Stopped here to see the abbey ruins. Delighted to be able to have a delicious lunch in the cafe. Plenty of parking, with the abbey ruins just a very short walk away. Extremely well presented and maintained ruins in a very peaceful setting.

This is the best restaurant in the area- by a lot. We ate here 3 nights running after high tailing it out off the Rose & Crown and finding the Old Bank closed for a private function. The menu was different each night with plentiful fish specials. Elevated cuisine beautifully presented, if somewhat small portions. We thought it reasonably priced. The cheese course is not to be missed! Great staff & pretty room only add to the experience. Lots of healthy options…yummy warm gluten free bread, even a delicious gluten free berry crumble for dessert with diary free coconut ice cream! We tried almost the entire menu & never had a bite we didn’t enjoy.

Had a very pleasant lunch here, good burger & tikka masala & an especially tasty Italian chicken, a friendly welcome to a nice & cosy Old English feeling place & the best thing of all is the view, we were lucky it was clear but I'd bet on a sunny summers day it's even better. We visited again just for drinks & sat outside which was great. The Old Barns shops across the road are well worth a look too. Happy to recommend

After a long day walking this was a great spot for an evening meal and drink. Very friendly welcome and nice staff. We had the lasagne which was very tasty. Nice, unpretentious place with good homemade food. If you are looking for a casual place, with locals and good value dining, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I live in S. Wales but travel to the Kings Lynn area to stay with family once or twice a year. I like this pub very much because of it's lovely location, smart interior and a good choice of ale's. However I notice in some reviews people complain about the surliness of the landlord and landlady, well funny thing but I found this to be the case as well, a right pair of misery guts they are, but I do not care about this in the slightest degree as long as they do not have a go at me directly. So we will continue to leave our women in Downham to shop and call in for a few pint's. Oh I'm 74 now so I can get a bit crotchety myself... x

If you are of an age when you had Chinese takeaway in the 80s (I did with my parents) then this place will take you back. The poor comments are understandable if a bit harsh based on our experience. The portions are on the small side. The meat content is mean. The sauces are runny. The taste isn't bad though. It's ok, but just ok and no more. Why don't the owners read the feedback and adapt? It's all there for them.

Will NEVER visit this apology for a tea room again! No welcome/non-atmosphere, had to request fresh water for my dog; tasteless toastie with no seasoning nor dressing for salad garnish plus a teapot which didn’t pour!!!!! Several staff who had to be asked to serve. Very poor show! The setting is perfect and could be a thriving business with good footfall but total waste of time and money!

A terrible shopping experience now. There are generally no manned tills in the morning, no lighting in the car park when its dark, no heating at all in the shop, terrible state the shop is now in with leaks everywhere and rusting freezers. It's sad to see but clear Morissons is dying a slow death. Not a very inviting place to shop which is a shame, used to be our place for years to go for our "big shop" but the rivals are all better on every level now.
