Very good service, staff were efficient, helpful and food was served very quickly. Quite expensive here due to others I have been to, food itself was tasty and seating was decent. Had a pizza, it was very nice and tasty. Good visit.

Pretty poor service, was seated and waited over 30 mins for someone to take our order, despite other guests coming in after us to be served promptly. One staff member was more interested in her nails and piercings than serving us. Overheard another member staff telling another member of staff that someone was really F**king annoying. We were seated near the staff service station and all staff could quite easily see we were waiting to be served. When we eventually were served our meals, one of our pizzas had 3 straight auburn hairs laying on top (we suspect the lady managers at the time). They didn’t charge us for the pizza and we did receive a boxed replacement. The overall time we were there was almost 2 hours and the place wasn’t that busy! it’s a shame as it’s been a firm favourite of ours when in the city for many years but I really noticed a decline today

We recently went to the cinema and decided to have dinner after at Pizza Express, I am not a huge Pizza fan, however good Italian Restaurants and Pizza Express are the exception, my wife & I shared 2 of the spicier options, the kids had the kids meals, which are very good value, plus for starters we had the dough balls in parmesan cheese, fantastic food, service was very attentive and really enjoyed the evening.

Pizza Express do seem to move with the times and develop new and interesting flavours each time I/we visit. Romana Mare Rossa is their latest and their most expensive at £13.20 however, the fresh fish and interesting combination proved tasty and good value for money. Once again however my old complaint, service! Why is it that we are ceasing to be individual customers and more like cows being guided with care to our milking station and then put through a process not a dining experience? I know its only Pizza Express, but should that really matter? Still I/we will continue to go as the food is good and consistent, maybe that’s why the catering industry is well, just not trying when it comes to customer service.

Before visiting the Theatre we ate at Pizza Express in The Forum in Norwich. What a great location. We had a table for 11. After waiting 10 minutes for a waitress to take a drinks order, she failed to ask half the table for their choices. The service overall was slow but the waitress was pleasant. We ordered a mixture of pasta and pizza. All of which took a very long while to arrive, once they did arrive the food was poor. The Lasagne was cooked to within an inch of its life (not sure if it was microwaved) the pizzas were dry and over cooked. We talked to friends who had been to this restaurant before and they said they had always had a good experience. We must have had a bad night.

We went as a family group of 9, including 4 young children. It was a very busy Saturday lunchtime. This is no excuse however for the terribly slow service. Our little ones were very good, but waiting 45 minutes to get their dough balls seemed excessive. Lots of restaurants are able to prioritise little kids better and get some snacks out to them. Nice food as ever but wouldn't not take the kids again as there are lots of better options out there. We did get generous money off our bill which am grateful for. But Grandma who paid would have much rather we had a nice family meal. Disappointing!

We were visiting family in Norwich and as we have been to this venue before we decided to visit on Sunday at 4. Not busy at all and getting a table was easy-given choice. However the staff were very un-attentive even though the place was well staffed and there were not that many customers. Staff gave the impression that it was an effort to serve us and although the food was good, the service did leave a lot to be desired.

Brilliant location: Seeing the BBC in action on the adjoining floor; the coming and going to the library and the circulating of folk in the main area. Much to see and it all makes a vibrant early evening. The external lighting of the St. Peter Mancroft church made a fab backdrop too. On our visit the waitress was very friendly, the food as good as any Pizza Express, and fellow eaters all enjoying themselves too. A good place to eat without doubt.

I've always been a fan or pizza express and go regary but have never wrote a review but this trip was great! It was a very busy Friday night and we hadn't booked but chanced that they would have a table and they did. As it was the two of us it didn't seem to be much of a bother. The food as always was amazing, my favourite pizza is the leggera range! Such a great idea it you want to save room for a dessert!I had the chocolate brownie Sunday which is my favourite dessert ever! I love it!The only negative thing is that service was slow and I didn't feel that I got the service I would have got if it wasn't busy but I appreciated that it was busy and I hadn't booked. This pizza express is set in a lovely location, set on one floor of the Norwich forum, with glass all around the restaurant looking out onto the cathedral and other parts of Norwich. Quick and friendly service and nice atmosphere although we did feel slightly cold when sitting at our table, we were sitting right next to the glass and it did feel like there was a slight draft. Overall really lovely though :)

Whenever my wife suggests a spot of late night shopping in Norwich, I jump at the chance because it means another trip to my favourite pizza restaurant. Pizza Express in the Forum, Norwich also happens to be my favourite in the chain and I have visited many in my time from the Lake District to Cambridge and Nottingham. What I enjoy is the view across Norwich at night and the way the lovely waitresses make a fuss of my wife and myself. On top of this I get to eat my favourite Pollo ad Astra pizza after first indulging in the delicious dough balls with garlic butter....Absolutely superb!I know that it is silly but at the age of sixty seven, I love being treated as though I'm special and it doesn't matter who takes our order, these girls all manage to do it. Whilst I get such good service, I'll continue to return for more. I think that on that basis, I'll be returning again and again.

