An excellent place to eat. The staff are very attentive but not overbearing. Lovely atmosphere and decorations

Nice looking place but disappointing food. Went due to high trip advisor rating, but my curry was like a cheap tesco microwave meal, only expensive.

Nice restaurant, took a little while to order and to get our drinks but food was nice. My wife and I shared the fish tray and it was very nice. Lovely lightly battered calamari. The maple potato skins are delicious. My son had the burger and he said it was good but not as good as one he had in the caravan park in Hunstanton a couple of days ago. Overall a very nice experience.

Had the best flat white in here that I’d had all holiday. Great food and friendly staff. Would love to stay here next time

Had some delicious pumpkin soup with toasted sourdough accompanied by maple potato skins with siracha sauce. The team were all lovely, especially the chap who took our order. Very nice decor, buzzy atmosphere. 10/10

A quick Google before we left home in Sheffield suggested this great little cafe/bistro for lunch at our stop-off en route to Sheringham. Arrived just after lunch ‘rush hour’ and had a wonderful meal. Haddock chowder for my husband which was sensational - crammed with fish, mega tasty with super bread. I had the DIY crab- perfect dressed crab with a super salad, bread and mayo. Fabulous lunch, couldn’t have wished for better. Attentive and helpful service. Thank you

Customer service was not good didn’t feel welcome but the food was nice however not long after eating I had a upset stomach to say the least safe to say I will not be returning

We were planning our trip to Holkham beach and wanted to have a nice breakfast after driving for 2 and a half hours and before we went to visit the beach. A quick search on Google suggested: Bang in Wells. We did not book in advance and just turned up. The place was quite busy but there was seating for us. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who quickly had to get a table ready for us. We decided to visit the loo while she was preparing our table. The toilets were clean and smelled fresh. The decor was tasteful. We returned to our table, which was ready. Although they were clearly very busy, we were served quickly. The staff member was friendly and helpful. Our drinks and food came in good time and looked well presented. We both had full English breakfast and we were very happy with the food. I asked for extras to be added to my breakfast, and it was precisely as I asked for. (You won't believe how many other places get this one thing wrong) The decor is nice and welcoming with plenty of quirky pictures and pieces to keep your eyes occupied while waiting for your food. I would definitely recommend you visit Bang in Wells for great drinks and food. The beach was only a 5 min drive down the road. We will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent cafe/restaurant. Staff were so nice. Food was excellent, we arrived a little late for breakfast but lunch time kicked in and had gorgeous fish finger sarnies, nice coffee in a lovely setting. Dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but had a quick bite to eat there, the food was really nice and the staff are really friendly and dogs are more then welcome inside or outside.

Came here as a group of 4 , i personally think £96 for 4 mains , 5 soft drinks and a couple of sides is a bit expensive . My burger with cheese and chips was £20 , the chips were good , the burger was nothing special , to be honest it was no different to what I would do at home !! , the wife enjoyed her fish finger sandwich and my friend enjoyed her d.I.y crab sandwich . The service was good and the restaurant and toilets were lovely and clean 👍

Popular restaurant located towards the top end of the village. Let's start with the Paella which unfortunately wasn't great. Outside you see big signs advertising the paella and on the menu it extolls that the "paella is back" so you expect great things, but sadly it was runny and really bland; the chorizo was tasteless and the colour resembled more risotto than the taste of Spain. That aside the staff were super friendly, my wife loved her Caesar salad and our friend's steak was well received although it could have benefitted from a rest before serving. Great selection of local ales and ciders, some pretty punch on the ABV scale. I would come back but I wouldn't have the paella...sorry Bang!

Very pleasant atmosphere and lovely food

We had breakfast here, it was demand the staff were very friendly, a lovely calm atmosphere, with a pretty court yard outside, which is perfect in good weather.

I haven't been in yet but stayed in a flat nearby when on my hols, it always seemed popular and had a nice buzz it open for breakfast,lunch and evening meals

We went just for food and it was fantastic. Nice surroundings, atmosphere was relaxed, food was lovely, obviously prepared fresh. I would defo recommend this from a restaurant POV.

