Verity was awesome! She’s really friendly and in no way, shape or form did she encourage us to develop a drinking problem. She’s a credit to the Lamb!

Do not recommend. Have been here before and had lovely food so thought we knew what we were in for. Noticed there was a slight refurb done with multiple screens up so had lost some charm but still looks ok. However, food was not good. Burger missing cheese slice and BBQ sauce and only had a paltry amount on Mac & cheese topping it. Added to this the burgers were thin and over cooked so we're very tough. Jacket potato had about 5 tortillas on top and the chilli had obviously been nuked to the point that they were so tough they were inedible. Despite being very quiet nobody came to check if all was ok and it's not even like it was cheap food that you could forgive the lack of quality Never going back there again

Popped in as we hadn’t been in since it was done up. The atmosphere was brilliant, lovely cold pint. People behind the bar were really friendly, I would say reasonably priced for a city pub. We went while there was a quiz on upstairs too so that looked fun. Looking forward to going back on a weekend day, I bet it’s mental.

I have been coming here for a few weeks now, I only ever have a couple when I come in but it’s become a bit of a local for me. The service and the drinks have always been great, haven’t tried the food yet but maybe one day. Normally get served by either Harry or Emily and both are always so lovely and polite! Cannot do enough for you! See you all in a couple of days.

Always visit The Lamb every time we go to Norwich. This time they was just about to close for refurbishment but the pub still had a great atmosphere and a good range of beers, wines, sprits and food in stock. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The pub is a credit to the city.

Popped in for a drink, was some sort of closing party with a DJ. Asked why they are closing and it’s for a refurbishment. Asked a few more questions and it sounds very exciting. Will defiantly be back on 25th September when they re-open.

Never been so insulted anywhere like we were tonight!!!! Ordered food and drink and sat outside, firstly the wrong drinks were bought out to us by the rudest bald guy I’ve ever met. There was no table number on the table so we asked a young lady what number it was, she told us to order to 63 and she’d tell them where they were going. Lo and behold they went to the wrong table. We asked said bald man how long they were going to be as it had been about 20 minutes. His response was that someone else was drinking the drinks and that because he’s in a good mood he’d replace them! I explained that I asked someone how to order and he said that it wasn’t his problem and that we had ordered wrong and that we wouldn’t be so lucky on a different day. Regardless of who was at fault that type of approach towards paying customers is disgraceful and he shouldn’t be working in a customer facing business if he hasn’t got the ability to handle situations, especially one like that that is pretty easy to rectify. An idea for you, why not number all tables before asking customers to order on the app! Will definitely not be returning and will be informing all of my colleagues at aviva how shocking this place was as I know they use it a lot.

Came for drinks with some work friends. Was served really quickly and when we ordered cocktails the lovely young man Harry behind the bar informed us that it was 2 for 1. Well happy with that! He even took the payment and bought them to our table as there was a few ordered. Really happy with the service and the drinks were lovely. New local for after work gatherings. Thanks Harry!

Came with friends and was served by Harry, very welcoming and friendly and cant wait to come back. Was a big fan of the events they have on weekends as has a really nice atmosphere

Popped in on Saturday. Got told there was only seating outside for the game and it was a find yourself a seat job. Ordered a lovely 4 pint picture and enjoyed the game. Good wide range of beer and enjoyable atmosphere. Bring on Wednesday

Came to watch the England game. What an atmosphere, entire pub was packed so we used the app and it was really quick despite how busy they were. TV’s everywhere so everyone could watch, DJ before and after the game. Great night.

I use this pub quite often after work for a pint. Never been let down, fresh cold and clean pint, friendly staff and a great vibe to the place. Can get really busy but really enjoyable.

Tried our luck for the England game as a group of 5. Had to wait around 15 minutes to get in as we left it too late. Got in and the place was such a vibe. I’m not surprised people are having to wait to get in as it was packed. Got our drinks and enjoyed the night. DJ in the garden was a beautiful touch, proper got the crowd going. Definitely a hot spot for football.