We were there for lunch today a group of 30! When we arrived the tables were set up nicely and invitingly. The waiters and waitresses were all polite, friendly and professional. The waiter that took my order was amazing he noted all my allergies checked with the kitchen. When the dish arrived I was told it was done to suit me.Considering the size of the party the wait for food was really quick (well done chef). It gave us all a chance to have a drink and catch up.Plates were cleared once we had finished and the dessert menus were un obtrusively placed on the table. As it was a big party the settling of the bill was easy for us (not so sure the staff) as we all received an individual bill. That was the best way I have seen for a big party it saved lots of head scratching at the end of an enjoyable meal.

We eat here quite a bit and excluding the loos, it is really good. A large portion of the restaurant is situated on a 'bridge' across the front of the Forum building, it's light and bright and affords a fantastic view of St Peter Mancroft Church. The Pizzas are very good - standard fare for the Pizza Express franchise, but good never-the-less. The service friendly and accommodating, I've eaten during my lunch hour and they made sure we were able to eat within the hour. As the title outlines, the loos were a let down. I have found them blocked before and put it down to customer behaviour rather than an issue at Pizza Express itself. On our visit this time a sink was out of action and a piece of paper put across it to apologise. Unfortunately it had got slightly wet, torn and people had started to use it as a rubbish bin. My parents always used to say that you could tell a lot about an eating establishment from the state of the loos and I have to say that I didn't like what this was telling me! I do have a photo to upload - but the app won't let me tonight; I'll try again when it's published.

Our latest visit to Pizza Express in the modern and impressive Forum building in the centre of Norwich was for a cheapo midweek lunch. Thin crust pizza went down a treat but £6 for a large bottle of Peroni I thought was a bit steep. The waitress was friendly and the view of St Peter Mancroft was superb. Incidentally, St Peter Mancroft is not a cathedral as some reviewers suggest; it's a church. Norwich has two cathedrals - RC and C of E - but they're elsewhere.

The Pizza Express Norwich is upstairs in the Forum, tables are spread in two lines across the front with a panoramic glass window giving all tables a view across the city and particularly of the fine church of St. Peter Mancroft (slightly obscured by a coach parked for advertising purposes!). To the side is a view of BBC East offices.Food is well up to the Pizza Express standard, i.e slightly better than the average chain Italian restaurant. We had the risotto fresco, which came piping hot, served by a pleasant waitress from northern Europe, followed by a nice chocolate brownie & decent coffee.A pleasant, not too expensive, lunch experience and we may go again if we ever return to Norwich.

We ate here in a large group on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is to be found inside the Norwich Forum; our tables were situated on a balcony overlooking the forum on one side, and St Peter Mancroft church on the other. Being a Saturday evening, the forum itself was largely closed, with the lights in all other areas being turned off whilst we were eating! The food was to the usual high standard of Pizza Express restaurants, and was much enjoyed. As the venue for my first date with my current boyfriend I suppose my opinion of this restaurant is rather biased! I have visited this restaurant with my boyfriend over 15 times in the past 9 months since our first date and the food is superb every time. The 40% student discount on Mondays and Tuesdays is incredible value for money. The tables against the window give a lovely romantic view, accompanied nicely by the candles on the tables. The drinks are always perfectly chilled, the pizzas excellent quality and the desserts to die for. The service is fast and friendly and even the chefs will hold good conversation. Utterly perfect.

i went with my husband and our 3 kids for a birthday treat fro my son. I booked a table online in advance. We all had adult pizzas apart from my little girl who had a kids meal. This was good value as she had dough balls, cucumber and cherry toms, pizza, icecream and a babychino. I ordered the dough balls and the polento chips for sides to share. There was about 6 chips and the same amount of dough balls and these were nearly £4 each. Very small portions. We all enjoyed our pizzas and even though we were told there would be a 40 min wait it wasn't that long. We only had a jug of water because drinks were expensive. The food was good but portions weren't great and it was expensive for what it was. I don't think I would go unless i had vouchers to pay. Waitress was very pleasant and friendly.

