We ordered take out food from here via an app. Delivery was prompt and food was excellent. Will try the eat in next.

The food was horrible. I ordered singerpore noodles which was my worst chinese meal ever it looked and tasted like noodles were heated up then sprinkled with raw with raw curry powder then raw veg and and a few bits of meat thrown on top. The texture was horrible with everything covered in curry powder for £9 complete waste of money, could not eat that rubbish. Don't waste your money here

Ordered from here because of their vegan options. and there has been a major improvement. I had salt and pepper tofu and vegan Vietnamese rice noodles and it was the nicest takeaway i’ve had in years. I couldn’t order the vegan chow mein as the description states it’s made with egg noodles so that needs to be fixed. I can’t recommend the dishes I had strongly enough though. wow!

Unfortunately, arrived late, cold and flavourless. I should’ve viewed the reviews before ordering.

Probably the worst takeaway we’ve ever had. The rice was overcooked and dry, the Thai curry was oily, flavourless and devoid of meat. The Pad Thai was the wrong type of noodles, should’ve been pork but also had chicken and half cooked prawns. The satay chicken was overcooked, dry and didn’t have enough satay sauce, the prawn toast was soggy and soaked in oil. All in all it’s one to avoid ongoing. Complete waste of money.

Ordered takeaway from here. The chicken balls were limp and soggy, like they’d been reheated several times. They were so mushy and unpleasant that I almost rang up for a refund, but was so hungry by that point that I just broke out the sweet-and-sour and rolled with it. The chilli beef chow mein was more edible, though packed in a thin cardboard box constantly threatening to soak through. Overall this meal was worth just less than half the £20.00 I paid for it.

Food is awful, inedible; over salted, greasy rice, stale prawn crackers, none of the food was fresh. Paid a lot of money and chuched nearly all of it out. It was my daughter's birthday but this was no treat!

Worst Chinese ever, threw in the bin. Sauce was like water, noodles were uncooked and plain, straight from a pack no soy sauce or anything and the chicken balls were so stodgy and bouncy, didn’t feel safe to eat any of it!

The worst take away ever, we ordered chicken black bean , which was more like a soup (well mainly water mixed with soy sauce) no taste whatsoever, beef in Sichuan chili sauce and there was literally 3 peaces of beef. Very small portion of tasteless noodles. The worst food we ever tried.

Hands down the most disgusting excuse for a Chinese I have every had. Hugely overpriced, delivered late, greasy and cold. We felt sick after eating and ended up ordering from somewhere else as we had barely eaten any of it.

Ordered through UBER eats the DIY noodle, tasteless and bland with no teriyaki sauce in sight. Also One word to describe the salt and pepper lamb ribs would be vile. Would not recommend. Terrible.

First time ordering here, 1st off the DIY noodles was actually nice it just needed some extra sauce and it would be loads better, the sushi was gross! Sorry but I've never smelt avocado sushi like that in my life and I absolutely love sushi. Won't buy it again and feel lucky it was not fish otherwise I'd be scared as he'll I would get ill!! Last not least, according to the delivery driver they don't give change out, we'll then you need to put that in clear bold letters on your site or the Colchester eat app!! Whilst I under most company love a tip and I mean I don't mind tipping, it should be a choice though we ain't America where its mandatory, so no change was given at all. Cool I don't even mind I'm just stating an opinion. Would I order again? NOPE!! There is far better places to eat out from, which is worth the money and the portions, well my 9 month old could eat more than what you give. Wished I read the views before hand, but lesson learned.

Wish I had read the reviews, tasteless dry and almost cold. Greasy fatty lamb ribs, egg rice dry and flavourless. Duck tasted nothing like duck. Salmon burnt and greasy. Bland and not cheap! Just don't waste your money.

Bland boring tasteless food. The chicken satay noodles are really dry and came with a no sauce! The spring rolls taste like frozen party food from Iceland. Extremely disappointed. Waste of £30! Will not recommend at all.

