I haven’t felt compelled to write a review for some time, but our Sunday lunch was so good it would be remiss not to acknowledge. Having made an online booking we arrived to find our table waiting. The service and food were faultless and the team serving were both friendly and professional. It was great to relax in a pub where well behaved dogs are welcome.

We are on a short break in the area with our Goldendoodle Remi and heard that this pub was dog friendly so tonight we decided to give it a try. Sooo glad we did as we received the warmest of welcomes in a beautifully decorated pub, that along with very friendly customer service, had a lovely atmosphere, and as for the food...... . Prior to arriving I had hoped that steak would be on the menu and of course it was and it definitely didn't disappoint. Rump was the option and in my past experience, this can be a cut, which if not sourced from a quality supplier, can be tough and tasteless. This was anything but as quite frankly it was the most tender and tasty rump I've had in a very long time and cooked to perfection too (medium/rare). My husband, who I have never known to order fish and chips, saw someone else's upon arrival and had to try it himself. A beautifully cooked, light and crisp piece of haddock and we both agreed the triple cooked chips were amazing. All followed, for both of us, by lovely sticky toffee pudding. Dessert heaven. Unless we are likely to return to this area again for a holiday, it is unlikely we will visit this pub again but if you are already in the area or will be sometime in the future, please visit. You won't be disappointed I'm sure. Also, a huge fuss was made of our golden boy and he was made to feel very welcome too. Thank you to you all.

Came here for the first time this week and what a wonderful experience it was. A lovely chilled atmosphere and dog friendly. Staff were jolly, friendly and really helpful. That aside, the food was to die for. Tried the whitebait for starter and did not regret it, and a steak for main which was cooked to absolute perfection. On the table we also had sausage and mash and belly pork which were equally impressive. Chocolate brownie dessert was top notch too. Will definitely be returning here, what a great find.

Fantastic food and service. Made every effort to accommodate our nervous doggo, having a table tucked out the way but where she could still watch from and benefit her training, super understanding and lovely people. The food was divine, best roast out I've ever had will definitely visit again. If we were local we'd be there very Sunday without a doubt!

I would highly recommend their food if you’re a foodie. Honestly the best food I had during the trip. Better than Dinner by Heston. The monk fish has impeccable texture and the soup base is interesting. The pigeon with chocolate sauce is so good too. And the triple fried chips are the best chips I’ve had too. My one complaint is the table is wobbly and the bench is highly uncomfortable.

Went for a roast dinner here. Nice little pub, staff were friendly. We ordered the Pork cheek and Nduja croquettes to start, it was really delicious. Both were cooked perfectly. The roast left a lot to be desired. The beef was over cooked, the potatoes were too big so some were not cooked all the way through and they were not crispy, the gravy tasted like Bisto. Red cabbage was £4 extra which felt steep as generally comes as standard these days and the roast was £19. Adding a little red cabbage would cost very little so seemed greedy to charge more for it. It’s a nice pub and based on the stater I like to think some of their mains are enjoyable but when you’re charging £19 a roast I feel the standard needs to be higher.

Had a meal here whilst staying for the weekend. Easy to book a table. Arrived and quickly taken to our table . Starters of salmon were ok and well presented. The mains came - steak and chips which were tasty although the onion still had the outer skin attached which is inedible. A minor detail but sometimes in hospitality the minor details have a big effect. The pea and spinach risotto was a large portion but very bland in taste. Mainly pea and little spinach or courgette in comparison. Waiting staff were ok but no one thought to ask why much of the risotto was left - no attempt to ask about how we found the food whilst eating (I know this can be irritating but it does have a point if someone does have an issue to bring up). The bottle of wine was brought to the table with two glasses, placed down without ceremony and not opened - anyone in hospitality would know to at least uncork or unscrew the wine and allow us to check the taste but not here and you’d think they’d bother of trying to showcase a restaurant feel to a pub. It was a screw top bottle so little effort if the server could’ve been bothered. As a result we didn’t leave a gratuity because there was minimal effort to engage with us as to the food and drink other than ordering. Wouldn’t come back.

Great location for a couple drinks and a meal with friends and family. We attended today (sunday) for a sunday lunch and the day before for a drink after a long group cycling. Drinks and food are great quality and good pricing. On both occasions, we were greeted and served by the manager Tom with the long beard. Please don’t be fooled by his straight face. He’s a lovely, patient and attentive man. The sunday roast, omg! What a treat! The quality of meat, GF options, well seasoned potatoes and veg and my personal favourite, the gravy 😍. Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday Roast which exceeded both our expectations. I find roasts can be very hit & miss which can be disappointing however after research we decided to book the Carpenters Arms & were not disappointed. Very good size portions & generous amounts of meat. I had Beef & my partner had pork. Beef was tender & melted in your mouth. Super crunchy roast potatoes & lots of veg too. Both topped off with a huge yorkshire pud & tasty gravy. We were equally impressed by the desserts - Choc Brownie & Sticky Toffee pud both served with a delicious scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. We took our dog who was made to feel very welcome with tasty biscuits. We will definitely return.

Whilst the roasts did look delicious we opted for some ‘lighter” options. Ham hock terrine and a sharing humous for starter, pork short ribs (super meaty), light and delicious gnocchi, and sea bream - from the specials board. Decadent brownie and ice cream (for those of us just needing to cool down but with no room for a full pud) Service was friendly but not rushed or pushy. The restaurant was light and airy with fabulous outside tables. Both inside and out was dog friendly

Went with my partner for my 50th birthday. We are both vegetarian and chose this place because it looked small and cosy, and offered a couple of vegetarian options, which is unusual for North Norfolk. Food was AMAZING, we both had the sweet potato burger which was tasty and moist, not a nasty dry burger as is sometimes the case with veggie restaurant meals. We thought this meal was THE BEST pub restaurant meal we've EVER had. Well worth the price. Service was very friendly, and I even had a candle in my dessert for my birthday, although our drinks were forgotten at one point. The pub and it's décor is great, a mix of modern design with old, vintage fixtures and fittings. The music wasn't too bad, we would prefer a mix of classic rock and 60s/70s folk and folk-rock, but not many places choose to play that type of music.

When I first saw the menu I thought here we go just another pub with the usual grub so I ordered the cheese burger as an easy option not expecting to much in the way of a culinary delight but to my surprise this was no ordinary cheese burger, the meat was as tender and juicy that you couldn't get it any better there was a multitude of flavours that grew and grew with every bite but to top it all off was the surprise element of the bacon jam what a triumph. I love my food and will criticize any meal that does not make the grade so for the humble burger this is definitely a big thumbs up..

We very much enjoyed the starter dishes, especially the gorgeous mushroom arancini which practically melted in your mouth! Three of us ordered the roast beef lunch, however we definitely got the end of the joint as all our pieces were tough and grizly. About 50% of mine was inedible unfortunately. Despite this, the sides (cauliflower cheese, mac and cheese) were delicious and my party particularly enjoyed the roasties! We rarely order desserts when we eat out, but all five of us could not resist the treats on offer. I particularly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

Our Scooter Club meets here on Monday. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. It's a handy spot for us as it is mostly central to all our club members. We we often get a complimentary tray of thrice cooked chips, which is nice. We are looking forward to our Christmas bash there too. Other clubs also drop in for a drink and a chat.⭐️🤠👍🛵

I can honestly say, this was the best cooked breakfast I've had in ages! In addition, my bedroom was spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable. Thank you Tim and team.