I ate at Pizza express after several hours shopping for lunch. We were seated within seconds of arriving at the restaurant. After being seated we were served within minutes by a very friendly waitress who politely too our drink and food order. Our drinks and food arrived very quickly despite being fairly busy for lunch time. The food was of a very good quality. I eat here on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal. The salads they serve are really tasty when compared to similar restaurants and are, without doubt, my favourite food on the menu. A final point, as I am signed up to Pizza Express I am sent a voucher each year for my birthday which entitles me to a free bottle of prosseco which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was of a reasonably good quality as well. I would recommend this deal to everyone!

We visited Pizza Express after a long day shopping, agreed the food itself cannot be faulted yet the way it is dealt with is appalling. The managerial staff were very rude and we witnessed them bumbling around the inner restaurant looking miserable yet laid back, whereas the busy waitresses and waiters were rushing around as fast as the eye could see. I witnessed the chefs and managers handling salad, doughballs and even pizzas with their bare hands, I doubt they cleaned their hands after one manager presumably went out for a cigarette judging by the smell! The front of house staff seemed very busy and were buzzing around like little flies! The new refurb is nice, however at the end of the day you can't polish a turd. I doubt I will be returning to THIS Pizza Express, and will encourage my friends and colleagues to visit the St Benedicts restaurant, with much more friendly staff and an overall happier vibe.

After booking in advance a really fantastic restaurant in Norwich I cancelled as my son didn't want to go out for Father's Day, he wanted to spend the day at home. After going out for the day into the city to sort out a few things we were at Chapelfield Park and we all decided to go out for a Pizza. There were 4 adults, 2x 6 year olds and a 2 year old. We arrived at approx 5.30pm to a busy restaurant, great view & great atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and courteous, not like the lady manager. The young waitress took our drinks order and then brought them over which was fine. She then took our order which again we thought was fine. For adults they were doing an offer for Father's Day, 3 courses off a set menu for £13.99, bargain! We were all quite ravenous and were excited waiting for our Garlic Dough balls to arrive. The waitress brought over 2 starters of dough balls for the children and then we waited and waited and waited a bit more whilst she was off serving other customers their food, the lady manager then brought over the adults dough balls and 1 of my son's was waiting which he was starving so we couldn't sit eating in from of him so my husband gave his to him to eat and after a few minutes of still nothing he went into the main restaurant (We sat over by the lift) and asked where our son's starter was. Eventually we got it but we all thought it was bad.Anyway, we very much enjoyed our starters even though we all ate separately! Without our starters being cleared away a different waiter then brought over 2 adults mains courses, I asked if he could clear our table, he took 3 plates away (there were 7), again we waited and waited for the others to arrive, which they then brought over 2 more adults mains so my husband got up again and spoke to the general manager and told him it wasn't good enough, by this stage our food was cold, you can't sit and eat in front of your children, we had spicy pizza's so it wasn't as if they would eat them but they are a bit young to understand! Again after moaning 2 children's main courses arrived, 1 was missing. Turns out the waitress didn't think the 2 year old was eating?!?! Bearing in mind it was pasta in garlic but term it shouldn't take too long to cook, we actually lost track of how long it was before the food came out but anyway she was sharing some of the pasta with the boys. When it did come out it actually tasted burnt so she didn't want to eat it and quite rightly so.We were apologised to. It had become extremely quiet in the restaurant as most people had left.We then thought the 2 choices on the dessert were chocolate fudge cake or ice cream, we all wanted the fudge cake. Surprisingly, they had run out so the manager said we could have anything off the main menu which was nice but if your offering a set menu surely you get enough food in to cover it!After yet again more ridiculous waiting we got in dribs and drabs 6 desserts, 4 adults and 2 children. They forgot that we had 3 kids, clearly! then the 3rd ice cream came out and had a cone on it so that causes the kids to ask why they didn't get a cone too.My husband took our son to the toilet and the manger handed him the bill en route, even though we hadn't asked for it. Think they had had enough of us by then!! He told him that after all the mistakes they had taken all the food off the bill and we only had to pay for drinks. Don't get me wrong it was a lovely gesture but we wanted to pay for the food, we went out for a family meal.Serously Pizza Express, if I was a mystery shopper, you would have been in trouble! Your team needs serious training. We were never asked for any other drinks. The find quality was good but by the time we ate it was cold. Sorting the attitude of the lady manger needs to be addressed, we all thought how rude she was!We will return at some point but certainly not soon!!!!!! Very disappointed!!!!!!!!

