Lovely setting in the Forum so great for people watching. Easy parking and accessible by stairs or a lift. Delicious Nduja Calzone Tasty La Reine pizza Average Pollo ad Astra pizza Rubbish service I wanted to ask for chilli oil as half the chicken on my pizza didn’t have any seasoning and it tasted quite plain. Unfortunately although there were plenty of staff working, they were mainly inside chatting to the chef, eating dough balls or on their phones. When the waitress did come to check on us, we had almost finished eating and she literally said “everything OK “ and walked off without waiting for an answer. No offers to order more drinks or condiments. I had to go and ask another staff member for the bill after waiting too long, and then the waitress originally serving us just walked off when I shared my concerns with her. No apology or explanation. Serving is a tough job and staff need to eat, and they need breaks, but paying customers need serving

My prosecco was flat and they soon switched it opening a fresh bottle. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you 😊

We came to show our house guest from Japan what Pizza is like in England. Well that was an embarrassing mistake. We arrived and were waiting at the door for a good 5 minutes. No one even gave us eye contact. We were seated, no drinks order taken. We had to move as we couldn't hold a conversation. It was so so loud in there. People were making the usual level of noise but the acoustics of the room are such that it's awful. Eventually we were served, our order was taken, somewhat indifferently. The food took longer than expected for a wafer thin pizza and when it arrived quite a bit of it was burnt black. The knives and pizza cutters are as blunt as a blunt thing on National Blunt Day. It was almost impossible to cut them once they had gone cold as the pizza had turned into leather. Not once were we asked if everything was ok and no one came back to ask if we wanted any more drinks. When we tried to leave, the foyer area was bunged full of delivery men, blocking our exit. it wasn't nice to walk through. A very disappointing meal out, all the worse as our guest was treating us to the meal. Wont be back, thanks.

Staff were lovely. Pricing was reasonable. Order was prompt. What there was of the toppings was tasty. Problem was... The new thin and crispy pizza was soo thin - it was in fact thinner than a piece of paper. So thin you couldn't pick up the pizza. So thin - it couldn't possibly take the name "pizza". I actually was left hungry soon after the meal. I'm not sure if this is a new "lower calories" policy - or a way of decreasing costs or just an erroneous one off. But it left me feeling very underwhelmed and unable to recommend to others. Sorry pizza express. My birthday lunch treat was a little disappointing.

A busy evening, but the staff were efficient and helpful. With no booking, we had a 10 minute wait for a table which was kindly explained to us. Our drinks were brought promptly and our ordered taken. We had a fairly long wait for the food but it arrived hot and tasted good. The eating area was clean. Toby was particularly attentive and friendly checking on us and answering a question regarding the area of Norwich.

My wife and I had a Pizza here, the Pizza's were like children's meals, I had some chips with mine, I got eight of them. Pepperoni pizza had baby pepperoni's on top, you couldn't taste them, my wife had the standard tomato and cheese which was cold. Mind you they sat us out in the Forum lovely view of the church opposite, but pretty cold in February. Not a nice meal, trouble is I don't thing we will ever have a Pizza out again, I know restaurants are making savings where they can, but this was way too much.

A great venue for a catch up with family - 5pm table. Absolute rip off! I am happy to pay over the odds for a good meal and good service, but Pizza Express at The Forum in Norwich failed this time. Just short of £200 for 5 of us - for what, overcooked pizzas. The glasses for the drinks were tainted with a horrible chemical taste - who knows what dishwasher chemicals are being used. The starters were good, and very nice as always. Mains arrived before the starter plates were cleared away, so we had to ask the staff to clear these away before trying to serve mains - they were struggling to get the mains on the table. They found a spare table, then cleared our starter plates away. Then brought our mains over but no cutlery, so we then had to ask for cutlery. Leggera Gamberetti was a shocker - the middle just filled with grotty rocket with salad dressing drizzled over, the base was so crispy I could have used it as a frisby - really at £15.95! Crust not edible. Six of us in our party - 5 had pizza but we all struggled cutting as they were overcooked. Most of us left the crusts. cutlery not fit for purpose. 5 desserts order, 3 arrived - had to beckon over a member of staff to ask for the other 2 but during this time the 3 in the party had just about finished their dessert otherwise the ice cream would have melted. Coffee was just plonked down, spilt! Had to ask for a spoon to stir. Overall a terrible terrible time, and we will not be returning sadly. The above was all mentioned to the staff, we got an apology but overall Pizza Express need to get their act together. From other reviews we have looked at today - we are not alone!!!!