Don’t be fooled by the photos on the website - completely misleading. One of the worst take aways we have had. The menu sounded amazing with so many dishes. All the dishes were completely tasteless. The tofu was hollow and not crispy at all (for deep fried tofu), the satay sauce was processed tasting, gloopey and definetely didn’t have much (if any) peanut in. Chicken satay noodles were tasteless and the flavour of the Katsu chicken also didn’t go down well. Overall, really regretting trying Noodle Express.

Quite honestly the chips are fantastic, and if you want a decent bowl of ramen this is a great place to order from.

The House special chow moi was fantastic! The meal was spicy and hot and fresh. It was tasty from the first to the last piece. It was loaded with the meat and King prawns. The portions were good as well.

Worst Chinese ever £7 for teriyaki chicken breast and veg… 3slices of dry chicken rest vegetables £8 king prawn noodles again the lucky 3 prawns that made it in, the noodles were rank. Absolute rip off ruined my day

What a disappointment!! I ordered chicken balls (which were soggy), beef Thai curry ( didn't taste remotely Thai and was oily! Got charged £5.50 for a egg fried rice that was oily and chips where cold and soggy. Not one dish was nice.

I ordered via ubereats and saw they had a 4.1 rating. Thats good enough for some quick working away hotel food. Then I checked Google after I ordered and saw the 2.2 star and got kind of worried.. Truth is don't be worried and be put off from ordering. Food turned up on time, was all very hot, gyoza were good and spring rolls were good too. Lots of meat in the DIY noodle box too. Maybe not 5 star quality but definitely a 4 star. Reason for the 5 star is because 2.2 is too low!!

Absolutely vile, gutted I didn't think to look at the reviews first, learnt a lesson. Very greasy, the curry sauce was like water, the crispy beef was soft and soggy and the ribs were more fat than meat. AVOID. We also now can't get in touch with them as the number is out of service. Poor customer service too.

Absolutely vile and inedible. The sushi was flavourless and came with no soy or ginger and promised. It was falming appart and seemed to be made by someone that had never had susbi before. Chow mein was flavourless and weird tasting. The rice was stodgy basmati rice and over cooked. The rahmem was just fhe cheapest packet noodles you can get for 39p in a supermarket with tinned peas and carrots dumped on top. Terriyaki had no sauce on it. Genuinly the worst takeaway we have ever had! Had to throw it in the bin.

Ordered via Uber eats. Chicken balls were covered in raw batter and the Singapore rice noodles were egg noodles in one large lump with a slice of grey lime on the side. We had other dishes but weren’t risking eating any of it. Steer clear. Wish we had seen the reviews before we ordered.

The worst take away I've ever had. The Singapore rice noodles, was not rice noodles, was not spicy and full of grease and oil. It also had Carrot peelings which I would never serve at home let alone from a restaurant. The Ramen looked like packet noodles with cooked chicken, peas and sweetcorn that look like they came from frozen packaging, certainly not grilled chicken. I ordered cheesy chips for the kids that came with no cheese. The sushi was hardly edible and came with the tiniest amount of wasabi. I barely ate and I'm a dustbin, really disappointed.

All dishes were not Upto standard and were not eaten even the rice was oily . So disappointing when you look fwd to a Takeaway that also will not accept the good was poor.

We just ordered allegedly Kung po chicken.. so not in batter, no peanut or maybe 2 ? And some noodles that were boiled?no stir fry for sure the worst Chinese I have ever had .. now is see why delivery times are good because no one eats there !!!! Shocking !?!!

This is probably the worse Chinese we've had. My partner had crispy chilly beef he had one mouth full and spat it out said it tasted chemicals. I had chicken balls the batter was so rubbery and chicken chow main was so tough... won't be going back and I would highly recommend trying somewhere else

The worst food we have experienced in years. Stinking, rotten pork. Everything tasting of burnt fat. Everything stone cold. We plated it up and threw it away as the smell was so bad.

I love Gyoza dumplings from here. I also love the sweet and sour chicken. Never had problem with an order and food always arrived within an hour.

