The best restaurants in Chelmsford East of England

I have visited here before when it was under the old owners so it was nice to see what the new owners have done with the venue. Since being taken over it is in the middle of being redecorate with subtle changes being made each time you visit (i.e. new pictures on walls, newly painted walls etc.) this is nice to see as it shows the new owners are putting the time and effort to make it a nice place. The food itself is nice, but budget, given the prices though you can’t really expect Michelin star food for such cheap prices. The food is always well cooked and bit portion sizes. The new management and staff are polite and professional and will always try and cater for any request made by the customer. Overall, this is a lovely little cafe in South Woodham and really nice to see it has remained a cafe and is thriving under the new management.

Set in Highlands park. For this event free reserved parking. Beautiful surrounding, with outstanding country views. A Traditional English Tea, Great service and a very nice atmosphere . Good photo opportunities

We have ordered twice and we really enjoyed the food you definitely get your money's worth

I came here with my family to celebrate an event, we order 4 plates of noodles and my dad received not even a normal portion for a grown man. For what is considered a normal portion, the amount was extremely small,far less than what one would reasonably expect for the price charged. We are very disappointed because If I’m paying this much, I’d at least like to receive a portion that feels like a proper meal. Don’t think we never come back again!

The best service from Nicolo and the team!

I'm usually very impressed with Cafe Nero at Stansted but not today!! I was directed to a till where the lady server disappeared without any explanation, leaving me standing there. It gave me plenty of time to observe the empty plates, usually filled with tempting bites. Coffee was watery at best. I won't be stopping by again.

Music is way too loud, waiters can't hear orders, customers can't hear eachother at same table.

Lovely place. Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely visit again if we were in the area at any time. Well worth a visit.

Lovely Mexican restaurant with large sitting area. Very delicious food with freshly made salads.

Been here 2 weeks running, as it's one of the few places that do a variety of salads and ploughman's...old style salads...no fancy grains/ beans etc...just salad vegetables and coleslaw with ham or cheese etc...and they are very fresh, delicious. Very good service. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Great beers! What more could you need. Excellent!

Best indian around. Great flavours and good prices - will definitely be back! Me and my boyfriend had the korma and massala- was delicious!
