Great food quick delivery's and friendly staff. Best Chinese takeaway around here

We are regulars and have never had complaint about either the service or the food. Tonight we placed our order and we received only some of it. We rang them which to be honest took ages but when we did get through they replaced the whole order. That is what you call service

Ordered tonight for the first time . The BEST chinese I have ever had, very flavoursome, not greasy at all, delicious and reasonably priced. Propmt delivery and sizeable portions. Highly recommend

Been ordering bbq ribs in sauce over a year now, now moved 30 mins away and still coming back to eat in here as the best ribs

The food came very quickly, was reasonably priced, and portions were generous with prawns/chicken. It did, however, feel somewhat anglicised. I suspect they know their customer base and this is what people want though.

Lady that took my order is very cheeky, overcharged me by nearly £5. Doesnt seem a lot but basically was robbed! She must of thought oh im going to round it up to the nearest ten…. Food was bland also.

Well well well… where to start, had made an order of £50 this evening and, the beef was extremely chewy (chewing for at least a minute) (jaw ache). The egg fried rice was flavourless along with the pork and honey, completely flavourless and extremely chewy (over cooked) the chips were extremely greasy and unseasoned. The beef and black bean sauce (the beef was fine but there was no spice nor peppers involved). The chicken balls and prawn balls were exceptional I have to admit. This leaves the chicken curry, we didn’t not receive this in the order although we had ordered it. We had got home to realise this and call up. The staff were kind enough to drive that out to us but obviously this Took 30-40 mins in which we had already eaten the food that we already had. So unfortunately the chicken curry went to waste. This is a shame as we were expecting big things based on reviews on here. It Is what it is.

Very clean, superb service excellent food

I've returned to them for a while after my previous few bad experiences. We had a few good meals just to end up again, today with food full of chilli flakes. Absolutely unhealthy, dangerous for people with digestive problems, triggering bad abdominal pains. I like spicy food, however, this was really bad again. It is supposed to use fresh chillies and not dry flakes which are quite dangerous. Pity....

Really love food and affordable.

Have been their regular customer until recently. The quantities have got worse and worse, e.g. bought roasted pork fried rice several times but hardly any pork or egg in it and they are almost just plain rice!!! Complained to them on the phone but we ended up having the same again. Have given this restaurant up and turned to the new Chinese restaurant China City in Walton and they are much better.

I have been buying regularly from them and I have been very pleased. The last 3-4 weeks they are unrecognisable, for the 3-rd time I have got UNEATABLE food... I have had some squid which I think was warmed up in the microwave a few times, it was so hard and so full of oil...Last time they had put an entire pack of chilli and salt on it, today I have asked them to put less, but no way...So I had to throw it away again. Last time it has caused me abdominal pain for 2 weeks. Sorry, you have to change as you are not good anymore, unfortunately.

Ordered chicken fried rice and received chow main. Was still good though.

New to the area so when ive got the need for Chinese food hokkaido is always ordered. Never had a bad meal from them used them pretty much every weekend or every other.

I have never had a bad meal from this place. Quality cooking, great customer service and always honest about the delivery time. It is not your typical chinese takeaway. It feels so authentic and the flavours are outstanding, as good as some of the a la carte chinese places in central london tht cost three times the price. The duck rolls and the gobble box are highly recommended.

The customer is not right in the place. Tried this place twice. Both times something wrong and the young man on front desk was difficult. This last and final time he was belligerent to the point of rudeness. So if you fancy having an argument about what you want to eat then this is the place. Mediocre food and appalling service. Avoid

Our usual Chinese Takeaway wasn't open due to the pandemic so we thought we would give Hokkaido a try. We are so glad we did, the staff were very friendly and brought our order out to us when we got there. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. We will definitely be using this takeaway as our regular one from now on.

Just moved to area and thought we would give this a try. I don't usually like chinese food but my other half does. I can honestly say this is the nicest chinese food I've ever had. Not greasy and prawn balls didn't have stodgy batter. Lovely young man serving, very polite and friendly.

Food and service are always amazing! We went into the shop and ordered on Christmas eve and they were really busy, the lady at the front was taking orders from people in the shop and on the phone, using a calculator and writing down orders so fast and easily. Would have been super stressful for most people but she was brilliant! We have tried few different Chineses, but nowhere is as good as Hokkaido. Food always arrives hot, the orders are always correct, food tastes consistently great, delivery is fast and the staff are friendly and efficent! Could not reccomend more!

This is a very good Chinese takeaway with lots to choose from, its a def must especially the Singapore fried rice

Different dishes to your usual take away. Mixture of Japanese and Chinese cuisines. So delicious we have been two weeks running to try more. Parking outside. Garlic prawns superb.

Our chinese of choice from about 5 we could use localy. Food is not too oiley as i find some to be. Prices seem to be rising a bit too much over the last couple of years but this may be the same across the board. Good varied choice as owners come from Malaysia so incorporate Thai, Japanese and other dishes on their menu. Would definalty recommend as i travel a lot and on a par with takeaways ive had in Hong Kong, San Francisco, Beijing.

