Great place for lunch. Eat here often.

I don’t usually write reviews but this place is 10/10!! Our waitress was such nice and friendly waitress. She was incredibly patient and took her time to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was incredible and was absolutely cooked in the most delicious way plus the service was incredibly fast too! The place was so beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was so peaceful. They made my birthday so special!! They also gave me and my friends extra fruits and fortune cookies for free which I’m so thankful for! I definitely recommend this place!

We used to eat here regularly but hadn't been for a while, then have been a few tomes recently. Prices have gone up, but that was expected. Food has improved again and we really enjoyed our lunch. We ordered 2 starters and 3 mains to share - it was all well cooked and delicious. One of our servers was miserable, rude and abrupt, but the other lady is friendly, polite and can't do enough for you. If you maintain this quality you will keep your customers. Maybe a little bit of customer service training for one of your servers - it's pretty obvious which one it is!

This is the first time we’ve ordered takeaway from here as our usual was closed. We’re so glad we did! The quality of the food was amazing and tasted fantastic. The delivery was also very quick so food was super hot. We’ve now found our new usual!

Fantastic food ordered delivery, in house driver was very friendly and cheerful. Food was absolutely amazing piping hot on delivery, very nice portions too and tasted fantastic. Defo recommend and will eat here again

Order did not arrive. When called, they repeatedly did not answer. When finally picked up the phone, claimed they needed another twenty minutes to deliver. Terrible service. I will be monitoring my cards as I do not trust them to refund prompty.

Went for a Friday evening dinner, I knew the food was great as I’d already had takeaway from here but it was my first time dining in. And to my surprise, the ambience of the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous! Quite cozy and aesthetically pleasing. I loved the decor and detail to art and lightings. I would like to mention the quick and fine service of the staff. They seem very professional at what they are doing and yes, they know their stuff real good. A 10/10 experience with Fai’s. Best Chinese Restaurant in Colchester in my Opinion. 👍🏽

Really nice restaurant. The service and restaurant are amazing and my daughters love the fish. The food is also very good and their lunch menu is such good value. Will be going back.

Always use Fai's as a takeaway and sometimes dine in and have never been disappointed. Food tastes, nice, fresh and always hot. Highly recommended to all.

The only place I go, when wanting to eat Chinese in a restaurant. Staff are friendly and accommodating.. just had my partners 30th in there.. booked back in January for a party of 30.... no deposit was required which made it so easy... food did not disappoint.

First time using Fai's Had a delivery which took a little longer than the text message said so I rang and a lovely lady apologized Ordered a set meal for two .. the food was really good, lots of it and it was hot. Would definitely order again

Good quality Chinese restaurant for a takeaway. We have ordered through Just Eat several times and the food has been good - not too greasy - and reasonably priced.

Once again another consistently good lunch. Fais certainly exceeds expectations. The lunch menu is very good value for money and the food and flavours excellent. Great selection and fairly comprehensive menu, enough for most peoples tastes. Restaurant was comfortably warm on a cold December lunchtime. Good service and, after talking to a few other diners , most of them regulars, which must say something for Fais. A good place to stop for lunch, located at the bottom of town near the railway station. Well worth a visit.

Terrible waitress terrible service food was cold not as described and a real letdown with a good choice of other Chinese restaurants I’ve yet to try it’s safe to say I’ll never set foot in there again !!!

I cannot fault the service or the food here, it was excellent. The decor is good with big palm trees & a beautiful chinese style water feature with koi carp. It's spacious but has subtle lighting. The food was really fresh & superb (I highly recommend the fish) & the menu extensive with different choices to the normal basic Chinese restaurants. The service too is excellent, our waitress was happy to recommend dishes she thought we might like (we'd mentioned that we used to live in malaysia) I Highly recommend Fai's.

