Myself & my friends popped into The Crown at Litlington. The moment we walked in the door there was a frosty, Hostile feel, for everyone to turn around and stare. We were then welcomed by the rather gruff Landlady/Barmaid, without even saying anything demanded to see my ID (i.e hello) even though I have visited this pub before. I have never been asked to see my ID even though I am 29 years old. I mistakenly forgot my ID, I had lemonade which was presented in a pint glass. At this point the atmosphere was still poor, so me & my friends decided to leave. Which was ashame as all local pubs seem to be struggling in the current economy climate and you would think a small local pub, would be happy for the customers and make you feel welcome and want to stay there. For this reason, me & my friends won’t be returning.

We visited The Crown as a small group of bikers/trikers. We were warmly welcomed by the landlady and locals in the pub and unusually food was available on a Monday night. We had fish and chips with mushy peas which was filling and well cooked. Very good value for money too at only £5 each. The chef came out to talk to us and he said that he and his wife Sharon had only been running the pub for three weeks. We’ll definitely be back on another Monday night, hopefully with a bigger group next time.

Family party of 11 had a smashing time yesterday at The Crown for hubbies 70 th birthday. Food was fabulous and plenty of it. The children had plenty to choose from on the children's menu but could have opted for the pizzas (which from experience are the best we've ever eaten) we were all very well looked after and they were happy for us to take the birthday cake to finish with. The children were provided with colouring books to keep them amused so we were all able to relax over coffees at the end a perfect do! Many many thanks to Ken, Gosha and Zoe.

Cosy pub offering a good selection of ales and brilliant Sunday roasts - generous portions without compromising on quality and fab veg selection.

I decided to turn left instead of the usual right and try a different route to my usual destination. Tucked in Litlinton is this Pub, "Yes" was the answer to my question of "Are you serving Food" They produce a leaflet of Whats on in the Pub During the month of September - in their "around the world" between the 6th September and the 9th - it is USA. That was what I chose. BBQ Ribs Starter - these were absolutely delicious - so tender and moist, fell off the bone. Fingerlicking for sure !! Next, I chose Southern Fried Chicken - the chef says he only cooks thighs mainly, not a bad thing as these tend to be meaty and moist. The coating was yummy. These were served with Sweet Potatoe chips and a chunk of sweetcorn. By far the best choice of dessert I could have made, that was the Plum and Apple Crumble served with custard. Choice of Drinks, Bar Lady/Waitress service - same person for both areas reached via the bar (for her). Chef/ Owner also served to ensure food remained hot. Not the poshest of environments, but clean, very friendly, extremely warm welcome. Very good atmosphere and from the waves of laughter heard from the bar, people definitely relax and enjoy themselves. It appears to be mainly a couple who run the pub/ restaurant area, with adjoining landlord/lady/family accommodation upstairs. New ventures maybe? They are doing well, lovely couple and family members observed briefly early evening. Other activities through the month range from Karaoke; Music Quiz; Pie Night; Steak Night; Every Saturday evening two courses for £12.00; Sunday Roast Returns £12.00 (different size portions available); Bingo; Pensioner Lunches Tues - Saturday £6.00. Even have Pizza Options - prices range from £5.50 for 8" - £12.00 for largest 16" Different leaflet every month. Option to either eat in - or call in the order and take-away. Highly recommended - Give them a try. I myself cannot wait to return to this lovely and welcoming village pub.

Probably one of the nicest roast dinners I've had was 10 out of 10 and you got a good plate of it, Will definitely be retuning.

Our over night stay The White Horse in Barton Cambridgeshire. After phoning in the late afternoon, the owner booked us a room in the pub, he said as it was last minute the room was not warm yet, but he said it be ready when we would arrive, and it was. We had a very warm welcome enjoyed a glass of wine and a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor bitter, wonderful quality. Jeremy the owner made as feel at ease. We had been here before about a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed the pub.

Had lunch one weekday last week. Despite a large group before us the food was served reasonably quickly. All the food was good and quantities were good too. The service was good throughout and decent value for money. Would return.

Updated: this is one of our regular pubs and we enjoy visiting and will visit again. It's dog-friendly, has very welcoming staff and a good beer selection. Perhaps the food isn't what it once was, and it's now more hit-or-miss, and I felt there was a tendency to overdo the mayonnaise, tomato or BBQ sauces, even on salad. The "normal menu is often very good, though we had a cassoulet previously that wasn't a success. Being a quiet Saturday, we had a mix from the street food menu, and regular tapas, including parsley risotto (very good), cauliflower florettes (not our favourite), BBQ corn ribs (again, I felt this wasn't to my taste) and beef brisket (okay). There's a pleasant area outside for a drink on the lawn, and comfortable chairs out back for when the weather is good. Automatic addition of 10% service to food bill (we had no problem with that, as the service was excellent and the staff clearly flagged this up). Looking forward to our next visit, as is our dog as there's a welcoming bowl of treats on the bar.
