Fast and tasty food for a great price. Great place to go for quickly, easy sit-in lunch.

We had a really nice time here at itsu. To be honest we had never heard of them and saw the place opposite the shops at the right time (i.e. When we were hungry!) So we went in and ordered some food through the electronic boards tbh I would have liked to have been able to browse the menu at the table but this is how it goes in modern times... The food came very quickly and it was delicious and very good value for money. The last who served us was lovely and recommended food. We had the chicken teriyaki and chicken salad and then the little chocolate ganache for dessert. It came all in at around twenty pounds for the two of us. Neither of us drink so we had two water which they were happy to provide. All in all an excellent experience and we can't wait to come back to sample since other delicacies.

Clean restaurant, tasty food served in cardboard. Could have got the equivalent in Tesco and added hot water. Won’t be back. If only the toilets were as clean or as well equipped as the restaurant.

Came here for a quick lunch break. The restaurant is perfectly located accessible with plenty of parking. Ordering was easy through the touchscreen terminals. Nice environment and really friend staff. Food was served quickly and tasted great.

Great place, lots of choice easy ordering on machines, quick service, funky music and really clean. Service with a smile. It’s a nice change to find somewhere like this especially as it’s good value as well.

Went for lunch here yesterday lots of parking food was great and very quick looks lovely inside however was very noisy loud music and people screaming/singing coming from the kitchen no sign of any management

This was my first visit to an Itsu ( Chelmsford Village) although i love Asian food i need to be careful on certain foods. while checking out the food options on the self service boards, one of the staff members came up to see if we needed help. After explaining my requirements she was really helpful in pointing out the best food options for me. and suggested to let them know after ordering any food options leave out or request to be served in a separate bowl. so having the katsu chicken udon noodles with extra chicken and egg with the veg in separate bowl so i could take some and share the rest with fellow diner, and their shui order. The food was absolutely delicious and well prepared and would be back again when in the area or other Itsu diners. The member of staff who helped did go above and beyond , making a great experience.

Outside food is overpriced everywhere these days, so this place is not an exception. Toilets were cleaned and lots of parking outside the restaurant. Choice of food is limited as well not a lot to choose from.

Good food, a little expensive for some items. Drinks are very overpriced (£2 for a 330ml can.) Nice atmosphere, slightly strange music! Good service.

I ordered the sushi 'dragon platter for delivery. It advertised 2 Nagano Valley miso soups as part of the platter. It arrived not with soups but 2 sachets of soup base. They looked like the sachets from a pot noodle. I'm supposed to make the soup myself!!??. This restaurant gives a whole new meaning to takeaway food. Why didn't they go the whole hog and deliver me a couple of fish and a packet of rice to make my own sushi

Clean, comfortable with lots of choice. The food came within a minute and was tasty, my wife had sushi and I had double chicken, both tasty. Top value.

Katsu isn't breaded as it should and curry sauce aren't taste like Japanese golden curry. Nice and friendly staff tho.

The gyoza were nice but I enjoyed the veggie sushi collection more it was very good I would recommend it! As for the Mochi they were absolutely delicious, LOVED them!

You can have any Sushi you want as long as it’s Salmon! Surprised I had to explain to the Manager that the Miso sachets which come with some of the larger sets aren’t actually a dipping sauce! The confusion when I asked for a cup of hot water would be hilarious had I not just spent £30 Obviously this isn’t anything close to being real sushi. Most of it is pre-made & only available by using the touch pads at the front of the store.

Pre-cooked food, good quality one, but...I was expecting other thing to be honest. The service was really good.

The food is not fresh, they come in like on a takeaway plastic plates like you find in a store and they must be heated in a microwave everything is already cooked our food was ready in less then 5 minutes , the salmonfrom the sushi didn'teven taste of anything... the place is rated 4 stars but it doesn't deserve even one, sorry for this honest review

Ordered and paid on Just Eat. No drivers available. Manager at Itsu Chelmsford made it all work so we got to collect our order and bonus food delivered. Creative and generous solution to a problem. Great food, superb service. Well done Itsu! :)

Healthy fast food. Good value my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. Quick service and the food was fresh and tasty.

Had the eat in experience at this Itsu for a change. Great food as always but this time in a proper bowl!

We had lunch here and tried a large sharing platter. The sushi itself wasn’t bad at all, though it was obvious from the inclusion of miso soup sachets that the platter is really set up for takeaway. For eating in the restaurant (which was comfortable and clean) they might have enhanced our experience by offering bowls and hot water for the miso. We will go back again for lunch but will probably order less sushi ( without the edamame bean pods, because removing the beans isn’t easy) and supplement this with a noodle bowl.