Every time we stay in Wells-next-the-Sea we visit Bang for breakfast and are never disappointed! Very easy to swap/remove items from your Full English and they do child's portions of the menu too. My girls love the pancakes! Booking essential as it fills quickly!

This restaurant is well worth the walk up from the high street, our first visit was a couple of years ago where they squeezed a large group of us in one very busy weekend and everyone enjoyed brilliantly cooked fish and chicken burgers. A smaller group of us went back for the delicious fish platter washed down with an excellent Petite Chablis. Service is friendly and they were still accommodating walk ins with dogs and prams in tow!

Popped in for an early supper with the children. The children had Mac&Cheese I had the Paella and my wife a seafood platter. The term Mac and Cheese doesn't really do their interpretation justice, it was a world apart from the packet sauce dripping nonsense served by many restaurants - it was a master class in how it should be done. Likewise the Paella, this was made with real thought. For a 'full house' of general niceness the seafood platter was generous and the accompanying salad interesting.

Went for breakfast and can't fault the experience. Staff were professional and attentative. Food was tasty, well presented and delivered in good time. Great value for money and a pleasurable experience. We booked in advance, which was a good call. It was busy by 9am. Keep up the good work.

We visited twice for breakfast during our stay in Wells. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. They were more than willing to accommodate requests for our 5 year old, which was great. Only negatives were that the poached eggs were overdone and the smashed avocado on toast tasted a lot like guacamole from a pot. On the other hand, my husband's pancakes were absolutely delicious so I feel like this is their strength. Overall, we enjoyed our time there but top tip is have the pancakes!

Booked for breakfast. We booked for 2 and a baby, ended up on a table for 2 in a corner with a highchair. Bit of a squeeze. Good atmosphere and everyone very friendly staff wise. Service very slow. Took just under an hour to get the food and not much before that for the drinks. Food was good, not amazing. Fatty bacon and what I would class as lazy scrambled eggs. Wifi did not work at all. Good loo's though and a baby change. 4 for friendliness, 3 for food and service speed.

We had a great stay in the beautiful and very large "Feathers" room. Everything about the room was perfect! Gorgeous plank floors, two fireplaces, comfortable bed, lovely sitting area and large, beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was amazing as well. We also ate lunch in the restaurant and it was delicious and creative. We'll be back!

Had a great lunch, the mackerel was lovely. Great friendly service with a smile. I can't comment on the rooms, we didn't stay. Would have been a 5 star review but for the slight disappointment in that they don't have any alcohol free beers - a lot of people, like myself, visit Wells for the day and have to drive! However, that said, I will be visiting again.

We were staying in an apartment on staithe st, and the day we were leaving , we decided to have breakfast at the bang restaurant, booked a table for 2 on line night before, and pleased we did as it was quite busy, even at that time of morning( 9 am) and I know why, food was amazing, I am a coeliac and that wasnt a problem to them at all,, excellent portion sizes, and the builders mugs of tea are a must, staff are extremely friendly and very helpful and efficient, Thankyou to all at the bang, will definitely be eating there again at different meal times, next time we visit wells x

Good food, great service and wonderful location. The only downside is that the bar doesn’t have any beer on tap, just served from bottles. Plenty of small tables in nooks and side rooms plus is very dog friendly. Book a table in the high season to avoid disappointment. Walk in at all other times.

Can't speak highly enough of the food we had, BEST steak I've ever had, helped massively by the garlic butter. Service was very friendly and polite. Definitely worth the Price will be going back again.

Staff and service are great, our room which we have stayed in before is lovely, only gave 4 stars because of the bed being very uncomfortable i wish they would replace it as it does spoil the stay due to lack of sleep. apart from that i love it there.

My son and I chose 'Bang' for a shared breakfast before he moves to Finland; he grew up in Wells so this was a farewell-for-a-while visit. I have a holiday cottage in Wells and recommend it to my guests too. Only good reports so far and we enjoyed our breakfast; lovely coffee.

