Reg's Fish & Chips in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Poor quality. Very small portions and no children's menu. We had fish and chips which we overcooked, chips were like bones and fish thick batter, again overcooked. Ate at 6.00pm so no excuse for not having freshly cooked food available. We put the lot in the bin!

A large chips £4 and it was an absolute joke of a portion! A small paper bag with small portion. Also the sausages are small and at £2.50 it's a joke. Avoid in my opinion and also the staff need to smile.

They fish in chips were awful. I took the chips back and asked them how many times they had been refried …. He told me he never refries them .. which I find is hard to believe . Expensive too , never offered to give a refund at all.. my family was most disappointed .

Small portions. £30 for two fish and chips. Two drinks and two sausage. As we were eating found a fried fly. Took the food back to the server who said there isn’t much he can do as it’s open door so it’s bound to happen. No it doesn’t happen. Offered to give me fresh chips. And nothing else. Kept saying there is nothing he can do. Don’t recommend a visit

This place is incredibly expensive considering the portion sizes (especially for chips) are very small. £3 price of a regular portion gets you a small scoop. I know you’re expected to pay a premium at the seaside but given the meagre portions (not an exaggeration) I believe this is a little steep. Secondly, we saw the server about to put a sausage in a pack of chips that was for the vegetarian in our group and we were then told that the chips were all cooked in beef dripping and so they couldn’t eat the chips anyway. Checked and there was no signage warning of of this!

Well if you fancy being raped of your money perfect place to go… Chips were cooked at 11 for the 1.30pm rush that obviously never materialised… Small portions… would never visit again…

wow one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Perfect location when it got busy another member of staff came to help out. we ordered 2 cod and 1 large chips. The cod was tasty and just the right size and the batter light and crispy and wasn't greasy or soggy. the chips were a good size and plenty for me and my wife. I have visited Hunstanton and will certainly enjoy going back there for their fish and chips. absolutely bloomin lovely.

Shocking over-priced food, greasy chips and small portions. If the food wasn’t bad enough, saw the owner really bully some customers. Don’t go!

Visited the rooftop bar here, lovely view, dog friendly, good polite bartender but drinks are dear and in cheap plastic glasses such a shame.

We've been here a few times and never had any real cause to complain (except the prices are high but we accept that for the location on Hunstanton promenade). After today, we won't be back. - Rude server, who muttered under his breath and gave the impression he couldn't really be bothered to be there. - Dreadful portion sizes - £10 for fish and chips, barely a handful of chips and a small portion of fish. Mine was OK, my wife's fish wasn't good - mostly batter and overdone. Portion sizes appear to shrink every time we come here to the point they are now like kid's meals. - 2 fish and chips, curry sauce, mushy peas (both in tiny tubs), 2 battered sausage and chips, fishcake and chips & chicken nuggets came to over £40, so not good value for money. There appear to be many other places for fish and chips in Hunstanton, that get consistently better reviews so from now on we'll use one of those.

Came here as day out with my family and have to say was very disappointed partner brought cod and chips twice and a sausage for little one however when we opened the bag there were hardly any chips in there so I had to go back and order a large which looked more like a regular, i get prices of potatoes have gone up but a decent size portion would of been nice. I even told the young girl on front she ignored me which I thought was very rude. We left half of it as the the was so dried out where it had been sitting there in the range.

Awful experience! The boy serving was just rude!! There’s no signs anywhere stating that everything is cooked in pig fat! When we asked for one of the bags of chips to not have any meat put in it (sausages or chicken nuggets) because one of our group is a vegetarian. The boys response was “well I’m pretty sure that they all are cross contaminated anyway because everything is fried in pig fat!” Unbelievable!!! We then checked and there was not one sign up anywhere stating this! We paid £26 for small portions and one of our group couldn’t even eat anything.

First time visitors to this rooftop bar.. even though we have been visiting Hunstanton for 55 years!! But this won't be the last time at the bar. Fantastic views across the sea. Friendly staff and nice alcoholic drinks.. Oh by the way its dog friendly! Lovely

3 of us stopped for some F&C at Reg's and to take in the view from the rooftop dining area. The restaurant and dining area were fine - clean - well managed. The food was awful! My cod was small and 10mm or less thick throughout. It was mainly batter. The fish was tough, tasteless and mostly skin rather than fish. I got the feeling the fish I was served had been sitting in the warmer for a very long time. The chips were decidedly average too. All in all a VERY disappointing meal for the £31 we paid. Certainly won't be returning when there are far better chippies in the local area.

