The food was exceptional and the service was fast and very friendly, I would highly recommend the carpenter's Arms to anybody looking for great food in a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price

Absolutely amazing Sunday Lunch. We were in the area for the weekend and searched on here for somewhere for a home made Sunday lunch. We weren't disappointed. What a lovely place. Friendly welcome, fabulous decor and an outstanding meal. Possibly the best Sunday lunch I've had for a number of years. We will be back.

Friendly staff, good food, a decent menu, and beer. Went for a quiet midweek lunch. Like the simple, tasteful style of the decor - done with quality and will last.

Such a relaxed Saturday lunch. Staff were friendly & welcoming, no rush but on hand if needed. Everything on the menu sounded good so it was difficult to choose. All of us were extremely happy with our choices - appearance and taste. Excellent value for money and we will definitely return.....

Some of our party had a beef roast dinner on a Sunday evening. It was rather disappointing as the roast potatoes were very hard and the some of the meat was tough. I think it all had been kept warm since lunchtime. However the mussel and smoked haddock chowder was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wow, the Sunday roast was amazing as was the service and dessert. Really friendly staff welcomed us as we came through the door. A must visit if you’re in the area. Defo come back

Went for lunch with 4 friends. Food was great and came quickly. The local beer is pretty good as well. We went on a Friday afternoon and there was nobody else. Worth visiting!

Lovely Sunday lunch. We booked on the off chance and got a table for two. I had pork. I asked if I could have a small dinner and it was still plenty for me. My partner had the beef and he loved it. Bonus .....They had Ronaldos ice cream. Also a good selection of desserts. Very friendly. A lovely pub.

This is a perfect pub that is family friendly and has incredible food. Also, the steak is very good. Overall, this is a good place to take children and to have nice food.

Party of 4 and a dog went for lunch yesterday and the food and service were exemplary. It's the second month in a row for me and I'll definitely be revisiting regularly. Meery Christmas to all rhe team involved.

Can't thank this establishment and staff enough. They opened up on a Monday, when their usually shut, to hold a wake for a very dear friend of us all. We were a lot more than they expected, and we all stayed a lot longer, too. They kept the food coming, which they also donated, as he was a long-term customer, what wonderful wonderful people. Had the most flavoursome meal we’ve had for a long time. Gnocci for starters was to die for….and the pork ribeye was fantastic. We had another restaurant booked for the following evening but really wanted to return to the Carpenters because the food was just so good. Easily in the top 10% of pub restaurant meals I’ve ever had!!!! Beautiful…and it was a pleasure spending my money on such a great experience.

My wife and I were tired from our walk on Holkham Beach so we decided to visit the Carpenters Arms for our lunch. We were pleasantly greeted by the staff and were allowed to bring our dog into the restaurant. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We went for Dinner whilst staying at Meadowview nearby. It is a lovely characterful Inn with a really good atmosphere and only a couple of miles inland from Wells-Next-The-Sea. They have a good, and reasonably priced menu. We both had their special slow cooked blade of beef which was excellent. Really friendly staff. Will definitely come again.

Soulless pub. Miserable and rude staff

Good food, I had the roast, I didn't know whether to eat it or climb it, there was so much on the plate. The host was great, definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic meal attentive staff. However toilets not any better than public toilets dirty poor quality no facility to dry hands. Probably better to have waited until I got home!

Tonight they we’re offering set menu for Norfolk week and the normal menu. We had the sausage and mash and the pork rib eye steak. Both were thoroughly enjoyed and good sized portions. For desert we had the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Again was delicious and good portion size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a bowl of water by the table for the dogs too. Good dog friendly pub and recommend you give them a try if your in the area.

Lovely pub, fabulous food, much better than your average pub grub, fresh, healthy and very tasty. Could not fault the service either. Very good value for money.

Brilliantly hosted a big group doing an annual long walk. 20+ people stopped for a lunch of great sandwiches and chips. Rapidly served, great presentation, no wait at the bar for drinks. Made to feel welcome. Nice pub. Couldn't fault them

We had Sunday lunch at the Carpenters Arms and this was one of the best, all elements beautifully cooked with great service.

