Fantastic village pub with a great garden and added bonus of an outside bar that also does the best cocktails at a great price. Happy hour 3 till 7 Mon to Fri is a bonus when you finish work and fancy a beer. Great atmosphere and the staff are very happy and helpful. Leon's food is delicious 😋

Food is phenomenal and the live music is fantastic if you get the opportunity to get on over there even if it's not a live music night it's worth it for the food and atmosphere, and there range of drinks are brilliant too. Absolutely top!

Since the opening hour shown in Google Map is wrong (12pm on Friday), I do not have my lunch here. Instead, referring to the information given by the lady inside, lunch is only available at weekend.

Got to say bit underwhelmed. Went for Sunday lunch after seeing post saying great roast on facebook. Puke at entrance to pub and a number of dead flys stuck on to the window next to the table. Id not been to pub so probably should have researched. Small portion of pretty dry chunks of lamb over cooked. I had 2 roast potatoes which seems small portion. £25 seems expensive for location and quality / quantity of the food. Good bits were Yorkshire puddings / sticky toffee puddings. Staff friendly.

The people are very nice here. a typical British village pub. But the export beer is significantly better than the local one. You should just do that try to have it done.

A very friendly pub with a welcome for everyone. As an ale drinker, the beers were excellently kept by the landlord who clearly has great cellar skills.

Website and Facebook etc. say they do breakfast 10-12 on Sundays. Walked over at 10:30 with my family who were visiting, only to find the whole place closed up and no sign of life. Real shame - not only a waste of our time but a loss of business for them! Won't bother trying again in a hurry

You can't beat meeting up with your mates for a pint and chinwag. The waggon is the place to do it. Great atmosphere.

I found this to be a solidly average pub with a lovely exterior in a central location. The barmaids seemed to know the regulars, which is a good sign. The burger I had was pretty decent, though I nearly chipped a tooth on a none fragment, that happens. The sweet potato fries were okay, and the salad had good veggies, though no dressing at all. A pint of Doom Bar was either just over £7, I was mischarged, or the menu isn't accurate, but that's pretty typical of an average pub. Seemed very popular with locals!

In my opinion a pub which is more suitable for locals than tourists, the beer garden is dilapidated, and in need of some love and care.

Great place for a couple of drinks and Sunday lunch!

We phoned to ask if they offered a roast carvery, the lady said that they do and so we booked in. When we arrived we couldn’t see a carvery anywhere so we asked again and the lady said “Yes it’s a carvery, we bring your dinner to you”. Very disappointing & misleading. We asked to eat in the garden as it was a hot day and was surprised to see that the garden was still very messy with the dirty glasses and full ashtrays from the night before. We cleared our own table and sat in the sun. The garden was an eye-saw with an old mattress leaning against the wall! The dinner was served quite quickly and was ok, it was quite small, not much meat and Aunt Betsie’s Frozen Yorkshire puddings. Also, they didn’t have any Horse Raddish to go with the Roast Beef dinner?!? Sadly we weren’t very impressed with the beer garden or the dinner and won’t be going back. My husband was impressed with the selection of beers though.

Average. Try to watch the football but no volume. Nattering women taking up best seats infront of the tv. Gutted. What is the point in paying a lot of money to get Champions league and not have any sound. Not for sport fans. Friendly staff but so disappointed, pick - Football or music and food. I endorse this pub for the following reason: dining out in UK is generally 'painful' as it can be expensive and the portions are rarely generous. I mean you are not encouraged as you are in Greece and Spain for example! The actual management, while I am speaking, offers a menu (yesterday they delivered an excellent pizza!) with reasonable prizes that has boosted the experience in the pub (previously an 'Osteria' tagged as 'expensive'). The atmosphere is friendly and you feel like you can order more because it is fair. Well done. Keep going.

After dropping of our 3 youngest children in milton, we were at a loss. So decided to try this pub. (Only one never been in) we ordered a meal. Staff were friendly, liked a banter, the place was clean and tidy. The beer was good. Our meals arrived fresh, hot and very tasty, not to expensive but very filling. We will definitely be going again.

A friendly welcoming pub who really put themselves out to host an end of season celebration party for our Milton Colts U13's football team on what was already a busy weekend for them (beer festival, FA Cup Final & Royal Wedding). Thank you for looking after us so well.

Myself and four friends went to the Waggon and Horses today. We had the Carvery and key lime pie it was absolutely gorgeous. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Pity the coffee machine was not working. We will be back. Thankyou very much

This Elgood Pub has now reverted to a drink only bar, so no food. Good range of Elgood beers plus guest beer. Inside is clean and fresh.