Booked in for food and drinks on Friday with family and it was lovely from start to finish. 2 for 1 cocktails went down a treat. Served by a whole bunch of lovely friendly team. There was something going on behind the bar that had them all laughing and it was fun to see them having fun while working, it made our night enjoyable. Food was good and out quickly. Great pub for gatherings.

Great food at competitive price. Good choice of food. Catered for dairy free diet. Good range of drinks. Service was good and staff very friendly and happy. Nathan the young manager is doing an amazing job. Will be back in June to try the new afternoon tea. Well done everyone.

On a day out in Norwich. Better than my last visit and got served this time. Still a lively venue and glad that the service at bar has picked up!

Visited on Sunday with my mum and toddler. We both opted for the roast pork which arrived promptly. The pork was delicious and melted in our mouths. We loved that you could order extra potatoes, yorkshires and gravy. Mg daughter had the roast turkey and this was a good portion and again the meat was lovely and tender. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast.

Very disappointing, extensive menu but most of what we wanted was unavailable. Waited ages for the food, and when it arrived 3 out of 5 meals was incorrect! It would be fair to say the food (mains) at best was mediocre, although the starters were good. The manger was pro-active in addressing our poor experience, in way of a refund for the incorrect meals, but it still ruined our family night out.

It says there are vegan options, there were three vegan options, a pasta dish, a house salad and a burger. I opted for the burger. It was dry and tasteless. It looked like a wrinkled up chicken breast that had been over cooked. The chips were good but there were only 12 of them. Not worth the money (£15) and I was still hungry when we left. The roast dinners that my family had looked ok, I’d have loved a vegan roast and they are not hard to make, but there was only a veggie option. We won’t be going again.

I have had a very good experience at the pub on a very busy Sunday and would like to thank verity and Nathan for the service I received from the two people that serviced me the bar staff were very polite but I only got two names as mentioned. The bar was busy,but most of all it was clean, tidy and dry. It was mother's day and I was pleasantly Impressed and I will be back again hopefully with friends as soon as possible

Visited during half term. It was busy which I do appreciate but the food quality was poor. Staff polite and happy on ordering. However given an empty mayonnaise bottle and was never checked. Kids chicken was great. However my fish finger sandwich had very little filling and my husband beef sandwich was missing the chesse and gravy. I did email to try and resolve but noone has bothered to reply.

Went for dinner on Thursday evening with my partner. Pub was really busy, slight delay getting served but it was justified as it was packed, which to me is always a good sign. Food arrived quickly and was really tasty, hot and the service was exceptional. First time here and will definitely be returning.

Absolutely appalling service. One bar staff on duty serving a male customer. I was stood at bar waiting to be served. Two young girls arrived at bar and a male bar person, dressed in checked red shirt and tattooed served the two young girls immediately. Apparently, he was the manager. He did not even ask who was next. When I challenged his behaviour. He offered no apology but instead said “it’s not like that I’m gay” what’s that got to do with anything. When we left the two bar staff said good night. The manager never spoke. This used to be such a lovely pub. I won’t be back. Visited Feb 27th 6pm

We arrived on a busy Saturday evening for a drink with friends. Loads of seating inside and out Very helpful staff and great selection of drinks

Popped in to watch the football on Sky Sports, lovely venue, friendly bar staff. Good range of beer to try. Not easy to locate, but behind Debenhams empty shop.

We were greeted by friendly faces and quickly served by our server Nathan who was very accommodating. Drinks were perfect and so was the atmosphere was only meant to be a quick stop however the service was so good we stayed for one more. Will definitely be returning

You do not even deserve a "1" today. Bar unattended I waited and waited and eventually gave up after 5 minutes. Found another pub that actually serves customers )

Return trip after 40 plus years when it was one of the first to have an open buffet, obviously all changed now. Looked forward to what we ordered and paid for until an apologetic waiter told us it was on their till by mistake and wasn't available, he immediately offered a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. My second choice was also not available so we went for the gammon and hunters chicken. Both were well cooked, really nice with good portions. The cask beer was excellent. The staff were lovely, friendly and genuinely apologetic about the mishaps. Mistakes happen, its how you get over them that counts and they did admiraly. We will definitely return and would be very surprised if the next visit didn't result in a 5 star review.

