What a delicious breakfast!! Sitting by the sea having a full English - what could be better. Great vegan and veggie selection all served with a smile ! We absolutely loved it !

Walked into the cafe and we were not even acknowledged by the owners, even though there was only one other customer in there. We sat down at a table and the female owner eventually came over to take our order. We ordered two mini breakfasts and my husband requested that he preferred it if the tomatoes were not cooked, as he doesn't like them. She then said quite gruffly that the tomatoes were in fact tinned tomatoes. Both my husband and myself hate tinned tomatoes so we stated that we didn't want them. The owner then said quite rudely "well we have them as other people like them" and stomped off. We debated whether to walk out but decided to stay. The breakfast was lovely though. Another couple came in and asked if they could sit at a particular table and the same owner said quite sharply "you can sit where you like." Why have a lovely cafe if you can't be pleasant? We won't be back although the breakfast was lovely. We found another cafe in the high street, very welcoming and delicious food. Such a difference.

Terrible service. I waited 15 minutes to order and was repeatedly ignored. It wasn't that busy.

Surely if you open a cafe, you put some effort into being friendly to customers. I've never seen such a sour and miserable staff (a family business I think). The dad positively made me feel guilty for disturbing him when I ordered. A very strange place and even stranger people.

Truly the best breakfast.amazing sausages made to the owners unique recipe at the butchers. Proper bacon ( no water) free range eggs. Polite staff. Couldn't ask for more. Definitely would recommend this place

Just had a breakfast here, damn this man can cook eggs. The scramble was fluffy and the eggs had incredible yolks. Smoked salmon delicious and kippers fresh. Such friendly atmosphere, will come back

decent scran tbf the taste was just amazing i couldnt stop eating. next thing i know 5 guys walked into the cafe and tried starting on the waiter (image of waiter attatched below for context) no word of a lie the waiter (j trainor) took 1 of them out with a spoon before throwing a raw slab of scampi at the other 4 and clearing them out. would go again.

A small, unassuming place which does the best full English in the area! All the comments about their sausages and bacon are spot on - they were excellent. Good portion, friendly and prompt service, fair prices. We’ll definitely return.

By far the best breakfast you will buy while staying in Sheringham. The lady owner and her husband were so kind and lovely we went nearly everyday for a week, they even knew our orders by the end of the week.🙈🤣 We highly recommend this cafe, great value for money, great food and amazing staff.

If you are looking for good food and good service, look elsewhere. Instead we got the opposite. One cold sausage roll and one partly warmed, couldn't eat either. They were supposed to be served hot. Couldn't leave the place fast enough. Avoid like Covid.

Breakfasted here while we stayed in Sheringham. Excellent quality food. Pleasant staff they even spoilt our dog with a sausage each day.

Just dropped in for breakfast on the morning of our short break. Very good English breakfast with the best sausages I've had in ages. Tasty think cut bacon as well. All round excellent choice.

Very friendly staff and good food (bacon butties) and coffee in a super position with a sea view. Only open til around 2pm which is a pity as we would have called more often.

Since the cost of living crisis, this cafe was good but unfortunately they've now had to increase their prices and have reduced the portion size.... food is okay and can highly recommend their scrambled eggs and salmon. Their English breakfast is not so good though for price and size.

A lovely little place with a sea view from the outdoor seating. I had ham, egg & chips and my wife had a burger which she said was the best one for ages. Decent tea and coffee and fair prices too. Highly recommended.

We come to Sheringham a lot . Especially for the 1940s weekend. This cafe is a tucked away little gem . Off from the main road . Fantastic breakfast , sausage & bacon baps ect , very resonably priced. And the most amazing view . Great staff . Perfect for starting your day . Highly recommend .

Great vegan breakfast, really helpful and friendly with a gluten free version as well. Tucked away from the crowds, outside seating with (just about) a sea view. Would definitely recommend.

Have full English breakfast but the experience was spoilt by sausage that was laced with pepper. I've heard of pepper in Cumberland sausages but these were dreadful

If you are staying in Sheringham you should go here for your breakfast. They know how to make crispy bacon unlike some other places nearby!

It was ok but young girl serving bit rude to most customers management need to train her how to speak to people as very rude

I visited this cafe with my sister yesterday. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Top quality food cooked to perfection. The menu caters for all dietary requirements. The staff were delightful, Spiros and Charles and location great. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Don't be caught out by the opening times. I think it's 9-2 and closed all day Tuesday. Thank you.

We were staying next door to the Submarine so naturally went there one morning for brekkie. Unbelievable! Home cured bacon almost like gammon! Home made sausages! Had bacon baps a few days later - just as wonderful. I couldn't fault this cafe even if I tried. Friendly, welcoming staff. Great location. Fantastic atmosphere. If yyou're going to Sheringham, go to the Submarine.