HORRIBLE. The worst food I've eaten. Firstly it was late then they gave me the wrong order and food cold. The food was horrific, the teriyaki duck had zero teriyaki sauce on it, just fried very very oiled duck and vegetables so much oil it ended up in the bin. The salt and pepper chicken wings were equally horrible. And yet again a bucket load of oil and very tasteless. The soya sauce was the only good thing and that's because they didn't make it. This is the worst food I've eaten in the last 25yrs. If I could give them a zero I would. worse still it cost me £25 biggest waste of money ever you get better quality from a £1 frozen ready meal, small portion size as well. AVOID.

Closest to indo-chinese in Colchester. I ordered chicken in black bean sauce, veggie rice noodles and spring rolls. It was very savoury and not bland or sweet.

AVOID!!! I’d give it ZERO STARS if that was possible. Got a text to say the food will be delayed, which wasn’t a problem at all. I was happy to wait a little bit longer. However, on arrival of the food, it was Luke warm, soggy, flavourless, bland and just simply disgusting. The “crispy” duck was literally soggy and didn’t have a single bit of crisp about it. The egg fried rice tasted of nothing, literally tasted like it had come out of a microwave. Never had such massive lumps of egg in my egg fried rice before. Me and my boyfriend had one mouthful and threw it in the bin. The chicken chow mein was also flavourless? Not sure who is responsible for the cooking but clearly they need to learn how to cook, CCM is meant to be full of flavour and delicious. The chips were literally cardboard? I’ve had nicer oven chips before. Don’t even get me started on the sweet and sour chicken. The bits of chicken were completely soggy that the chicken and the outer layer of bater were separate. The sauce tasted like water. There was absolutely nothing sweet and sour about it. The whole order went in the bin. I’ve never had such a horrendous takeaway experience before. I would have been better off getting the supermarket Chinese ready meals. They would have tasted a lot nicer!!! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. On speaking to the restaurant, I was told “theres no way your food could have been cold “ - word of advice Noodle Express, don’t try and accuse your customers of lying. clearly this is a regular occurrence from reading the reviews on your page. TIME TO PULL YOUR FINGER OUT BEFORE YOU GET CLOSED DOWN !

Absolutely disgusting. Sweet and sour chicken balls were soggy burnt chunks of greasy chicken with some foul coating on. Singapore noodles were no such thing. Looked like 2 pot noodles emptied out into a container with a pint of oil chucked on top. Literally one prawn and 2 burnt bits of chicken in. I didn’t even take one mouthful, it went straight in the bin. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You’re a disgrace to your profession. Close your revolting take away down now.

Just recieved an order from these through just eat, easily the worst food I've ever ordered. Threw £60 worth of food in the bin, wouldn't even feed the dog this slop. Never order from these people unless you want terrible so called food. Bright pink sweet and sour sauce, sloppy chicken and jellied black bean sauce. Shocking. Only giving 1 star so it shows up

Absolutely distraught spend £60 on food and had to throw it away!!! the food was under cooked, slimey and tasted off. The sweet and sour sauce is glutenous and everything that I tasted was like its been cooked in bulk and just re heated in a microwave. I recommend that no one orders here it it a complete atrocity and this place needs to shut down. Its horrendous and that's an understatement. I phoned up for a refund or explanation and basically got told too F off. this is a disgrace.

My boyfriend and I have ordered from this restaurant several times. They have a slightly different menu compared with other Chinese takeaways. Prices are really good and deliveries are always less than 1 hour.

Disgusting food, very soggy, watery sweet and sour sauce, was cold when it arrived. Was completely unedible and was chucked out after a few mouthfuls. I rang up to complain and the man i spoke to was very rude, denied that i had ordered it from there despite telling them the time, name and having the receipt in hand. Was told there was nothing they could do and not offered an apology or anything. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Easily the worst Chinese take away I've ever had! The food was very greasy, the crispy chicken balls were a soggy mess, the chilli beef wasn't crispy at all and like eating rubber, Iceland brand chips and spring rolls, really watery sweet and sour sauce. Only positives were the fortune cookies were yummy and the food was actually on time we ended up binning the food after a few mouth fulls and ordered from somewhere else instead. Avoid this place at all costs and go else where for food!

