On a Broads boating holiday, we were moored at Gayes Staithe, in need of some odds and sods. The walk into the village from there takes around 15-20 mins, but much quicker if you're moored at Neatishead. It's a cracking little shop, with all the essentials you're likely to need - the basic groceries, ciggies & drinks etc, as well as some nice Norfolk-themed gifts - I brought back some jam and a scented candle as a thankyou to my neighbours who have been feeding the cat for the last week. Things were sensibly priced, not a tourist trap cash grab! The lady serving was very friendly too. As an added bonus, the White Horse pub is just opposite, so we stopped in for a much needed refuelling before the walk back to the boat. No doubt we'll be back for next year's Broads holiday. - Sherz, Linz and Joe the greyhound x

I visited this store as it was convenient to where we were visiting overnight as a family. The store sold the basic necessities that one might require to get by. However, the somewhat surly and cold demeanour of the person who served us, sadly took the edge off our otherwise happy morning in a lovely village location. The tea and muffins we ordered to eat on the tables outside were fine when they arrived, but again the unfriendly manner the tray was placed on the table was totally unnecessary. We excused our server quietly amongst ourselves by concluding that as they were working alone when we visited, they would probably have benefitted by an extra pair of hands. However, our faith was restored later that day by the friendly and helpful staff in the pub over the road where we dined that evening. We found our fellow diners were also warm and friendly, overall lovely atmosphere. We all enjoyed our tasty meals too.

The epitome of what a village shop should be. Post office, pleasant staff and strict Covid rules. Great bread at the weekend.

Plenty of choice in stock and pleasant friendly staff. This is well worth visiting especially if you on the Broads. You can moor nearby or walk from Barton Turf (about 1.5 miles)

Great little shop, and friendly service, so nice to pick up some nice provisions and not being over charged. The fresh baked muffins were an added bonus.

These lovely ladies were some of the friendliest, most charming and bonkers people we met all week! We enjoyed visiting the little shop on the corner near the White Horse Pub, so much, that we ended up buying a load of stuff we didn't need or want. I'm no longer allowed sweet pastry treats but I was very nearly tempted into going back to the boat with a slab of fruit pie. ( I'm also not allowed fudge, but The Fudge Lady lives up the road so it would have been rude not to take home some hand-made pressies for the neighbours).

Visited this community store again on our boating holiday. They have a great choice of items , including fresh milk, cream, pies and bread. They have wine and sweets from our childhood days. This establishment is a great find in a small village. They will also make a fresh filter coffee which you can drink at a window table and outside in the warmer months! Long may you continue!

This is a community owned store- without it the village would have nothing and this is a real gem. As well as all the usual stores /food items etc they have a little gift section and then the best bit- coffees teas and cake with one small table inside and a number of seats and tables outside. They also do takeaway. The chocolate and orange cake was divine and the muffins great. Our second visit as we were here last year and was just as good then. Just a 5 minute walk from Neatishead staithe for boaters

We stayed in Neatishead and it was useful to have a local store in this small village.. You can also have tea, coffee & cakes in an outside seating area. It is a Community store and a number of locals volunteer in the running of it.

A hidden gem in this somewhat forgotten part of N.Norfolk. But having been on a adhoc basis, to this establishment I’ve been impressed with the quality of the food and drink, it’s a really different, rustic and appealing bakery/cafe/restaurant. My main gripe is that the management seem to struggle for commitment and direction. It takes real hard work and effort to get a new business in this profession up and running. This Siding, has seemed to manage to do… but I’ve often questioned, if the management have got their heart in the job, as often on holidays and days in the tourist season, when they should have been open to the public and ‘making hay’… well they were closed. STOP PRESS… this business and establishment has now closed permanently. So the feeling that I got about commitment has now come to pass, as it seems the owner/s are moving abroad. It’s a great location and it was a popular brand… I do hope a new owner can be found and the early success can be regained!

Visited recently, adequate menu, order food at the bar. We had Scampi & Chips, prawn salad with chips and Pizza. Nice food served fairly quickly and the young staff were very friendly and efficient. We will revisit when in the area.

A really fantastic little stall that long established & sells the freshest seafood ever! The crab sandwiches & the mussels that we bought were absolutely delicious. So nice to see that these local, traditional stalls still exist at seaside towns.
