Food was edible but the curry was not home made and tasted like it was from a jar. Partner had the burger and chips were under cooked. Little disappointed considering the reviews. The waitress was nice but the waiter could have worn a smile

My wife and myself went to Bang in Wells while on holiday. And what a fabulous place it is we were very impressed by how clean the place was and the tables were clean top and sides. And food that we had was top notch, a wonderful experience. My wife who needs gluten free food had no worries as when we ordered they checked and double checked that the order was as she needed. Thank you B I W we will be back.

Recommended by our b&b for breakfast but we decided to check it out the night before for tea! Hubby and I both had crab salad with house pickles......one of the best crab salads we have had. The pickles were amazing, crab was lovely, if a tad small. Staff friendly. Absolutely can recommend. We went for breakfast next morning and had superb full English...spot on again with food and staff.

This was our first stay at Bang in Wells, staying in the Tewksbury room, and we hope to return soon. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed. It was a very quiet room and we had a good nights sleep. A very good breakfast was served in the Bistro. The location was perfect for wandering around Wells and we would definitely recommend it to friends.

Visited with family for coffee, ended up eating from the breakfast menu. Food ok and was served quickly. The staff were not friendly.no excuse really as they weren’t busy and most of them seemed to be just pottering around. Nobody asked if the food was ok, if we would like anything else etc. I had a similar experience the same last time I visited - I said before I went in they are a bit “frosty” in here, but thought I would give the place another chance. Unfortunately nothing had changed - plenty of places to have coffee in Wells where you are greeted warmly with a smile! Disappointing uncomfortable experience.

Our first visit to Bang last night, although not our first visit to Wells-next-the-Sea. A comfortably busy Saturday night, meant there was an amiable buzz to the already occupied tables, when we arrived. The three of us were given a friendly greeting & immediately seated with menus at a scrubbed wooden table Bang's menu is just the right size, enough choice without being a daunting lengthy read. Drinks are a good mix of wine, beer, sift drinks etc. We chose a glass of NZ sauvignon blanc, a glass of Rioja & an Adams Ghost Ship beer. All were promptly delivered. We started with some shared warm bread with oil & balsamic dip. Very enjoyable. Our main choices were, one of the special curries, Chicken, Hungarian goulash & fish goujons & chips. Our food was freshly prepared & delivered. Everything was generously portioned, beautifully flavoured & attractively presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, as shown by our empty plates! Desserts were also enjoyed - a delicious special pear & apple crumble with custard, a flavoursome Bakewell tart with raspberries & vanilla ice-cream & some salted caramel ice cream. The bill was extremely reasonable for the quality of the food, and the whole experience was a pleasure. We left the restaurant thoroughly replete & would wholeheartedly recommend Bang in Wells. We'll definitely return when we're next in the area.

Probably best value for money in Wells right now. Attractive colourful & welcoming ambience even down to the log fire. Well behaved dogs too, which by far is not often the case. The food menu is great & the choices we made were delicious & well prepared. Overall the price value & quality is very good. We had dinner on this occasion & will certainly be back again. We frequently visit for Bangs fantastic breakfast but now will have to consider more frequent visits. A really good place to visit in Wells any time of day it seems. Bang on !!!!

Very lovely pancakes! I had a pancake stack with blueberries, cream, and added bacon 🥓🥓 a real treat to beat the January blues. These were good value as I got a big portion for the price. If you are big tea drinkers I would recommend being sure to ask for builders tea to bring the cost down, and to save space on the small tables (and no tea pot faff). When we came the service a bit slow 🦥 but very friendly. We were on a high barstool table which wasn't the most comfortable, but also, we were a walk-in and grateful to have been seated. Toilets are in good order (has been the case across multiple visits). There's a courtyard.

One benefits of visiting Wells in the down season is the ease of getting tables at cafes and restaurants, but the quality is the same as in high season here at Bang. From a good selection of lunches and larger meals I chose the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich on Ciabatta. We were planning our trip to Holkham beach and wanted to have a nice breakfast after driving for 2 and a half hours and before we went to visit the beach. A quick search on Google suggested: Bang in Wells. We did not book in advance and just turned up. The place was quite busy but there was seating for us. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who quickly had to get a table ready for us. We decided to visit the loo while she was preparing our table. The toilets were clean and smelled fresh. The decor was tasteful. We returned to our table, which was ready. Although they were clearly very busy, we were served quickly. The staff member was friendly and helpful. Our drinks and food came in good time and looked well presented. We both had full English breakfast and we were very happy with the food. I asked for extras to be added to my breakfast, and it was precisely as I asked for. (You won't believe how many other places get this one thing wrong) The decor is nice and welcoming with plenty of quirky pictures and pieces to keep your eyes occupied while waiting for your food. I would definitely recommend you visit Bang in Wells for great drinks and food. The beach was only a 5 min drive down the road. We will definitely be visiting again.

Popular restaurant located towards the top end of the village. Let's start with the Paella which unfortunately wasn't great. Outside you see big signs advertising the paella and on the menu it extolls that the "paella is back" so you expect great things, but sadly it was runny and really bland; the chorizo was tasteless and the colour resembled more risotto than the taste of Spain. That aside the staff were super friendly, my wife loved her Caesar salad and our friend's steak was well received although it could have benefitted from a rest before serving. Great selection of local ales and ciders, some pretty punch on the ABV scale. I would come back but I wouldn't have the paella...sorry Bang!

Popped in for an early supper with the children. The children had Mac&Cheese I had the Paella and my wife a seafood platter. The term Mac and Cheese doesn't really do their interpretation justice, it was a world apart from the packet sauce dripping nonsense served by many restaurants - it was a master class in how it should be done. Likewise the Paella, this was made with real thought. For a 'full house' of general niceness the seafood platter was generous and the accompanying salad interesting.

Been coming here for years but now has new owners. I wish them well but it’s been modernised and has lost its old seaside charm. Fewer seats inside for cooler days, no displays of quick food to eat. For me it’s just lost its appeal. I’m sad.
