This review is of Hayhill McDonald's. OK let me start off by saying I helped open this store from the beginning and the level it was run at 20 years ago far far far exceeds what you call a flagship store now. What the hell has happened! I visited here 17th August at 8:30pm, I've never been back to this store after I left the company! I'm not sure why but maybe I just had too many McDonald's when I'd worked for the company for over 9 years! So before I even start this review I helped open asda and longwater which back then they were amazing stores so I know what this brand stands for. I walk in to this store to be immediately greeted by a bouncer...... Fair enough. We go in, upstairs is being guarded and no ones allowed up there and the toilets are closed. Look to the right and looks like a boat just dropped off a load of deliveroo drivers all sitting and waiting on the bench..... Must of been a slow night. Once inside you just have a crowd of people waiting for their orders to be made up and have a manager, I can only assume was the shift manger yelling out numbers for 40 mins straight! It gets a little tiresome when youre eating ur food inside. That's only the start, we order on the touchscreen (which I must add isn't a bad idea, I like it) then wait for our food. 10 minutes later our number is called we get the food. Now in this time I observed all members of staff and what they were doing, trying to relate it back to when I worked there. They all had beards, no beard nets, all staffs shirts were un tucked and scruffy, noone was over the age of 30 and frankly all of them looked like they hated their job or didn't care. Apart from one girl manager who actually looked like she was trying to do a good job and did seem like she was trying to do her best with what she had. Anyway, I watched the kitchen and straight away noticed drinks on top of the grills!!... Maybe this is allowed now, doubt it. Floor had food everywhere, all suffices were dirty and it just looked like no one cared. There was no authority in term of management and everyone looked like they couldn't care less. A burger is a burger. Now let me tell you this is McDonald's, read the history, your working for them and should be proud! Kids could learn allot here Once our food arrived, we sat down on a dirty table covered in god know what, I cleaned it off with my hands and opened the bag. Got my food out and was shocked. Under cooked chips ( white to look at so obviously brought out of the fryer early) and the burger was cold and black/dry (now I know thus means it's been sitting in a heat tray for at least 30 mins) - it tasted disgusting. I took the chips back and got a new set which were much better but proceeded to eat and leave the burger. While eating it was the worst atmosphere ever, as no one could go upstairs everyone is standing around you and chatting so all squashed into one space. What happened to lobby managers, cleaning and keeping things under control, was never an easy job but they did it well! Overall the store looks dirty, run down and on its last legs. A far far sight from what it was when it opened, and back then this store gave fresh food, had great management and clean staff. What has gone wrong McDonald's shame on you!

Very busy, but also very quick to get the food out. The food is good. I recommend it.

been ordered our food from just eat last night and then didnt deliver order for over an hour... been in touch by phone and said it been taken our food without getting it delivered... will quit just eat and order on McDonald app instead... still waiting for refund from justeat

Diabolical. Drinks turned up with no food. Took forever to get through to someone on just eat. Had to place the order again so we will be eating very late (if the food ever makes it!)

Our food didn’t get delivered and looks like someone stole it or the delivery counter did pick it up and didn’t deliver….

why is it when I spend over £15 i pay a delivery charge I spend over £23 today and other times I've spent over £15 if you check your records I've paid over £23 I get charged a delivery charge when I've been told I shouldn't get charged

Food cold, driver couldn’t find house but never called me, spent about 30 minutes driving around when at my adress going to wrong road and houses and never called

More than half the order missing

This never showed up.. I have been trying to contact for ages and have recieved nothing. Can't get in contact with restaurant.

Wrong pin in the app , driver followed pin not the address that was clearly stated in the app

Everytime I order from the mcdonald’s the chips are always half full and drink is flat.

Says the food has been delivered but no food has turned up! So the driver has had a free meal or has delivered to the wrong address

Arrived over an hour late - ordered at 25 to 1 in the morning, it said it would arrive between 12:55 and 1:15, did not arrive till 2:08 and arrived cold.

my delivery never arrived I called up the McDonald's and they said that they passed to the delivery driver still the money on the refund does seem to still be absent

I was disappointed as I ordered a hot chocolate, when the delivery driver opened the bag, you could see it was leaking, It just fell through the bottom of the paper bag, no drink, I did contact Macdonald via the app and a refund was issued. no problem, but there must be a better way to deliver drinks if the service is offered. The order weren't hot, not even warm really yes they deliver but you'd expect the food to be hot.. its not cheap, dont think I will order Macdonalds again,

The delivery guy called to say he was outside my house however was on another road and argued with me that I was wrong. How can I be wrong about my own address where I can clearly see on the app map where he is and where I am.

Why are delivery drivers allowed to drive in the opposite direction with your food and do more than one delivery.

Chicken wasn’t cooked properly and has made me and my mates ill, took ages as well and place was a complete mess as it always is. If you want McDonald’s in Norwich go to the other ones just avoid this one at all costs because this happens every time I go there. Disgraceful

Quick delivery, nothing missing from order and was so quick cheese hadn't fully melted and was lovely and hot. Bit disappointed you guys forgot to give me some sugar for my coffee though... 9/10

The courier was great. The food wasn't all that warm though given the short distance it travelled - hence the 4 stars. Given some of the previous reviews, I was a little hesitant to order from here.

We had our food delivered. Missing a big piece of the order and they wouldn't make it right by sending out a replacement. Now have to wait 15 days for a refund. Awful service.

I needed to unlock the door downstairs 5 times but in the end I needed to go downstairs as the delivery guy not even once thought to push the door to get in but keep ringing instead.Is not easy for me to go 2 floors down as I have a heart condition.

I don’t know how hard it is to get a simple order right. I think the last 3 times I’ve ordered it’s been completely wrong and not even a little bit completely missing loads of items. Definitely not going to chance ordering again.

my order was appalling my coffee was half gone my coke zero was flat and had coffee in it my chicken and bacon wrap was hard and cold and the fries looked like they had been there for a year or two

The whole order was stone cold and there was bacon instead of the sausage mc muffin with and extra patty. Also I was missing a hash brown

Ordered this at 14:55 didn’t turn up till almost 6pm. I’d like some money back for the inconvenience. And lack of communication, I had to ring head office to find out it’s going to be 3 hours late. It is not acceptable you should let people know if the order is going to be longer than an hour.

Order ruined by someone not putting lids on correctly- no one could help with a refund or re delivery - uber eats were useless aswell - very poor service. Passing the bucks from one to another not offering the customer any help - shocking lack of customer services

I think the food would've been bang on the money if collected. It still arrived warm but fries don't travel too well, especially someone delivering on a bicycle from the other side of Norwich. It was still decent and they didn't forget my sauces, gutting when they're missing. So I was happy I got them. Will order from this location again.

Unlike in many McDonalds locations, they managed to make the fries hot, which is great as there's nothing worse than cold, limp and almost-mushy fries. The service felt slow, couldn't get the WiFi to work, but most annoying of all I had to clean the table and chair myself with some napkins. A rather busy location and lots of college-age folk who were a little rowdy adding to noise. It felt tired and generally run down and in need of some care and organisation. City centre location was good and seats that overlooked the kitchen was interesting as I've not seen that elsewhere. Would return again if pushed.

All food was stone cold, the reason for a takeaway is because you don't want to cook, to then have to reheat it to make it edible is a joke. Quarterpounder didn't have any onions in it either, just a blob of sauce.

Two cokes that were ordered were very flat and watery. I don’t usually mind flat coke but these were disgusting
