The Staithe & Willow Tea Rooms in North Norfolk

Sadly learned about the closure of this bistro at the end of November 2023. You will be very much missed by us, local residents and holiday makers alike.

This cafe is in a lovely spot in Horning by the river. Excellent coffee and cake, service very good. Dog friendly outside, not sure regarding inside. Very popular, would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for breakfast with my family on 07/10/23, we had a very friendly welcome to the cosy cafe. we all had the cooked breakfast which was really good with perfectly poached eggs. Really good value for the quality of the food. We dont expect to be back for a quite a while but will certainly head here if we do.

The first thing that strikes you is the location, then as you walk through the door the warmth of the welcome and the desire to please every customer. Nothing about this place is average, every aspect was excellent including the best full English we have ever had (days later we were still talking about it) All locally sourced and quality ingredients perfectly cooked and served with a smile.

Both breakfasts cooked freshly, tasty quality meat and plenty to eat. Cheesecake and Carrot cake delicious. Fast friendly service and a great restaurant with beautiful views.

We were anticipating hot chocolate, but unfortunately the delivery had not arrived. We did have coffee and cakes. The coffee and walnut cake was just the best. We are on holiday and this was the best cake all week. Service was good and the owner was very pleasant to talk to. Nice place, right on the water. If you park in the Euro car park take some coins as the signal dropping out makes it difficult or impossible to pay by card.

What a find, everything so spot on!!, we cannot faut it,nothing was too much trouble for the host and all the staff were lovely and friendly, on whatcwas a very ht day! We stumbled upo this place by chance during a visit to Horning, we were made to feel special and the food was divine fresh homemade and vert tasty , reasonably priced too!! Being local and retired, I try most places from Coltishall to Gorleston, Reedham to Wroxham, on a regular basis. I come here every Thursday for breakfast. Often on other days, when my wife can join me, we have lunch together. Friends have joined us on yet other occasions. We have frequented State and Willow for around two years. The reason is, we look for quality food, quality service and reasonable prices. Staithe and Willow never fail. The owners bend over backwards to accommodate everyones needs. The charm of the place and the staff, invigorates us every time. Whether its Eggs Benedict, English Breakfast, Fish and chips or Sunday roast, sat inside the quaint cottage or outside in the pretty 'bistro style' garden, with or without your dog, you're on a winner here.

Visited for breakfast Faultless - great breakfast choices cooked wonderfully. Coffee amazing. Great service. Toilets nice and clean.

We three 'old' friends had lunch here today. Very tasteful decor, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing - highly recommend the very yummy chocolate cheesecake. Will most definitely return soon. I think it would be wise to book beforehand as very busy.

No-one batted an eyelid when 13 of us plus a dog turned up for lunch unexpected. We had a lovely meal, and between us had a good variety of the meals, followed by delicious cakes. Even the dog was treated to sausages! The staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy the challenge.

Nice location. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy their work. The full English breakfast was very good, not huge but very high quality. The tea came in a big pot, which gave three large cups. I would definitely come here again and look forward to trying other breakfast options such as eggs Benedict, one of my favourites.

Cute looking cafe with quick table service. We were in the garden which is lovely. Cute milk jugs - a sitting cow. Clean toilets. The very best thing was the cheese scones - huge triangles of tasty loveliness.
