Recently taken over by big chain. I think it's lost its individual charm, it's more expensive and you have to walk past too many nicnacs before you get to a garden plant! Would rather stick with smaller but family run friendly garden centres. Good cafe, wide range cakes.

Three of us had lunch here after looking round the garden centre. Descriptions of the food on the menu sounded very good. In reality all three of our meals were disappointing. Omelette dry chewy and tasteless, burger bun dry and hard, chicken cordon bleu was basically a small chicken kiev with a pile of very boring boiled potatoes.

Lovely place, mix of everything expected in a garden centre. Not cheapest, but 100% quality. Staff are amazing. Treated ourselves to pieces of fillet steak, melted in mouth beautiful when cooked at home. The sauce they put on it made it even more amazing Plants also high quality, lots of choices. Went here for a belated Mother’s Day. Mum was happy with the selection and quality of their plants, and there were some very appetizing cakes and treats in their shop, but their cafe seems overpriced for very average food. The chicken cordon bleu was a bit hard, seemingly overdone, and a glorified chicken Kiev, and the burger was also quite tough and overdone, and dry because of it. I dare not try a slice of their tray bake at over £5 for a slice, it was no longer reasonable.

I'm so confused based on other reviews, friends had recommended as well, but it seems they only meant the cafe. This is a multilevel environment with no signage how to get between the levels (it's hard if you are outside with a trolley to say the least) I have never been more frustrated trying to find my way around and get back. Inside so may Isles are not large trolley friendly and you have to turn round and find another route because they are too narrow or blocked. The angles on the pathways are terrible, as in slanting, impossible to steer a trolley with anything on anywhere without assistance from someone (which I didn't know and didn't have) you get straight again having moved to the front of the trolley to pull it round and then you hit a trench for a drain in the tarmac added after the tarmac was laid and the trolley stops dead and everything falls off. If I hadn't had my 4 year old daughter with me I would have left the whole lot there and walked out at this point, I was genuinely hating my choice to venture out at all let alone come here and in serious ankle pain. On reflection I wish I had abandoned the the trolley and fallen goods, we followed the solo sign to the tills, a cafe, where do we go, nobody to help there, wander along and find an entrance and ask someone yes through some random gap in the wall. Once again poorly laid out, had to go down another isle as there was a guy blocking the main way and then caught on overhanging goods for sales that meant going round. My daughter described it as the puddle place to my wife as the car park is so poorly maintained I had water come over the top of my trainer trying to strap her in. If it could be my first 0 it would, I've never not enjoyed visiting a garden centre but this is it. If it wasn't in Cambridge they wouldn't survive as we have such poor choice they know people will.

Restaurant staff could do with proper customer care training. We weren't shown to our reserved table. We sat for 15 minutes before we asked for service only to be told you must place your order at the counter. After paying for our food, we were told there was a 40 minute wait. We found out by chance that there was an electronic call system when your order was ready. Severe lack of obvious information offered to us, the customer, to make our visit more enjoyable. Fish and chips was superb. Lemon Chicken very poor. Regretfully, we won't be rushing back anytime soon.

To be totally honest spending £20 to see Santa and for two gifts for our children it wasn't really worth it as it was just a shed and a couple of trees, I was hoping for a little more magic. One of the gifts was probably worth about 4 o 5 pounds so feel a little short changed also the pencil sharpener just disintegrated whe the first pencil was being sharpened. The staff and Santa were great I think the setup let them down.

There’s not many vegan options to replace cheese or milk. There’s no vegan options at all for cupboard stuff in general, unless the product is vegan by nature like passata etc. the quality of veggies and fruits is great. There’s products that I can also find at Sainsbury’s which is 5 minutes away, but this orchard charges you about 1 or 2 pounds more for those same things. The plants are overpriced. A red Christmas plant was 25 pounds at a point. In general, you find decent stuff, but be prepared to pay more for it. It’s the same decent stuff you’d find in a chain store for less money. Lastly, The thing that stood out for me was the lack of diversity in the staff. Most of it is white English women, and I’d expect to see more gender and nationality diversity in any 21st century staff. Anyways, good place, weird vibes.

The mushroom was a joke it had been cut in half and the other half appeared to be on my husbands plate, I address this with one of the waiters, he did offer to get it sorted but let’s be honest who wants a warmed up breakfast, to say disappointed is an understatement, now wish I had spoken to the manage, I believe he did stick his head out the kitchen but not once did he come and speak to me directly. We called in on the way home from Cambridge for a cappuccino and tea with two cream teas. The queue was lengthy and the "service" was very slow. No offer of help to our table was made and I had to ask for it. Seems disabilities don't matter ! I returned to our table and the tray was duly brought. I didn't notice the cutlery in the plant pot as it was hidden by paper serviettes so I went back to the serving area and asked a young lad where the cutlery was. The reply was a very abrupt, "It should be in the b***** flower pot on the table". Sorry I asked. Sorry I didn't have the intelligence to notice it in the first place. Sorry to have troubled you. Sorry you were stressed and didn't want to be there. I returned to the table and lifted up the serviettes which revealed the cutlery. Deep joy. Eureka ! The scones were very warm which is probably why they were soggy in the middle. More like dumplings than scones. We ate them regardless as I just couldn't be bothered anymore. We then had a further very long wait at the exit tills when my wife paid for a new dress. Again, lengthy queues, which was not surprising as the checkout staff were clueless and there were several customer problems in front of us having problems with scanning and paying. The bloke trying to sort things out had no idea what he was doing and there were trip hazards everywhere behind the tills by way of boxes, baskets and detritus. What a shambles. The Blue Diamond headquarters on Guernsey is brilliant and I am surprised they allow Coton to be run in such a shoddy fashion. Anyway - long story short - we won't be coming back to this dump.

Awful- we have been three times recently and we arrived early for food. All the tables were taken- reserved by people in the queue so my pregnant friend had to stand around while I stood in the queue. It took so long to get to the food choices that my lovely pregnant friend had to sit down or leave. We went to this cafe because historically it has been amazing with service and food. It was made clear in the past that you couldn’t reserve tables- so everyone queued.

Good place to visit if you have children as there is a nice play area within the cafe. However, last few visits have been disappointing. Food doesn’t seem freshly cooked, bacon hard and dried out, like it’s been sitting around for a while…… rolls never buttered as stated in menu. Today no butter anyway, only margarine. Staff seem unhappy and apathetic. With inflation and increasing prices everywhere eating out is a considered option. On a positive note scones and cakes look good and no complaints with coffee and teas but a definite downturn in cooked meals.

We had to wait over an hour for our food, as did most other customers- simply unacceptable not to warn people when ordering that the kitchen were short staffed, no chef, and everything in chaos. It’s also unfair on the staff desperately trying to placate hungry and angry customers. Apologies were slow to materialise. Either close or reduce your menu or offer free coffee- will not visit again till you sort out the staffing.