Staying in the charming village Wighton, we dined here three times and all the meals were exceptional. Sunday roast was generous with proper roast potatoes and fluffy Yorkshires. Mussels really good. Burger excellent. Lovely choice of puds including local ice-cream. Friendly, cheery, attentive staff. Our dog was made so welcome. An absolute gem and highly recommended. Do book!

Banging food! We stopped on the off chance of them getting us in for lunch. Instead of mains we had starters and sides (like a tapas). Every dish was perfect and delicious. Great service too. A new favourite.

This is a beautifully presented pub has a bright, clean contemporary interior. Excellent food is served both at lunchtime and evening. There is a large garden to the rear with views over fields to the church. The pub is dog friendly. Service was friendly and welcoming (thank you Rachel) and the food was delicious and plentiful. There are a number of specials available in addition to the main menu. Everything is home-cooked, they serve some nice beers and have a good wine list. The cider braised pig cheek croquettes were delicious, as was the pork with bubble and squeak and cream cabbage and beautifully cooked pan fried Sea Bream. You will not leave hungry! We booked a table for an evening meal and very glad we did, the pub was full on arrival at 7.30pm - so book is essential. Definitely will visit again when we are next in the area.

I was booked into the Carpenters Arms last night for dinner and it was lovely. The Service was very good and it was busy which is always a good sign. I had Haddock and Chips with extra vegetables. It was so tasty. I had sticky toffee pudding for desert and I could have eaten two it was so yummy. I was thinking of dining somewhere else tonight but there is no need as the Carpenters Arms is well worth another visit. Thanks to all the hard working staff.

This venue has a varied menu in a pub atmosphere. We had a Katsu Curry which was delicious. I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. They were very busy but fitted us in after a 30 minute wait which wasn’t a problem for us. We noticed it is also a dog friendly venue.

We’d booked a table for Sunday lunch, but arrived quite early - no problem. We were given somewhere to sit and have a drink and then shown to our table. Both the roast beef and roast pork plus cauliflower cheese were excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was really good. Service was prompt and friendly, but not over the top. Very dog-friendly.

Had read some great trip advisor reviews for the roasts at The Carpenters arms so booked a table for lunch on the 1st day of our holiday. Who knew it would be 30 degrees in September? Whilst the roasts did look delicious we opted for some ‘lighter” options. Ham hock terrine and a sharing humous for starter, pork short ribs (super meaty), light and delicious gnocchi, and sea bream - from the specials board. Decadent brownie and ice cream (for those of us just needing to cool down but with no room for a full pud) Service was friendly but not rushed or pushy. The restaurant was light and airy with fabulous outside tables. Both inside and out was dog friendly

Great meal here on Friday night. I am a coeliac and great gluten free options. Food very tasty and good portion size, would definitely go again if went back to Wells next the sea

Really pleasantly surprised by this pub. I have been before, but many years ago. Brother and I had a ciabatta each, with fries, and a pint. No rush, nothing fancy, just good honest food and not over attentive staff

Went with my partner for my 50th birthday. We are both vegetarian and chose this place because it looked small and cosy, and offered a couple of vegetarian options, which is unusual for North Norfolk. Food was AMAZING, we both had the sweet potato burger which was tasty and moist, not a nasty dry burger as is sometimes the case with veggie restaurant meals. We thought this meal was THE BEST pub restaurant meal we've EVER had. Well worth the price. Service was very friendly, and I even had a candle in my dessert for my birthday, although our drinks were forgotten at one point. The pub and it's décor is great, a mix of modern design with old, vintage fixtures and fittings. The music wasn't too bad, we would prefer a mix of classic rock and 60s/70s folk and folk-rock, but not many places choose to play that type of music.

Lovely place with great food. Quite expensive for drinks. But well worth a visit. Gluten free lager on draft also what a bonus.

