Mcdonalds in Colchester

Great for fast meals and it's kind of your average McDonald's, so quality isn't great but it's cheap and tasty. Quite a lot of seating inside, however do not reccomend going for lunch on weekdays as it will be packed with students. Staff are really friendly, and it is surprisingly quite clean.

Absolute DISGRACE! NOTHING was available on the menu so I had to take my daughter elsewhere. CLOSE YOUR RESTAURANT!!!

Being a waitress myself, I am aware that 50% of the time, working in the hospitality industry can be stressful and challenging. McDonald’s is one of my preferred fast food restaurants there is! however the last couple of times i've been there or ordered online there has continually been some form of trouble with my meals, whether that’s the food being stone cold or items been missed i've never complained. However I just wanted to point out that it takes much less than minutes to change the syrup on the Coke.

Came in at around 8, sign said open until 11 but they were closing down seating area (if you can even call it that). Took our food and sat on a park bench, everything was cold. Fries were cold and no salt or condiments, burgers looked like they hadn’t even been warmed, cheese had never felt anything warmer than the fridge, salad was so small you needed a magnifying glass to see it. Absolutely disgusting, only upside is you don’t need to look for other food because you feel sick afterwards.

Thought I would pop in for a burger there was 20 staff all standing around talking . No one actually working or even knows what there doing I had to keep asking is my food ready etc 20 minutes went by and my food was ready but was just left on the side cold why didn’t someone bring it over ? Absolutly ridiculous. Will never ever step foot in this McDonald’s again .

Awful stale bread which crumbled into pieces. Fish hard and overcooked. They are spending too much time on getting delivery orders out. Had to wait too long for it to end up in the bin. Totally inedible.

My friend hurt her ankle on a night out most Mcdonalds bouncers etc. were not very sympathetic and just wanted us out the way. Your employee Grace (with black hair and glasses) spontaneously came over and offered support and Ice. Thanks for your help Grace :)

Visited here on Friday with my grandchildren the food was the worst McDonald’s meals I’ve ever purchased chips and burgers were cold and completely tasteless even my coffee was luke warm had to wait ages for food hardly any staff other than those behind the counter dreadful !

You know that this is a fine establishment when on a Friday or Saturday night you are greeted by bouncers on the doors. If you like average fast food, this is the stop for you.

Went to McDonald's high street yesterday.. I had a mc chicken sandwich meal. And I was up all night being sick and had loose bowels.. Was shivering all night and now my stomach is hurting ..

Came here Saturday for dinner, service was good and waiting time was about five mins, came again for breakfast and the wait was over fifteen mins, was very busy.Seating downstairs and upstairs is nice, comfy and clean. One of the better McDonald’s I have been into and food was decent.

It is quite good for what it is (a fast food restaurant). I enjoyed the Big Mac. It was good in general.

Very slow service but food was good when it managed to arrive. Got what I ordered but no sauces for the kids nugget meals.

So myself and my boss visited here for a quick brake in the evening. We walked in to find the upstairs seating closed and the downstairs seating had left over meals on the tables while 5 members of staff are standing relaxing and talking. With minimum wage going up would think a big company would be getting their money's worth out of the staff.

Service was quick, food was ok but could have been hotter. Seating is not good in this Mcdonalds, hardly any on ground level, stairs to first floor are not easy to climb, each step is quite high for anyone with mobility problems and definitely not accessible for anyone with a pushchair. Perhaps time for a rethink and refurb Mcdonalds!

usual mcdonalds service . now using the self ordering screens , quick service . not much seating available .

.... why do they cook enough chips to feed a coach load and the chips are left to go cold and soggy. The Manager (was wearing a white shirt) tried to give me cold chips, I refused to take them, he wasn't happy, but I got freshly cooked ones

Like most McDonalds' restaurants, this one is very accessible to disabled people. There is no step at the entrance, the touch-screen ordering system has an option to lower the UI to the bottom of the display so that it can be reached by wheelchair users, there is a disabled toilet, there are wheelchair-accessible seats near the front and the staff are extremely helpful; offering to get sauce and straws for those who cannot reach.

Warm soggy food. Disgusting. Not the first time this has happened in this branch. Never will visit this McDonald’s again. They are supposed to dispose of food after a certain time, this branch does not.

Service good,poor seating downstairs,Soggy and lukewarm burgers. They appear to be only catering for youngsters. Have been to chingford branch which is brilliant. Fresh and hot food.

Very badly designed. Hardly any seating downstairs. Then 2 flights of stairs to a large seating area upstairs. We came for lunch. It was very busy. With mobility problems I cannot access stairs and we had a pushchair with 2 young children. Luckily a family was leaving and we had a table. BUT it was next to the ordering machines, so people were constantly pushing against us. And where do you park the pushchair? Staff were friendly. Food hot. But will not return. Definately NOT child or disabled friendly.

OK, there's no easy way of writing a positive review about a fast food chain. But why not trying? Like in 75% (to say a number) of McD you get the product you expect, the taste you know, etc. Unlike the drive-in McD in Colchester, in this one they don;t mess with your order (not in our experience and we've been a few times). Some staff have been there for at least 3 years, and that gives some continuity and friendly known faces.

What you expect from a fast food restaurant with cheap food and a wide variaty. Downstairs now has tablets in the table to keep the kids entertained while waiting

My mum is disabled so we cannot go up the stairs to find a seat, so we sometimes have to walk past here and find somewhere else to eat, or brave it and wait for seats to become free. It is quite annoying, and maybe there should be assigned tables for those who are disabled. I can't say it's always clean as some mothers don't clean up after their toddlers, which is rude, but I do see staff cleaning when they can. But the good news! Fab tasting food, no different than any other McDonalds and when we can sit somewhere clean we enjoy the experience, although turn the radio up haha!

Had a very nice lunch with a Banana Milk Shake at MacDonalds in High Street Colchester, its just a pity they do not have an outdoor area.

I visit here every Saturday. The place is too small and is not big enough for the demand that Colchester brings in the town centre.

The staff at this Mcdonald's were great the lady clearing the tables stopped what she was doing and carried the tray upstairs for me when asked of help once I was sat down she checked I didn't need anything else before returning to her job.

One man carrying a tray and using a walking stick needing to go up stairs as no seats available downstairs what could possibly go wrong?? Enter a lovely lady who was wiping the trays as soon as asked if she could help she stopped what was doing and carried the tray up stairs for me and made sure I didn't need anything else before returning to what she was doing