Yo estaba verdaderamente triste cuando oí este restaurante había cerrado. Son la gente más encantadora que que merecen. La comida era maravillosa y si hubiera sido servido en el West End de Londres sería recibido comentarios favorables. Deliciosa y auténtica como no he experimentado fuera de Italia, y también algunos vinos realmente inspirado. El servicio era atento y amable y muy personal. Realmente los propietarios bien y buena suerte para el futuro. Que se merecen.

Este es un hotel de primera para mí sólo para marcar el triste cierre de este excelente restaurante. Nico y su equipo proporcionan la más innovadora cocina italiana en cualquier lugar en Cambridge e incluso más lejos.

No esperes que los sospechosos habituales en pizza y pasta. La comida es realmente como estar en las partes más remotas de Italia. Es imaginativa, de alta calidad y si esta comida se sirve en el West End de Londres, sin conseguir comentarios favorables y precios elevados. En cambio, esta es un antiguo pub en un pueblo de Cambridge y así que los precios son muy razonables y el servicio amable y atento. Desde la primera vez que vine aquí nos hemos convertido en clientes habituales, ya que realmente es excelente. El pequeño tapas platos estilo fantástico para conseguir un sabor del restaurante y su Pasta es normalmente las tipos con interesantes rellenos/coberturas. Los panes caseros son deliciosos y la lista de vinos es muy razonable e interesante. Este restaurante nunca decepciona.

Siempre tenemos una excelente experiencia en Osteria. Los platos italianos son recién preparado, siempre deliciosos, y el menú está lleno de autenticidad y pasión del chef. Fuimos a comer hoy y todo estaba perfecto. Poco a compartir aperitivi para empezar, además de excelentes platos de pasta valor para nuestro plato principal. El menú infantil fue encantador y nuestro bebé disfrutamos inmensamente (Silla alta y cambiar a los bebés disponibles también! ). También hemos tenido los menús de degustación en el pasado y fueron exquisitos cada vez. Debes ir!

Esta fue nuestra primera vez en este restaurante 17 / 03 / 17. Fue una noche de viernes muy tranquilo y sólo había 6 de nosotros en el restaurante. El camarero era muy buena y nos dieron un gran servicio con un sentido del humor, falta gente lo había mucho ambiente, pero al menos había música. Teníamos 4 diferentes tipo de tapas italiano plats, además de pan muy bonito pero caro. Teníamos dos diferentes platos principales, la comida era fresca y no un mal sabor, pero nos decepcionó algo falta, estaba recién preparado y no teníamos comida barata, 2 cervezas y un vino. la factura era de 70 libras, lo cual me parece que es caro.

Y otro habitual increíble experiencia. La comida siempre a un gran nivel. Fresca, innovadora y deliciosa! El chef Luca nunca parecen salir de ideas para llevar un toque moderno a la cocina italiana tradicional.

Este lugar es fantástico, mi esposa y yo tuvimos una noche increíble. Siendo la mitad italiano soy muy exigente con la comida italiana, pero me encantó. Mientras no encuentra platos tradicionales, el enfoque del restaurante de comida es totalmente Italiano - tome ingredientes locales y les haga en algo delicioso. El formato de la comida italiana. Antipasti, pasta, platos principales y postres. El menú es pequeño pero todo es excepcional.

Great Italian food and service.

Realmente sabrosos bien preparado pasta y risotto, lista de vinos y experto camarero decente. Complace ver una rampa en la entrada y toulets en la planta baja, aunque el inodoro puestos en las mujeres eran muy pequeñas. Hay aparcamiento para unos cuantos coches justo fuera. Elección de tres platos de pasta por 7 libras en el almuerzo, pero fuimos a la carta, todo bien.

Yo uso El Osteria como un gran lugar para los negocios tranquilo empaquetadas. La comida es buena y el menú variado con un montón de ofertas especiales. Por desgracia casi siempre es tranquilo, que es ideal para una comida de negocios, pero una pena para los propietarios que cocinar y servir comida tan brillantemente. Es una excelente relación calidad-precio.

Este es sencillamente la mejor comida italiana que he comido outtside de Italia. El menú es auténtica y emocionante y la comida siempre es fresca y sirve muy bien. El servicio es impecable y amable y discreto. Precios muy razonables. No puedo recomendar este lugar a fuertemente para aquellos que disfrutar de la auténtica cocina italiana

Nice food but a little bit expensive

This is homemade Italian food at its best, matched only by the service. A dinner that puts a smile on your face. The bread is to die for, you can have it on its own instead of a starter. Great gluten-free options too. Make sure to save some room for the delicious gelato too!

