Still freezing cold with that door always open. I'm now going to Gregg's.... I was told that something would be done about the door but that hasn't happened yet. Pity because the coffee isn't bad.

This place has become so bad I had to leave a review at this point. The WiFi barely works - even then its range is so bad you need to be in a certain small area to pick up a signal, and there are constant dropouts. The haven't had decaff coffee for over 2 months at this point. I'm not sure if this is a franchise, but the management seems utterly incompetent. The staff seem completely disinterested and its often full of private school kids eating their own packed lunches, with their own drinks. One of the men's toilets has been broken forever - this place is always busy though (even though the kids don''t buy anything I guess) so surely they could do some maintenance. Avoid.

I enjoy going to this pret as I love the food and sitting in however unfortunately I can never get a seat to eat my lunch I’ve brought from pret. Everyday the seats get taken up by the sixth formers who sit there for hours and aren’t told to leave! Fair enough if they buy a drink or something to eat but today there were several students taking up the biggest tables upstairs with their own food and drink, meaning that myself and others who had brought pret food and paid to sit in could not get a seat. It’s a shame as I love getting my lunch from pret but will have to stop as it’s really unfair that they’re not told to leave when they’re not buying anything.

I have always liked Pret for its quality products However, since when has it been acceptable for baristas to dictate to the customer what they should or should not be purchasing? I ordered an espresso with a large cup of hot water as my friend likes a very weak coffee and can then add it to the water as appropriate. The young bearded barista took exception to this preferring me to buy a more expensive americano, “we don’t serve coffee like this” “ you’re going to add it to the water aren’t you”? I would advise the barista to be wiser in not presuming details of my friend’s preference. I understand to don’t necessarily need our custom as you’re a busy business with plenty of footfall but please train your staff not to presume. The customer is always correct when ordering.

No real complaints about the food but the lady who served me today was brusque and unfriendly. Also a bit much when you pay extra to eat in you get your drinks in takeaway cups and cakes in a bag. Also the place could do with a good clean.

The food is good, standard-issue Pret fare and if that alone were being reviewed, this branch would scare a solid three-to-four stars. The problem is that kids from the nearby Isaac Newton sixth form college swoop in packs at lunchtimes, take over the space, nick all the spare chairs, spread out their laptops and linger for ages with a single coffee or juice per table while chewing through food they've brought in from Greggs or McDonalds. I've been caught out a few times and it's extremely annoying to pay "eating in" rates and then find there is nowhere to sit. The loos are pretty grotty, too, which may not be unrelated to the issue above. I appreciate it might be a difficult issue for staff to resolve but this branch has to decide whether its a community hub or catering for customers who've actually parted with more than a couple of quid.

Called in for lunch today, as I always do when I’m in the city. Most of the tables upstairs were occupied by people in two huge groups, none of them earring or drinking things from Pret. One table, with 8 people sitting and another 7 standing, was eating McDonalds. Another table across the other side had 13 people, none of them eating or drinking at all. At one point two members of staff did ask all the people who were standing to leave the shop, but didn’t address the table covered on McDonald cups and bags, or the table (actually it was 3 tables pushed together) with 13 non customers on it. On top of that 3 tables were taken up by people on laptops. I understand that you want to encourage people to feel comfortable in the shops, but surely that has to include paying customers too? I’ll come back in the Summer when I can sit outside and feel comfortable.

Wanted a late snack/coffee Saturday afternoon. Food was 10/10. Coffee was fine. Complete let down though compared to other ‘cafes’ with regards to any guidelines following Covid-19. No tables are sanitised before or after each customer. No staff checking customer seating arrangements. We bought food and drink and stood around waiting for 15 mins while another family walked straight in and grabbed a table in front of us before purchasing anything. Place is filthy.

The place was busy and picked up a egg mayo sandwich and a hot drink. Very disappointed with the sandwich as it was highly seasoned with pepper and salt. I could taste both and not the egg.

Food and coffee always great, I eat here 3 x week, but tables are never cleaned or cleared. I just wish they had a member of staff going round wiping tables, but of course don’t be silly as that would cost money.

We like Pret outlets and use them often but this one is in a disgusting state. Ok the food and coffee were fine. The state of cleanliness of this place was disgusting. We had front window seats, the bottom of the window were covered in mould and manky looking food and condensation. I would recommend using anywhere other than this place until it sorts itself out.I will not waste my money on a disappointing experience.

I recently visited this Pret a Manger outlet as a support worker with the person I support we needed to access a toilet on the lower level of the building.I had several members of staff asking if they could assist.I later returned but forgot to get a receipt, for my employer's,and during a very busy period the manager accessed several tills to trace the receipt for my records. They could not have been nicer.Well done Pret a Manger for your customer service as well as an excellent choice of healthy options.

Niza limpio Pret.