We had black bean sause torfu which tasted of nothing. The noodles we had were alright but even the sauces felt watered down. The food came out fast and it wasn't that expensive but still not worth it

Mixed bag, tiny portion size - very little sweet and sour sauce, small portion of French fry style chips, not many chicken balls. Burger was on the soggy side. Could have been warmer. But it was quite tasty. Wouldn't use again

I cannot tell how disappointed I am with this order. It was my first time ordering from Noodle Express and I really wanted to treat my partner and I with a gorgeous dinner, therefore I spent a good amount of money on the food. I am left hungry and disgusted with the quality of the food we received. Not only that it came cold, but it tasted absolutely disgusting. Chicken gyozas were ok, but that’s pretty much it. Sushi was not fresh and tasted horrible, what was supposed to be Thai beef curry looked like a stir-fry covered in some red jelly like goo and tasted of nothing. Chicken with oyster sauce was horrible, this is not what oyster sauce tastes like!!! What kind of “chef” cooks for this restaurant? He/she doesn’t know how to prepare the dishes they say they offer. I am really distressed and unhappy about this whole experience, I want my money back. See the photos of the red goop in one of the dishes.

Ordered a takeaway from Noodle Express through JustEat. Lovely Chinese food - all the classics. Duck noodles were lovely and the handmade gyoza were very tasty. Can't wait to order my next takeaway from here.

This take away has a slightly different menu from most Chinese take aways, however, we did find that the choice we made on the day was really salty. They use environment friendly paper packaging most of the time. They can be found on the Just Eat app and have always delivered on time. Good service.

Absolutely awful!!!! Prawn crackers served in a premier bag, extremely dry chicken with no sauce on, crap starter bundle that cost £15! Kung po tasted like nothing, very bland and boring, had jelly in it and the chicken was bone dry! I normally can eat anything but didnt touch the kung po as it was so bad. The egg rice that I ordered came as noodles and was given really small portion. Also, they were so plastic we thought they were from a supermarket. Extremely unhappy with the £30 order we made, do not order here!!

By far the worse chinese we’ve had in our years in Colchester, order was wrong, rice was hard and extremely dry , the beef in black bean was like shredded beef and both beef and sauce were burnt and inedible, Kung Po chicken and beef in oyster sauce which should have been chicken were also inedible - beware !!

Noodles all stodgy and clumped together chewy to eat, not fresh at all. No taste what so ever, chips old and not fresh! How can you go wrong with cucumber!!! It was soggy. Duck had lots of fat and not much meat for the rolls. Will not be going again!!!!

I have never really left a review for anywhere I have dined at. If I like the place I'll go back, if I don't I'll choose not to go there again. However this place is just horrendous!! The worst food experience I have ever encountered in my life! If I could put a lower score they would be in the minus it was that bad. The delivery wasn't too long at all about 35 mins. I ordered crispy chilli beef... Nothing about it was crispy it was more like rubber warmish temperature! Most likely microwaved. Kung pao chicken the sauce was like water and was very bland. Chicken balls in a crispy batter, yeah not crispy just soggy. Spring rolls were probably nought from Iceland. The noodles weren't vermicelli they were udon and cold. Phoned up to make a complaint and get my money back, to which they said they could only give me half back because they worked hard on our order. After a long feud with them they said bring the food back to our restaurant and we will give you the money back. I would not be surprised if they reused that food for another order. Horryfying experience, I would feel bad giving their food to rats.

First time I ordered from here as hubby wanted thai and son wanted Chinese. I wont be ordering again. The food was nothing like what I had imagined. It had zero taste, was over cooked and was mainly cold. Such a shame, waste of money and my son ended up having beans on toast as he disliked it so much :(

Don't trust these reviews. Most of these people have only 1 review, clearly they are just competition that seeks to discredit this installment. My wife has already posted her review and we were disheartened to see that this great restaurant fell victim to the curse that is fake Google Reviews. Keep it up, love the food.

Avoid ! If I could give no stars I would have , Crispy sweet and sour beef was black and looked disgusting, none of the food had any taste whatsoever, lamb ribs tasted of nothing and were just fat, and everything was covered in coriander, probably to hide the fact it had no other taste , don’t waste your money! Overpriced awful food We won’t be ordering EVER again