Great location, first floor up, glass fronted restaurant at The Forum. Our service was good and the two pizzas ordered were OK but nothing special. Whatever you do don't order the Legarra Superfood Salad - I've just visited the Pizza Express website to check what should have been in it - mixed leaves, cucumber, avocado, fresh basil, beetroot, light mozzarella, pinenuts, lentils, balsamic dressing- sounds quite yummy. However, the large plate was covered with spinach and leaves with no different colours or textures and I had to search for the other ingredients - mozzarella was tasteless, beetroot was tasteless (homegrown beetroot cooked is sweet and delicious), no avocado, no basil, tasteless and undercooked lentils, 4 thick slices of cucumber, small amount of butternut squash that left a curious aftertaste. I ordered chicken at a supplement of £1.50 but that was tasteless too. It was not an appropriate occasion to complain but when the waitress took our plates away - and mine was still completely covered with the unappetising salad leaves it should have alerted her to the fact that something was wrong. There were lots of families eating there and it is a child friendly venue but I wouldn't recommend it.

Over the years, I have been to several Pizza Express restaurants across the country and you generally know what to expect from them – decent pizzas at a good price (provided that you have one of their many vouchers). I have not been to the Forum restaurant before so this was a new experience in that respect. I enjoyed the view and the location – although I am sure it must be much better in the summer when it doesn’t get dark quite so early. I tried a new pizza on the menu, Caprina Rossa, with beetroot and goat cheese – simply because I love that combination. I wasn’t wrong when it came to flavours – it was tasty, however I had two problems with it: first, their Romana base was way too thin and crispy which made it difficult to cut and difficult to eat at the same time, second the pizza came out lukewarm and it became cold pretty fast. They weren’t particularly busy as it was still early when we went and although I appreciated the promptitude of their service, I wouldn’t have minded waiting a little longer for a warmer pizza.

We went to Pizza Express as a group today. There were 15 of us, adults & kids. We had booked and there was a table ready for us. the service was awful. it took ages to order drinks, longer to order food and ages before food arrived on the table. It took them 30 minutes from ordering desert to bring the first ones out. That's 30minutes to put a slice of fudge cake on a plate! Even after complaining, it took a further 20 minutes to get the rest of the deserts out. The kids' deserts only ice-cream) arrived well after the adults. The whole thing was a shambles. the manager apologised and said that the waitress was in a muddle and was walking around in circles! However, he didn't try to speed things up. He knocked a bit of the bill at the end, but his figures was completely wrong. Some of the party had to leave as it was taking so long, and even though they cancelled their coffees, they were still brought out and put on the bill. The only redeeming feature was that the food was nice. However, the whole meal took over 2 hours, most of which was spent waiting for food, or asking for the manager. All of this happened on a Saturday lunchtime. I would have expected a restaurant to have enough staff (and ones who know how to wait tables) on at lunchtime. The restaurant was half full so it wasn't even as if they were busy. We won't be back.

We came here with our 3 year old son and 18 month old daughter for lunch. It was advantageous that they opened at 11:30am and the service was excellent. Many a meal in other restaurants has been ruined by slow service and impatient children! Plus, the first thing the waitress did was wipe down the high chair and little things like that go a long way. The children's set meal was excellent value and for £6.50 they enjoyed a doughball starter, a sizeable pasta main course and a really delicious chocolate pudding plus frothy milk (the babycino kind of thing). The children loved it and it was excellent value. I would definitely come here again as a family.

I visited here about a month ago with my partner. We have eaten in pizza express around the country and it has always been great!! Even in this resurant, the experiences we have had before have been far far better than this one. Firstly it seemed as though our arrival of 8:15pm was too much of a chore and stuck us in the corner away from every other diner. It took ages for the waiter to ask us for drinks and then when he did bring them, they were wrong. We had a lovely starter but the main course was horiffic. The goats cheese in my salad and on my partners pizza was off. The waiter said it seems like it if off but it is fine, it just has a strong taste and smell... so after about 20 minutes he came back over as we had stopped eating ( actually we hardly ate anything at all because the smell and the taste was putrid) and asked if everything was ok. Obviously with our still full plates, everything was not ok. we told him again how we felt about the cheese but was adament that is how it should have been. He cleared our plates without asking if he could get us something else and brought over the bill. Obviously it was getting too late for him and wanted to go home. Unfortunately this has slightly put us off the restaurant. We normally rate Pizza Express but this time ... horrific, in every way!