If mcdonalds did japanese food, this would be it. Sushi sat in boxes all day, fish becoming transparent. Udon noodle dish sat there all day and reheated in the microwave!! Steamed buns filled with processed meat. The opposite of fresh.

This is the 4th time I have been here with members of my family. The first two visits the portions were good value. The third time the portion size had definitely gotten smaller. Went there again tonight and I was presented with less than half a bowl. When I questioned a member of staff I was told that was the amount I was due. Certainly didn't look anything like the picture on the screen I ordered from. Even my daughter remarked that even her portion had decreased and she gets the same thing on every visit. Unfortunately this has left a bitter taste and we won't be going back again. Which saddens me as I like the taste of their food. I would recommend going to your local supermarket, find on the shelf what you want buying 2 pots of it and add your own hot water. Much cheaper and you would get a larger serving. 😪😪

Maybe it's a personal thing, you order at a touch screen and collect food from the counter when ready. This is ok in some fast food establishments but I don't think it suits here. The food was nice but for price would just rather a proper restaurant experience. Unlikely to go back in hurry.

Healthy, reasonably priced, Asian fast food. As becoming common practice, orders taken by machine, which makes the process faster.

The promise of the menu does not live up to the delivery of product. Chicken looked like it came out of a packet and was tiny pieces compared to the image. Wife had prawns dumplings and it looked like there was a millimetre of prawn inside with the rest stuffed with rice. Flavours are ok but disappointing experience overall.

Rather like an upmarket Japanese/Asian McDonald's with the same self service order screens and wait for collection but with expensive bottled beer available. Outstanding cheerful and very helpful front of house staff, generally only one or two serving but very willing to bring your order to a table if eating in and a longer wait than usual for preparation. Expensive (but it is Sushi etc) but very good quality even though I presume it is factory prepared and bulk delivered compared to a highly trained sushi chef working in the kitchen. Good for an occasional treat or special occasion.

Ordered through Deliveroo, fast and good service. Got the health and happiness set , sushi was fresh and tasty. Miso soup was warm and satisfying. They give you small pack of wasabi and soy sauce, but no chopsticks were given :(((

Easy to use ordering screen, we thought it was collection but the staff insisted on bringing our hot food over for us when it was ready. It added a really nice touch! He even came back over to check everything was okay. Lovely service and great food, perfect little stop for lunch.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I chose something on the menu that, as described on the board, looked nice. I therefore bought a 6 piece version and a larger version with an avocado piece on top. I tried the smaller portion and was greeted by a taste of MINT, not in any description and double checked afterwards. I went up to the till and asked if I could exchange the unopened bigger selection because I’m allergic to mint. I was told no. Not having specific ingredients listed is DANGEROUS and then, not even offering a refund is ludicrous. I could have had a life threatening reaction had I not had my epi-pen. I have been to many sushi places and never experienced mint in anything I have bought. I was disgusted by the managers opinion that frankly it was tough! I shall not be back and will be telling my friends and family to avoid the place too

Decent experience, easy to order using the machines as you walk in, restaurant was clean, staff were friendly. Food was ready quickly. Chilli chicken noodles were lovely, the coconut rice pot not so much. Would definitely come back. Pretty reasonable too.

Really beautiful restaurant on the Chelmer Village shopping park. Very quick preparation and both the sushi and hot food we had was deliciously fresh. Definitely coming back for dinner soon!

Awful. No one greeted us at the door, had to seat ourselves and get the highchair myself. No menus on the table and no help from the staff. Have to order it yourself using the kiosk, I had no idea about the food and portion sizes etc as no one was there to help. Really disappointed with the lack of service so we left. Won't be back. Improve your customer service Itsu - it wasn't even busy which is even more worrying

I have been there couple times now and every time me and my family we were having a great experience. We totally love how clean is the restaurant, easy to order( touch screen self service) and the taste of food. We love especially the noodles, the rice , the sushi…ooo basically everything 😁. All the staff there are really friendly and Paul (I think he’s the manager) seems to be really helpful and enthusiastic. Keep doing what you are doing guys and see you soon!

Really quick and convenient ordering system in the screens. Decent children's menu, our fussy eaters loved the Thai curry hot bowl from children's menu. Really helpful staff and friendly staff,fast service and tasty.

Been a couple of times now, weekday lunchtimes. Never too busy which in my view is a good thing. The electronic menus work like McDonald's, making ordering very easy. The female server who served us on both occasions was very friendly and personable. The staff seem enthusiastic and happy to work there. The food is served quickly and hot. A large number of condiments are available on all the tables.