We kept walking past the roof terrace at Regs and fancied having a drink looking over the sea, so went up. It is dog friendly and the staff were lovely. very nice area with a bar (pricey I'm afraid to say) but was still nice to sit and relax and eat your fish and chips up there.

Absolutely loved the scampi and chips! Both tasted incredibly fresh. Also a bonus to have seats outside and on the roof, with the ice cream store next door for pudding! Would highly recommend both!

Really nice fish and chips by the sea front but a little bit pricey for what we got. The fish was obviously fresh and as it was busy we got really hot chips, we were just shocked at the £20 bill for fish and chips twice and some nuggets for the kids. The positioning of the benches outside makes for some awkward standing next to someone who is eating whilst you are queuing. Overall though very nice food and we were not waiting too long bearing in mind the queue was half way down the promenade.

My wife and I were weal;king along the prom at Hunstanton when we decided to have a coffee the chip shop also has a ice shop and sweet shop connected to it I walked to the counter in the ice cream shop which also sells coffee there was a girl behind the counter and a large bearded guy talking to each other with there backs to me and one there guy behind there the girl and the large guy turn round to look at me then turned there backs to me and carried on talking I stood there and stood there but it was obvious they were to busy to serve me even though they had no customers so i turned and left as I did so a couple with two small children walked up to the counter the girl turned saw them and said can I help you I must have been invisible because she never uttered a word to me I went to my wife and said lets walk down to the sea life centre and get a costas coffee as they don't seem keen to serve me here not that I am got two heads the next thing the large guy from behind the counter walks up to my wife and says sorry for what happened feeling guilty we just walked on the next thing the guy said the girl said just a minute and I said no way did she say that I was a metre away from her you both just looked at me and turned your backs to me I am not deaf or daft at which I got a torrent of swearing and threats all the people on the prom turned round to see what was going on some way to treat your customers I have used the chip shop and coffee shop loads of times in the past but never again me wife did manage to video some of this guys rant on her phone if we had not been on holiday I would have called the police just walk on by this place deserves no ones custom

Reasonably priced. Good portion of chips. Fish rather small and overcooked a little but batter pretty good. A bit on the greasy side and not sure about serving them in a bag rather than a tray. Could have been much worse and also much better as well. I think average only is about the best I could say. I think I would try elsewhere next time.

My husband and I had delicious fish and chips on the roof terrace. Service was efficient and the food was great. We both had regular cod and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. Good size portions and freshly cooked. We will be back!

Visited on a number of times for coffee, fish and chips and evening drinks.? On all occasions we found the food excellent and staff super friendly . The rooftop terrace has great view of sea and is amazing for sunsets. Loved the whole experience.

I went for a lovely spontaneous day out with my best friend and my son, he is 7 and loves the beach his favorite place to go specially for his sensory as he has autism and getting him out is a 2 on one job, I have anxiety as it is taking my son out , how will he react to certain things having meltdowns ect but this day he was soo well behaved one little meltdown on the beach because he got wet and that was it he loved his day out even forgot about dinner as we was having such fun on the beach and fair. It came to around 7pm and we was starving as we walked back to the car we had saw regs fish and chips an indoor outdoor chip shop, as we stood in line for 20 mins inside the shop waiting to be served I didn't have a mask on (I am exempt) and my son also had no mash on ams my friend but they wasn't inside the shop waiting outside near the wall, as I was in line a family of 4 or 5 with no masks on were I I shop also waiting for there food and was called over to the counter to get there fish and chips as the man ans woman are packaging his chips he leans on the counter with no mask on and replies yes to salt and vinegar on his chips, as I approached the counter at the opposite side a young man was ready to serve me until the lady who was serving the family started shouting and jumped infront of the young work colleague shouting abuse making a scene, saying you don't have a mask I said I'm exempt and my son is autistic she replies he's autistic you aren't, then goes on.to say how YOU people are the reason it's being spread round, which I replied about how many people have been to.the shop.tjat day without a mask and prime example is the family you just served without a mask on, I am half black and half white and so is my son and friend and I then said to her she is racist after the poor excuses and way she has reacted to me coming up to the counter, I then shouted you are racist and I recorded her response of you think I give a dam she said this repeatedly with her arms out like she was ready to fight while screwing and shouting until we left the shop I was utter appalled and destrot me and my little boy was tried this way after years of coming to the sea side destinations, this has put me off even coming back to Hunstanton I would like to see this Employee CHRISTINE Fired For Her Racist Behaviours Representing Regs Fish And Chip Shop I Hope They Don't Stand Bu Her Action, I will be taking this further, social media and papers if a manger doesn't do right by the public

