Just been there last night. Nice and helpful staff. The decoration was gorgeous accompanied by ambient music. The service was fast, the food was fantastic and very well presented. The atmosphere was salubrious to enjoy our meal. It made our day. Would definitely come back!

We were so disappointed by our visit to Zinnia the service was very poor and the food not quite as expected. It took ages to be seated, ages for a drink order to be taken and then to come, staff couldn’t understand simple requests and the sushi we ordered we sent back because of the lack of any crab in the middle. They also then put through a transaction on my card once I had paid the bill without my permission using the card confirmation I used when booking the table. Unfortunately we won’t hurry back.

What a beautiful restaurant with the most beautiful food and the best cocktail I've ever had! Amazing atmosphere and very attentive polite staff. I'll be back and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Zinnia x

The decor is lovely and the cocktails are delicious. We had the six course tasting menu but were really disappointed as it was expensive and the food was lacking in flavour and seasoning. Some dishes had hardly any taste at all. We did appreciate the congratulations plate we were given at the end and the pistachio cake was tasty. We won’t be going back as can get far better pan Asian food elsewhere, this place is definitely style over substance.

Highly recommend you avoid this place ! Came here with my partner for a date night, started of the night slow by not asking if we wanted a drink for 15 minutes to then waiting 10 minutes between staters delivered, it wasn’t a great start but it was what it was, We didn’t get asked if we would like another drink all night to having mains delivered and waiting again for sides, by this time it was pointless as mains where nearly finished. The worst part is after they cleared the table the waiter spilt soy sauce all over my partner, over her coat, her bag, herself, the table and the floor! He then said ‘sorry here’s a napkin’, leaving her to clean for herself, we sat there gob smacked, the manager didn’t even know what happened, when explained he’s response was, ok sorry, For the sake of other people eating there meals I didn’t want to make a scene so I stayed calm but my partner was absolutely livid how this situation was handled, and wanted to leave asap, I asked for service charge to be removed from the bill at a minimum and no offer or any incentive from what happened was offered to us, even a ‘drink’ or ‘free starter’ would of been nice, Please for the price of the food here you would expect half decent customer service, don’t take the risk. I’ve heard about the awful service from other people but I tend to judge how I find! The hard way unfortunately.

Booked a table for 10pm for NYE. Sat down and ordered drinks and couple of plates. Asked to order mains only to be told the kitchen is closed! Should have been advised this when booking or at least upon arrival/seated. Left hungry and disappointed. Why take bookings if the kitchen is closing imminently.

Great food. Went for my birthday with friends however very disappointed they have removed the best item on the menu, the prawn toast. Mainly go for prawn toast. Bring it back please

We visited here yesterday evening for what I thought was our anniversary dinner. However, my partner got down on one knee and proposed! The staff videoed it and sent it to me after and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you so much for capturing such a special moment ❤️ To add to that the food is absolutely incredible and we’ll be back time and time again to eat.

This is an outstanding restaurant with fantastic food, drinks and service. There is a wide variety of food and good vegetarian options, which pleased our daughter. We highly recommend the Bento boxes, which provide variants of different foods and a great way to try alternative items on the menu. An extensive cocktail menu and outstanding festive cocktails, perfect with the Christmas-themed restaurant. The service was fantastic, and our waiter, Garth, was helpful throughout our stay and table never short of drinks. 100% planning our next visit to Zinnia very soon.

Had an amazing meal last night at Zinnia, the food was incredible and highly recommend the Dragon Roll. We had a couple of waiters but the main one was Mansi who was absolutely fantastic and made our experience great. She was so attentive to us and made sure we were ok throughout our whole meal. Really enjoyable experience, staff were extremely attentive and did not in anyway rush us. Food was delicious and comparable to many London restaurants. The Crab Sushi was the best sushi I’ve ever had. Will be back!

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends. This restaurant divided opinion amongst us. The food was pretty good, but the service was quite slow at times, particularly for drinks orders. The menu has a big variety of dishes, but it wasn't really clear what was a sharing dish, versus a single dish for an individual to eat. As a result, we had some dishes arrived which weren't designed for sharing, as well as some rice and noodles which arrived without an accompanying main course, meaning they were cold by the time we needed them. I thought it wasn't great value for money, particularly the drinks which we felt were expensive. On a more positive note, the DJ and general ambiance were really good. Not sure if I'd return though, there's better options in Chelmsford for a group get together
