The Bell Hotel in Norwich

My boyfriend and I visited the bell hotel today for some lunch after our shopping trip. We ordered some halloumi fries for starters which was lovely, we then ordered our mains. I ordered a chicken burger and my boyfriend ordered a beef burger. When I took a bite out of my burger it had a strange smell to it and it didn’t taste right. The burger was very soggy so I gave it to my boyfriend so that he could give it a try, he looked at it and the middle of the burger was completely raw. I didn’t say anything at the time because everything else was fine and the waiter was really polite too but after coming home I’ve realised that it’s not okay and that other people should know before visiting the bell hotel.

The bell Hotel very good for breakfasts I must say but when the food comes it can be quite cold I find but other than that a very good place to eat and for a good price. Drinks are also tap poured so that is a bonus for me. Chips are world class

I've visited Norwich eighteen times since 2004, only second time been in here, for which there is a very good reason. It's only good point is the location in the main shopping area. It's notably small for a Wetherspoon (though I understand there is an upstairs area), with few tables apart from uncomfortable high tables and chairs, and it just lacks charm. If you have ten minutes to spare do yourself a favour and walk down Wensum Street to the far nicer Glass House.

We were attracted to this pub by a very inviting looking terrace area on a warm sunny day. We had two small bottles of prosecco which were very reasonably priced at £4.75 each. We then realised it was a Wetherspoons pub, the terrace area filled up very quickly with an overwhelming smell of all day breakfast. But no complaints, friendly staff, good value and a nice outside seating area.

Terrible food like eating rubber Would never eat there again. Had two mixed grill and both of us agreed we couldn't eat spoke to staff But as it was football the place was packed and not enough staff waiting on tables and not very helpful

I've not been to a weatherspoons for a while, and I was very surprised. I'd forgotten the value, speed of service and quality range of drinks. Clearly, we are not talking high end, but it does the job it was designed to do. We had 6 drinks, 6 mains for £60. The beef madras was decent.

Had a great time. Had an even better time when the transphobic protesters were kicked out because of their hateful signs! God bless the staff here for standing up to bigotry!

Having dined here the previous evening and enjoying our meals the following day was a great disappointment. I ordered a beef curry with an extra samosa and bhaji and upon biting into my samosa found it to be frozen in the middle. Upon informing the staff of the issue a replacement (no chance) or a refund for the extra sides was offered. I accepted the refund but a bit concerned that this was not a great issue to the staff. Maybe it happens all too often. Hope it was and isolated incident

I popped in here for some food and beer during a recent trip to Norwich … The service via the app was very quick and the burger I ordered was nice … The beer was also very good .. Staff seemed friendly … I would visit again when I’m next in Norwich …

I went here on a blind date which turned out a disaster. The bar staff were amazing and couldn't ask for a better service from the security staff. I had to be discreetly escorted away from my date by security who couldn't of been more helpful and understanding. They took care of me and made sure I was safely in a taxi. Thank you so much guys.

Visited for breakfast with my family. Easy to order via the app and quick service. It's such a shame each time I've had a breakie at Spoons the beans are always cold!

Under duress and because my friend is a tight wad she said to go for their prosecco deal but once she had me there insisted on ordering food. I will never go anywhere with her again.

Popped here for lunch at midday and it was heaving we were lucky to find somewhere to sit, it was also rather loud and noisy, this is definitely one of the smaller wetherspoons we have been too. Like all Wetherspoons the food is great value for money.

I have visited twice this month, having previously regularly visited over the last 3years, when working here. I find the staff to be lovely, helpful, cheerful and pleasant. The food is always spot on for this kind of place, amazing value and quickly delivered. Nothing is too much trouble. Incidentally a young man was spoken to whilst I was there. He had been barred and the lady was firm and fair in how she spoke with him, leaving him in no doubt how he needs to behave should he wish to return, expertly handled 👍

What a rubbish pub we sat in the beer garden as we were visiting Norwich we had our well behaved dog who was under the table a gentleman came passed and we asked for a bowl of water while my husband went to order drinks another man came out and told me that dogs were not allowed by which time my father-in-law had paid for the drinks I ended up drinking my drink out on the pavement.