Packed in like sardines , other diners were so tight around our table of 10 we could hardly move Rude slow disorganised , uncaring staff who ignored us for neatly 30 mins . Main courses took 1 and a quarter hrs to arrive .. terrible slow service . One if out party left as her car ticket ran out before getting her pizza We had 3 kids under 6 in our party who never got desserts included in the kids menu as after sitting down at 5pm , we have up waiting for any sign of service on desserts and coffee at 7pm . Kids were falling asleep at the table My Caesar salad was the nastiest thing ever presented in a dish . Pizzas were average Waitress initially gave us a bottle of wine that had been opened and drunk from Replace that when we complained with a new unopened bottle .. but still corked and unopened ! As I don’t carry a corkscrew in my handbag we had to call her back If was like being served by children who hadn’t a clue No reduction in the bill for lack of kids desserts but by that time we just wanted out This place is a joke . Started off with a phone call early morning to ask us to arrive on time at 2pm and order by 215pm as they are closing early today at 4pm. Arrived and was sat at a dirty table not set, we had to ask for it to be cleaned which seemed an inconvenience! Starters came before drinks, mains lacking prawns and pepperoni! And then to be told at 3pm we couldn’t have any hot deserts as they’d turned the ovens off! At this point we asked for a manager who said this was wrong and apologised. But when you’ve spent over £200 you don’t expect any of this! Disappointing and gone down hill massively!

When we managed to catch the attention of a waitress on the way past, her immediate response was “I don’t think you’re my table”, not any offer to sort. Food is as expected, no real complaints as you are not filled with high expectations. The meal was tainted by inattentive and ambivalent low rent parents allowing their rat boy offspring to charge around the whole premises. I booked a table for 6.15pm tonight anticipating it would probably be busy. We got in at 6.10 and were seated. At about 6.25 with apologies for the delay our drinks and meal order was taken, no starters wanted just 2 straight forward pizzas. At 7pm we still had not had our food. I queried and they checked, sorry for the delay your order will be with you in 2 minutes ‘we’re very busy ‘.In the meantime 2 tables over a couple that came in after we had got our drinks so 6.30 ish got their 2 pizzas . Finally at 7.10, an hour after going into the restaurant we got our pizzas. When I complained the manager who brought our pizzas over agreed it was not good enough, did I want another drink. I barely had time to eat my pizza let alone drink another drink, so no, thank you, I did not want another drink! Clearly extremely busy and very understaffed. Not a good experience. And to add insult when the 2 Padang pizzas arrived they were nothing special. I have visited here many times before but during quieter times during the day and have never had these problems.I won’t be going at this time again as it was a disaster.

What's happened to Pizza Express? We've been many times over the years and have loved the delicious pizzas and creamy coleslaw. On this visit we ordered two thin based pizzas which were not cooked on the base and just a thin dough. We also ordered a coleslaw which was just grated red cabbage and carrot with very little flavouring. One beer and one small wine and £59 lighter! I must say the service was quick and the staff were polite. I know restaurants are struggling but so are the customers and to eat out should be a treat. Sad to say this was far from it.

Pizza Express do seem to move with the times and develop new and interesting flavours each time I/we visit. Romana Mare Rossa is their latest and their most expensive at £13.20 however, the fresh fish and interesting combination proved tasty and good value for money. Once again however my old complaint, service! Why is it that we are ceasing to be individual customers and more like cows being guided with care to our milking station and then put through a process not a dining experience? I know its only Pizza Express, but should that really matter? Still I/we will continue to go as the food is good and consistent, maybe that’s why the catering industry is well, just not trying when it comes to customer service.

We ordered a mixture of pasta and pizza. All of which took a very long while to arrive, once they did arrive the food was poor. The Lasagne was cooked to within an inch of its life (not sure if it was microwaved) the pizzas were dry and over cooked. We talked to friends who had been to this restaurant before and they said they had always had a good experience. We must have had a bad night.

