Fish Shack in Chelmsford

I had cod and chips curry sauce it was £13.10. The fish was terrible. I took the batter off the top of the fish and there wasn’t hardly any fish inside and the bottom of the batter was like rock cake. I will never ever go there again and I have pictures to prove it I reckon in six months Debbie shot, because people won’t stand or pay that sort of money for rubbish meal

The cod and chips were perfectly cooked and delicious. Hubby had the battered sausage and my son had the chicken nuggets and they were very good.

Closed! Checked Google. It said business hours verified 4 weeks ago. Was supposed to be open until 9pm but was in darkness and locked up at 8.10pm. Shame.

First the good points, nice touch of tartar sauce and wedge of lemon with the fish and chips, the best bit of the meal. Second the bad points, chips were overcooked, (possibly yesterday’s recooked chips), and undercooked cod, the batter was bland and the fish tasteless. This was possibly the worst cod and chips I’ve ever tasted, we had to throw most of it away. It wasn’t cheap either, over £18 for cod and chips x 2.

I live closer to other chip shops but this is my go to. Spot on every time. Five star. Deserving of 5*
