Honestly the worst burger I have ever had in my life. I got the blue cheese burger for almost £10 without fries.
Every ingredient was cheap and poorly applied. The cheese was disgusting, tasting like cheap microwave macaroni cheese meals. The patties themselves were thin and overcooked. The bun was falling apart. The onion chutney tasted off.
You couldn't pay me to eat this, let alone charge £9.50 for it. Hopefully the loaded fries are better, but whatever you do don't go here for a burger.
Edit: I see the owner tried to play this off as me not liking blue cheese and wanting something milder? I eat a lot of blue cheese, that's why I ordered the burger. It was just rubbish. The cheese was way too mild, I didn't even believe it was blue cheese
I went to this restaurant today at 23:27, even though their listed closing time was 00:00. When I walked in, there were two staff members, and one rudely said, "What are you doing? We are going to close. Didn’t you see we mopped the floor?"
First of all, there was NO sign board indicating a wet floor. Second, if you’re open until midnight, why are you acting like customers are a problem? When I pointed this out, they didn’t even apologize. Instead, one of them just asked, "What do you want to order?" If you’re closing, why ask me that? The whole experience was confusing and unprofessional.
To the restaurant management: If you’re closing early, lock the door. If the floor is wet, put a sign board. If you stop taking orders before closing, make that clear. And most importantly, teach your staff basic manners—a simple apology goes a long way.
Would NOT recommend. Avoid this place!
The restaurant was almost empty, no more than eight tables full. There were several staff, maybe six, and a manager. Service however was exceptionally slow and several staff walked past our empty plates and ignored them. We got to the dessert menus and perused them and ten minutes later when the waiter came to collect our order we said we will have two of the roulades and she said ‘no you won’t’ then paused and said we don’t have any and we also do t have any x, y or z either. We then decided just to leave without dessert. If there are things you don’t have then you should say when you give out the menu to manage expectations. Poor service but the pizzas were good.
I was very disappointed of my food, I order ramen brisket noodles but the beef is soggy like a mash potato and the noodles taste bland and the soup is not that hot when it serve.
I decided to try a traditional English breakfast at this café that I used to frequent several years ago. What I appreciate about this conveniently located café is that it’s not trying to be something it clearly isn't—a fine dining establishment! If you are someone who is very particular about hygiene, décor, furnishings, and the presentation of your food, you might be better off looking further up the road. This is what I call a no-nonsense cafe, you get what you pay for and nothing else.
That being said, aside from the fried bread that I do not usually eat, I happily devoured my meal, which, along with a mug of tea, cost £9.30. The staff member taking my order was both professional and friendly, and during the short time I was there, I noticed several Just Eat pickups, during my short visit, suggesting they have a popular takeaway service.
If you're driving, keep in mind the parking costs; there are very few free spaces available. However, there are several reasonably priced car parks nearby, with rates starting around £1.60 per hour or £6.50 for the day.
Very over priced for what you get, had X2 cookie dough desserts with a coffee and a milkshake (pretty much just cream with a dash of chocolate sauce) which came up to £35, small portions will not go again,
One of the best Costas in the country. Excellent Lattes produced.
Special mention to Demetrius, what a very friendly hard working guy, a real credit to the business, & no, I’m not related!