Located in the main shopping area of Norwich it is in a good place, it is very cramped and it does feel like you are crammed in. Food was nice, hot and came quickly but a very noisy pub, not recommended if you want a quiet meal or a conversation with someone! Ok, but wouldn't visit again unless it was for just a drink or out of meal time hours

Without doubt the best Spoons I have been to for food. And I've been to more than my fair share. My pizza was A*. Genuinely delicious, and not stingy with the toppings. The kids meals were appropriately portioned and cooked fresh. No anaemic peas, no hot-hold chips. Sadly this is well above what I've come to expect from Wetherspoon. I've long since adopted a 'you get what you pay for' attitude, but today was a welcome surprise as I felt I was getting more than my money's worth for once. I actually found myself eyeballing the plates of other customers to see if perhaps I had just been lucky to get a decent meal. But no, everything coming out the kitchen looked absolutely quality. Worthy of a special mention is the large mixed grill brought out to a guy at the table opposite me. It looked like it was taken straight from a menu pic or a spec card, the pièce de résistance being the fried egg. I have never before seen the perfect fried egg. The guy eating it definitely caught me staring, and I might've been dribbling by this point. Also worth mentioning that I interacted with 4 members of staff during my visit, all of whom were smiling, friendly and helpful. It was so Rainbow Rythms. So yeah, in conclusion: The Bell Hotel in Norwich is proof that Wetherspoon pubs can occasionally be equally cheap and good. For that it deserves 5*. Props to the kitchen manager cos the food was exactly as it should be in all their pubs.

Best spoons in the city! Fab service today from the team over lunch. Super busy pub but managed to find a table to wrangle the gaggle of kids with our large group. Staff were accommodating and friendly, helping us the best they could. Will definitely visit again with the family.

We have eaten at wetherspoons all over the county, but in the last 6 month we have found the quality and hygiene have slipped appallingly, today we attend the Norwich restaurant, the order I placed I explained was for a person with cancer so had to be too the letter, they got the order wrong, when I approached the manager, he couldn't see what was wrong or my point of view, eventually we where given a new meal after waiting nearly half an hour, the place was dirty had to clean my own table. and considering there was a summer fair on the place was half empty. the only wetherspoons we will eat in now will be Dereham which we can't praise enough for hygiene staff and good food, Norwich never again.

Le expliqué que no hay necesidad de comer rápido, no hay nadie en el jardín y cogeremos las bicicletas cuando salgamos. Luego fue muy grosera, hizo un comentario sarcástico y nos dejó. Mi amigo no pudo terminar su comida, estaba tan conmocionado. Servicio impactante impactante. Decepcionado. PD: la persona que sirvió nuestra comida fue encantadora y debería ser ascendida y el gerente despedido. La persona que barre afuera también estaba bastante fría y relajada y debería recibir un aumento de sueldo.

Apareció con la familia. La comida estuvo bien. Sus cucharas habituales estándar.Sin embargo, mala gestión del covid. Los inodoros eran gratis para todos (los secadores de manos eléctricos todavía estaban encendidos cuando deberían estar aislados y se usaban toallas de papel en su lugar).Muchos puntos de aprieto en las instalaciones que podrían gestionarse mejor.Por supuesto, el lugar estaba lleno de jóvenes a los que, francamente, les importa un comino el covid hasta que su abuela favorita lo consigue y muere. .No volveré a visitarlo hasta que se solucione el covid.NB: esto no es indicativo de los pubs JDW. Staff including the bouncer was very rude. Made us feel very uncomfortable in front of a queue of people. Made remarks a long the lines of “be like a normal person” not an ideal way to speak to customers. Very disappointed.

Primera vez en un Wetherspoon durante Covid. Este lugar era Covid Safe, bien organizado y entré varias veces durante mi estadía en Norwich. El personal usa ropa útil y, aunque probé la aplicación y de alguna manera no pude hacer que funcionara, el bar estaba disponible y sin problemas. No comí, pero el ambiente y el personal lo convirtieron en un gran lugar para estar. Recomendaría.

Debo decir que no es exagerado decir que mi experiencia en este establecimiento no fue agradable.Al intentar entrar al lugar con un amigo para ir al bar a tomar una copa, fui recibido por un portero grosero y hosco que engañosamente intentó coaccionarme en contra de mis deseos y mi voluntad para entrar en la premisa de que tenía que conectar mi iPhone a un seguimiento y rastreo para la aplicación Covid 19. . Me molestaban esas medidas draconianas orwellianas, como ser obligado a entregar mi dirección de correo electrónico y mis datos y tener que descargar una aplicación para que no se me niegue la entrada y solo para ir a comprar una bebida. Lo consideré ridículo e indignante. También se me dio la opción de entregar manualmente el correo electrónico y otros datos personales y pensé que toda la experiencia era invasiva e inaceptable. Un gran lugar para tomar bebidas baratas siempre y cuando no le importe que lo obliguen a entregar detalles privados y lo traten más como un criminal que como un invitado simplemente para ingresar al área del bar a plena luz del día solo para tomar una copa, lo siento, pero la campana Las consideraciones de los clientes del hotel son las últimas y, como tal, llevaré mi negocio a otra parte y espero que otros sientan y hagan lo mismo por qué soportarlo cuando hay tantos lugares con mejores vibraciones. .

