The New Inn rescued us at short notice when the Swan let us down on a booking. So 16 people were suddenly accommodated. We had excellent service and food. I’d highly recommended them. Excellent value for money. Friendly, helpful staff.

Nice garden, nice staff outside, total chaos going on inside. Lovely menu, but no one apparently who can cook. The food was awful to the point of being inedible, and the award winning pie would not have been winning anything at all if it was served to judges as it was served to us. We left and had to go over the road to the deli as were starving.

My wife's gammon, egg chips were fine. I had the homemade pie and veg and was a little disappointed. The pastry on the pie was hard and the veg was enough to feed a very young child. My coffee came in a paper cup and wasn't offered any napkins, so all in all a little disappointing meal for me although the wife enjoyed her gammon and glass of wine with it.

We were exploring the Broads for the day and decided to moor up at the New Inn for lunch. A member of staff helped us to moor the boat and there were plenty of spaces available to eat outside. We chose to order at the bar as we are quite fussy and wanted to make sure that our requests could be accommodated. Staff were great, very efficient and attentive. Food arrived quite quickly and was so good we had seconds. Reasonable priced for "pub" food and will definitely go back.

We visited on a Friday evening at around 5pm. The pub looks very nice outside and has a nice view of the river, with many boats moored up. But inside the pub it is very dated and the food itself was ok, but nothing special. Portions were small for the price. However the main problem we had was the rude Bar Lady that served my partner. Where I had ordered our food from the bar, where we had a child and so ordered a Kids meal that included a dessert. But at the time of ordering the starter and mains, the barman said we could order the dessert later, as we had not looked at the desserts yet. This is something that we always try to do, as it ensures our daughter’s dessert arrives at the same time as ours and avoids any issues. But after we had our mains, my partner went to order to dessert for our daughter and also desserts for ourselves. But the bar lady started shouting at my partner and telling her that we should have ordered the kids dessert at the same time as the mains. But also that it was our fault and that we would be messing up their tills if we tried to order a dessert and then demanding that my partner told her who had taken the original order. Completely unacceptable service, it was an error by the earlier barman and we were made to feel guilt for your staff not knowing the process

Making an effort, certainly, but they have turned the lovely waterside garden into a theme park. Money spent on decent moorings and furniture, but it’s completely without any soul, and out of place in both Broadland and Horning. Menu seemed to burger-tastic plus a few other things. Pub is scruffy, hence the emphasis on the outside. I’m sure some folk will think it’s great, but it’s not what you want in such a nice spot. What a shame.

Having been turned away from another nearby pub because we were too many and had a blind person with us, we were greeted here in a lovely manner and had a superb lunch and drinks in a glorious location - the sun was out so that added to the charm as we sat outside. Contrary to the other pub's capabilities we all had our meals served together and the food was super. We cant thank them enough.

Whilst crusing on the Norfolk Broads my wife and I moored up one evening at the pub, at the same time experiencing some problem with our engine. The Landlord was aware of this and could not of been more perceptive and supportive. Together with that after eating a very welcomed tasty and hot meal he himself had a temporary technical fault which he managed brilliantly. Yes location is gorgeous being on the river and the food was good but the staff service and his manner and people skills are 5 star. I highly recommend this pub.

We’re in Horning for the week with our two little dogs, one very nervous and reactive so we are wary of where we go. We went to the New Inn years ago when it seemed to need a bit of TLC but decided to go and give it a visit. Well what a transformation, it was so cosy and friendly, our dogs were welcomed with dog treats and dog blankets to use. The lovely lady behind the bar came to fuss them even tho she was sadly barked at a little bit. Ours being spoilt made it such a great visit. We went again last night and had dinner while sitting looking out onto the river and passing boats. It was amazing. I had the fish tagliatelle which was wonderful and hubby had the gammon. We could fault the service or the food and all the prices are really reasonable. We’ll be going again.

