By far the best food in Chelmsford! Run by thoroughly lovely people too.

We got a takeaway and it was delicious. The staff were so friendly and reasonably priced. Will be returning next takeaway night 🤗

driver was late. tried to cancel and pick up the food myself but it didnt let me and ended up having to go back and forth from my house to the place back to my house. pretty bad

Absolute gem of a place! Small but a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was 10/10, I had a katsu chicken burger and it was so tasty I literally couldn’t fault it. They have their own beer too which went down a treat. We will be back!

The chicken was too fired nearly burnt so I requested the blond lady to replace it and she was so rude. Old blond lady stay away from here and the chief is not looking after the hygiene. Check for your self before making an order . Dirty kitchen

Staff were super friendly, good selection of drinks (the ROK Lager was particularly nice), excellent food. There's also some cool little games on the tables to play

First time here after missing South Korea, so glad I did. Warm welcome and inclusive vibes. Had a very tasty Korean fried chicken rice bowl and the homemade kimchi was delicious. Had an enjoyable conversation with the owner too about their inspiration for the restaurant and was even treated to a shot of Soju at the end of my visit. Would highly recommend and will be coming back for sure!

Lovely little place doing korean street food. Food cooked fresh so worth waiting for. My wife loves the tofu rice dish whilst I love the chicken dishes...and the chips 😄 (make sure you have their homemade kimchi 😉) not tried all the dishes yet but so far so good 😋

My new favourite food place in Chelmsford! Called in for lunch and it was one of the best burgers I've had, the staff are also lovely and it had a nice chilled atmosphere. Will definitely be back again soon

I had Rok's chicken at their stall on Leather Lane market and it is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. Their Angry Rok sauce is absolutely delicious. Incredibly friendly team as well. 10/10

My partner and I just enjoyed a meal here; the food, the service and the atmosphere were all great! We both had the ROK burger with chips which was amazing. We will definitely be returning again.

Love that there are veg options!

Chicken had pieces of bones inside. Cabbage salad was tasteless. Took rice bowl and rice were over cooked more like pudding. Didn’t understand where all this reviews come from and what I paid for. Absolute disappointment.

They have a food stall near Holborn, central London and a friend and I decided to have a burger, with the chips, it was a bit pricy considering takeaway, the burger wasn't anything special. Unfortunately, they double charged me after saying it did not go through the first time. Silly me I trusted their word and didn't see or confirm, so they tapped again. I contacted them a few weeks later as the transaction pending turned to confirmed, they said they'll refund but did not. Waste of time. Had to get my bank involved. Poor customer service. If you doubt that I'm not telling the truth, next time print the receipt and give it to your customer and you can see it with your own eyes.

We love Rok Kitchen. Owners are front of house and chef, bringing their passion for Korean cuisine to Chelmsford! They are so friendly and chatty, and cannot help you enough. It’s a perfect little spot for dinner and a couple of drinks. They spotted we were vegan and veganised the chips which was really kind of them. Would love to see more vegan options, but the tofu rice bowl is delicious… love the homemade kimchi. Thank you for a great experience - we will continue to be regular customers

Great experience for the first time at ROK kitchen. The staff was very friendly and guided us through the menu. Ordered chilly burger and Short Rib of beef rice....delicious. We will come back!

Wasn't sure what to have for dinner tonight and popped in on a whim. What stood out when I walked in was that every person in there looked happy and were clearly enjoying their dining experience. The food all looked amazing too. Whilst the restaurant is small, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. I worried I wouldn't be able to grab a quick takeaway as it was full but i was greeted warmly and the owner was happy for me to wait in my car and brought my order out when it was ready. I ordered the ROK sweet chilli burger and when I got home my take away looked just as good as what was being served in the restaurant and the FLAVOUR! I mean wow! This burger was full of it and the side of fries were fresh and crisp and having now finished I can say I will definitely be returning. Long review I know but I really wanted to get across just how great this little gem of a place is. You have to make sure you visit.

This little restaurant/takeaway is one of the best finds I have come across. The food is fresh, vibrant and so very tasty. I would add a picture but it never lasts long enough to get my phone out. The rice bowls, sweet chilli chicken and beef short rib are to die for and the Korean crispy chicken wings are out of this world, crispy and the dressings are punchy with just the right amount of sauce so they don't become soggy. If you like things a little hotter you really must try the home made Kimchi.I really can't recommend Rok Kitchen enough I really hope this restaurant is here for many years to come 😁😁 Great example of an up and coming independent business+ the staff are attentive and helpful 😎😎

Didn’t even get a chance to take a photo before the food was devoured. But here’s the aftermath. 10/10 for flavour. Hot sauce is a must (especially if you like a bit of heat). I would definitely recommend to a friend to go here. Simple and effective menu and worth the money. Will come again :)

This restaurant is just awesome. Never ever had a bad dish from them, whether it's take away or dine in. Sweet Chili Korean Wings are absolutely the best wings you'll ever have.

Lovely food, lovely people. Popped in last night at 21.35 asking if I could grab a takeaway, they stop serving at 21.30 but were happy to cook for me. So kind. The food was delicious, amazing chicken wings and burger. The owners were so friendly, I'm not surprised they have a successful business and I wish them all the best.

