Absolutely beautiful surroundings and delicious food. My only critique is the lack of Orange or Apple juice on the breakfast menu. Apart from that superb, I will definitely be visiting again soon!

A must visit, if you are in the area, all day breakfast available, fantastic Roast Beef or turkey Sunday dinners, wonderful selection of cakes and scones available. The whole cafe is a museum and also has some articles from crashed Halifax aircraft nearby. The owner is a passionate historian with many fascinating tales of activities that took place in the area. There is also a wonderful gift shop selling traditional Jared sweets, toys costume jewellery, and gifts. And Well behaved Dogs are welcome.

My second visit, just as charming as the first. It's a lovely stop before getting to the coast. I don't remember it being quite as "Quirky" in the service aspect last time, but front of house team were very pleasant even though they were clearly rushed off their feet, and if "NO SUBSTITUTIONS" is the chef's way of handling a busy cafe, well, fair enough, it's plastered all over the menu so can't say we weren't warned 😁 brilliant that it's so dog friendly and the dog certainly remembered ordering the dog's dinner and was grateful they still do that 💕

On Friday 21st February we drove 5 hours from Manchester to visit Poppylands and then have a walk down to see the seals. I was so looking forward to visiting after being told about this amazing little place and we planned to have lunch, coffee and cake. We travelled in our camper van as we were booked into a campsite near Bastwick that evening. Upon arriving we realised that we couldn't park in the official council operated car park because we were in a campervan. But we did notice that Poppylands had a sign in their rather large car park that stated you could pay £10 and park there. We drove into Poppylands and we were just getting out of the van when a man stuck his head over the fence to query why we where parked there. We explained that we were going in to have a coffee and speak to the proprietor. I suppose looking back that this should have been a warning sign that visiting customers were not actually welcome in the cafe. We asked the man behind the counter about ordering coffee and the car park. He grunted at us and walked away into the kitchens. A second man came out of the kitchens, approached us at the counter and said "I can't have you in here today You will have to park in Horsey car park" We explained that we couldn't park there because we were in a campervan. We told him we were planning on having coffee and cake in Poppylands before taking a walk to see the seals and we would then return for Lunch. We also told him that we were happy to pay for parking. He explained they had a booking for 15 people and could not accommodate us in their large cafe (2 floors) and large car park. There must have been room for at least 15 people in just the downstairs part of the cafe! He told us he was a village committee member and we could not park in his or the official car park. He then directed us to were we could park. Throughout the exchange he was blunt and rude and we got the impression that he didn't want us in his cafe. Hungry and deflated we left and we will never go back. The staff are rude and their customer service is severely lacking

We were a group of four adults and two teens and were greeted and sat at a table with no trouble. What a quirky place, such fun to sit in. One adult had a meal and the two boys did too. The food was hot, plentiful, delicious and arrived in good time. The rest of us opted for toasted tea cakes and delicious warm fat scones. The lattes were not over sweet, the froth was decorated with war planes and just right after a long walk on the beach. We will definitely go back.

Booked a table for 4 for breakfast, paid deposit upfront. First impressions were good, lovely nostalgic displays and touches, however the service was so bad we thought we might accidentally have stumbled into Fawlty Towers instead. The younger staff were friendly but possibly lacking in training. One older female member of staff was really rude, verging on hostile and made us feel very uncomfortable. You are expected to pay as you go, rather than order drinks, breakfast and then continue to add cakes and more drink and pay when your meal is finished. This became really stressful as the staff were unable to work out how to split the bill each time or deduct the deposit, so we felt pressured into needing to pay for everyone's rather than individually. This would have been a much easier transaction at the end of our meal rather than in stages. The bill was eventually sorted by a helpful young lad who split it down after the surly lady had stomped off. I suggest that if you want people to pay in that way, make it counter service, not table service. Scrambled egg on toast was inedible, various variations on breakfast were ordered and none were good. The knitted tea-cosies had dried food stains on them, the canned drinks were excessively expensive. Plus points are, decent cake, if you dare ask for it, decor is really good if you have an interest in wartime history and the gift shop and old fashioned sweet shop was a completely different environment with friendly warm service. We really wanted this place to be good, and would've returned many times over as it's reasonably local, but it was so disappointing we won't be returning or recommending, which is a shame.

Called in for Afternoon tea. Absolutely authentic 1940s tea room - we had the Vera Lynn and the George Formby afternoon tea. Amazing collection of war and post war memorabilia. Even the staff were dressed accordingly. Recommended worth a visit .

This was a like sitting in a museum, a bit of nostalgia, novel, something different, whilst having a delicious lunch. We all had various toasties but the menu was quite extensive. Its also open for breakfast and afternoon tea, with seating outside as well as in.

Worst breckfast ive ever been serverd. They were lucky they had taken the money before we ate. And as for the tea cozy absaloutly filthy looked like it had been kicked round the car park. Yuk! The hole place just felt grubby

Didn't expect to find a themed place like this in this area. 1940s themed tea room with a fantastic menu and lots of memorabilia all were dishes reasonably priced. All the cakes were home baked and tasted great and a decent portion. Great service and friendly staff dressed in period clothing. The shop outside well worth a visit, selling old fashioned sweets, toys and memorabilia. Poppy lands is not to be missed!

We always come here when we are visiting Norfolk. It's got the best views in Cromer and has such a great vibe. The service is friendly and the food is delicious. It's also dog-friendly which is a bonus.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here, poached eggs on toast and toast and marmalade and coffees. They have cakes and pastries all home made.