Our little ones were very good, but waiting 45 minutes to get their dough balls seemed excessive. Lots of restaurants are able to prioritise little kids better and get some snacks out to them. Nice food as ever but wouldn't not take the kids again as there are lots of better options out there. We did get generous money off our bill which am grateful for. Whenever my wife suggests a spot of late night shopping in Norwich, I jump at the chance because it means another trip to my favourite pizza restaurant. Pizza Express in the Forum, Norwich also happens to be my favourite in the chain and I have visited many in my time from the Lake District to Cambridge and Nottingham. What I enjoy is the view across Norwich at night and the way the lovely waitresses make a fuss of my wife and myself. On top of this I get to eat my favourite Pollo ad Astra pizza after first indulging in the delicious dough balls with garlic butter....Absolutely superb!I know that it is silly but at the age of sixty seven, I love being treated as though I'm special and it doesn't matter who takes our order, these girls all manage to do it. Whilst I get such good service, I'll continue to return for more. I think that on that basis, I'll be returning again and again.

We were there for lunch today a group of 30! When we arrived the tables were set up nicely and invitingly. The waiters and waitresses were all polite, friendly and professional. The waiter that took my order was amazing he noted all my allergies checked with the kitchen. When the dish arrived I was told it was done to suit me.Considering the size of the party the wait for food was really quick (well done chef). It gave us all a chance to have a drink and catch up.Plates were cleared once we had finished and the dessert menus were un obtrusively placed on the table. As it was a big party the settling of the bill was easy for us (not so sure the staff) as we all received an individual bill. That was the best way I have seen for a big party it saved lots of head scratching at the end of an enjoyable meal.

We eat here quite a bit and excluding the loos, it is really good. A large portion of the restaurant is situated on a 'bridge' across the front of the Forum building, it's light and bright and affords a fantastic view of St Peter Mancroft Church. The Pizzas are very good - standard fare for the Pizza Express franchise, but good never-the-less. The service friendly and accommodating, I've eaten during my lunch hour and they made sure we were able to eat within the hour. As the title outlines, the loos were a let down. I have found them blocked before and put it down to customer behaviour rather than an issue at Pizza Express itself. On our visit this time a sink was out of action and a piece of paper put across it to apologise. Unfortunately it had got slightly wet, torn and people had started to use it as a rubbish bin. My parents always used to say that you could tell a lot about an eating establishment from the state of the loos and I have to say that I didn't like what this was telling me! I do have a photo to upload - but the app won't let me tonight; I'll try again when it's published.

Our latest visit to Pizza Express in the modern and impressive Forum building in the centre of Norwich was for a cheapo midweek lunch. Thin crust pizza went down a treat but £6 for a large bottle of Peroni I thought was a bit steep. The waitress was friendly and the view of St Peter Mancroft was superb. Incidentally, St Peter Mancroft is not a cathedral as some reviewers suggest; it's a church. Norwich has two cathedrals - RC and C of E - but they're elsewhere.

The Pizza Express Norwich is upstairs in the Forum, tables are spread in two lines across the front with a panoramic glass window giving all tables a view across the city and particularly of the fine church of St. Peter Mancroft (slightly obscured by a coach parked for advertising purposes!). To the side is a view of BBC East offices.Food is well up to the Pizza Express standard, i.e slightly better than the average chain Italian restaurant. We had the risotto fresco, which came piping hot, served by a pleasant waitress from northern Europe, followed by a nice chocolate brownie & decent coffee.A pleasant, not too expensive, lunch experience and we may go again if we ever return to Norwich.

The location is great being in the forum with s good view over the city. Staff were friendly which is an improvement on our previous visit. The food is average, better than Pizza Hut but not great, the pizza base was thin but still heavy and the toppings were ok. Pizzas range from £9 to £15 roughly.

For a Friday in the school holidays, it was packed. As always, go on a busy day and staff are rushed off their feet. We had to return our lasagne as it was overdone. Didn't receive any complimentary offer nor compensation, but I had to eat my meal lest it went cold alone till the lasagne appeared!

We ate here in a large group on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is to be found inside the Norwich Forum; our tables were situated on a balcony overlooking the forum on one side, and St Peter Mancroft church on the other. Being a Saturday evening, the forum itself was largely closed, with the lights in all other areas being turned off whilst we were eating! The food was to the usual high standard of Pizza Express restaurants, and was much enjoyed. Service was excellent; product knowledge was good, and we were served with good grace.I would have no hesitation in returning if in Norwich again.

