The best restaurants in St Benet North Norfolk East of England

We had a cream tea ,two doggie ice creams in the courtyard delicious. Also purchased a couple of bits and pieces in the sale, make up bag and door stop. Such good value. Popped into deli tea shop further down the road more expensive but I don’t think any better. Very dog friendly could do with fresh water in the courtyard tiny niggle. I’m use they would have replaced the water if I’d asked. Love the place think it’s great would call again if ever in the area.

This was our 3rd visit and every time I have come away thinking how great it is. Very lovely staff front of house who do the owners credit. Menu was seasonal, varied and tasty. Food and drink reasonably priced for the standard. Chefs always on point here.

We picked up a meal deal in the early morning then had lunch there later. Friendly staff and good food. Very well priced. The sandwiches on granary bread were stuffed full of filling and the bread was fresh, soft and just gorgeous. The lentil and bacon soup was wonderful too. Highly recommended. Support small local businesses and give the expensive pubs a miss. 😊

Sadly learned about the closure of this bistro at the end of November 2023. You will be very much missed by us, local residents and holiday makers alike.

We went to Hoveton Hall Garden on a rainy day. We stopped at the cafe twice. Once for drinks and then for lunch. The fish finger sandwiches were great. We had toasted banana bread with honey and a brownie. Both were fantastic. Both members of staff were lovely and really helpful. The barn was lovely and warm with the log burner. Many thanks for great service.

On a Broads boating holiday, we were moored at Gayes Staithe, in need of some odds and sods. The walk into the village from there takes around 15-20 mins, but much quicker if you're moored at Neatishead. It's a cracking little shop, with all the essentials you're likely to need - the basic groceries, ciggies & drinks etc, as well as some nice Norfolk-themed gifts - I brought back some jam and a scented candle as a thankyou to my neighbours who have been feeding the cat for the last week. Things were sensibly priced, not a tourist trap cash grab! The lady serving was very friendly too. As an added bonus, the White Horse pub is just opposite, so we stopped in for a much needed refuelling before the walk back to the boat. No doubt we'll be back for next year's Broads holiday. - Sherz, Linz and Joe the greyhound x

After looking online for a riverside pub in Norfolk we haven't visited for lunch. we decided on the New Inn at Horning. The menu looked reasonably priced with a good choice on offer. We had a very warm welcome from the staff and were shown to a lovely table overlooking the river. Fish and chips and the chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich were ordered. The meals quickly arrived and didn't disappoint. Piping hot, fresh and crispy fish & chips whilst the sandwich was packed full of flavour with roasted tomatoes. Accompanied with fries made it one of the best I've had. The new menu is being launched on the 12th of November so we will be returning to sample what's on offer. A very pleasant first visit. Ate here yesterday. It's a good big pub with an extensive drinks menu and good food. However, the high spot was the service provided by the two front of house staff. Happy to indulge me with samples of 2 beers, their Wherry was lovely and the APA awesome. I left, happy and full with a 2 pinter to go. Strongly recommend - and just a few minutes walk from Neatishead Staithe if you're on a boat as we were.

Quirky little cafe/shop. Very small inside seating area, also sells stuff through hatch onto pathway. Good tea and coffee, tasty bacon bap, friendly owner.

My wife and I along with our friends John and Lisa moored up at The Ferry Inn Horning and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. John in particular was very impressed with his beef stew and dumpling.

Didn't have any food here so can't comment, Had a couple of drinks prices a little expensive but service was good and friendly There's mooring outside which is £10 but £5 redeamable if you order food. Would recommend this pub especially if you boating

Exceptionally speedy delivery. I was told 45 mins and it arrived in 15. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. The chips and s & s sauce was ok. Everything else was very under par. Mushroom balls were soggy, chicken balls were doughy, pancake rolls were chopped up so fine, I couldn't tell where the odd flavour was coming from. Rice soggy, prawn crackers not as fresh as they could be. Curry sauce so thick it was like jelly. All in all, very disappointing