Fair price, Not an authentic taste. Good presentation, service was fast, clean environment. Overall, it is a taste for westerners, not for Asian, not even Japanese.

Disaster, this place should change name to Shitsu . Budget supermarkets sell better tasting food, actually some food didn’t even taste like food but like chemicals:(((

My new favourite fast food restaurant. So happy to finally have fast food that is healthy and makes me feel good rather then the other rubbish chains that are out there. Itsu have totally transformed this little restaurant and recycled nearly everything from the previous owner. Hats off Itsu!

The most expensive pot noodle I have ever had. Service is a similar to Argos experience albeit with John Lewis price tag.

Yesterday evening Essex Search and Rescue were called to search for a high-risk person in Chelmsford. We chose the Chelmer Village Retail Park as our RV point before commencing a night search. After a gruelling but successful search, we returned to our command vehicle to find a large bag of wonderful sushi, curtesy of the management and staff at itsu. Opening a new business is hard work, but the management and staff at itsu Chelmsford still found the time to provide a random act of kindness, which was gratefully received by all our Search Technicians as well as Essex Police. By the way… the food was fantastic…

We thought the food was great and sat in the sunshine eating. So nice to have a healthy option finally...BUT don't enjoy a leisurely eat too much here as we ended up getting a £60 parking fine for taking too long to have a decent lunch. Apparently this location wants to atract you to spend money in the shops and have lunch whilst you're there but won't give you enough time to do anything like that. No-one I know has seen the 'well-displayed' parking fine signs. unfortunately..AVOID!

It's a cool set up, order from screens and pick up when ready, Sushi and Dumplings as good as ever. Katsu sauce not so good. Will try again.

We visited the 2nd time! The screens are not working properly. We had flies in our drink at the first time, but this time the place is out of stock of souos. Shockingly expensive £30 for 2 boxes of sushi's and two drinks.

Great food, Great atmosphere Have absolutely no negatives! Love the way you have to order, it's convenient and easy to use, especially if you need to add extras, customise etc. Food was delicious! Vast range of options both for meat and veg lovers. I can not recommend this establishment enough. Will definitely be visiting again.

Food is good. For the price? Could be better. Charges a lot more just to sit inside and eat. I noticed this Itsu didn’t sell the Salmon superfood salad which is one of my go to menu items at other stores in London which is a shame. Menu is a little limited for choice but the food does arrive very quickly.

I got the vegetable sushi platter, the Korean udon noodles (v), and mango mochi and chocolate mochi. The food was great; tasted fresh and flavoursome and was quick. I liked that you ordered on a machine (like maccies or KFC) - it meant I wasn't rushed or pressured to order but the food came quickly when ordered. Was busy but didn't seem so as it wasn't overcrowded and service was fast. ps. I did accidentally get given the meat version but they were very polite and changed it quickly and without a hassle

Went during the bank holiday so it was very busy. Still the food was very good! I would definitely recommend the clean katsu bowl, has rice, lots of greens, nice marinated chicken and a good amount of sauce. Wish there was more space between the door and the order screens, but that's not the fault of the employees there

Rude manger and didn’t care about the customer service not a very good experience let alone it’s a very new place me and two off my friends went in for the first time and had one bite and made us feel sick won’t be coming back again

Went in and first of all was quite shocked at how to order, didn’t expect to go in and have to do it on a screen like at McDonald’s. Got our food and took one bite and the chicken was rubbery and then ain’t the rice which was so hard and gritty, was not nice to eat at all. When me and my friend went up to ask for a refund, a man who I’m assuming the manager said I don’t want to give you a refund id prefer you retry the food and give it another go, we once again said no and asked for a refund, he then again tried to make us try the food once more and we still didn’t want to, he then after a few times of trying to make eat the food gave us the refund. He didn’t seem interested in the fact we weren’t happy. Not good customer service at all, wouldn’t go here ever again and also would not recommend. Food is overpriced for what you get, expected better to be honest.

A slight let down, for the price you pay you get a McDonalds style environment and mediocre sushi. The staff were polite however I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Poor website cannot order for takeaway and despite being less than half a mile away from store no delivery available unless through deliver roo. Feels like it is forcing you to use their preferred supplier who increase the cost and charge for delivery. To top it off apparently they do not even have a phone line in store to place take out orders. Better off going to one of the many other non chain sushi restaurants that don't try to rip you off and are contactable by phone.

The male staff who seemed like a store manager was rude. Missing the order. Rude customer service. Not going back.