As the venue for my first date with my current boyfriend I suppose my opinion of this restaurant is rather biased! I have visited this restaurant with my boyfriend over 15 times in the past 9 months since our first date and the food is superb every time. The 40% student discount on Mondays and Tuesdays is incredible value for money. The tables against the window give a lovely romantic view, accompanied nicely by the candles on the tables. The drinks are always perfectly chilled, the pizzas excellent quality and the desserts to die for. The service is fast and friendly and even the chefs will hold good conversation. Utterly perfect.

i went with my husband and our 3 kids for a birthday treat fro my son. I booked a table online in advance. We all had adult pizzas apart from my little girl who had a kids meal. This was good value as she had dough balls, cucumber and cherry toms, pizza, icecream and a babychino. I ordered the dough balls and the polento chips for sides to share. There was about 6 chips and the same amount of dough balls and these were nearly £4 each. Very small portions. We all enjoyed our pizzas and even though we were told there would be a 40 min wait it wasn't that long. We only had a jug of water because drinks were expensive. The food was good but portions weren't great and it was expensive for what it was. I don't think I would go unless i had vouchers to pay. Waitress was very pleasant and friendly.

Had a family meal for four here last Friday afternoon. The place was very quiet and so we were seated immediately (by the window overlooking the cathedral which was lovely). The service was very friendly and there was a kids menu as well as the usual menu which had plenty of variety. The food was delicious and the Sicilian lemonade was really refreshing. Just what we needed after a long hot day in town! We'll definitely visit here next time we're in Norwich...

I ate at Pizza express after several hours shopping for lunch. We were seated within seconds of arriving at the restaurant. After being seated we were served within minutes by a very friendly waitress who politely too our drink and food order. Our drinks and food arrived very quickly despite being fairly busy for lunch time. The food was of a very good quality. I eat here on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal. The salads they serve are really tasty when compared to similar restaurants and are, without doubt, my favourite food on the menu. A final point, as I am signed up to Pizza Express I am sent a voucher each year for my birthday which entitles me to a free bottle of prosseco which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was of a reasonably good quality as well. I would recommend this deal to everyone!

We visited Pizza Express after a long day shopping, agreed the food itself cannot be faulted yet the way it is dealt with is appalling. The managerial staff were very rude and we witnessed them bumbling around the inner restaurant looking miserable yet laid back, whereas the busy waitresses and waiters were rushing around as fast as the eye could see. I witnessed the chefs and managers handling salad, doughballs and even pizzas with their bare hands, I doubt they cleaned their hands after one manager presumably went out for a cigarette judging by the smell! The front of house staff seemed very busy and were buzzing around like little flies! The new refurb is nice, however at the end of the day you can't polish a turd. I doubt I will be returning to THIS Pizza Express, and will encourage my friends and colleagues to visit the St Benedicts restaurant, with much more friendly staff and an overall happier vibe.

I had a lovely evening meal here with friends recently. The menu has changed since my last visit so it needed a thorough read before I could decide what to order. I started with dough balls (of course), followed by pomodoro pesto pizza with extra tuna, which was a delicious combination. I had banoffee pie for dessert which was good, but I still miss the coffee copa gelato . Service was excellent as usual and value was good, especially with the added help of some Clubcard Boost vouchers from Tesco.