Called in on opening on a Sunday in hope of getting in for Sunday lunch without a booking. They had 1 table available inside & 1 out so we sat down as quick as we could! Drinks service was very prompt & efficient along with food orders & delivery. Ordered the burger & the roast beef & both were equally delicious

Went last night - 24th August - with my wife and two kids including Sam "2 Scoops". Had 2 cheese burgers and both were excellent - "2 scoops" left his plate so clean the staff decided not to wash it.... ;) Wife had the sweet potato burger and again excellent Daughter had the Katsu Chicken and again no room for criticism IPA was top notch The pub is beautiful and we were seated in comfortably Above all else the staff were very friendly and attentive - I couldn't fault them. One of the best meals we've ever had as a whole and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. 10 out of 10

Accommodated our party of 15 without issues. All food was exceptional especially the roast pork and beef.

Booked in to eat here as camping at Potters Farm. The pub nicely Located in a small village and there really wasn't anything not to like. I have not given 5 stars as we had a bit of a wait between starter and mains (well over an hour). Otherwise food was good for price and staff friendly. Worth a visit if in the area

Excellent food, good service. Not really enough parking but parked a short walk away and was fine.

When I first saw the menu I thought here we go just another pub with the usual grub so I ordered the cheese burger as an easy option not expecting to much in the way of a culinary delight but to my surprise this was no ordinary cheese burger, the meat was as tender and juicy that you couldn't get it any better there was a multitude of flavours that grew and grew with every bite but to top it all off was the surprise element of the bacon jam what a triumph. I love my food and will criticize any meal that does not make the grade so for the humble burger this is definitely a big thumbs up..

Came for Sunday Lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the lovely decor and chilled setting. We very much enjoyed the starter dishes, especially the gorgeous mushroom arancini which practically melted in your mouth! Three of us ordered the roast beef lunch, however we definitely got the end of the joint as all our pieces were tough and grizly. About 50% of mine was inedible unfortunately. Despite this, the sides (cauliflower cheese, mac and cheese) were delicious and my party particularly enjoyed the roasties! We rarely order desserts when we eat out, but all five of us could not resist the treats on offer. I particularly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

Food was mediocre and lukewarm. Lamb was almost raw in the middle section with unrendered fat. Very unappetising. Fish and chips were nothing special too. The seating area was stained and filthy and unpleasant to sit on. Staff seemed disinterested at times. Worst meal out...

Best italian restaurant you can find in england. i say it as an italian guy in work trip. Staff is simply amazing aswell. If you want to experience a true italian meal, this is the place to visit.

Amazing food and great staff. Dog friendly. The food has been great every time we have been, especially the specials, had butternut squash risotto with wild garlic and walnut pesto which was amazing and should be on the regular menu. The cheesecake is light and a delicious. The burgers are meaty and full of flavour. It’s a great place to visit for a great meal.

What a find -my wife and I stopped there for lunch -we could not have been better looked after and the staff were so helpful -we had starter courses but they were delicious and a lovely cheesecake and excellent coffee for afters.A real find

Felt so welcome and looked after as soon as we arrived! Lovely, varied menu, choices from which were excellent. All of them were tasty, hot and generous portions. Reasonable atmosphere, service good and friendly. Let down by the uninspiring menu. Usual type of fare , Burgers, Ribs, fish etc but nothing to excite the taste buds. If you like ribs you will not be disappointed. But it is ok if you want something...

We love coming here for family meals. Really cosy in winter and the beer garden is great in the summer. Food is fantastic and staff are friendly. Definitely recommend.

Booked here for a table for two and glad we did. When we arrived it was very busy, but our table was rightly reserved. The food menu was varied and when it arrived it was hearty, very tasty and great value for money. The local ale was delicious and the pub had a great atmosphere. Seriously good food! The menu doesn’t reflect how good the food is. We had 4 starters, soup, 2 gnocchis, delicious, and tempura prawns, we all had food envy, mains were short ribs, full of meat, hake, a very different flavoursome aubergine curry, Walsingham beef pie,...

Made us and our dog feel very welcome ,we stayed for food which we didn't expect amd very glad we did .The ceaser salad and chicken burger where delish .lovely atmosphere and very friendly team .