We have just eaten a delicious 3 course meal from the Mothers' Day menu. Our daughter is vegan and was very impressed with the dishes she had; vegan falafel starter, vegan tortelloni, sticky toffee pud with dairy free ice cream. My husband had fish and chips and my son and I had steak and venison pie with veg. Our other puds were fruit crumble, s'mores brownie and signiture sticky toffee pudding with Baileys. All fabulous. We could not fault a thing. It was all piping hot and full of flavour. All the staff were professional and friendly. Bev stood out as very personable and nothing was too much trouble for her. Although the pub was busy we did not wait very long to place our orders or to get our food.

The atmosphere was phenomenal! I came here with my Husband last week and the food was incredible! I had the Fish and chips because what is not more fitting when visiting a broadside pub than the fish and chips! My husband had the steak and venison pie and was blown away by the fantastic taste of the pie, the enticing aroma of the pie and the presentation was perfect. We will most definitely be returning, I would well and truly recommend this pub to anyone who is looking to have a truly mind changing experience. I have owned pubs and restaurants and having come from the hospitality industry myself I can tell that the staff must all be highly trained as they create an experience that truly transcends and exceeds all! Never have I been greeted by such an incredible team and been looked after in all my years of eating out and I've been going to restaurants weekly now for the last 45 years! The roast potatoes had a nice flavour and were soft and fluffy inside. A nice touch was the cauliflower cheese was served in separate bowls and also nice (not sloppy). We started our first Summer Sunday outing on May 9th 2021 and returned to the New Inn at Horning, one of previous best places. The staff were all very friendly and that makes a difference to us. The menu on the Sunday was very limited but we chose a roast each, but by the time it was delivered to us it was just warm and at the price at £15.00 each we find is very much over inflated, however the girls had worked very hard and when it was time to pay, I said to the staff girl WE ALWAYS LEAVE A TIP for the staff as they make the day and I gave it to her and she put it in the jar on the bar. I then proceeded to pay and I asked to look at the bill, which I couldn't read being so dark in the till area I asked her to read it out to me, which she did and I presented my card, and took the bill away. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes there was 10% .SERVICE CHARGE ADDED. Firstly I was astonished to find that they had added a service charge without asking me if I was satisfied and secondly why did the staff girl not tell me that there was already 10% added when I gave her a tip, or tell me about it when she read out the bill to me, this is just NOT ON. it has never happened before.Has this place been taken over? if so this is not the way to carry on. I can see customers not returning because of there being A SERVICE CHARGE OF 10% BEING ADDED. A BIG MISTAKE in my opinion and the lack of choice on the menu.Last Summer we enjoyed the music of TERRY ADAMS guitar vocalist, is he booked to return, if so he may just save the day for the new owners.

As he couldn't tell us what they were made of we ordered 2 veggie burgers instead...but received 2 vegan burgers with no coleslaw. When I queried this we were told it's because they didn't have vegan mayo. I told the waiter it was veggie burgers we ordered, not vegan burgers and he replied that veggie and vegan were the same!? He was rude and abrupt, no apology at all. The setting was beautiful and the waitress was lovely, but based on the waiter and this particular meal, I'm not sure we'd return.

Starters expensive although food OK. No regular menu as it was a Sunday, so we chose a different roast each. The pork was bland and tasted processed, not like really carved. The beef was good. Roast potatoes had barely seen the inside of an oven, almost fresh out the pan. Cauli cheese a mushy mess, no sense of there being any cauli in it. To top it all, our choices of dessert were unavailable. We chose chocolate fudge cake and they tried to palm us off with a a slice of Swiss roll! All in all, very disappointed, although the service was good and staff were nice. Methinks they need a better chef.