I came here tonight after being a key worker as I wanted a relaxing drink with my house mates. I was very unhappy with the service I received I was half way in the queue when the bouncer came over to me and friends and he rejected our service. I am very disappointed, not only is this my local pub I feel slightly annoyed considering I came here after a 12 hour shift. I got declined in this pub saying I was ‘drunk’ when I’d came straight from work with no alcohol in my system. The bouncer came within 1 meter of me which made me very uncomfortable, there was also no hand sanitiser on the door. There’s a good job I carry some in my bag. The bouncer is not only making an offence to me, he is lucky that I didn’t report him to head office. I shall not be recommending this pub to anyone. Not very happy :(

This place is always busy but most of the time if your only a group of 2 you can squeeze in somewhere- maybe not so lucky when Norwich is playing at home. If you download the weatherspoons app you can order your food from your table and not have to tackle the busy bar, and pay on your phone.Even though the food and drink is cheap, it’s always been prompt service and tasty food. We normally go at breakfast or lunchtime and have their endless cuppas. You get an empty cup and can go up and down to the hot drinks station as many times as you like and there’s loads of choice, even decaf teas and coffees.The only negative is the tables are not cleared and cleaned quickly enough, often your grabbing a table as someone is literally standing up to go, and you pile all the dirty dishes up in front of you and it’s not cleared until your food arrives.

Such a big venue situated perfectly in Norwich. Visited with a friend for a drink. Very well priced. Service at the bar was quick. Tables were clean. Will come back for food next time!

Me and my partner came for lunch here today and I had ordered a panini. Half way through I noticed a small label in the other half. When I asked the shift manager about it he could not have been more helpful. We were well looked after and left as happy customers thanks to him.

Called in for a quick snack and a pint. Very disappointing to order a burger and after eating several mouthfuls I found the middle of the burger was not cooked. After complaining it was replaced after a bit of a wait but I didn’t really fancy it then. There were apologies but did not seem very sincere. The food is very basic but priced accordingly. Difficult to find anything cheaper but you know what you are going to get and is normally adequate and reasonable value. Very busy pub and difficult to find a seat at peak times

I visited with a friend before going to the cinema as we wanted a quick bite to eat. I was really impressed with the food and the service we received having downloaded the app. It was exceptionally busy but we didn’t wait too long for our food. Popped in whilst shopping, used App for the first time to order and could not fault the service. Drinks arrived in minutes and the food a little after, even though it was busy.Food was just as I like it, pipping hot, and very tasty. Since the re-fit this pub is much improved and now in my opinion the best Wetherspoons in Norwich.

Stopped for coffee after walking into the city centre from the station, it’s always busy in here, and the tables don’t always get wiped down as quickly as they should, but it’s Spoons !! Cheap decent cappuccino and a great location.

I love going here and ordering our drinks and food via their App. Last Saturday while there, our order of drinks arrived with a drink we didn't order. We told the waitress would said that we would be reimbursed for it. I was a little skeptical about this. But I had no need to be. Three days later I received payment back in my account. Brilliant service.By the way, I highly recommend their Pasta Alfonso with or without pulled chicken. It's to die for.

At peak times finding a table can prove a challenge. This spoons always seems to be busy. When you do find a table and its busy you are better off ordering your drinks and food via their app. Its quicker than waiting at the bar and being queue jumped which seems to happen a lot in spoons pubs. The food is pretty much the same as other spoons so no problems there. Its a labyrinth of rooms so if you can't find a table it may pay you to have a wander

Idealmente ubicado cerca de Debenhams y cerca del estacionamiento que habíamos encontrado, pensamos que pararíamos para almorzar. Fue solo mientras estábamos buscando (sin éxito) una mesa que nos dimos cuenta de que este maravilloso edificio estaba ocupado por Wetherspoons. El lugar estaba lleno hasta el borde y estábamos circulando con muchos otros como autos en un estacionamiento buscando ese último espacio. Nos fuimos y encontramos un pub mucho más tranquilo en otro lugar que servía comida casera.