On a recent shopping trip my mum and I stopped for lunch at this branch of Pizza Express. It was good to see that the menu had changed and Christmas booking wasn't being rammed down our throats. We chose to sit 'inside' which was a little warmer on a cool day and I think the service was a bit quicker than I have experienced in the past (when I have sat 'outside' in the forum).Location is great for watching folk bustling about both outside and in.Food and drink orders were taken fairly promptly and we opted for a Pollo pesto dish and one of the new Romana pizzas. Food was delivered quite quickly - the pizza looked great and being extra thin is not so filling as a standard base one (and the toppings are not diluted by so much dough) - pasta was a bit scorched on top but definitely edible.Portion sizes were good and we didn't get the 'hard sell' for extras like breadsticks etc.It was strange for a place of its size to have run out of the Lemon Torta by 1pm, so alternatives had to be selected, which was disappointing.Staff were friendly and attentive, if a little lacking in product knowledge. This place is fine at the moment, but I'll have to find somewhere else to eat if the prices edge up much higher. In the meantime, there is a reasonable selection on offer and judging by the number of children eating there, it's good for families.

The food and service here was up to the usual Piazza Express standard , however the ambience of the restaurant was not. The restaurant is located in the Forum which is a modern cavernous media cum library complex. We ate in the evening when the Forum was devoid of much if any activity. Although there is a good view over a rather deserted square to the illuminated church opposite, this did not make up for the hash lighting and cold atmosphere. I had the feeling I was eating in a huge empty space reminiscent of a railway terminus after the last train has gone. The venue might be better for lunch. If you do go in the evening you might find it better to eat inside the smaller enclosed [ and a rather more intimate] area than on the rather exposed and cold mezzanine floor.

This is a difficult review to write and is based on multiple visits not just one. There are two distinct and very different experiences to be had here. The inside is very different to the outside/forum side. Take a look at both and decide where to sit from there. It is a very impressive location and will impress with the view. The meal will vary depending on what time you go. In the busy lunch or dinner time rush you will be waiting for a while, it will not be a quick meal (the other pizza express in Norwich is much faster) and the quality will suffer. It simply will not be the best pizza in this time. When I asked why I was told by staff that the restaurant is very badly designed due to the compromising location and difficult conditions that this causes (poor extraction, heat tolerances etc) so the oven itself and kitchen areas are far smaller than they should be for so many seats. The upshot of this is that the kitchen simply is not big enough for the restaurant and this leads to huge wait times at peak periods. The wait times can ruin the eating experience so I tend to go out of the peak times. The other elephant in the room is that the whole place is very much made of glass so on a hot/sunny day this can make for an uncomfortable meal time situation, I have had friends burn over a meal. If you have not been to a pizza express before it is worth a try for sure. There are better ones (Maidstone and Colchester being my personal favourites) but overall as long as you have the time if you are visiting the city its the one to go for. The baked dough balls with garlic butter for starter and 'Sloppy Guiseppe' with a runny egg on top are indeed tough to beat. Good portions but a touch on the expensive side but I am a bit biased as I do like Pizza Express. Other Pizza Express location do vary greatly, some even have live performances etc so it is worth checking out your local one to see whats going on there.

Having booked a table for eight to celebrate a family birthday, we arrived on time and there was some confusion about what table they could give us, but told us we could have this table, but it was booked out for 3.00, we had arrived at 1.00, so I agreed we could manage to oblige. As we where going on to the Castle we did not want to linger to long. After half an hour we waited and I nearly went up to inquire, when they came with the food and apologies for the delay. We had to ask for crayons for the children and water on the table. The food while being edible was great for weight watchers and not enough for a man sized appetite, after looking at other peoples plates, I concluded it was like the Kings clothes. By the time we left, we did not have much time in the Castle Museum. Don't bother unless you have a promotion and need to lose weight.

