We were served by Izzie, a very friendly girl who was very attentive to details, if we could we would ask for her to serve us next time.

Had to stay here midweek for a buisness meeting in Cambridge. Check in was not the fastest but i found the bed extremely comfortable and enjoyed the extra laundry space available. Grest service by Susan at breakfast in the morning!

Myself & my friends popped into The Crown at Litlington. The moment we walked in the door there was a frosty, Hostile feel, for everyone to turn around and stare. We were then welcomed by the rather gruff Landlady/Barmaid, without even saying anything demanded to see my ID (i.e hello) even though I have visited this pub before. I have never been asked to see my ID even though I am 29 years old. I mistakenly forgot my ID, I had lemonade which was presented in a pint glass. At this point the atmosphere was still poor, so me & my friends decided to leave. Which was ashame as all local pubs seem to be struggling in the current economy climate and you would think a small local pub, would be happy for the customers and make you feel welcome and want to stay there. For this reason, me & my friends won’t be returning.

Tristemente improbable volver a visitar.

Really enjoyed popping in here for a few light meals on our cycles. We went for the fish and chips today and the portions were frankly enormous. We half struggled to cycle home. The fresh tarter sauce was great. I had white bait on a previous occasion and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back for that. Excellent beer too. They clearly are fastidious with their pumps and serving. All in all, not so cheep but the quality is worth it. Great service too. Recommended.

Updated: this is one of our regular pubs and we enjoy visiting and will visit again. It's dog-friendly, has very welcoming staff and a good beer selection. Perhaps the food isn't what it once was, and it's now more hit-or-miss, and I felt there was a tendency to overdo the mayonnaise, tomato or BBQ sauces, even on salad. The "normal menu is often very good, though we had a cassoulet previously that wasn't a success. Being a quiet Saturday, we had a mix from the street food menu, and regular tapas, including parsley risotto (very good), cauliflower florettes (not our favourite), BBQ corn ribs (again, I felt this wasn't to my taste) and beef brisket (okay). There's a pleasant area outside for a drink on the lawn, and comfortable chairs out back for when the weather is good. Automatic addition of 10% service to food bill (we had no problem with that, as the service was excellent and the staff clearly flagged this up). Looking forward to our next visit, as is our dog as there's a welcoming bowl of treats on the bar.

Hadn’t been to the poacher for a very long time but decided to give it a try. 3 adults went for evening meal and greeted by a very pleasant friendly landlord who showed us to our table, came over and took our order for drinks and said he would be back in a short while to give us our menus and tell us what was on the menu. Order taken and starters arrived after a short wait king prawn cocktail and garlic bread with cheese both very very nice. Main course came and the scampi was very nice my wife had the chilli con carni and our friend had the pie of the week and was advised it was fairly large and it was, all the food was first class and piping hot. We paid up after eating and drinking and as we left Dave the landlord gave us a very friendly handshake and wished us well, don’t get in many places I can just say a big thank you to the poacher Dave /Colleen for a wonderful evening,we will definitely be back

Fantastic village pub with a great garden and added bonus of an outside bar that also does the best cocktails at a great price. Happy hour 3 till 7 Mon to Fri is a bonus when you finish work and fancy a beer. Great atmosphere and the staff are very happy and helpful. Leon's food is delicious 😋

The food was so late, we called so many times and they kept saying it would arrive in the next 10 minutes. Waited for nearly 2 hours from ordering. Order was also wrong; one of the pizzas was completely wrong, one of the sides was incorrect, and our drinks didn’t arrive. Also it was cold because it was so late. Will be sure to never order from here again!
