Wagamama in Chelmsford

Absolutely love coming here, it’s like a home from home for us. Service is incredible, Logan is absolutely fantastic. Never had a bad meal always consistently fantastic food couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Again waiting 20 minutes for a beer ….unbelievably terrible service as usual ! If you want speed go elsewhere …

Food was awful (overcooked, chewy and the flavour was not on point) service was mediocre, drinks tasted disgusting.

I’ve been to Wagamama many times however this specific visit was made memorable thanks to the lovely server Karen. Firstly, she greeted us with a warm smile which let us (my husband and I) know that we were in good hands then she listened attentively to our orders and even laughed at my husbands classic dad jokes. After the food was served and eaten we made sure to leave a big tip which was just a small token of our appreciation. We will be dining here more often knowing that they have such good customer service.

Our best experience at Wagamama’s so far. The Staff here are consistently good and the food cooked with fresh ingredients with new items appearing on the menu a great plus. We have just discovered the wok cooked vegetables (broccoli, mange four and green beans in a soy sauce mixture) which were cooked to perfection. Our server,the delightful Selima, was amazing..what an asset she is to this great place!

Shocking food. Expected fresh food and well cooked with seasoning and spices and got processed noodles and broth that may as well been bath water

We had another delicious lunch at Wagamama Chelmsford. The restaurant is really big and has a great atmosphere and seats a lot of people. Service is great and food as always is superb. The Soul Club app is a great idea, we have already had a few free main meals as we are regular diners in their restaurants.

Great Wagamama and great service from Logan!

I recently dined at Wagamama and wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, the duck portion was on the smaller side, and the meat was quite dry, which was disappointing. However, the ramens were as delicious as ever. We tried the soy chicken ramen and the grilled chicken ramen, both of which were quite good. The restaurant itself is spacious, with plenty of seating available for customers. One downside was that the toilets could use a refresh; they felt a bit outdated. The service was pleasant and helpful, but they did forget one of our meals, which was a bit frustrating. A common issue I've noticed at Wagamama is that meals often arrive at different times, making it difficult for us to enjoy our food together. It would be nice if they could improve on that aspect. On a positive note, there’s parking available on the street around the shopping mall, which is convenient. Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are definitely areas for improvement.

We experienced an issue with our order delivered by Deliveroo, deliveroo service was as usual incredibly poor in resolving our issue. I then called the Wagamama chelmsford branch and spoke to the manager Claudia, she is an absolute credit to the restaurant. Very professional, ensured to pull out all the stops to resolve our issue, she ensured the food was delivered and then called to check that we received the food. Superb service by Wagamama chelmsford and we will be back in the restaurant soon. Claudia deserves a pay rise. Thanks

Annika was a wonderful waitress and made me feel so loved (especially with a free main as well as it was made wrong for someone else but said to find a table who was lovely and I was the lucky guy!) Visited last night and was just fantastic. Were seated quickly by the window. All the staff super nice and very polite. Were served by Marouan who made our evening exceptional. With his smile and friendly personality really made the difference for us. He made us feel so special. Employees like Marouan are the hidden treasure. Thanks so much for such a nice time. Oh and the food, just delicious and not as spicy as we were warned haha 😉 we will be back

Food was tasty. But the restaurant's air conditioning was uncomfortably cold and it took a really long time for our drinks and food to arrive. When we chased up our drinks the server explained that the order hadn't gone through to the bar. We then sat there in the freezing air con, wondering if there was the same issue with the food. My advice: wear several layers and check your food is actually being prepared sooner rather than later.

Went with a group of 4, we were seated very quickly, very pleasant waitresses and lovely hot food. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Thank you izzy for being so welcoming and caring making our experience lovely.

Today’s experience was extremely disappointing which is a shame because I come here regularly and usually enjoy the food. At first we were surprised that my partner received his Katsu curry about 5 minutes after it was ordered but it was not even hot, the food was cold. After he had his food my meal came 20 minutes later so by the time I had got my food he had already eaten his. When my food arrived it had ingredients inside it that I requested to be removed. There was barely any noodles in my ramen so it felt like I was just eating broth and chicken pieces. I wasted £40 and ended up having to go to a different restaurant because we were still hungry and upset with the experience. Overall, food was cold, came at different times, specific ingredients were not removed when asked and portion size was smaller than usual in the ramen. The waiters were nice and did seem to care but the food was just not up to standard for the price I paid.