We visited here whilst on a weekend break away in Hunstanton, we had been here once before a few years ago and loved the view from the roof terrace. The view is still beautiful but that's the only positive thing that I have to say unfortunately....... we ordered a battered sausage ( my little finger is actually larger than it ) a piece of fish ( the fish was dry but goodness knows how when the batter was so greasy) and chips ( I think we could have supplied a chippy with oil for their fryers for 6 months if we'd drained those chips )The staff were quite rude and certainly not inviting, we left disappointed and hungry, certainly won't visit again.Do yourself a favour and save your hard earned cash !!

Terrible food and extremely poor value fish was more like the size of a fish finger and chips were soggy and tasted like it was cooked in very old fat very expensive for what you get

Regular cod, 2 regular chips and a bottled drink. £11 in total, back home I’d be paying at least £15 for the same order.The fish was delicious. Crispy batter, succulent, moist & flaky fish.The chips were average, but certainly not bad.Also, an under appreciated factor, but the salt and vinegar wasn’t too little or too much, it was spot on.I’d definitely recommend this place for a good fish and chips.

As its on the seafront you always get nervous about quality and prices, but my god was this something to rave about! I love seaside fish and chips,and this didnt disappoint! Fresh chips and cod, very good queing system for covid, and my partner said the scampi was the best he has ever had, reasonable prices and amazing curry sauce to top it off!

Fish and chips are great here, as is the coffee. There is also an ice cream parlour, and a fudge shop and that is excellent. I seem to have a different favourite every time I go. At the moment it is Raspberry. There are so many flavours to choose from and seem to be new ones all the time.

If lucky with the incoming weather the sunset is beautiful and what better place to enjoy it then on a balcony overlooking the sea with a delightful unusual ice cream & a local beer.

A wonderful place in Hunstanton with fantastic views out to see and the sunset views in the evening are spectacular!! The fish and chips were really yummy and the staff were friendly and polite! I would definitely recommend this place!

After coming off the wash monster needed something warm and tasty and I have got to say these chips were great value £2.00 a regular portion which did 2 of us, tasty not greasy and left us wanting more!!! 👍 Thank You!!

I went to Regs Fish and Chips with some friends and sat on the perfectly place balcony over looking the happenings of a typical summers evening in Hunstanton... families enjoying the beach, couples walking along the promenade and of course the wonderful sea.We sat and ordered a beverage (pink gin and lemonade for me!) on the VERY ‘Covid safe’ large balcony seating area. One way systems were in place and the seating was generously spaced. Friendly staff were in force cleaning the seats between customer which was comforting to see. It is probably worth noting that I am still rather cautious after lockdown and felt very safe.We went downstairs to order some sausages and chips which I have to say were delicious.... better then any I have tasted in a long time and better then my regular chippy which was a delight!This all topped of with the comfort of seeing the most beautiful sunset with uninterrupted views in the best spot on the promenade!!! I will most defiantly be returning!! Well done Regs Fish and Chips - you’ve got a 10/10 from me!

Picked up lunch here, nice fish and chips, served by friendly staff. Not cheap but very nice. Ate on the rooftop terrace which was nice.

We visited here after an impromptu trip to the coast for the day before the kids went back to school. As no trip to the seaside is complete without fish and chips on the beach for lunch. We came across Reg's and decided to eat there. Out of season there is not much choice understandably but there were still enough people around to warrant making some sort of effort, unfortunately this didn't appear to be the attitude of the cooking staff. The chips were both dark in colour and flaccid and the portion of fish was very greasy and tiny for the price. It was very disappointing that the quality of the meal wasn't a patch on the meal we can get locally and we're in Northamptonshire so miles from the coast! You'd expect much better at the seaside - shame.

