Just a short pleasnt walk along a well signposted path from Rectory Farm it was a joy to enjoy a beer or three without the need to drive and it didn't disappoint. We booked which was just as well as the restaurant was very busy and popular and we managed to team up with a German and Belgian couple at an adjacent table for a very pleasant evening. Olives on the menu for starters followed by the whole plaice, clams, cockles and mussels with chips and of course the local beer. Great service and attentive staff some of whom were learning but it didn't detract from a fine meal.

Had my birthday party at the plough in April, we hired out the marquee in the garden & it was the perfect place for a party. The marquee is a very good size, i had about 100 people and it worked perfectly. The marquee has its own bar & there is plenty of space to have a dj & a dance floor! The manager also helped us to find people to decorate and someone to hire a photo booth from. Overall the whole evening went very smoothly and the staff were amazing, Pasky and adelina were very helpful when trying to organise this party and i would 100% recommend the plough for a party!!

We were fortunate enough to have our wedding reception at the plough. Everything was to a high standard and nothing was too much trouble. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. The food was also excellent and any dietary requirements were catered for even last minute when children changed their minds. The quality and quantity of food was outstanding, all our guests couldn’t praise the food , service and surroundings enough throughout the day. In the late afternoon we moved to the marquee to continue our celebrations which was a lovely space to use . We visited the pub before but will surely be more frequent visitors. We recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Glorious Sunday lunch here today and a wonderfully warm welcome from the team. Delicious beef, tender pork, the roast potatoes were a triumph; we absolutely love the veg presentation in the sharing bowl. See you again very soon!

A really lovely find. Varied menu, lots of choice and excellent service. Two of us had the fish and chips, not really sure the curry sauce worked, but an interesting edition. The chips were the let down, big chunky with the skins on so some were cooked better than others.

We spent Christmas Day 2024 at the Plough - the first time we had ever eaten out on Christmas day as a family - and were really impressed with both the food, service and the atmosphere . Mick and has team were extremenely accomodating to our party of 9 who's ages ranged from 7 months to 77 years (!) and the whole afternoon felt enjoyable, unhurried and full of festive cheer. We also really appreciated the presents for the children which was a lovely touch. We will definitely come back!

We spent a wonderful New Year's Eve in this lovely and picturesque restaurant/pub. Everything was set for a fun and highly enjoyable evening from the moment we arrived and went through the wonderfully decorated doorway to be greeted by the very welcoming and helpful team with glasses of bubbly. Our every want was catered for throughout the evening and the dinner was really excellent. The party atmosphere lasted all evening, the DJ certainly knew his stuff, and we all welcomed the New Year in great spirits. I hope not to wait until next New Year before we visit again. Thanks very much to Pasquale, Benita and their team for a lovely start to 2025

We recently celebrated a 21st birthday dinner with family at The Plough in Coton, and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a memorable evening. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, providing attentive and friendly service throughout. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, and every plate was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The attention to detail, from the delicious starters to the indulgent desserts, was outstanding. The cosy setting was ideal for a family celebration, and the team even added special touches that made the birthday feel extra personal and meaningful. Thank you to everyone at The Plough for helping us create such wonderful memories. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for any special occasion or simply a great meal out. We’ll definitely be returning!

I booked ahead for 3ish for 3 people. Arrived and it was busy as expected but this didn't affect the service at all. The atmosphere was lovely surrounded by all walks of life and was very pleasant. On the day I decided I didn't fancy a roast dinner so was happy to see the Burger on the menu 😁 the girls went for the generously portioned roast dinner and were blissfully defeated! A dessert was also had ... the sticky toffee was a great finishing touch 👌🏾 hence the photo was not taken as it was devoured!

What an amazing venue! We decided to have a party for our daughter here and to use the plough as the venue in the marquee they have in the garden. Was the best idea. The kids loved it. It was dressed so well in the disco theme we wanted and looked amazing with a Photo Booth done for them to take pics to keep. And much more. Well managed and bar stocked well for the kids and food provided that disappeared as soon as it came out so much have been good! Nothing was to much for the staff to provide and Pasky organised and was on hand all night for anything we needed. We will be back for all our family events. Roll on my birthday!

Very good atmosphere, attentive staff including a lovely welcome from Pasquale, the manager. The food was really, really good, and there was an excellent wine list which catered for all our food pairings. The restaurant was full on a Thursday evening, and Christmas meals are sold out ages ago…. So this is a marvellous place to go.

We decided one evening when visiting Cambridge to have our evening meal at this public house. We had pre-booked and on arrival was taken to a table for two. It did take quite a while before out drinks arrived and we both ordered the same meal the neck of lamb. We were very hungry and imagine my shock when this very, very small meal arrived! There were no vegetables and no potatoes or fires. After eating our meal we paid, which took quite a while and we were still hungry and yet the price for our meals was not cheap and this was a pub not a restaurant. I would advise anyone visiting Cambridge to explore some of the many restaurants in the city and then you will not be disappointed.

If you’ve not been… you have to go!! We haven’t been for years but were wondering why on earth not (mostly geography), especially now the place has been taken over.. We just had a very spontaneous celebratory lunch for my Mums special birthday. And Wow. The food was superb. The service was excellent. AND the deserts were EVEN better (Rhubarb and custard cheesecake 😋)

Had dinner on Saturday night. Service was excellent and attentive, the food was very good indeed well presented and tasty and on warm plates. Also had Sunday lunch which was sadly not up to expectations or mirror Saturdays standard. Chicken terrine starter was mostly new potatoes but with a very small piece of terrine which although tasty at £8 was poor value. The roast beef was vary tasty with a good homemade Yorkshire pud. This was sadly let down by small roast potatoes which should never have left the kitchen, inedible, overcooked and hard as rocks. One may ask why we did not bring this to the attention of a server, we would have done had we been asked if our food was ok but we were not asked until our plates were cleared and as most of the potatoes remained on them it must have been obvious at that point there was a problem but nothing was said. The young lady who presented our bill did ask if all was ok and we mentioned the potatoes but of course this was to late. To summarise, the Plough has a very pleasant atmosphere and Saturdays dinner was very good giving us high hopes for Sunday lunch which fell well short of the previous nights performance. The Plough was very busy which was great to see and is obviously popular, perhaps we were just unfortunate, we would certainly go back but perhaps not for a Sunday roast.

Embarrassing seeing my Father try and choose which if his 4 tiny potatoes he was going to eat first. Got home and followed it up with some nice lunch at home. Yeah it's one of those places. Shan't bother again - leave it to people with large wallets and small stomachs. Then I explained our hunger predicament (you'd have thought we're in the right place to address this) and enquired after some bread so we might leave vaguely full - 5 adults & one child eating, so queue 4 slices of bread, no butter despite asking. All was enjoyed whilst sitting next to the aircon outlet.