Have used Hokkaido twice now and food has been great both times and delivered hot, tasty and super quick. Good selection on the menu for everyones taste and good recommendations on the menu if you get stuck. They might not be the closest to us but come highly recommended by everyone we have asked, for a good reason to, so happy we tried them over others as we don't need to keep looking.

Decided to have something easy so went to this Chinese. The service was very quick and both portion size and taste was good.

A couple of Londoners staying at a local hotel desperate for some good food and I am so glad we came across Hokkaido! A really friendly delivery man delivered to the hotel and patiently waited as we ran starving to the front desk, everything we ordered was delicious with generous portions. It really hit the spot and the prawn toasts were the best I have ever eaten! I wish they were my local!

I have always been very happy with the food from Hokkaido, it is always delivered quickly, hot and nice big portions. I have my favourites but always order one new dish each time. You really can't go wrong it's all so good.

New chef? , Don't think he knows what a knife is all meat and vegetables very very chunky, aromatic duck had to shred own duck, curry sauce watery, meat tasted boiled, pancake roll looked and tasted more like battered, chow mein very dry not the usual quality, customer service not good after ringing to give feed back EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, have gone down hill greatly

I'm not from Kirby (I'm from Southampton) and I would go as far as saying it's in the top 3 for Chinese food I've eaten. The beef in black bean sauce is lush!

Quality and service fantastic, Varied asian menu all very scrumptious and yummy. Excellent east coast take away in the sticks. Nice little find. A real gem. Totally awesome and enjoyable experience. Food was just on another level absolute quality and at a reasonable price to boot !! Recommended totally. A massive KC diamond seal of approval. 👍 Happy trails.... .

I have been using Hokkaido for years and have recommended them for the fresh food and the good quality... however recently (the last 3 orders I have placed) have been awful. The first two times I hoped it was just an unlucky bad one, but now I think the management must have changed? Food quality has really dropped and portion sizes are bad. Will go elsewhere now!!

Depends what you order, can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes the appetizers can be quite a small portion for the money you pay but it is nice food

OMG - Trust me, I have has a few Chinese/Thai take always in my time but I have never ever left a comment in my life for a take away until now. I have just ordered my food and it was delivered 15 minutes before it was advised... from this we thought maybe its been pre-made.... however let me tell you... No No No this was the most succulent chicken balls I have ever had. Not left to dry out in a hot cabinet I actually cut them open to dip in my curry sauce and the chicken was cooked to perfection !!!! Clear juicy balls. (Excuse the saying please) The rest of the food that was cooked was just so nice too, fresh, clean not greasy and very hot. The ingrediance in each dish were really nice, not to much or not too little of everything just the right amount added. I also asked if the could just tweak a dish and nothing was to much hassle so would I recommend... the answer is a massive big yes I do!

We have ordered from here before and it has been nice but this evening they didn't give us what we ordered. The chicken in the curry was very poor quality and didn't taste very nice. The duck was way over cooked.

Best Chineese take away in the area.

I ordered a takeaway in the dreaded snow last week and was completely blown away. Arrived in 30mins hot, tasty and fresh. Well done you just earned a new customer. I have used Hokkaido before and never had any issues but normal use a different Chinese for ease but will go out my way from now on.

Wonderful - we’ve been ordering from Hokkaido for many years now and the food is always wonderful. Good quality, tasty, plentiful, hot and the staff are always friendly and polite. We tucked into another feast just last night and as always it didn’t disappoint.

Have used this takeaway for many years now with no complaints other than the 'heat / chilli' rating they use to state some dishes are spicy etc is way off and set too high in my opinion. Delivery service is very good.

Visiting a friend in Kirby Cross and getting a takeaway from Hokkaido go hand-in-hand. I never do one without the other! There is a fantastic choice of food and I have never been disappointed with any of it. I can definitely recommend!

I have used this takeaway for a number of years and have found them to be consistently of a very good quality. I have had the occasional mix up with the order but there has never been a problem in rectifying the situation.

Used this Chinese loads for delivery over the last 4 years.. food is great but I have had 3 bad experiences.. one was a long dark hair in my food however they were very good & replaced the whole order.. on 2 other occasions I have waited over an hour for delivery & the food was cold.. again they replaced the food.. how ever when I rang this evening to place an order I was instantly met with.. there will be no refund on your food.. I couldn't believe it.. if the food was delivered in a reasonable time it wouldn't be cold & I wouldn't need to complain.. I told them to forget it.. I work in the food industry & this is not what I would expect when placing an order.

Love their food soups are meaty and fresh. Cantonese beef and sweat smoke chicken is the bomb always puts a smile on peoples faces

A banging thai green but there chips are naff and my mate billy mattews say the chicken have seen better days unless you like em geasey in the mids