Visited Rok Kitchen in Chelmsford last night with friends. Korean street food that was absolutely delicious! Eating out when I need to be gluten free and with a husband who is allergic to eggs is often challenging and very limited! I felt so at ease with all the information shared, care and attention! It was an absolute pleasure! I am super sensitive and had no issues 😍 I had every dishes ingredient explained, super careful about cross contamination. Many of the sauces were suitable for me to eat, the Katsu and Angry Chicken wings were divine and the Katsu fries absolutely gorgeous! My husband had a more limited egg free choice but the Bruschetta, ribs and short rib rice salad were delicious. They offered to make egg free chicken if we give them notice of our next visit. Brilliant playlist and a great atmosphere! Highly recommended for a visit, they are a brilliant family run business in Moulsham Street.

I go to Rok Kitchen at least once a week for lunch the food is consistently delicious every single time the staff are wonderful. If you go in the evening it’s a different vibe there’s a nice buzz I love it here!

Have previously tried their food in the beer garden at The UB and am currently waiting for a (very delayed) Uber Eats delivery. Whilst the delay is no fault of ROK Kitchen, as I was waiting I decided to look at their website. To my disappointment, in tiny text at the bottom right of their menu, it says all of their chicken is Halal. Although it is good they highlight this (which many takeways do not), unfortunately it means I will not be a returning customer. I consider animal welfare standards higher than a tasty meal so if Rok Kitchen decides to prioritise Halal, then they have lost my custom. I am sure this is no issue to them but it's such a shame as their food was delicious the last time I had it.

Unbelievable turnaround for service of two minutes. Super tender chicken. Sauce was banging. Great chillies and price point was solid too. Tried the pop-up at Radio City Social 22/07/2023. Looking forward to visiting the shop. Authentic street food experience.

I marked down atmosphere because it's more of a cafe than a restaurant. Also, we had a take-out. As for food, our burgers were great and my wings were the best I have ever had. I'm coming back

Took my wife and son for a lunch yesterday and had an excellent meal full of diverse flavours. The lady that attended us was very kind too. Will have to go back for more.

My wife and I are big foodies, and especially love Korean fried food places. This place exceeded expectations, in direct competition with some of the best Korean Fried Chicken places in London. Amazing crunchiness to the chicken, otherworldly sauces, and an award winning burger that’s truly earned its place. Definitely would recommend and can’t wait to come back for more.

Wonderful food, presented simply and neatly by amazing and friendly staff. A good range of drinks as well. Cannot fault this place in any way. Recommend the deep fried Brie starter. Best I have ever tasted.

Finally managed to get takeaway from here after months of hearing good reviews. I’m pleased to say it wasn’t hyped up and the food was amazing. If you go to eat here, expect really friendly staff, great prices and excellent food! I would highly recommend the sweet chilli loaded fries, everything was perfectly spiced and the chicken was lovely - can’t wait to try new things from here. (P.s Catering for lots of different dietary requirements was a big plus)

Can’t recommended enough ! Was our first time at Rok and we were truly blown away with the quality of the service and food Food was brilliant had starters, main and pudding. Would recommend the Rok fried chicken rice bowl will be visiting again. Staff were so friendly and made a lovely environment felt truly welcomed and where they are a small independent they had a lovely range of local pink gin which was really tasty. They lived up to the hype. Went for lunch today and it was such a great find. VALUE 5/5 Fair value for what you get in terms of quality and portion. SERVICE 5/5 Personal and kind, not conveyor belt. CHOICE 5/5 Something for everyone including a kids menu. VIBE 5/5 Decent for a Thursday lunch. People just kept going in and out. A number of people seated too and you could tell there were a lot of people who were regulars which is a great sign. Worth turning up the music though! RECOMMENDED: Short rib rice bowl, Sweet Chilli Burger, Curry Fries and the Angry Fries. All was done to perfection and the flavour balance was amazing. OVERALL 5/5: Expected it to be good but it turned out to be great. Will definitely go back and try the wings which look very tempting too.

This is my favourite place to order from. It’s the best food round here, nothing tops it as it’s honestly exquisite. also they’re really friendly every time you go in there, no matter how busy they might be. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could :)

Runner up of the public vote for the best burger in Chelmsford in 2022 after only being open for 2 weeks, it was clear that ROK Kitchen was going to be a firm favourite from that first taste of their awesome burger offering. However, they’re not just about burgers. They have some other cracking stuff on the menu including loaded fries, the katsu curry fries are unreal! They also do these amazing rice bowls. These rice bowls take inspiration from the burger flavour offering for the most part but loaded with other vegetables, fruits and other good things that have really been thought through. The balance of these flavours is unreal, each item in the bowl pairs perfectly, offsetting or accentuating the flavours to another level. We tried the Shin beef and Korean Chicken Rice Bowls, with a side of Katsu Cheese fries… did I mention the loaded fries were good? There’s a reason they’re British Street Food Award Winners! The Staff are awesome too! They’re like mates you’ve had for years, you just get on with them from the outset. So friendly, so helpful. Not to mention their approach to inclusivity in their hiring approach, a very refreshing approach. The overall vibe of ROK is cool with a playlist that would make Radio X Jealous. Indie rock, 90s, Britpop vibes all day long, pretty much taken from my favourite playlists on my phone! Overall dining in is a lovely experience not to be missed, but they also do a mean takeaway on the usual delivery platforms! I think we have definitely found a firm favourite!