Really horrible experience at Chelmsford Wagamama. We had to flag down someone to take our drinks order and food order. It took us half an hour to receive drinks and an hour to get any food, which was the new Korean chicken sharer which was £9 for 7 pieces of thumb sized chicken. We were shocked that it was meant to be a sharer at such a high cost, and had clearly been sat out for a little time as it was not hot at all. We had to chase twice for our food, both times the waiters apologised and said they'd ask the kitchen to rush through the order as we had a cinema booking. My duck noodles arrived and a bunch of noodles were plain where they'd not been mixed in with the rest, so lacked a lot of flavour. We ran out of time for the rest of our meal and told the manager, who offered to remake the dish and rush through my partner's missing noodle dish, that we had to leave to get to our viewing. They refunded the items but the overall experience was appalling and really lacked the freshness and quality we normally experience at Wagamama.

Went for our regular meal at Wagamamas tonight and was served by the wonderful Maoura! His first evening working and what an amazing addition to a fantastic team. He was incredibly professional, friendly and welcoming. Food was superb as always. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Will be back soon.

Nice to see some new options on the Menu, all look great, only tried the Honey Chicken with the Yuzu dip option this time, a fantastic dish, £9 billed as a starter, well recommended, goes well with the usual Gochuchang rice bowl with Tofu side by side as dishes usually come along at different times, but these came together Never been disappointed at Chelmsford, we only go mid week lunch time so it’s not too busy.

Went there for the 1st time in Chelmsford.had the food from loads of other places no problem had to queue for a mile because the kitchen couldn't keep up with the demand got in waitress was lovely. Food comes out so mixed up 4 of us got our mains but had to wait and keep asking for my sons main so all went cold before he got he's which he never ate .I spent £200 ÷ and got ill over night with food poisoning. I've suffered all night and day never again. Food was rotten

Having been to this Wagamama's many times before and others around the country I was very unhappy with what happened again tonight. We understand that food ordered doesn't arrive at the same time its just the way they do things. Tonight my partner who is a very slow eater had finished her food and mine hadn't arrived. One of the side dishes didn't appear at all. The exact same thing happened last time we went. it had plainly been forgotten until one of the staff noticed only one main. We thought we would give it another try but that will be the last, many other restaurants to choose from. The offer to take it off the bill wasn't really enough, nor taking it home in a paper bag, you need to up your game!

Celebrated my 54th birthday today 6/9, yesterday evening. Everything was amazing, including both lychee cocktails, apart from they ran out of the meringue cake. So disappointing but I ordered the Basque cheesecake which was bland, the passion fruit sauce thin, colourless, tasteless and had no seeds in it! Could have been anything drizzled over the top. I wasn't going to complain, but the waitress asked how it was and I told her. She spoke to the manager and as a gesture of goodwill report had the cost of the cheese cake refunded to me.

The nicest Japanese chain I've ever been to with quick delivering , delicious food and unique drinks. There's something for everyone!

Been there last week with my cousins. My cousin is a regular there and he ordered everything without even asking us. Omg, have to say, the food was amazing, especially the Fire Cracker Chicken and the Katsu curry. I'm sure to be a regular too. Just that we went too late, there was only one table apart from ours'. That's why it's a 4 star for atmosphere. I don't blame them though. It was almost closing time. But thanks once again for accommodating us that evening to dine with you. Regret how I missed this Gem all these days....

You are presented with food here whenever it is ready. This makes for an awkward experience with one person having their meal and the other waiting while the other eats.

Rubbish service on Fathers Day! No excuse, there were loads of staff serving and in the kitchen, the restaurant was only a quarter full but my husband couldn’t even get a beer with his meal! They seemed to be prioritising Just Eat orders! Won’t rush back!

Myself and my daughter both ordered the same dish was told they might come at slightly different times. My daughter received hers after 25 minutes waiting, other tables got theirs i waited another 15 minutes to get mine after asking where my dish was and was told they informed me that it might be slightly different times, she had finished hers just after i got mine, no apologies from staff

Always prefer this branch over others, service always good and the food too, tried out the Kare Buroso Ramen with a curry flavour broth, very nice, I do like the coated tofu here and being a full on meat lover that says it must be good, not something we usually order is the Phad Thai, sadly can’t recommend it, as basically it’s not Phad Thai, only in name, strange really as it’s a fairly simple dish to get right if you know the ingredients used, it doesn’t taste like the real thing or look like it, plus 2 tiny prawns came with it, the tiny bits of bitter burnt onion didn’t help, back to the drawing board with that one.