First visit for a meal since reopening and was really impressed. Service was good, food excellent and one of the best pints of Ghost Ship that I’ve had. Look forward to full opening and normal hours

I visited on Sunday just gone having seen the New inns post of their Sunday lunch menu. The photos looked so good, I couldn't resist going and I wasn't disappointed I had the roast beef and it was tender and full of flavour. The roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy and the carrots were cooked to perfection. I didn't have the cauliflower cheese as I can't eat cheese, but it looked lovely. The gravy was yummy and piping hot. I had chocolate fudge cake for pud,(why not, it was the first trip out!) It was moist and delicious with cream and ice cream, the perfect pud. Covid wise, everything was as it should be. Well spaced tables outside with a variety of table sizes so no one felt awkward at sitting on a big table. The staff have clearly thought things through and spent a lot of time getting this Broadside pub ready for the season ahead. The menu was small when we went, but the food is cooked exceptionally well. The staff are keen and clearly well trained. No slouching and standing about. They clearly take pride in their work and the pub and it shows. I'll be heading back as it also gives a beautiful view of the river, and seeing the boats moored up for the night and chatter of families on holiday was just what was needed after a year of lockdown. Laura, Jen and the rest of the New inn team are doing a cracking job. This wasn't just my opinion, I over heard other customers saying similar. I didn't take pictures of the beef, as I was too busy eating it, but remembered to take one of the pudding. We stayed on til evening as it was so lovely to be out and by the river.

I have thought long and hard before writing this review as I don’t like negativity but there really are no positive points about this establishment, I’ve read other reviews that are negative and the response from the manager is just a generic response starting as “we are sorry this was not up to our usual high standards” FACT you don’t have any high standards. This is positively the worst meal and experience we have ever encountered in any pub/restaurant.The place felt dirty with the tables all sticky, they obviously weren’t cleaned since the last diners. All of our meals either came out cold or overdone like the steaks which were both over done and cold. The blonde girl in the long grey cardigan was extremely rude when we mentioned our food was substandard and she forgot to bring our drinks our 2 times, we had to get another member of staff to fetch them.We are really disappointed with the state of the New Inn as we loved coming here, it’s obvious that the new owners don’t care about quality, locals or hygiene and are just concerned in profiting off the holiday makers with poor low quality food and drinks.Like other reviews I have read we will not be returning.

Have seen some harsh reviews over last few weeks, but feel this is a good pub that is trying hard. We have been for just drinks three times and eaten three times over the last 5 weeks and can honestly say I can find nothing to complain about. The staff are young, but keen and do a good job. Beers, Ghost ship and Timothy tailors have been excellent. Food is standard pub stuff but good. All has been COVID secure. I have not experienced any of the issues mentioned and would recommend.

This has always been a favourite port of call either by road or river, the food and atmosphere was previously excellent. Our last visit was last week. We accept that the menu was restricted by the covid restrictions. We ordered chicken and bacon sandwiches with sides of chips and a portion of blue cheese sauce. The chicken was in great lumps and quite dry and we couldn't find the bacon. They forgot the blue cheese sauce and when it did arrive it was pale brown , very liquid consistency and tasteless. My sausages , mash and onion gravy was minus onions and minus flavour! All in all a disaster. That was our last visit to the New Inn at Horning.

After having a lovely few days away on the Norfolk Broads we decided to dine at the New Inn at Horning, When entering the restaurant area we were rudely shouted at by a blonde girl for accidentally entering through the wrong door, this was my fault but my eyesight is not the best and I just missed the sight.. When our meals arrived they were cold and of very poor quality, we had sausage and mash, the sausages were dry and over cooked and the chicken burger was not fit for consumption. We left with a large bill for rubbish food. I do not recommend this place at all..

Title- Not a very nice pubVisited early October whilst on a boat with my family. The mooring was crazy with no one looking after booked moorings. Boats were crashing into each other and no one at the pub seemed bothered. We ordered our drinks and 30mins later they hadn’t arrived so I asked a member of staff where they were and very rudely got told they had forgotten them with no apology. We ordered our food which was very expensive and poor quality, the portions were small and the gammon didn’t even come with egg or pineapple. We left very disappointed and will not be returning to this disgusting establishment.

