Churchill's Fish & Chips South Woodham Ferrers in Chelmsford

OK food, quality was reasonable, but the cost is way to much! The price of chips is ridiculous especially for the amount you get. Portions are miniature. I seriously won;t be back , its worth driving elsewhere, irrespective of travel costs just to ensure you get better value for money! They should value their customers and not rob them! .

Service was OK. The quality and flavour of the chips was OK, although they did look a lot like fries (!), they were soft like chips. The big problem was the portion size, see photo. To charge £3.35 for that TINY portion of chips does not encourage repeat trade. My flying field will soon be moving very near to there, so I would have been a regular customer, but not to be ripped off every time I go in the shop, and still go away peckish!

If you like fish & chips then this is the place for you, their fish is freshly cooked in a light golden batter & accompanied with their lovely chips make a very good meal & all for a reasonable price.

Prices for takeaway fish and chips here have increased considerably . When I visited there were staff standing around with nobody bothering to take my order straight away. Just under £22 for two lots of cod and chips is not cheap.

Although the portion size of chips was good the actual taste was bland. The fish were of better quality and of a decent size. The cost was above average.