If you want to taste some authentic Italian cuisine, just don't miss Osteria Waggon and Horses. I took my parents, my colleagues and finally my family there and we all agreed the food is not only very good, but it's authentic Italian; hard to find elsewhere.

The mood is set as soon as you enter the Osteria when you are greeted warmly by Nico, even if your last visit was some time ago.I have so far only been at this restaurant for several modestly-priced lunches. The lunch menu has now moved away from being a set 3-course menu to starting with a choice (or several shared choices) from up to ten small plates, all, while being influenced by Italian cuisine, demonstrating the originality of the chef. These can be followed by, should you have room, a more traditional pasta dish, and a dessert.I am looking forward to my next visit, which I hope will be in the evening, when the menu seems even more enticing, because I'm sure it will move my appreciation to a still higher level.

Do not expect Pizza, this is real Italian food served with a smile, a good wine list and beers from Elgoods.Fresh cooked breads and a wide range of antipasti to begin, main courses that make it difficult to leave room for the excellent deserts.We have had many great evening and Sunday lunches since Osteria opened. i have not tried the weekday business lunches but I am sure that they will be as good.

Delicious again. Have been living in Cambridgeshire for 7 years and just found Ostetia Waggon & Horses. I can't believe this restaurant isn't packed every night. It is better than most locally and well worth trying.

Please don't visit this restaurant as they only have about 20 covers and if too many people discover how great it is I'll never get a table!The food is fantastic (as good as Il Picolo Mondo), it has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere and delightful staff.As good as anything available locally and a must for Italiophiles.

Our third visit here and we are never disappointed. The menu is always varied and full of different things for us to try. This time it was the homemade spaghetti with squid ink and cuttlefish. It might have turned our tongues black but it was simply superb. To start with we had both the cheese and antipasti sharing plates with a selection of small plates. Delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will most definitely return.

Visited with friends nicely surprised. It was very quiet which was a shame. The menu is limited, but proper Italian food. There is no skimming on the quality. We shared little tapas dishes to start with freshly made bread.The fish soup was full of chunks of fish very tasty. The pasta freshly made. Panna cotta with bacon butter scotch sauce divine If this place was in centre of cambridge there would be queues out the door. Cannot wait to return.

Large group for business with two tables joined.We had lots of starters to share. Which were the highlight of the meal.I had the steak for the main dish which was a little disappointing. The pasta would of been a better choice.Wine list is limited but decent.The only reason for me not to return as a normal booking, would be the seating and surroundings.

This place was a great find. They serve homemade Italian food (fresh bread and pasta) at a very reasonable cost with great service. They offer tapas-style dishes as well as conventional meals in homely ambiance. There's no doubt that I'll be returning. I wish I'd found out about them sooner.

This is a fantastic northern Italian style restaurant. Everything is prepared from scratch in house. If you want real Italian food, not your typical high street fare, get ready to be impressed. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Simply the best Italian restaurant meal I have even eaten. Such a surprise given the fact it was in an (ex?) pub called the Wagon & Horses, and in a small town. Simple but nice ambience, appetizers all chalked on a blackboard, fascinating menu... My wife's appetisers included a sea trout gravalax with mustard and dill sauce, and I had "Spaghetti di Gragnano and Cromer crab with sea purslane and toasted seeds". Stunning. If you're anywhere near Milton, go to this place immediately!

Went here for dinner with some friends. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The pasta was fresh and obviously homemade. The best thing was the sage ash on the side which just melted on my tongue.

Discovered on Thurs with the girls: shared delicious Italian tapas-style starters, chunks of warm Italian breads, plates of unctuous Gragnano pasta and we couldn't resist the desserts! So impressed that went again on Friday for our Wedding Anniv; shared an abundant platter of many Italian meats and hearty main dishes. And that scrumptious bread.The service is delightful and genuinely Italian. The menu has a good selection of truly Italian dishes, with daily specials. And the menu definitely changes daily.It's a hidden gem which we will definitely visit again soon with others and we highly recommend.

Really great food, not the usual pizza and pasta. Great little 'meze' style starters from £2.50, and unusual mains. Great food, well presented. Staff very attentive, explaining the menu in a helpful way. But the room was quite cold. Will return when in the area again.