We have been visiting the new inn in horning for many years and I’ve always had great food and a lovely atmosphere, although latterly the landlady Hasn’t been the friendliest. So we were pleased to hear that the place had been taken on by new people and booked two nights moorings and meals and were excited to visit. On arrival the young boy that helped with this moring was very polite and tried to be as helpful as He could but luckily my husband is experienced at boating and ended up helping him as it was very windy. As we got off the stern of the boat I noticed how damage the moorings were and how things have changed since the last time we were here a few months ago, there was a noticeboard upside down with 4 nails sticking out, luckily I noticed it and turned it back over else goodness knows what would’ve happened to my poor dogs paws. On our first meal we arrived and had booked a table for six which was accommodated after a little bit of shuffling around, the drinks selection had gone downhill and there was no local beer and a limited wine menu, the one exception that was very very good was the sourdough and camembert sharing starter (absolutely fantastic) unfortunately everything else wasDisappointing. The one good thing about mooring at the new inn is the location and it is sad to see that it is been left to go downhill, we had a conversation with some local people and they were worried about the state of some of the places that are open for hospitality and that if they carried on giving poor quality service and products that they would not be open For much longer, especially in the current climate. We arrived again a few days later as we had already booked moorings and a meal and again the food was definitely below average. On a positive note the young staff were generally very friendly, so thanks to them, but I did feel that there was no one managing them and whoever is the head chef in the kitchen definitely needs to up their game, I understand it is very hard in the hospitality industry at the moment as I work in that industry myself which makes me even more determined to give a better service and to encourage people to come back. Giving good quality service is paramount and even though most of your clients are only (Holidaymakers) most of us come back year after year after and more than once and unfortunately we will not be returning to the new inn any time soon.

Visited with friends in Oct 20, we came to moor the boat up and my wife fell on the broken moorings, with loose paving slabs which were 6” sticking up, she twisting her ankle badly, we informed the young lad who was trying to moor boats up but to be honest did not have a clue and wasn’t concerned, the moorings are blatantly dangerous and should be closed!!We then went for a meal which to say the least was the worst meal we have ever had on the Broads, the rib eye steaks were chewy and really just a piece of fat and gristle, the chicken curry was just full of veg with 2 pieces of chicken in it, we were not asked once if our meal was ok..Later on that night the 3 ppl of our group who had had the chicken curry were all ill, this was the only think they had eaten all day and it was not a subject of drinking either as they were children. This place has gone down hill so dramatically we were told it’s effecting the community/residents in Horning who were once regulars in here. They have stopped serving local Ales and there is no atmosphere at all.Such a shame as this used to be a favourite for us and many of our friends.

We picked up our boat from Wroxham and because of the nights drawing in we had booked a mooring and table at the New Inn for the first night as it is about 1 hour from the boat yard.Mooring was easy and getting into the pub was super easy. We sat down and ordered. Food was delivered to the table in a good time and all of our meals were fantastic. We have booked a table and mooring for our last night also now.....

We booked here as wanted to moor at Horning for the night, so we had a meal for 4, food was terrible. Three of us had chicken tikka, hardly any chicken in it, should of been called a veg curry, and nan bread was poor was like a supermarket one, and rice was full of water. My daughter had sausage and mash, and said the mash was lumpy, and hardly any gravy, and the sausages were burnt. Also where we moored, the paving slabs are all loose, it’s very dangerous, accident waiting to happen!!!!

We visited whilst on a boating holiday. Free mooring if eating on an evening...great, we were wanting to eat anyway.Booked our table for 5.30pm, had drinks in the afternoon before returning for 5.30pm.On being shown to the table at 5.30pm we were told they double book tables and ours was booked from 7pm. If we'd known we'd have booked for 5pm. Really fancied a relaxed 3 courses and bottle of wine, but in the hour and a half we had our table could only do a main course.Food and service really good, just really disappointed to have to be out by 7pm without prior notice (we'd have even stayed for the quiz if we'd known that's why our table was booked!) as it was, we ended up going to the other pub down the road for pudding and more wine.

Service was pleasant. Steak cooked as asked however was spoilt by the amount of salt. I had duck, which portion size wouldn’t have fed a child, this too was so salty it was hard to eat. Disappointed so didn’t bother with dessert. Pricey. The menu was very choice limited so struggled.