Nice food and presentation, not the best quality but for the money you pay is alright, the decor is nice makes you feel like you are in China, only disappointment which I got is the customer service which you get, I haven't been asked if my food is alright, as I ordered more items from the menu I couldn't finish them and I decide to take it home, surprise when I find out that I need to pay for the takeaway boxes

Absolutely terrible service. I ordered from here on Just Eat. I was staying in a local hotel and knowing it would make it easier for the delivery driver I waited outside. I waited ages watching cars come and go but, no food delivery. I contacted the restaurant and they had said the driver turned up but, couldn’t contact me so, drove off. After a heated discussion they said the driver would come back. When he turned up I recognised the car from earlier. I had to go to the car and ask if it was my order. Abuse abuse abuse, just because I dared ask if he was going to get out the car and attempt to get out the car and maybe try asking at reception? The response I got was “ why should I?” Then proceeded to get out the car and offer to have a fight. Never again from here

Brilliant!! Food is excellent and staff are fabulous.

My partner and I rarely eat Chinese food but now I think we’re going to be eating a lot more! The food we ordered was hot and absolutely delicious. The prawn toast was full of meat, noodles were perfect and lots of prawns in the curry. Very beautiful meal. We will be back!

Best Chinese food in Colchester! I 100% recommend the vegetarian horsdouvres (made mine vegan) absolutely delicious! I also order vegan udon noodles. They always go above and beyond to make anything within reason vegan and it’s always delicious.

Have had many meals from here, mainly eat in but plenty of take-aways too, mostly I collect them. Always very enjoyable and fresh. Last night we had a delivery and it was a fresh and hot as it always is. I asked for extra pancakes in the notes as I could not see it on the menu and the restaurant very generously obliged, so extra thanks for that. We all agreed it was our favourite Chinese and will be our go to choice when we next feel like Chinese food. I also read the negative reviews and I was a bit concerned but it was all spot on. I have no hesitation in recommending and apparently I am very fussy. :)

Ordered take away, 45 minutes later than advised when the food did arrive it was cold and tasteless! Don’t waste your time or money, we would have rather of gone hungry!

Thought we would give somewhere new a try. The food arrived at the time we had booked. It was cold (I understand that delivery it isn’t always piping hot) but once reheated it was lacking in taste and bland too. The reviews differ here depending on whether you eat in or eat out. I hadn’t looked at Trip Advisor before I ordered and normally I do, so there’s a lesson in there.

We got £45.00 worth of takeaway from here. If you want microwaved chips & food that makes you sick then here’s the place for you! Me and my other half and two friends have been throwing up since eating this. It wasn’t a nice meal going down and certainly isn’t nice coming back up either. Absolutely awful! Do not listen to the good reviews as I don’t know how anyone can enjoy this food that is called “Chinese” but is nothing like it.

We had a lovely meal, the chilli and salt tempura prawn starter was divine. The staff were friendly and attentive. If we lived closer we would be regulars.

Hi, we live in Ipswich and visit Colchester frequently, one of our favourite places to visit is Fia's restaurant my wife and I love it! :) Great staff lovely surroundings and always a warm welcome, about a year ago my wife and I walked passed the restaurant and noticed how many Chinese people eat there! 'which is always a good indicator' and why we first tried. now a day out in Colchester is not compleat without a visit to Fia's! the highlight of the day. my wife is a very talented Thai chef with 30yrs experience and very fussy where and what she will eat. we tell all our friends to visit Fia;'s when in Colchester 10/10

Tremendous chicken chow mein , and large size portion , I would recommended it , wife had special chow mein and found it to be amazing. This is got to be the best in Colchester

Best Chinese in Colchester from my experience, crispy chicken balls and good chow mien. Make sure you order prawn crackers tho because it doesn’t come with your order. Very quick delivery time, tends to be quicker than what it estimates on Deliveroo

Had a lovely experience here. Nice atmosphere really well prepared cooked and presented food. Drinks were good too tried the non alcoholic cocktails. We had different noodle dishes both were very tasty and looked great too. Good value for money. Thank you.

Arrive in good time. Deep-fried prawns were excellent. Wine was good, didn't try the chicken curry...just as well as it wasn't....couldn't fine their number on line...So poor

Had a lovely meal this evening, plenty of food too much had to take some home. Very well presented and an open kitchen so you can see it being prepared.