Never been in Reg’s before but gave it a try but definitely will not be going back!2 portions of warm chatty chips in small trays and believe me they were small2 x 4” sausages in batter and that is no lie 1 bread roll, 1 pie and a can of 7 up and two standard small bottles of drink for £16.60. Drinks were £2.00 each what a joke! We asked for another tray to put some chips in for the baby and we were questioned as to why we needed another as we had 5 and they cost money. Yes they cost money you’ve just ripped me off . Attitude was absolutely disgusting.Avoid and go to Fishers 5 extra minutes walk and believe me you won’t be disappointed there.

At the time of writing, this place had been open for about 16 months.It was a small fair before. However it adds something to the front, somewhere to eat, drink and relax with a roof terrace.Was open later too! (Most eating places around here either have strange, irregular opening hours or just close early)We just had some chips, but they were tasty, and service was quick, they obviously knew their bust periods and have enough chips ready at the right time, meaning no long waits for hurried chips which end up being to greasy.

Visited here last week. I was called thick by the girl that served me called becky. This was because I attempted to move the salt and vinigar as I couldn't carry all of the hot food to the salt and viniger station!!! I complained to the owner who said I was a liar. I've never had to complain or write a bad review before but the way I was made to feel was very upsetting. Food was cold and small portions so overall I will not be going back.

Rude staff , man spoke to my 11 year old daughter like she was stupid and stood watching her place rubbish in the bin he said "read the sign I know what you silly youngsters are like " a young assistant came from downstairs and snatched the salt off the table rudely saying to us " god other people need it " after telling us we could could take it we had literally just used it and my son was about to return it . awfully rude people no customer service or people skills !!

Pretty much as the title suggests really. The food was absolutely spot on, good portions, really tasty, and the roof top seating makes a fantastic change and is a very welcome addition to the town. But the prices just left a sour taste in my mouth. 2 standard cod, chips, mushy peas, and a small sausage and chips, 2 cokes, came to just shy of £25. I guess you’re paying for the location, but it’s just a ‘normal’ take away chippy, not a restaurant.

Great location if you want that true Fish and chips on the seafront experience. Great fish and tasty chips. Bonus with an ice cream parlour next door for desert. Would highly recommend 👌🏼

Great place to visit. Just sit on the roof terrace drinking alcoholic of soft drinks or just a nice coffee enjoying hinstantons best ice cream(gelato) does it Get much better

This fish and chip shop is the best in Hunstanton. The fish and chips and sausage and chips were lovely. The chips had lots of flavour and were delicious and the fish was amazing, very fresh. The lady serving and the man frying the fish were very friendly too. Can recommend 100%

This is a fish and chip takeaway (with outside seating) on the front at Hunstanton. Acceptable, but unremarkable fish and chips and rather expensive for what they were.

Sorry to say , nice to see new places opening up so much potential with a great spot on seafront. BUT worst fish and chips Weve had in Hunstanton . Chips had some green bits and loads of black eyed chips. £15 wasted

The Owners are lovely people, food was nice and the view and terrace is just beautiful.. This is a must if you visit Hunstanton.

Chips were undercooked and tasteless. Fish cake at first tasted fine but later on in the day I was ill. Bearing in mind I didn't eat anything between the time I left and the time I started feeling ill I believe it to be this place. Will never be going again

Took a detour looking for a bank holiday beverage, went to regs fish and chip bar, we were over heard by the counter staff looking for a sit down bar area.. they pointed us to the right direction.

We decided to visit Hunstanton for our anniversary and saw that these place was busy and stopped just to get some chips. The staff were very slow but the chips were lovely. There were a lot of people have fish and that looked nice.

As a local resident of Hunstanton, and a keen walker it was nice to see a new fish and chip shop open at the sea front, so whilst out today (Saturday) we stopped off for a portion of chips and sit down whislt looking at the beautiful scenery. However after waitng for a few minutes which was not a problem the medium portion of chips were ready, but to say we were dissapointed was an understatment, for the price of the portion it was no more than one potato worth of chips in a small cardboard tray.......just a little too expensive, however service was excellent.