I popped into this branch of Pret in December, after I had taken my children ice-skating, for a hot drink to warm us up.I wanted to order a regular hot chocolate for my teenage son, a regular hot chocolate for my young daughter, and a regular hazelnut hot chocolate for myself. I didn't think this would be a complicated order at all, but apparently it was.I first off asked the young lady serving me for "One regular hot chocolate ..." to which she replied "what sort?". To which I replied "just the normal hot chocolate you serve" to which she again replied over and over again "what sort? I need to know what sort?" I was completely baffled and the server got very frustrated with me. I didn't understand what she meant because I was clearly asking for a regular sized standard hot chocolate so I asked her to rephrase. She then said she could make it hot, or cool for a child. I was unaware this was an option but anyway opted for the hot option because my son is a teenager. She then continued to insist she could make it cool while I tried to convince her my son wanted it hot! Eventually after a long and very frustrating and embarrassing exchange about this my order for that hot chocolate was placed. However, pleased there was now a cool option I then put in my order for my young daughter - a regular hot chocolate but in the cool version she had offered. I then put in my own order for my own regular hazelnut hot chocolate. Finally we had purchased our hot chocolates and went on our way, take-away hot drinks in hand. We were some way from the shop when my daughter tried to drink her hot chocolate and burned her mouth - the "cool" hot chocolate was scalding hot! She had not been given a "cool" version at all, and therefore her whole insistence by the server that she could make it cool was either completely untrue or a waste of time. What's more, when I tasted my own hot chocolate I had been served the mint variety. I cannot stand mint and therefore I had to dispose of my hot drink and go without.I felt I had wasted my money and been embarrassed in the process. Won't be returning.

Decided on a Pretty coffee today. This is a busy join and the staff are under pressure. Being served seemed to be an inconvenience to them. 5 staff behind small counter no space to move and getting orders mixed. Not a good start to a relaxing coffee. I suspect there was some training going on, but guys don't flap. Coffee and Danish was very nice.

Few months ago I moved to Norwich and first couple of weeks were cold and lonely. I was warming myself up in this cozy Pret with their welcoming staff (Ashton a specially), fresh food, and hot cup of chai latte that I started to drink there. I created my little habit coming there almost every day and it’s breaking, because I can’t get my favourite beverage anymore.:( this is a genuine sad face of your customer, Pret!

Went in at lunch time during the week and it was really busy, all felt a bit rushed and the tables were mostly cluttered or dirty. The food is ok but nothing spectacular. I used to love going to Pret but they don’t seem to have most of the popular items anymore such as the cheese and tomato croissants. I had a toasted sandwich and a juice, like I said it was average but I wouldn’t rush to eat there again anytime soon and especially not at those prices.

I prefer independent coffee shops, but for chain places Pret are one of the best. My salmon sandwich was excellent and the filter coffee at under a pound is great value. The staff were pleasant, and though you might find places with a bit more individuality this is not a bad choice for lunch.

Pret Is one of my favourite places to have a coffee, a light lunch and relax on a Saturday morning. Excellent selection of homemade soups and food at prices that don' t break the bank and great coffee. Brilliant place to watch the street performers in the summer. It is also an ethical restaurant selling locally sourced and organic food and drinks.

This is where I go for breakfast on my days off. The food is excellent and I love their strong cappucino. It's just a great place to hang out for an hour. There appears to be a strong team spirit amongst the staff and it's clear that stringent food hygiene measures are in place. Love it.

Visiting Norwich and needed to stock up a bit, so this was the closest store to us. Did shopping and wanted to use the toilets before leaving, like you do. All toilets near the cafe were closed! Luckily there was a disabled toilet on the next floor down, but very surprised this was the situation, especially on a busy Saturday. The queues to the single disabled toilet were very long too.

Absolute disgrace this place 2 door man trying to start a fight as best they can with an over 40/50 year old men. Shoving 2 men to the floor and provoking and being aggressive , but only because we older and didn’t want the hassle , we walked away. Another person might end of started a fight which they obviously wanted. STAY AWAY . DISGRACEFUL PLACE. STAY AWAY.

There were two tables occupied at around 4pm, 3 lots of people waiting for drinks and 4 members of staff working behind the counter, and 1 refilling out the front. We felt like an absolute inconvenience, but hung about waiting 5 minutes to place our order. We received no acknowledgment in this time, until my partner and I shared a ‘should we just go?’ look, which prompted a staff member to say ‘ill be with you shortly’. It seemed chaotic behind the counter, no order or logic to who did what, and overheard another guy waiting for drinks say that he’d been waiting half an hour for two takeaway drinks! We waited at the counter for 10-15 mins for two toasties and two coffees. Our toasties came out quick, but drinks took forever, despite having two robust coffee machines capable of allowing two members to be simultaneously making drinks. By the time our drinks arrived our toasties were pretty cool, and one of our drinks was accidentally put in a takeaway cup. Coffee was awful. We choose costa because it’s consistent (usually) and you know what to expect. The milk was burnt and the baristas skill didn’t compare to our local costa (Broadland business park). Won’t be returning, if they can’t get it right when it’s quiet and there’s plenty of staff - when can they?!
