Really tasty food. The curry sauce is what compliments the dishes. Great food . I have to travel from kirby le soken for my takeaway. Keeps me coming back. We'll done for the amazing food.

It’s the only place we get our food from. The owners are amazing, very friendly and always there’s a smile with the service. My favourites are the Lemon Chicken, Chow Mein and the dumplings are awesome!

One of the best take away chinesse we have had. It was that good we ordered twice in one weekend. Food not greasy, crispy not soggy chips, prawn/chicken balls all cooked perfectly. And their pancake rolls are packed, the biggest and best we have ever had. Highly recommend!

After using Asterbourne takeaway for the last few years and having some really nice food , last night we placed our order it arived in good time , but the food was not up to our expetations the rice was cold my wife's duck with orange sauce was to be frank was disgusting ie bits of duck skin with lumps of fat over cooked with virtually no meat and not very nice at all ,my meal was not much better sweet and sour chicken cantonese style, the chicken was old and dry and not much of it.This was Asterbourns last chance with us as the last time we had a takeaway from there it had been simular not good at all its a shame as it was the best Chinese in Clacton but no longer, I'm sad to say we will not be ordering from them again

Was delivered super quick so guessed it would not be good. Uncooked batter on sweet and sour balls raw chicken in chop suey the rice was undercooked so all in the bin and not the first time

Best Chinese food I've had, by far!

Gave my little cousin explosive dihorreah. Keep away from here in general especially steer clear of their giant greasy balls filled of chicken and the egg fry ryyy

Recently moved to area and found this Chinese to be the closest to were we moved, it's a little different from the old Chinese in ways of taste ( both excellent), over all this Chinese is excellent and after eating from here a good few times now for us we're glad to find a comparable takeaway. I've enjoyed the food from here and it's my number one. Friendly and efficient service, more than happy with what we've had so far, always seems very busy, so it must be good 👍 😀

Food excellent, arrives hot, delivery good, have been using for about 2 years now. Love it.

As usual excellent service and quick arrival of food. Good sized portions and a meal for 1 quite adequately feeds myself and my wife. Good value for money and have been using Asterbournes for the best part of 20 years.

Food is nice although when the place is busy food can come with a couple mistakes or it can be cold. This is understandable though. Portions are great and reasonable prices.

Best Chinese in clacton. I only live down coppins road and they still deliver 🥹 so sweet & the foods amazing!

Good food at a reasonable price and is quick to pick up, what more could you want. Staff are friendly and polite and there is plenty of parking, as expected you can pay by card or cash

Food is nice but when busy mistakes happen couple times wrong food, bearing in mind I have a 4 mile drive it's annoying when they say pop back and we change it. Food is allways good that's the important thing.

Recently started using this restaurant for take away orders; it is excellent quality and a wide range of choice. Staff know who is calling and can direct and advise with choices. Delivery is swift and efficient. Cost is acceptable given quantities provided. Recommend for family dining at home.

Best Chinese takeaway in Clacton! Been using this takeaway for 15 years and never disappointed!

We have brought our Chinese take way from here for the past 3/4 years and have recommended it to others as couldn’t fault it, sadly for a few months now the chips have been so hard we’ve not been able to eat them, they are more like thick crisps and the Chinese chicken chow mien has been Luke warm and on occasions greasy.. this last week I couldn’t even eat mine and threw it in the bin. I don’t know what’s happened, but would love them to be how they were before.. as before this couldn’t fault the food.

Have used this takeaway for a few years. Without a doubt the best in clacton. Always fantastic food. Excellent service. Would most definitely recommend. Keep up the great work!!!!

Having looked at the reviews as do not live in area, my dad was absolutely delighted with the service and we both said it was the best chinese food we have had in such a long while.the service from the lovely lady on the phone was great will definitely use this again..keep up the great work and thank you but you could of given me free chopsticks a little disappointed 😞 ha ha ha ha

Just had the perfect chicken curry and rice

Considering it’s in a run down area, the food is really nice. Always go there if our usual place is closed.

What can i say yeah 3 stars did a nice order and yeah let down on two item's i love crispy chilli beef and it was the worst i have ever had there was plenty of chilli, onion and carrot but not so much beef and it was not crispy as the sweet and sour sauce had been watered-down too much so the beef turned into soft beef with a couple of crispy bits and i ordered mushrooms in garlic and they sent mushrooms without garlic so why is it so hard to get what i order not like its thai butter garlic egg fried rice but its all easily made yes im used Thai garlic rice as a example as cant find a place that sells it food is ok for little people who never eat and why don't the people on the phone listen to what people ask for instead of just pressing the screen with what they think you want

Asked about vegan options tonight as I'm new to a plant based diet and they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating, even went to the effort of phoning me to talk about it! The lady I spoke to (sorry didn't get her name) took my order personally when I finally phoned it through and made sure everything was cooked in fresh vegetable oil, so no risk of cross contamination. Food was lovely as always and service was above and beyond fantastic.

Rang order through, advised my first time with this chinese takeaway, was told would get my order "within an hour". An hour passed so rang, was told on the way! Another 10-minutes later it arrived. Immediately I could see that the chicken was all dried up and hard, the rice was in a lump and congealed. No moisture in any of the food. The only good thing, which I've awarded a star for was the seaweed. Never again will I go to this place for food. Yuk. The lady that delivered it said you can wait upto 1 and a half hours for your delivery on the weeked!

Tried here before it easnt to bad this time they gave me wrong food and it was terrible and oily oil dripping off it

Lovely food, (not greasy like others can be). Also, I sent my son to pick up and they served chicken balls in my own pot, and put the sauce in a jar I sent along. #Zerowaste chinese! I am so impressed, no more polystyrene cups in my house! 😁

Have been going to ThevAsterbourne for many many years. Have tried other Chinese takeaways but this is definitely the best. Never had a problem with any meal ordered. Delivery service is very good they are 9 times out of 10 within the time quoted. Portions are huge and food is really tasty. Would recommend.

Having read reviews about this Take away, I thought I would give it a go. The food was excellent and plentiful, hot and quick to arrive. However 1 dish was substituted or perhaps was given to the cook wrong. How can you get Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein in a muddle? The person on the phone was so quick in taking the order I am blaming her...Such a shame as the food was good. I have just now read another reviewer who says they never get the correct food ordered, so perhaps I will have to re-think....

One of the best Chinese take outs I have tasted in a very long time, the food was cooked perfectly and was super tasty and freshly cooked.

A regular customer, however we never seem to get what we have ordered. Final straw tonight just over a £60 order and have items missing not just one but five, ring up to complain finally get a £15 refund and asked to hang up as Iam blocking incoming calls, well not no more never eat from here again, phone staff who never get the orders right and business owners who if it wasn’t for us customer wouldn’t have a business in the first place. Customer service goes along way!!!!!

whilst having a break in clacton for a few days,we decided on having a takeaway chinese,Well after reading many reviews we decided on The Asterbourne. What a brilliant choice , the food was absolutely fabulous <sweet and sour chicken(cantonese),shredded chicken,salt and pepper chicken,veg chow mein and egg fried rice> HIGHLY RECOMMEND