Came in for drinks, sat at a dirty table although not over busy so had time to clear. After 2 rounds ordered nachos as a sharing dish, paid £12.50 for a plate of nachos with very little cheese, sour cream and guacamole. There were no napkins available and I felt the price did not justify the dish served.

Stumbled across this gem while out with the family. I was not disappointed, the service was impeccable and the food was just as good. I wouldn’t hesitate in going back. Go and you will not be disappointed.

Came before Christmas with friends for our annual Christmas night out. We had a great time in the Lamb, all the staff were friendly and pleasant and drinks were reasonable for city centre. We will be back

I went for lunch with ladies from our Church to the lamb Inn today..For a large group the attention to detail was so good. The quality of the food was excellent and the ambiance very pleasant..Jo couldn’t do enough for us and we will be going again.

Poured Gin and tonic into a dirty plastic glass only then to be told they had no ice. No white wine in fridge (served from shelf) and beers in wrong glasses. Could probably excuse if they were busy but the pub was quiet.

Portions small,I’m not a big eater this meal left me still hunger , mussels in the shells very small probably over cooked , not a lot of sweet fries bread just sliced bread very disappointing , we did get 2 free drinks because we waited...

Absolutely awful. Asked at the bar if we could order food. Was told yes if we could find a table. I asked if I had to order at the bar. Was told yes and there was a bar upstairs. The only table free was upstairs...

Came in for Christmas Eve lunch. Awful food- stale burger buns and over cooked burgers. Terrible service- seated upstairs and not told to go down to the bar to order so left to sit there for 20 minutes- went with 2 kids and no kids...

Some good, some bad my Steak was petfect but my peppercorn sauce was minimal...My Wifes Venison pie was pretty hollow espessially for the £17+ price. Kids meals good value just a shame it was my Wifes Birthday treat.

Went for lunch today with a friend. Took an outside table and waited to be served, eventually had to go inside to order our drinks, where I found staff standing chatting away to each other! Then again had to go back in to prompt them to come outside to take our lunch order. They apologised this time.Food order was wrong, we were overcharged, no condiments, do I really need to go on?Lovely old pub, been going there for many years, but my friend said this time "I think it's time we found somewhere else", which says it all really!

Abrupt front of house. Asked to leave after 90 mins.... our time was up. Fairly dire food and drink. Definitely not one to re-visit.

I’ve seen lots of negative reviews for the lamb but I’ve only ever had a great experience - very friendly and accommodating staff, warm and generous outdoor seating (ideal for current restrictions), good food for a fussy plant-based eater and just general good vibes! Will be back when indoors has opened but looking forward to sunny visits to the beer garden this year.

Thank God lockdown is over (Monday ! ) as I won’t ever need to sit in this places garden again. Drinks are way overpriced and the food is the worst kind of cheap microwaved pub grub at tripple the prices of Spoons nice grub ,which btw is just over the road folks( just not enough outside space unfortunately).Norwich has lots of pubs but not that many in the city centre especially with outside space but now we’re ‘allowed’ to go inside pubs just make sure you don’t go in the lamb. Oh and the young staff are all trained to be COVID jobs worths.

Eastern European lady with the huge blue and green finger nails on front desk was so so rude!!! Totally made the experience of going out for friends bday not fun. She told us off for being late (we had to wait 10 mins in queue to get in). We then had to wait ages for drinks to come and then she came storming to our table saying ‘u need to leave’ at 5 mins before our booking stopped.