Having been turned away from the St benedicts pizza express because they were unwilling to accommodate us with a baby in a pushchair we ended up at the forum. Staff were very friendly & accommodating, I didn't even have to ask for a table where we could park the baby next to us at this restaurant! Staff were great with our 5 and 3 year old, very chatty without being overbearing. Drinks and food arrived quickly, everything was cooked just how we liked it and the desert portions were very generous. I've never had such lovely tirimisu before. Service was a bit slow between courses but this may be due to my children taking so long to eat their meal that staff probably got bored checking if we had finished & busied themselves with other customers! I find this restaurant is quite laid back so not the best place to eat if you're in a hurry but lovely if you want to take your time & enjoy overlooking whatever event might be taking place outside the forum building.

Visited recently with vegetarian grand-daughter and used one of their 'meal deal' vouchers and there was plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians. The restaurant is upstairs at the Forum, quite a large area so plenty of space between tables, but because of the floor to ceiling glass at the front of the building, it was mighty hot, even with aircon! Very friendly obliging staff (our vouchers covered a main and a dessert or starter) and we chose to share a starter and a dessert). No problem at all, happy to help! Our food came quickly, freshly cooked and quite delicious especially the giant chocolate sundae - how one person could manage it I don't know! and we had some very drinkable wine! So, if you go, choose a table away from the glass front or a cool day!

We chose to eat at Pizza Express with our Tesco vouchers - arriving early before the crowds (it was about 5.30pm when we sat down). We ordered drinks, then food as is the usual way.The kitchen was very quiet, as our starters arrived promptly. That was fine, but our mains arrived almost as soon as our starter plates had been cleared - perhaps a little too quick. The food was fine. One minor gripe is that Romano pizzas seem to go cold very quickly - they are very thin, and often the plate that they are served on are only just warm.Despite the lovely view on a sunny evening over the church and the square, I think that I'll try the other branch of Pizza Express when I'm in Norwich next time.

We needed a really quick meal and arrived at 5pm, needing to leave at 6pm. We had been unable to get through to book by phone with our tastecard so had made a booking online shortly before we arrived but this had not been received. This did not cause any consternation, we were quickly seated and the use of our tastecard was accepted and what was included explained. When we came to order our food we explained our time challenge and the waitress was lovely, she said she would put the food order through immediately and when we said we were disappointed we probably wouldn't have time for dessert she said 'well let's see how we get on'. We finished our mains and she came over quickly, offered dessert saying she could do them straight away so we quickly ordered and, true to her word, they arrived immediatly. When she brought dessert she said she would organise our bill, which she did and we paid as we ate our desserts. As we left she wished us a nice time at our 6pm event. The customer service we received was excellent. The service was prompt and although we were in a hurry we never felt rushed by any of the staff and they were attentive, friendly, full of smiles and very helpful. The food was also excellent, freshly cooked and tasty. My Rustichella pizza was fabulous. We had a lovely meal here in March. Great food and service. The waitresses were lovely, smiley and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This restaurant is in the city library, which is very impressive, and overlooks an attractive square with a beautiful church lit up at night.A table of young people were however behaving badly next to us - nothing to do with the restaurant and not their fault and but I e-mailed feedback to Pizza Express anyway- thought they might want to know for future reference.I immediately got a phone call from them and they couldn't have been nicer about it. In fact they sent us voucher for another meal in compensation which I thought was incredibly generous. Then I only went and lost the voucher didn't I! I e-mailed to tell them about my stupidity not expecting any sympathy. However they rang me back again to say no worries, they could see the voucher hadn't been used, and so they sent me another one! Now that's what I call cool customer service! So I can't recommend them highly enough. Great restaurant, excellent customer service. I ate here once in december 2012 and again in January 2013 and to be honest i wouldn't eat here unless i have tesco vouchers. In my December visit we were left waiting at the top of the stairs where you chek-in for a good 5-10 mins with only a "someone will be with you soon"...by 3 seperate waitresses!!! I wouldn't mind if they are rushed off their feet, but they only had 4-6 tables full! When we were finally seated it took ages for someone to collect our order and they were then really rude...not a smile, or thank you atall. Our food was practically thrown in front of us and no-one came over to see how we were. It turned out that in December you all of sudden can't use your tesco vouchers so i paid by card. I don't ever leave a tip through the card machines as i know the staff don't receive the full amount, so i pressed no to this when i was paying. The waiter seemed really pis*ed off by this fact and actually threw my card down on the table in front of me and stormed off lol! I actually laughed as i felt so embarrased. Neadless to say...i left no cash tip.The only reason i ate here in january was so i could finally use my tesco vouchers, same story...great food but rude staff and NO tip!! Came here to use a gift card given to us as a present, been here a few times before and I really love the location of it. The restaurant is opposite the catherdral and if you're lucky enough to get a window table you can enjoy the view. The restaurant was already very busy when we arrived, we were served relatively quick despite this, however even though we'd made reservations the waitress stated our table was one of the ones not to have been set up yet. We waited a couple more minutes before she took us over and we stood next to a table for a couple of minutes whilst she cleaned and set it, this was nothing more than a bit awkward. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious (I recommend the bruchetta but just with less onions next time!) and they do mini puddings with a coffee incase you can't manage a full one. - I also recommend the chocolate truffle ice cream which was just the right size and they allowed me to have a hot chocolate instead of coffee. The waitress actually served us the wrong wine which we didn't realise until after the meal, but as we both liked it anyway this might have been a 'good' mistake on her part. The atmosphere could have been a little better in the restaurant, i.e. some more lighting (as they turn off alot of the lights in the forum once the library is closed) but other than that we had a really nice time and I'd be happy to go again.