On two days we had the most excellent breakfast we have had in years. The sausages, eggs, and bacon are exceptional and the whole meal is a delight. I can thoroughly recommend the Submarine Cafe whenever you are in Sheringham.

Didn't even know it existed until I found my planned cafe closed on a Sunday. Had hoped to have an all day breakfast, only to be told they had run out of Sausages. Ordered a burger and chips instead, burger was of good quality, but the 'chips' were of Mcain style frozen oven fries. Waited 40 minutes for our food, while customers that had arrived after us, got their food first.

We just happened to stumble upon this cafe as we were about to head back towards town for some lunch. We had a salad each and the owner was keen to tell us that the crab we had was brought ashore right by the cafe. He was very chatty and friendly after initially seeming a bit reserved. Food was freshly prepared and a decent sized portion for the price. The people on the next table had all-day breakfasts which looked really good! Would happily return if we’re ever in the area again.

We were recommended Submarine Cafe and were not disappointed. I would rate the quality of the breakfast at number 1 on the Norfolk coast. Topping even Burnham Deepdale. Not only is the breakfast extremely good quality it is also very good value for money at less than £17 for two breakfasts and two quality coffees. Will be going back. Edited review as it's been a while and not sure which day/s they are closed now.

Super friendly cafe, slightly hidden but worth the fine. The owner was so vegan accommodating will return just for that. Good proper coffee too

OK food but dismal surroundings smell of frying was overpowering ,sorry not a cafe I would visit by choice.

We arrived here 15 minutes before closing, but they served us our lunch and we didn't feel like we had to rush at all. The food was great and we would definitely go again.

A great little cafe we used it on 2 morning on the spin 16 & 17/8/2021. The full English is great value. Sausages are made from the owner Spiros’s own ingredients in collaboration with his butcher, along with the bacon which is locally sourced. Lovely friendly staff, nothing is a problem. We will be using it again next time we are in Sheringham.

Most disappointing!No good morning. No thank you ! Dreadful manners from a lady, that considering her age ,should have known better. Kept waiting for ages. She then said " oh the table has not been cleaned has it ? "Errm I don't know, I'm the customer !!! Doubtful though as it had dirty pots on ....Paid for my coffees and change was slapped into my hand, not even a thank you.Will I go back?100% NO

I visited here with my husband for a mid-week breakfast on a day to the coast. Neither of us had eaten here before. There is no dedicated parking but we parked up in the town and walked down the seafront which took about fifteen minutes. The cafe is very small. They do takeaways as well as sit in dining.It has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside as it was a bit breezy.It is table service. The lady that served us (I think the co-owner?) was very friendly. As was the chef (her husband?). They were chatty without being intrusive. We both ordered the large breakfasts and had a tea each. The breakfasts come with tinned tomatoes which make me very pleased as not many places down south serve them. I told this to the lady and the chef very kindly brought me a whole bowl of them for my breakfast!The teas were brought out before the breakfasts, but we didn't have to wait too long for the food to come and the teas were still hot when the food came.They were in lovely large mugs too. The photos of the breakfasts don't really do them justice as the hide the quality and quantity we were actually served. The bacon was so thickly cut it was almost like gammon steak. The quality was exceptional. The sausages too were amazing. Thick, juicy and a great flavour. The chef told us that he and the butcher came up with the recipe together and you can't buy them yourself. The rest of the breakfast was also great. All were hot and cooked very well. If I had to pick something 'wrong' with the breakfast, I'd say I prefer my eggs not to have that yellow crispy stuff on the underside. But they were still great. And the toast, I prefer a thicker cut bread. But again, that's not a criticism as the toast we had was still lovely. And served with delicious Lurpak too, not cheap fake spread. Both the staff (owners perhaps?) were lovely. You could see that the man was proud of his food and they weren't just nice to us. We listened to them with other customers and they were equally nice to them as well. My only 'complaint' was that we were there at 9ish and it was absolutely sweltering in the cafe. And that was on a bit of an overcast summers day. I dread to think what it is like mid-afternoon on a hot summers day. I don't think I could cope. I don't think there is much the owners could do about this though and it's just what you get with old, small buildings. It wouldn't stop me eating there though. I would probably just sit outside instead. I literally cannot criticise a thing on the breakfasts. Any 'issues' were merely personal preference and absolutely not a fault of the cafe (ie. my husband prefers a less coarse meat in a fry-up sausage so it is a smoother eat). This is one of the best quality breakfasts I have eaten in Norfolk. It sounds awful. but we were quite surprised just how good it was as you wouldn't have known it from the outside as it just looked like your 'average' seaside cafe. It was well priced, the staff were lovely and the food was great. Well done. We would definitely come here again.