We booked a table to have drinks and arrived at our allocated time to the booking in area. We were met with a stern glare and barked out orders and rules with no social niceties that you would expect in any establishment. The lady in question, Maya had incredibly long blue pointy finger nails, which didn't look conducive to working within the industry...Her appalling and abrasive manner instantly put a negative spin on an otherwise enjoyable evening out with friends. Also at the end of our allocated slot we were told we had to leave which was fine as we knew that was our slot. However, there were numerous other empty tables which had been so all night, so we asked if we could move on to one of those. This wasn't aloud in case someone else came in... You would have thought they would be only to pleased to have a full table spending money.On the plus the seating environment was clean, spacious and warm from the heaters.We certainly won't be returning.....

First thing to mention is the lovely lady who seated us , she was funny , friendly and started our visit off with a smile. Food was lovely , I had a chicken with pulled pork burger , lovely taste and ample portion size , finished off with a few gin and tonics. Great atmosphere and ample outdoor space. Staff attentive and friendly. What more could you ask..

Appalling Breakfast named Avacado on TOAST well very disappointing a submarine roll with thinnest ever avocado and ONE egg on the top. Definitely not seen a toaster at all.

Met my sister and a friend here today for a meal, which we enjoyed. The Hunters Chicken was delicious.For me the main downside was that the service was slow and when you needed to get the waitresses attention you needed several attempts as they seem to ignore you and take their time to take your order. Made me feel that I needed to send a message in semaphore or morse code to place it.When the food came as said we all enjoyed it and would give it a higher rating on that, but just let down by the service unfortunately.

Myself, my partner and her brother came here only last night as it was one of our favourite places to go before lockdown, so we already knew everything there was going to be good!However, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the service, cleanliness and general atmosphere of the place has gotten even better! Everyone was following Covid-19 safety rules without any upsets, each staff member that we spoke to was extremely friendly and provided a very fast service with both our food and drink orders, so we were never sat there waiting for long periods of time despite the amount of customers there. The prices were very fair, the drinks delicious and the food fresh and enjoyable - Plus the fact that there were heaters everywhere so we weren't freezing all night long was a big bonus! Also there are TV's on all night along with some great music playing gently in the background, perfect! Do visit this wonderful venue on your night out in Norwich, you won't be disappointed and to everyone who works there - A HUGE thank you!

Staff really friendly despite the challenging times - we took our dogs and sat outside under the really effective heaters. Friendly atmosphere. Staff offered the dogs water which went down well!

Upon arrival we waited for 5mins for someone to just acknowledge us. That didn’t happen so we walk in and was told to go back out and they would seat us. We did this we chose to sit outside, again we waited for 7/10mins still no one came over so once again we got up and asked if someone would come to take our order. When they did I was having the steak. I was asked which steak I would like and was then told they didn’t have that one so chose the other steak; to which the waiter replied we have NO steak - laughable why ask which I would like. We left

If you want an edible burger, you’re better off trying to eat something off the floor than trying to order food from here. My burger tasted like cardboard and they gave me some extra fries haha! Drinks are average though.

Myself and two friends decided to try somewhere different, never again will we enter this expensive spoons pub. Had our table booked for 12:30 and finally ordered at 13:10 by a waitress with the personality of a zombie. 10 minutes later the same waitress said that both myself and friends burger was unavailable so we chose a different burger. Another 10 minutes passed and we were told again that this burger was unavailable as well. We both ordered something different. My burger arrived with 15 sweet potato fries present, not even an exaggeration. A five year could have demolished my meal. My friends starter also came without any cutlery, we asked for some and 5 minutes later they eventually came with the cutlery, by this time the food was cold and I had already finished my ‘mcchicken sandwich burger’. All meals were luke warm when they arrived and my friends steaks was cold, not even an hour later we’re all feeling pretty dodgy....coincidental I think not. On a positive note the front of house man was very welcoming, explaining restrictions perfectly and even cracking a smile.