First lunch visit as invitation for friends birthday lunch. Varieties of noodles and rice dishes. Well seasoned and freshly prepared. Staff was very friendly. Well trained to allergies requirements. Had an enjoyable lunch.

The food is generally really nice. But I really do not like the fact your food comes out as and when. Went with two children. Son got his starter and then his main as soon has starter finished. About 5 minutes later I hot my main. No side of my side dish. Our daughter waited another 10 minutes for her first dish watching us eat. The waitress kept coming over apologising to my daughter that she had no food. If it wasn't for that it would be 5 stars. I had the Katsu Curry but must say it wasn't great. Way too much tasteless bland rice. Please add some salt when you cook it. The sauce was not that well seasoned either.i won't be ordering that dish again. Kids meals were very tasty once they arrived. I'm also not sure I like the backless chairs. Where do you put your coat? Most people sat on theirs. Has the feeling of a bar with those chairs. As if to say "don't get comfy in here we want you out again in a flash"

We like this branch, food is always how it should be which is how this chain should be exact, the gochuchang rice bowl is superb, I do prefer with silky Tofu and it’s cheaper !! Well presented, as always fried shrooms are spot on, a reliable branch of Waga unlike our Southend one which is a bit hit and miss.

As a regular visitor it’s sad to leave this review . The food was as usual more than acceptable but sadly let down by the service and then the attempt to resolve and comp me just made things worse . Having ordered the Ramen grilled chicken with a spicy broth it was read back as chilli chicken . I confirmed that was incorrect and corrected the server . They nodded and agreed . When the food arrived it was placed down as a chili chicken - I queried it saying I had ordered the grilled chicken with spicy broth . The server returned and informed me it was the same and all chicken is grilled and walked away . Upon trying to pay the bill we were told the table didn’t exist so asked the server for the bill instead - when it arrived it said chilli chicken so again I explained I had ordered different dish not the chili chicken in the spicy broth but the grilled chicken. The front desk lady was very apologetic and Said she would rectify it and then walked away where a discussion took place with the original server ( who seemed very amused by the whole situation ) they comped my Chilli Chicken and charged instead for the chicken ramen which I had ordered but never received . The whole lunch was spoilt , the sniggering server and the comping of 50p just took the Mickey out of all of us My bill arrived and i paid it but wont be going back . Very disappointing

Service quick and food delicious and hot but long wait for both drinks and food and a side was forgotten about and delivered only after all food had been eaten. Apart from that nice atmosphere.

So our teenage daughter wanted to go to Wagamamas for her birthday dinner. Four of us went, two adults, one teenager and one 8 year old. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the layout of the restaurant is very good. And one thing I liked was the lighting, not too bright, not too dark. Just right. The food was very good, and there was something for everyone. There is a great selection of dishes to choose from, as well as drinks and desserts. As costs go, pretty much standard for this day and age, which some would deem expensive. We had four meals, some sides, one round of soft drinks and desserts. It came to over £100, so yes a bit expensive. But the evening was enjoyable and the food was great.

We placed an enormous order with Wagamamas Chelmsford for delivery. Not only was everything included but they also generously added extras. It was all warm, delicious and remarkably quick. Genuinely can not fault the service and would recommend to anyone. Thank you

Have had better meals, difficult to get the teams attention and when I did I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. When the waitress cleared our table she put other people’s dirty plates on our table so she could stack them all up, I think all things considered she should have taken those plates and come back!

Yesterday, on my birthday, I celebrated at Wagamama with friends and indulged in their exquisite teppanyaki dish—freshly grilled, featuring a harmonious blend of soft noodles, crunchy vegetables, and salmon. This meal easily ranks among my top favorites, especially considering it was in the UK.

I go there quite often and order the same thing, yasi mushroom with udon noodles. It took 15 minutes to order then waited 10 minutes and a plate of Pad Thai turned up, obviously pointed out and they said it would be done again. Another 10 minutes and behold Yasi mushrooms on Udon Noodles. Only problem no mushrooms. I spoke to the serving staff who was apologetic but I then walked out. I phoned when I got home and again apologies from the manager and promised her senior would ring me and took my e-mail so they could give me a voucher for my inconvenience. No call or voucher. Shoddy service.
