The best restaurants in Colchester East of England

If I could give minus I would, food absolutely awful cold and soggy rang up and wouldn't even replace some of the food was told no pay for basically what you get.. No meat had to reheat some or the family food as diabetic and waited 2 hrs would never recommend this place at all

.... why do they cook enough chips to feed a coach load and the chips are left to go cold and soggy. The Manager (was wearing a white shirt) tried to give me cold chips, I refused to take them, he wasn't happy, but I got freshly cooked ones

Put cheese on subway for someone with specific dietary restrictions when it was not ordered. Have been unable to contact them via phone or email.

I do NOT recommend this place at all. This used to be my favourite place for food. 28/3/25, I ordered a delivery through their website at 8pm. Took the payment but no confirmation message. It is now 10pm. Still no confirmation message and cannot get through to the company to see what is happening. I even tried to call on my partners phone and it rings but no one answers. NOT HAPPY AT ALL! I really hope I get my money back!!!!!!!

Lovely staff, very polite and helpful, but wrong meal arrived, my husband had finished his by the time the correct meal arrived. The hot meal was served on a cold plate and the food was not thoroughly heated. Not an enjoyable meal or experience. We were offered 1 x complimentary drink to compensate. :(

I know people might say "it's only KFC, so what do you expect?" I still expect a certain level of satisfaction even with basic cheap eats. The chicken was greasy, I mean REALLY greasy, and also a little overcooked. The chips were soggy and the service mediocre

Waited 10 minutes for 3 chicken burgers, which is fine, but they turn up stone cold. The portion size of the fillets did not even fill half the size of the bun. I spoke to staff who got the manager, he did not ask what the problem was just said "card or cash refund?" I asked if there was a reason why food was cold and small, he just replied "short staffed" Poor food and customer service. Complaint sent to KFC and they offer a £5 voucher which does not even cover the cost of a chicken fillet burger priced at £5.99.

Rubbish customer service & absolute joke Ordered pizza & even call them to ask Cook Well my pizza So not just was uncooked even cold, Call them next day the same time but just been rude & hang up On me Then call again speak to Manager but again didn't do anything Not even apologies.

Should have checked the online reviews first. Ordered a take away for 17:30 delivery, turned up at 18:10, cold, soggy, grease and completely inedible. They don't answer the phone when you call, they don't apologise for being late and I am not sure what quality check the "food" goes through but you can see the state it arrive in the photos. Pizza Hut customers services are just as bad, giving slightly under 50% back in a voucher to be spent online - I'll never order from here again, should have stuck with Domino's. What a waste of good money but at least I'll not make that mistake again, plenty of other places serve decent food and want peoples business, I'll use them. the Hut needs to have a work with itself because clearly the management don't give two hoots.

Had a delivery from here and the food really wasn't that great. Ribs full of inedible bits, ended up throwing away far more than you could actually eat. Other dishes were very watery and didn't taste that great. Spring rolls were good and other dishes were ok but shame about the rest.

Didn’t open on time, no selection of sandwich’s or wraps (flat bread roll). Staff late. Website shows 0600hrs opening, if you are going to be late post a message on your site!!

The food and service is so disappointing!! We had ordered aalu nimki and chatpatey. The aalu nimki was so greasy. All I can taste was mustard oil. There was no flavor of aalu nimki at all!!! Chatpatey was the same story. After 40 minutes of waiting, that was the kind of food we were served. Never coming back !!

Quality has gone downhill fast. The chips all stuck together and the fish had rubbery batter, skin on and oil was not drained. Pretty grim.

Afternoon Tea Advised of severe nut allergy at point of booking. Served coffee and walnut cake !!! Waiter took it away and said its only touching a couple of other slices. Brought back 2 plates, one with the coffee & walnut cake and another without and proceeded to place both back on the table ! Severe nut allergy means severe nut allergy !!! Cakes were shop bought and not fresh, one small scone each, brown bread sandwiches stale. The pot of tea was lovely and the highlight

Terrible experience and probably why it’s not there anymore / Minus ⭐️ Could have been a Cool Venue .