The food was as cold as Antarctica, me and my partner were devastated we are big meat eaters and the food was very cold and stodgy. The chips came out like icicles, the beer was watered down and the onion rings had seen better days. We are really upset with our visit. Also microwave ribs are never a good shout. Next time I will stick to good old greggs. My partner came home and decided he was still hungry and during this hard times of covid, we can’t afford 2 meals a day. Many thanks, please heat your food up otherwise people will get a runny stomach.

Myself and two other friends met for lunch at The lamb inn.Table was booked for 12.30, wasn’t served until 1.10pm.We ordered burgers, to be let down TWICE on two different burgers that were out of.We then changed our meal for the third time.. when the starter came out we had to wait 10 minutes for cutlery so the food was cold by this point.The steak was cold and and chewy, literally could get better out of Aldi’s.we left disappointed BUT all THREE OF US CAME DOWN ILL AFTER EATING HERE.Every single one of us has ended up being sick hours after eating here. With stomach cramps from hell and sweating and shaking. I don’t call that a coincident! VILE.

We were very disappointed to find that having chosen our food ftom the menu the waiter informed us this was not available. The waiter took our second choices but then returned to say one of these was also unavailable. He then returned with a menu marked with the available dishes! Why were we not informed of this on entry or after being seated?. Our drinks order was also similar with no real ales avaiable. We nearly decided to go elsewhere but stayed. Fortunately the food ( burgers) was good although these were plain with no trimmings as per the menu. A couple near to us ordered standard liqueurs andagain these were not available. We appreciate these are difficult times but customers should be forewarned of the limited menu and drinks.

Had a wonderful meal here last week, the food was fantastic and our waitress was amazing! She was a total credit to the team. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, thank you! Can't wait to go back.

The pub was lovely, staff friendly. The app didn’t work so we ordered with a staff member. They were attentive and friendly. I ordered hunters chicken and my husband ordered a double cheeseburger. The food arrived quickly but my chicken was the worst piece of chicken I have ever seen or tasted. So tough I couldn’t cut it or chew it. The waitress took it straight away and I had a chicken burger. My husbands meal only had a normal one burger not double. His other burger was brought over in a bowl when my 2nd meal turned up. The chicken was better but the coating was undercooked and I had to take the coating off. Just as I got o th end of my meal I found a thick black hair. I wanted to wait until a waitress came over but my husband just wanted to leave. Really disappointed.

Really lovely building and decor but that's where the nice comments start and finish unfortunately. I ordered the Hunters Chicken and my girlfriend ordered the Fish Pie. Within I would say about 10 minutes the food was there which is never a good sign. The bacon on my chicken could have been revived by a good vet! The peas were hard and dry and the chicken itself was quite rubbery. We have eaten here before but probably over a year ago. I'm not sure if the pub became part of the Stonegate Pub Company after we were last there because the meal was substantially better than this time. I don't complain about food because if they can't get it right the first time they ain't having a second crack at it.My girlfriends peas were the same as mine also. Good craft beer but is not enough to make me go back here. Shame as it's a beautiful building.

Just the most miserable staff I’ve ever come across. Rude and patronising. Customers aren’t in just to annoy you.

Been here twice recently...once for a birthday meal which was lovely ,food was hot and tasty ( no mint sauce for the lamb but.....) so we decided to go back for another family occasion. My food was lovely but my friends hunters chicken was dry and not very appetizing..... the lady that seated us both times was lovely/happy/cheery singing away... the other staff and especially the social media staff would learn alot from her. Really should have nicer responses to questions asked on Facebook ...and not have to wait a week either ! More training needed obvs

We had been to the Lamb before, pre-Covid, and were disappointed that we were sat near a side exterior door that the staff kept leaving open. But nevertheless, we went for lunch while in the city with our dog, as the pub was listed as being dog friendly online. On arrival, we were told we couldn't sit inside with our dog as they had staff that had allergies. Fine on a mild autumn day, but any colder and this would have been an issue. Then we were told we had to order using the app, but the craft beers and ales were not on the app, so had to try and find a staff member to take our order. The menu doesn't have any lunch or lite bites section, so we ordered a sandwich and chips to share, which was plenty for two for lunch. Overall we were underwhelmed. Can do better.