We just had an impromptu 1 night stay here and it was superb. Everyone was welcoming from the moment we arrived - all staff very friendly. We had the Feathers room on the 1st floor looking over the courtyard. The room was immaculate. Comfortable double bed. Good sized bathroom with walk in shower and fabulous towels. Selection of teas, instant coffee sachets and hot chocolate - both a small bottle of milk in fridge. There is a very small amount of background noise from the downstairs bistro, but nothing that bothered us and only till 9pm. Best of all was the breakfast which is in the bistro - delicious! Even if not staying at the b&b we would highly recommend. We will be back.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and we discovered this lovely place. Mum absolutely loved her soup of the day and the lemon drizzle cake made my sister's day. We 💯 % would recommend Bang in Wells. 👍🏽

Visited as a group of 9 for lunch last Sunday. We booked on the Friday beforehand as we were a larger group. We had a short wait to be seated, but our table was ready and was in a nice area of the restaurant. The menu has a really good selection. We ordered some light bites and main meals (our group included 4 children) and the portion sizes were really good. The Bang Bang chicken, burger, pork belly and fish platter were all real hits. Service was friendly and helpful, maybe a little slow at times but we weren't in a hurry. We would really recommend eating here as a group, excellent food and catered for all tastes!

I have walked past this place many times on my regular visits to Wells next the sea, but we had never eaten here, well that has been a mistake. Welcoming, friendly, professionals with a prompt service. We had not booked, which seems to be the requirement in this little seaside town, but that wasn’t a problem as we offered a table for an hour as it was reserved later for the evening and we jumped at the chance. Please don’t walk past like we did, go in and you will be blown away !

Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday after a long walk from Hollkham with the dogs, a much needed rest, the breakfast a full English was lovely, staff were very friendly and made our two pooches feel welcome.

We were staying at an apartment virtually next door and ate here in the evening. We found good food, a fine choice of wines and a busy,.friendly ambience. The fish platter was particularly good but there is something for everyone on the menu. Good value, good quality. Well worth a visit ... Book early!

Arrived and it was busy, guy told us as it was just coffee we could have a reserved table for 45mins, thought great, then 10 mins later lady came to take our order and said 'you haven't got longso what do you want to drink?'. Very stand offish. Then 20 mins later our coffee order still hadn't arrived,leaving us with 15 mins, I asked the original guy to cancel it so we wouldn't be in the way for the reservation and he looked at his watch and just shrugged. No apology no words. Next time guys just say sorry no tables at the moment and work on you'd customer service.

Had a lovely evening meal here with great service. Love the decor, bright and inviting. The sweet potato stew was fantastic, the ginger and chilli gave it a little kick. My husband’s bowl of mussels were also great. The ‘starter’ of garlic bread with blue cheese was very tasty. Even though the restaurant was busy the waiter spent a few minutes speaking to us always gets brownie points in my book.

We looked this place up before taking a short family break in Wells. We didn't pre-book and that was fine, although they do take bookings. The breakfasts were really good; we had eggs royale and the full english. Excellent food, well presented and efficient. The only issue I personally would have is no soya milk available although they do offer oat milk. One of our party is a coeliac and was fully catered for too. A nice place with a log burner too, for chilly mornings.

We had a table booked for the 3rd of February and confirmed by email but they had us booked in for the following week but we was seated anyway. The food was cooked well and was tasty. The only other thing was that when we walked out we all noticed that we really smell of cooking on our clothes like a very oily smell. It's not that I'm say not to go but I'm not sure I'll go back myself.

Very busy and food was OK. Portions very small for the costs, but service took a very long time. May use again in quieter times.

I love it here. Food and service is consistently good and it is great to sit outside in the courtyard with the dogs after a good walk on the beach (dogs are very welcomed, inside too)

Five of us stopped for breakfast and have been here before during our holidays. The food was generally good (decent portions too) but my daughter’s pancakes were overcooked unfortunately - a little burnt. She still chomped through most of them so it didn’t worry her too much! I would still recommend the restaurant but as there’s so much choice in the local area, we will probably try somewhere else in the future.