The folks who have taken this over are friendly and fantastic. They serve really tasty breakfast. We tried full English breakfast and smoked salmon, scrambled egg and hash brown, it was delicious.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with a lovely view of the sea. We were welcomed by the owner who took special care to ensure our visit was perfect. He recommended the kippers which were delicious…served with perfectly poached eggs and my friend enjoyed her vegan breakfast. Decaf cappuccino and soya milk cappuccinos were perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return.

A fantastic cafe doing it the way it should be done. When I received my full breakfast i was a little disappointed at the size, but, as i tucked in realized that everything on the plate was exceptional. The sausages had great flavor and consistency, the eggs had a great color and stood plump, as fresh eggs should, good quality bacon, as was everything else on the plate. When i'd finished it all i'd had enough, which reminded me that i often have eyes bigger than my belly!! So many places to eat over promise and under deliver, eat here, you won't be disappointed.

Fabulous breakfast with proper thick cut bacon, lovely sausages and rich golden egg yolks. Coffee was also great and the service was so friendly we felt like we were visiting family! Our 2 dogs were also made very welcome with some sausage and lots of fuss. We’ll be back again next time we visit Sheringham for sure. 100% recommended.

Worst breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Bacon was under cooked in parts and over cooked in others which is a typical trait of a greasy soon but thought this place was better than that with them saying “sourced locally” on there menu… bar the sausages it all tasted like Happy Shopper quality 😂 would avoid if you can, far better places around Sheringham

We stopped for breakfast near the sea. Highly recommended. The breakfast was first class. The best bacon and sausage - the chef was very proud of how he sourced his great products. Great service. If you are visiting or staying in Sheringham please go. You will not be disappointed.

Had two visjts to the Sub during a weeks holiday, The breckys are brilliant, if you vet there early enough grab one of the butchers sausage rolls. One of the best i have had,and i have had a few.

Had breakfast overlooking the sea. As a local, we love bringing guests here. Friendly service, not expensive - but food is wonderful and cooked with care and skill. Loved the free black pudding today. Bacon thick and just how bacon should be; and sausages are out of this world excellent, made especially by a local butcher. See you again soon team.

£4.50 for a limp and soggy “toastie”. Took a while to be served (and I was the only person waiting). Walk a bit further and head into the main town for better options.

This little cafe is a little way off the high street just down the beach from the high street. We went off season when the place is only open on weekend mornings. The food is delicious (the sausage and bacon I had were amazing) and the staff are friendly and helpful. 5 stars!

On a very cold new years day by the sea called in for a coffee to warm up.The table next to us were eating breakfast which looked lovely so will have to go back one day to have one.

Scrummy cooked breakfast on a chilly morning was just the job...proper thick bacon and big mushrooms with all the trimmings...not the biggest place but a warm little haven!

Awesome seafood platter at the Submarine Cafe, sitting in the sun on the seafront in Sheringham - heavy with whitebait, calamari, smoked salmon, crab and mackerel. All beautifully cooked and topped off with salad and homemade tartare sauce. Does life get any better?

A great meal with fantastic customer service

We popped in for breakfast, deciding on a Full English — egg, bacon, (big!) sausage, tin-toms, baked beans, toast and butter. We had a very tasty mug of tea, too. There's an bigger breakfast for larger appetites, adding hash browns, black pudding, another egg and so on. The premises are basic, not fancy, but there were plenty of customers. The couple behind the counter are very friendly and formerly ran the adjacent pub/restaurant. We were impressed by the welcome and the food's quality and quantity suited us fine, representing good value for money. Well-behaved dogs were being welcomed. We're locals and, as you'll see from my recent reviews, are comparing lots of breakfasts in the area. Note! Older, negative reviews go back to a previous owner.

We returned to Sheringham for our summer vacation and have had several meals at the Submarine cafe; breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea have all proved to be very tasty experiences. The smoked salmon & scrambled egg is a particular breakfast favourite, although the kipper & scrambled is a close second. The food is always top quality and very well presented on the (hot) plate.

We travelled for our breakfast at submarine Cafe based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed! The breakfasts on offer were what you would expect with a fry up but we was impressed with the gluten, vegetarian and vegan options on offer. The breakfast was delicious, hot and clean, (not greasy at all) the sausages were exceptional, but my only upset was no runny yolk although eggs seem hard to get right wherever we go! The staff were friendly and had time for you and it was very organised in that you felt looked after and everyone knew what they were doing! Overall we were very happy with our visit and wouldn't hesitate to go again.