Only the second time which I had been here since lockdown was lifted. We were four people and had pre-booked. We were checked in at the gate and those of us with the NHS track and trace app used the system.We had a socially distanced table and, instead of using the pub's app to order, a waitress took our drinks and food order. Our table was near the exit door, which was continually left open and soon the manager moved us to a table well away from the door. Good customer awareness!The food was all good, one of us having the fish pie, another the lamb shank, one fish and chips and one chicken. For desserts we each had something different from crumble and custard to eton mess and sticky toffee pudding. As you can see the menu is extensive.The service was outstanding. The waitresses were friendly, happy and enjoying their jobs. The manager was attentive, such a good experience.

El sábado a la hora del almuerzo, no estábamos reservados y tuvimos suerte de conseguir una mesa. Se han implementado muchas medidas covid y el personal está haciendo un gran trabajo en circunstancias difíciles.No es un gran WiFi, así que luché por usar la aplicación, pero la camarera tomó nuestro pedido y nuestras bebidas llegaron rápidamente. La hamburguesa era buena y las patatas fritas agradables. El rollo de pollo estaba bien, pero un poco seco.Preciosa zona de estar al aire libre, ¡lástima que estaba lloviendo!

Vinimos aquí solo para tomar algo después de almorzar en Norwich.Nos detuvieron en la entrada del patio y nos pidieron que hiciéramos el inicio de sesión de la aplicación de seguimiento y rastreo del NHS. Luego nos sentamos a la mesa. A great place for a pint in the city, very safe Covid practices, app works well for ordering at your table, staff pleasant and efficient. Well played guys!

Visité la semana pasada y decidí comer. Hacer un pedido a través de la aplicación es fácil, pero el problema es que una vez que su comida está frente a usted no vuelve a ver a ningún camarero. La comida estuvo espantosa. Mi marido tenía una ensalada que era muy apetecible, las patatas fritas estaban frías, mi sub de pollo era enorme pero frío de nuevo y los trozos de pollo eran demasiado grandes para comer en el sub roll que estaba tan seco como un hueso. Las opciones de vino están limitadas por la copa y las bebidas que quería, por alguna razón, no estaban disponibles. No es un lugar que recomendaríamos.

Had lunch all ok , lasagna was nice but a small portion, glad I ordered chips with it or would have still been hungry

Me alegro de haber encontrado este lugar. Tenía una joya de patio al aire libre, un oasis dentro de la ciudad. El personal era muy amable y trabajaba muy duro. Era el primer día de la "regla de los 6" y se aseguraron de que supieras que no podrías estar en grupos de más de esto, incluso si veías a algunos amigos allí. El servicio fue rápido y eficiente. La comida estaba bien, comida de pub sencilla.

Me alegro de haber tenido un 50% de descuento, si hubiera pagado el precio completo me habría sentido robado, las reglas de covid seguían impecablemente, el pub encantador, el servicio está bien, pero mi pescado gran cantidad de masa grasosa, el pescado adentro era de hecho bastante pequeño se colocó en mis pocos patatas fritas y guisantes y tenía grasa goteando por todas partes, la esposa tenía una porción muy pequeña de lasaña y ensalada principalmente lechuga.No pagaría el precio completo si fuéramos a Norwich nuevamente.

Realmente disfruté de un asado de verduras los domingos, buena calidad, verduras bien cocidas (no demasiado blandas), servicio amable y eficiente y un entorno agradable. Nos sentamos adentro, pero la mayoría estaba tomando el sol en la taberna al aire libre. Solo problemas menores que me impiden dar 5 estrellas: las papas asadas no estaban bril y podría haberlo hecho con un poco más de salsa. Para el pavo asado, tienes que pagar más por los cerdos en mantas, lo que parece un poco mezquino. Sin embargo, definitivamente regresaría.