After booking in advance a really fantastic restaurant in Norwich I cancelled as my son didn't want to go out for Father's Day, he wanted to spend the day at home. After going out for the day into the city to sort out a few things we were at Chapelfield Park and we all decided to go out for a Pizza. There were 4 adults, 2x 6 year olds and a 2 year old. We arrived at approx 5.30pm to a busy restaurant, great view & great atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and courteous, not like the lady manager. The young waitress took our drinks order and then brought them over which was fine. She then took our order which again we thought was fine. For adults they were doing an offer for Father's Day, 3 courses off a set menu for £13.99, bargain! We were all quite ravenous and were excited waiting for our Garlic Dough balls to arrive. The waitress brought over 2 starters of dough balls for the children and then we waited and waited and waited a bit more whilst she was off serving other customers their food, the lady manager then brought over the adults dough balls and 1 of my son's was waiting which he was starving so we couldn't sit eating in from of him so my husband gave his to him to eat and after a few minutes of still nothing he went into the main restaurant (We sat over by the lift) and asked where our son's starter was. Eventually we got it but we all thought it was bad.Anyway, we very much enjoyed our starters even though we all ate separately! Without our starters being cleared away a different waiter then brought over 2 adults mains courses, I asked if he could clear our table, he took 3 plates away (there were 7), again we waited and waited for the others to arrive, which they then brought over 2 more adults mains so my husband got up again and spoke to the general manager and told him it wasn't good enough, by this stage our food was cold, you can't sit and eat in front of your children, we had spicy pizza's so it wasn't as if they would eat them but they are a bit young to understand! Again after moaning 2 children's main courses arrived, 1 was missing. Turns out the waitress didn't think the 2 year old was eating?!?! Bearing in mind it was pasta in garlic but term it shouldn't take too long to cook, we actually lost track of how long it was before the food came out but anyway she was sharing some of the pasta with the boys. When it did come out it actually tasted burnt so she didn't want to eat it and quite rightly so.We were apologised to. It had become extremely quiet in the restaurant as most people had left.We then thought the 2 choices on the dessert were chocolate fudge cake or ice cream, we all wanted the fudge cake. Surprisingly, they had run out so the manager said we could have anything off the main menu which was nice but if your offering a set menu surely you get enough food in to cover it!After yet again more ridiculous waiting we got in dribs and drabs 6 desserts, 4 adults and 2 children. They forgot that we had 3 kids, clearly! then the 3rd ice cream came out and had a cone on it so that causes the kids to ask why they didn't get a cone too.My husband took our son to the toilet and the manger handed him the bill en route, even though we hadn't asked for it. Think they had had enough of us by then!! He told him that after all the mistakes they had taken all the food off the bill and we only had to pay for drinks. Don't get me wrong it was a lovely gesture but we wanted to pay for the food, we went out for a family meal.Serously Pizza Express, if I was a mystery shopper, you would have been in trouble! Your team needs serious training. We were never asked for any other drinks. The find quality was good but by the time we ate it was cold. Sorting the attitude of the lady manger needs to be addressed, we all thought how rude she was!We will return at some point but certainly not soon!!!!!! Very disappointed!!!!!!!!

Great location, first floor up, glass fronted restaurant at The Forum. Our service was good and the two pizzas ordered were OK but nothing special. Whatever you do don't order the Legarra Superfood Salad - I've just visited the Pizza Express website to check what should have been in it - mixed leaves, cucumber, avocado, fresh basil, beetroot, light mozzarella, pinenuts, lentils, balsamic dressing- sounds quite yummy. However, the large plate was covered with spinach and leaves with no different colours or textures and I had to search for the other ingredients - mozzarella was tasteless, beetroot was tasteless (homegrown beetroot cooked is sweet and delicious), no avocado, no basil, tasteless and undercooked lentils, 4 thick slices of cucumber, small amount of butternut squash that left a curious aftertaste. I ordered chicken at a supplement of £1.50 but that was tasteless too. It was not an appropriate occasion to complain but when the waitress took our plates away - and mine was still completely covered with the unappetising salad leaves it should have alerted her to the fact that something was wrong. There were lots of families eating there and it is a child friendly venue but I wouldn't recommend it.

We went to the Pizza Express and I ate a pizza 4 formaggi that was amazing, the other people ate other kind of pizzas that was very good too. The restaurant views are really good in front of St. Peter Church and the space of the restaurant is big and good too. The only problem was that we had to wait too long for our food, it was just a oversight of the restaurant's staff. All the other things was very good, so I recomend it.

I went with my sister and 2 friends. You have amazing views that overlooks the church and you can see the castle. The service was good. My sons pasta didn't have much flavour to it (I tried it too) and my pizza was very salty (four seasons) so I didn't finish it. My friends calzone looked amazing though and he said it was! Maybe it was just our poor choice of food, or they didn't quite add flavour (or too much salt!) we had a good time though!

Over the years, I have been to several Pizza Express restaurants across the country and you generally know what to expect from them – decent pizzas at a good price (provided that you have one of their many vouchers). I have not been to the Forum restaurant before so this was a new experience in that respect. I enjoyed the view and the location – although I am sure it must be much better in the summer when it doesn’t get dark quite so early. I tried a new pizza on the menu, Caprina Rossa, with beetroot and goat cheese – simply because I love that combination. I wasn’t wrong when it came to flavours – it was tasty, however I had two problems with it: first, their Romana base was way too thin and crispy which made it difficult to cut and difficult to eat at the same time, second the pizza came out lukewarm and it became cold pretty fast. They weren’t particularly busy as it was still early when we went and although I appreciated the promptitude of their service, I wouldn’t have minded waiting a little longer for a warmer pizza.

Great good, great staff and very accommodating. My only critique is that if you request a quiet corner because you have two teenage boys with special needs, please don’t then sit a child next to us (if possible). People with special needs are very sensitive to noise, which is why I asked for a quiet area. It’s difficult to manage.