I’ve ordered from these guys before and always been satisfied.Tonight however, my food was inedible. It took 1hr 15minutes to get here. Once here only one of the 5 dishes was edible. I ate a few prawns and some of the rice and one mouthful of Thai curry, which I had to spit out due to the rubbery inedible chicken. After spending an hour going through delivery (that’s a whole different review of bad customer service) I got offered a £3 refund....off my £30 of inedible food. As I was unsatisfied, they got the restaurant to contact me. The lady I spoke to was incredibly rude insisting that the only thing they could do was give me 20% off. Which is unsatisfactory. Threatening to send someone to get my food in order to give me a full refund after 2 and a half hours since I started this process is also unacceptable. Guess I’ll be going to bed feeling sick with a lighter wallet.

Great place to eat, very nice inside, great decor. The food was good and good value, you can look into the kitchen and watch your meal being prepared. This restarunt is very close to the town centre train station car park, parking all night just 50p and masses of space.

Normally I'm a person who sticks to what she loves food wise, however, myself and my partner thought we would try out something different one evening as Fai's was new on Deliveroo.

Post shopping dinner and once again experienced a tasty, delicious udon noodle meal. Lovely staff help to make a meal here an enjoyable experience.

Visited this lovely little town when visiting my sister in witham stopped off her for a quick takeaway . Everyone was happy enough and nothing was left so all good . Although a little pricey

Ordered a Thai red curry the worst I’ve ever had unbeatable thick red paste not even mixed in raw chicken and red hot chilli flavour an insult to Thai cooking never again! Revolting

Have been here a couple of times recently & been surprised of the quality of food - I think I had misjudged due to the area - big mistake !

I often eat here with friends and family it’s a firm favourite with great food and service The lunch special menu is a big wow.

I had been recommended to try Fais from my friends, however I will not be recommending or ordering again.

I have eaten here a few times in the past and the food has always been a good standard, not amazing but always tasty and consistent. I have ordered take away at least twice, once we paid for hot pot and after a long wait they forgot to send the noodles so it ruined our plans for the night, the second time was this week and I am basing my review on that.

Crispy duck and other dishes were delicious and my many guests were delighted with the food and the friendly atmosphere. Not my first time there and have never been disappointed.

Fai's is a good Chinese restaurant, the atmosphere is friendly and the waiting staff are attentive when you need another drink. You can see the food being prepared which I always like. The food was really nice and we would definitely go again.

Aproximadamente una vez al mes me regalo una comida de aquí, y cada vez es un lujo. Sólo descubrimos el Chili tofu, increíble, el Kung Po el pollo es el criterio que el juez un lugar, y el suyo es espectacular. Conseguir corregir errores sin ningún problema. El personal es encantador, siempre amable, y soy siempre me alegro de ir allí.

餐廳很大，侍應都懂廣東話，食品主要是廣東菜，但味道有點濃吃完會覺得口乾，收費方面亦算較貴，環境算不錯，有西餐廳的情調，食品份量很大份，但要主要二人套餐的價錢是按人頭收費的

Probamos la comida para llevar por primera vez. Yo tenía pollo chow main, crujientes de pollo al vapor carne de chili. Era cegador. No se podía comer todo como era demasiado. Pero la comida era fresca y vibrante y muy agradable. Probablemente el mejor para llevar chinease que he tenido. Voy a tener que probar el restaurante en algún momento.

Sunday evening take way ordered chicken noodles hardly any chicken in it tasted ok but nothing special ... fried rice and vegetables same taste ok but only few veg inside... the worst was the soup looks like some kind of glue ... not very nice ..., all cost 16 pounds ... not worth it... will not order soon...

Been to Fai's Noodle Bar a few times now and the food is fantastic. Every time I go to Colchester I will always pay a visit as it's great value for money. Staff are super friendly!

We ordered a takeaway, all the food was really good , probably one of the best Chinese food I have tried. Also big portions and delivered in microwavable containers. Really good, recommend the Singapur noodles with prawns, they are really tasty

Just nice food, friendly & good value. Lunchtime menu is smaller meals & cheaper. Nice & quiet atmosphere.