Have been regularly coming to Pizza Express to use their Orange Wednesday offers over the last 5 years. Usually go to the forum over St Benedicts due to the ease of parking but service is less good. Pizzas are brilliant - thin crispy base, lots of topping and always come out swiftly, piping hot and all at the same time. You can rarely get a reservation over the phone on the day and when you turn up they find it difficult to estimate how long you'll need to wait for a table. The waiting staff are a mixed bunch - some are fantastic and bend over backwards for you where as others are disinterested, everything seems a chore and are difficult to get hold of. There also appears to have been a lack of chilli oil the last few times I've been here and tracking one down appears to be a problem. Nice to be able to see the chefs preparing your pizzas whilst you wait and lovely views from the forum. Toilets are average in cleanliness. Our xmas work meal was at pizza express (personally I would have chosen a real restaurant but the decision wasn't mine to be made). When I sat down I immediately noticed that the cutlery had not been cleaned properly and had chunks of dried on food stuck to it. This thought made it difficult for me to eat even when they had replaced the dirty knife and fork... Our drinks were far too expensive and took too long to arrive and when they did they were not exactly what was ordered but we didn't kick up a fuss, we just drank the extra couple of beers/vodka-cokes that we were given. The order for the starters also arrived incorrect, as did the mains and desserts. I don't understand how they can get every single order wrong in one way or another unless the waitress was new there but we had about 4 different waitresses over the course of the evening so they can't all have been new! The waiters/waitresses were all quite young, it looked as if the manager had just left it up to the kids to run the restaurant for the night because he couldn't be bothered. Towards the end of the night we felt pressured to leave as we were the last customers and we felt like we were being glared at all the time for staying too long - maybe the kids running the place just wanted to go to bed.We also couldn't split the bill for those of us who were paying by card, which surprised me as pizza express is a big company and I would have thought they would have the capability to split a bill - can't be that difficult! This problem was solved by walking to the cash point at tesco express but it was a bit of a nuisance especially in the freezing cold!Good points: a nice atmosphere in the restaurant (apart from just before we left) and the food was good, but you can't go far wrong with pizza tbh... The Norwich Forum was one of the few successes as a Millennium Building. It is a stunning building housing the main County Library, a USAAF Memorial Library, education facilities, the BBC studios for the East of England and, inevitably, a Pizza Express. The restaurant is as good as any other Pizza Express, which in the view of my family is pretty good as restaurant chains go, but the thing that makes it special is the view out towards St Peter Mancroft Church - one of the finest medieval churches in England. Looking the other way you can see straight into the BBC TV studios. Time it right and appear on BBC Look East. It really is that exciting.

A usual good quality Pizza Express, with excellent service from a young staff, but housed in the new BBC BUILDING which is all glass and a quite stunning design and amazing to view both from the inside and out (especially at night)

Had booked a table and had a voucher for 3 courses; we were seated immediately on entering at a table overlooking St Peter Mancroft. Service was excellent but it wasn't that busy. Even with a voucher, the food is overpriced. Portions are small and the pizza had about the minimum amount of topping that you could just about call it a pizza. My friend had a more expensive pizza but it looked identical to mine. The portion of cheesecake was very ungenerous. Expensive for what it was, won't be going back in a hurry.