Bonito edificio bonito por dentro. Bien caro para lo que obtienes, la comida era insípida. ¡La hamburguesa de pollo se cocinó en la freidora y se cocinó hasta el punto en que el pan rallado se puso negro! ! ! ! Hubiera sido bueno si una camarera se enterara de esto, pero nadie vino a ver cómo estábamos para ver si todo estaba bien. ¡Recomendaría beber solo, no comida! ! ! !

Awful food - inedible and overpriced - food was disgusting fish tasted old and of nothing / kids burger was a joke looked like someone had taken a bite out of it - gross !!! AVOID!!!!!

Booked an hour before and had a really great welcome. Food was really good. Will be back. Glad I ignored the few recent negatives. We loved it

Due to COVID restrictions we were left outside in the rain waiting for 10 minutes for our pre-booked table whilst the attendant spoke to a large group who had not booked in. When we were seen, they sat us down and referred to the app for ordering and this was the last time we were spoken to by a member of staff. It took 40 minutes for our mains to arrive even though it wasn’t busy in the eating area. No one came to check on how we enjoyed our meals and we thought the food was very poor quality on 2/4 dishes and had complaints but there was no opportunity for this at all. 3/4 of the drinks draught ciders were flat and watery. We spoke to the girl on the front door at the end go complain and she made lots of excuses for the poor food, telling us the fryers were working all day as it had been busy so they couldn’t change the oil for the chips and that’s why they were poor quality... no offer of taking the meals (or reducing them at least) from the bill. She did offer us new drinks but by this point we were leaving. A really really poor experience and we definitely won’t be back.

I have already written to head office about the terrible experience we had here on Saturday .. ranging from a lost booking .. ( it was a birthday celebration for 11 people incl children and had been phoned through via head office a week and a bit prior to our visit to arrange socially acceptable seating ) to unreliable information given from head office re covid restrictions being totally opposite to what was being offered at the “ restaurant“ ( I use the term loosely ) .. customer service by servers was patchy but management was patronising and to be spoken to like children ( who weren’t actually welcome ) was simply appalling.Draconian but inconsistent covid measures in place regarding seating arrangements and family placing ..we were banned from table mixing when the table behind us had 5 people from 5 different families on it ... and who were “fraternising“ with other tables I’m not even going to bother with a review of the food. .. we were so appalled by the treatment that we basically ordered ate and left .. I can’t even remember what I actually ate ... totally understand the need for restrictions but at least be consistent and treat your customers as paying guests not lepers

Really helpful with our booking for 2 families and 2 dogs. Eat out to help out was great for us too. Everyone enjoyed their food, pub and toilets were clean and the staff really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend

Even though the menu was already limited half of the menu was not available. The food was substandard for the price and was unenjoyable and the wait times were horrendous

Six of us decided to have a bite to eat. I had been here for a drink a couple of weeks ago and felt safe and looked after. Booking a table is a good idea as it can get busy. Covid safe rules mean you order your food and drinks at the end of the bar, give your table number, pay contactless and then they bring everything to you. You can also download their App and bypass that entirely if you wish. Food was cooked well and was tasty. The staff are cheerful and friendly but also keep you safe.It was just lovely to all get together again. Remember though, SIX is the maximum number round a table.

Struggled to get in anywhere for a drink came across this place. Welcoming friendly staff very Covid safe and informative. Went for drinks but decided to eat too . Food very nice my daughter loved the vegan quiche and was amazed at menu giving quite a few vegan options. Lovely and clean well set out and a relaxing atmosphere enjoyed by us all.

The person doing Front of House was delightful and explained the Social Distancing politely , but firmly. The food was beautifully presented and reasonably priced. The steak was tasty and properly cooked as requested.An interesting pasta and beef pie in a delicious rich wine gravy gravy.