Ordered meal on line but order later cancelled by restaurant "due to private function". No problem being closed but should say so before taking order and money! "Free" delivery also turned out to be £1. If they can't be **** to say if they're closed then I cba to try again on a different day. Grump!

Late Sunday went shopping with my wife and called in here for a bite to eat 30 minutes before closing served us and food was delicious would recommend

It offers two for one on a Taste card , when you go to use it they come up with all kinds of reasons not to honner it ! The waitres said Cant use it as we needed to order two starters and two main meals .We ordered one stater and two main meals . So normally we would of paid for one stater and one main meal ' it seems like they wanted us to waste there money and order a stater and just leave it ! I have eaten there many times , but no more

Brilliant service from a warm friendly lady who dealt with our large party with great efficency and tact.. Great customer service :) The food came promptly and there were very little scraps left over! The food was delicious- a combination of delicate flavours complimented with just the right level of spicing seasoning. A great experience for my students some who may not have visited many reastaurants. Thank you Fais!

The last time we were here, they still had the bench seating and long tables (a bit like Wagamamas) and they had more of a "different menu" offering things like ramen. They have gone with standard tables now and taken away some of the dishes we had previously enjoyed here. It is more of a Chinese restaurant now.That being said, the food is good, it is served quickly and it is very well priced. We had a vegetarian hot & sour soup + standard hot & sour soup, and veg + standard Singapore noodles, a beer and a large bottle of water for £29, which is very reasonable.In short - a half decent restaurant, with good food and a good prices. Probably very good for groups and definitely good for quick eats, but not a destination restaurant. Unfortunately for Fais - that they still cannot top North Hill Noodle.

Attractive interior with an interesting menu. Had a decent lunch served by friendly staff. However, the reasonably priced lunch was spoilt by being charged for using a credit card. What is it with the UK and ripping customers off for using a card that involves no work at all on the part of staff? Secondly, after eating my sweet and sour pork I noticed the menu said halal meat. However, the menu did not suggest non-halal meat was available. I quite expect halal in some restaurants but in a Chinese/Japanese restaurant, I want a choice. I don't expect halal unless I specifically ask for it.

Stumbled upon this little gem while looking for something nice to eat that would grab our attention and satisfy the taste buds. First thing that we noticed was the quirky water feature and then upon entering the fun fake palm trees! Great polite service and the food was top notch. Ordered the whitebait, wonton soup and salt and pepper squid, followed by our main of mixed meat fried noodles and roast pork ribs. Mmmm tasty!! Great decision and would definitely recommend!

My friend and I ordered drinks, then food, and our food came FIRST! it was incredible. At lunch, the service is ridiculously fast and super delicious.I would recommend that the noodle bar be one of your first food stops in Colchester.

We have visited this restaurant several times and their lunchtime menu is very good, the food and service is very good. The evening menu is different and equally very nice.

Service is brilliant, the staff are funny and friendly. I also loved the food, it's definitely the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.

So I always eat in when I'm in Colchester and always been lovely so I came to my sisters and decided to order take away and yet again was NOT disappointed food was very hot and very yummy and wasn't a long wait at all only half hour :) will definitely order again for a takeaway and always tell friends how yummy it was :)

We decided to try a different Chinese for a takeaway as we had not had me for months. We decided on trying Fai's. The food arrived quickly but my concerns started when my duck was packaged in a dinner kebab yellow takeaway tray and the sweet and sour chicken in a fried chicken box, not the usual packaging you'd expect. I ate the duck first and it was average at best but edible unlike the sweet and sour chicken. I ate one and hated it, I then tried peeling off the so called batter which was more like dumpling but the quality of the chicken inside was also poor. I then left most of that dish. I will never eat from Fai's again.

Visited twice, both at lunchtime and been thoroughly impressed each time. Good service (although it's been quiet both times). Lovely food, which is a cut above the average Chinese, being a mix of Chinese, Thai and Japanese. Very good value very much worth a visit

First taken here by my partner along time ago since then everytime we are in town. Then food is fresh, tasty and always well presented. All the staff are really friendly. Doesn't look like much from outside but trust me if you like fresh food Give it a try.
