On the sporadic occasion when you require it, she fails you. Pretty sure I’ve paid at least twice for nothing. Clearly they don’t want any business, close your doors and go away like you’ve done on most high streets and stop wasting our time.
My partner and I crossed wires, we both booked a table at the restaurant for Valentine's day!
When we arrived the hostess didn't even greet us or look us in the eye, we tried to explain the mix up just to be told they would have to charge us a cancellation fee for the other table and add it to our bill... despite the restaurant being barely half full that night.
My partner had booked the premium table and paid £30 in advance - add that to the cancellation fee of £30 they just told us they would charge and we're already £60 down for nothing...
The hostess didn't know where to sit us! She seemed confused and just dumped us on a table. We were just seated on a table for 4... nothing special about it at all - complete con for £30 'Premium' table (which is not even deducted off your bill, by the way).
It took a while for someone to take our drinks order. Then it took another long while for someone to take our food order. When we asked for the set menu, we were told it was not available. So we then needed more time to pick other dishes. Attempt number 2, the first dish we asked for we were told was also not available! Guests should be told when they are seated if something is not available to them on the menu - such a waste of time.
As sushi does, it comes out whenever it's ready in the kitchen. We had order lots of small plates and the waiting staff would come over, hover over us waiting for my partner and I to move all the plates around on the table to make room while we were trying to eat - so unprofessional.
When I asked the waiter what one of the dishes was, he looked confused, nervous and said "umm, I don't know, it's X I think" gave a small laugh and walked away.
The sushi was OK, but the pork belly bites were hard and BURNT.
The long waits and average food could be forgiven if the service was outstanding. But the staff are in desperate need of training, confidence and personable skills with guests. It's such a shame. It's a lovely venue and used to be great.
About my 5th takeaway from here this year. Again the food was perfect and delivered in a reasonable time. I requested they swapped a rice on the set meal for noodles and they did so without charge. Thanks

There is nothing redeeming about this chicken establishment which inhabits the dark voids that exist between time and space where you may or may not possibly eat something resembling tasty or of any real value. The wings are one of the worst in Chelmsford and are at the same / similarly priced as premium brands (KFC Wingstop, Popeyes) if you are not absolutely battered at 12-2am and there is literally no alternative available to fill your yearning booze ridden stomach then eat here, otherwise avoid like herpes. I only give 1 star as the peri mayo is passable.
I had cod and chips curry sauce it was £13.10. The fish was terrible. I took the batter off the top of the fish and there wasn’t hardly any fish inside and the bottom of the batter was like rock cake. I will never ever go there again and I have pictures to prove it I reckon in six months Debbie shot, because people won’t stand or pay that sort of money for rubbish meal
OK food, quality was reasonable, but the cost is way to much! The price of chips is ridiculous especially for the amount you get. Portions are miniature.
I seriously won;t be back , its worth driving elsewhere, irrespective of travel costs just to ensure you get better value for money! They should value their customers and not rob them!

We were staying in the hotel and this was the night of the Queen's funeral so we decided to 'eat in'. They only had one chef in the kitchen so it took a long time for our meals to appear. They did warn us when we sat down but it would have been nice to be told when we booked the table when we checked in. Food was nothing special but nothing to complain about either.
We had a most enjoyable lunch here. There was plenty of choice on the menu. The food was well cooked and arrived promptly. The portions were generous too. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Could not ask for any more.
Not been for a few years, nothing had changed, perfect sunshine midweek, food was great, not cheap but nowhere is cheap anymore, nice sandwich, chicken wings where nice and the fries/onion rings spot on, £35 for a light lunch, pricey, but if it’s all lovely and fresh made then it’s ok for the price, ( but the mayonnaise is terrible, must be the cheapest one in the cash and carry) good service.
5/5
Arrived und went upstairs to use that order board only to find although there's plenty of oder flags. It won't let me use the table service function so walk back down to wait for my food I'm number 001, gets to order 003 I ask where mine is she just walked out back for a moment then gave me the food with no apology in fact no works at all.
So I then walk back up the stairs to find no BBQ sauce in the dispenser. A member of staff issues nearby so I mention it's empty. He then proceeds to start looking to replenish it. I said could you not go get some from downstairs so I'm not going to have to leave my food and go back down while my food is getting cold. He just looks and smiles as if he doesn't understand what I'm saying. Do down I go again! Had to go into the kitchen to ask for some while explaining I've had to go up and down the stairs because of these issues that could easily be avoided. And guess what both women look as me and smile as if they don't speak the same language.
Go back to my door and the cheese bite were cold.
I would say shocking service but it was actually no service at all