We visited the Lamb inn 3rd of August for a family meal. The set up was great as they had lots of tables outdoors and are well spaced out, precautions have been made due to COVID-19 such as a one way system going in to order food and drinks etc.Great atmosphere, very friendly staff And they are also taking part in the governments eat out discount scheme from Monday to Wednesday which was great. On the down side The food was not good at all.We had ordered two burgers, chicken bacon avocado salad and lamb shanks. Unfortunately all of the food was so dry and overcooked and very hard to eat and as we were so hungry we did eat it but would not recommend the food. Shame as we would of liked to of gone back had the food been good.

Very attentive staff who helped us move tables out of the rain, even with all the Covid measures. Better than normal pub food at a slightly higher price than some.

Been here before so booked a short break and once again.enjoyed ourselves. Covid security was good and the drink and food ordering was well managed. Great range of gins for the wife and beer range was useful.as well.

We visit The Lamb Inn tonight as we were staying in the local area, the welcome was warm and informative about how the pub is managing covid-19 and keeping customers safe. Hand gel and one way in one way out and track and trace. (I noted the negative comments on other reviews our experience was that this pub is following guidelines and we all find that hard but it how life is currently)We were seated and told 1 person could order both food and drinks at the bar and because we had children we needed to be finished by 8pm. Both my husband and children commented on how lovely the lady was who showed us to our seats.The drinks arrived within minutes of ordering and the food not long after. The food was delicious very hot and presented well, not one of us left a thing. Lovely pub worth a visit

We had booked a table at the Lamb Inn for 1pm on a Sunday with the idea of having lunch outside (due to being uncomfortable because of COVID) as this is one of the bigger terraces in the city. There is no option on the booking site to book a specific “garden” table - only a table. When we arrived the waitress very rudely informed me that there was no tables outside and that it was first come first served (no where does it say that online). I explained that we had booked and had genuine heath-related reasons for wanting to sit outside, she told us then that we could wait for a table to come free. We did this, as we thought this would be quick - and THEN she sat down a couple who had been behind us in the queue outside. When I confronted her on this, she said it was because “they were two” and there was THREE of us. Also the Lamb has mostly benches or booths so we know that whether there was two or three people on a booking, it is unlikely to matter. I then told the waitress that we would go somewhere else and she responded with “Okay be like that” in an incredibly rude tone. This is such a shame, as the Lamb does good food and had previously been somewhere that I had been a regular customer. Very disappointed.

8 friends went tonight. Seated us on 2 seperate tables away from each other /although there were loads of empty tables/ then they kept checking on us to make sure we wasnt talking to each other. /which we wasnt/ then they sent a security guard over to tell us he was watching us! We are a table of 30 40 50 year olds not teenagers! Going well over the top. Rude and intimidating. Dont go there! We ended up in Louie Marche much more accomodating and pleasant

The Lamb opens at 12.00 midday. Several minutes before that there was already a queue. With the need to take tracing information, we waited about 10 minutes to reach the front where the new process was explained before we were taken to our table. To order you have to use an app on your mobile phone, so we had to upload the app first, then order from a disposable menu and pay, again using the app and a credit card.This all took several minutes and whilst you could order drinks with the app the choice was limited so there is a separate counter where other drinks could be ordered, thank goodness, that was the only method to get real draught beer.Once actually ordered the drinks and food came reasonably quickly. The scampi and chips was OK and delivered with tartare sauce sachets and, on asking, with mayonnaise sachets. The lamb shank was good and served with a very good selection of seasonal vegetables and mashed potato.From standing in line to leaving (via a separate exit) the whole process took about an hour and twenty minutes. The service was OK and attention to cleanliness was apparent. Social distancing was practised by the layout of tables, both inside and out.

Went during first week of lock down easing. Got a table easily. Social distancing in place. The staff being very friendly, but i feel very new. The food was decent and arrived quickly.

30th wedding anniversary and came to Norwich for a few days away. Booked a Table here and was not disappointed. Fi the manager was very welcoming and friendly and the waitress Ale that served us was equally lovely & polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Always drink here when we’re in Norwich and will continue to do so . Congratulations on your commitment during these unusual times . Floss & Pete Stocker
