guests in no time at all and to the same high standards with not a complaint in the house,. Thanks again guys, keep up the good work…

Whenever we are out and about in our motor home fish and chips has to be part of our trip, being celiac I looked on google for gluten free and Riverside fisheries was the closest. We drove about 12 miles to get there and I can tell you it was definitely worth the drive. The fish was superbly cooked in nice crispy batter and the chips were cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to call again when next in the area. Thanks guys , from a satisfied Yorkshire man.

Fantastic gluten free options cooked in a separate fryer! The wait is a bit longer for gluten free items but well worth it. The shop has a really cool retro American diner feel to it and parking out front.

Food is decent but there is simply no point phoning in your order in advance because they just seem to add your order to the queue when you arrive at the agreed time.

Placed order I made it v clear I wanted salt vinegar on chips -wasn’t there !, I noticed at home too late ! I’ve seen others here say same thing other (than that the other items I ordered were fine)

Inconsistent. Portion sizes vary. Chips sometimes cold/old. On the flip side, sometimes they're lovely but you never know what you'll get which is frustrating as they're not cheap.

Such a shame that you pre order and still have to wait over 20mins for your food. Really can't see the point of having the option to order online then wait as long as people ordering in the shop. When the food did come it was excellent

Usual tasty chips were sadly missing tonight 3 portions for my family all substandard NO SALT AND VINEGAR even though I was asked twice !!! won’t be returning unless this was a one off ….

Very good, but a bit slow. And normally forget your salt and vinegar.