Awesome little gem of a restaurant, great service, we had the flat iron steak which was perfect and their panko coated fish and chips. All really good. Definitely recommend and will be back if I'm ever in town again. *****

Appalling service, shown to table & then just ignored whilst staff dealt with other customers who had come in after me. After half an hour, I got up & walked out, but there was no comment. Obviously, a single person isn't going to spend as much as a family so isn't important to them. Won't waste my time there ever again!

We have been to Bang In Wells before so thought it would be a good place to meet friends. We won’t be going again as the service was offish and unfriendly and the gentleman who served us obviously didn’t want to engage with customers or even be there. The food was average, portions small with a disappointing amount of chips served with the burger. The chowder was ok but expensive for what it was. Despite having a wood burner quite close to us, it was draughty and not cosy. It felt like everything was too much effort, not an enjoyable experience.

We popped in for coffee and decided to book a table for lunch. Very busy, even out of season, but the service was good. For lunch we had paella and Brancaster mussels - both meals being tasty and enjoyable. Would visit again.

Thanks to such a friendly team, especially Will for coming to our rescue after we missed the bus - no fun with a 97 year old father. You saved the day. What a star!

Called in for lunch unexpectedly looking for somewhere nice for my birthday and we weren't disappointed. Warm and cosy. Lovely service and a delicious meal. Thoroughly recommended.

Ate at Bang last November and had a nice meal so decided to return this year. We are very disappointed. Standards have dropped considerably, or we were just very unlucky and the chef had the night off and the kitchen assistant was cooking, no offense intended. My husband's fish had spent far too long in the fryer and was very dry, the triple cooked chips were probably first fried last week, they were very tough. Yes, he ate it because we were very hungry having been walking all day. I was looking forward to the paella as people had been raving about it. Again it was very over cooked, very little in it except rice, two very dry prawns and four muscles, they were nice. Couldn't eat mine as so stodgy. Very small pudding menu, two items and ice cream. Very surly waitress which got worse when we didn't add tip to bill. We are not fussy eaters, we just want good quality, well cooked, tasty food and cheerful service. The catering/ hospitality industry is on its knees so standards have to be high to continue to attract customers, especially as menu prices are so high. Will not return.

Haven’t been here for ages so came with a friend for lunch. The welcome from the chap was lovely, the food was delicious and the place busy and bright. But the waitress made us feel like an inconvenience - other reviews have also made similar comments - which is such a shame.

Wow, from the moment we arrived (without a booking) was greeted so warmly, and was super lucky enough to get lucky with a table for the 3 of us. Amazing service by Rhys and fantastic fresh and creative dishes..from the fish-finger sandwich for my son, Paella for my husband and the most amazing Mackerel for me - amazingly scrummy. Lucky us... we were recommended here and it didn't disappoint - well done chef and all the team. Plus the team had gone to the trouble of providing wonderful fresh flowers (even in the bathroom) the windows (and everywhere) were super clean and some lovely tasteful Halloween decorations . A cutting edge team going places, who take great pride in what they do. We wish them every success, they really deserve it. Will be back next time we visit the area, its a must.

Really good food, although paella was over cooked and let down by being crammed into a corner, a group of three squashed in a table that fit two really - no window and facing a wall. A bit pricey but people squashed in especially smaller groups and service is efficient though not smiley friendly. Been looking to try this dining place for sometime - not sure to be honest about when I would return. Decided to return home for dessert as it wasn't comfortable.

We spent 3 nights in October. What a lovely, friendly place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Tewkesbury room, it was spacious and clean with an en-suite bathroom with the biggest bath I’ve ever seen. There was tea & coffee making facilities which were replenished every day. The breakfasts were superb with plenty of choice from cereals to pancakes to cooked options. They also served food up until 9pm, again there was plenty of choice. They welcome dogs (on leads) and some of the other rooms are ‘dog friendly’ The ‘Bang’ is an ideal place to use as a base to explore the area with lovely local villages and towns reasonably close by. It is just a few minute walk from the quayside and a 20 minute walk from the beach. (There is a car park at the beach) I defo recommend it!

We had an absolutely delicious meal on a Sunday afternoon. Speedy service, varied menu and great staff. Prices are reasonable for the area. We brought our dogs, both were welcome and looked after. I would recommend the Tantanman!
