My daughter and I always visit the Breakfast Club. The staff in Chelmsford are so lovely and welcoming. The food is fantastic!

Food was lovely, fun atmosphere and a Emily who served us was great!

Fab brunch/ breakfast eatery with friendly welcoming staff ( Charlie was great) and a warm relaxed atmosphere. Extensive menu and yummy food! Highly recommend the Huevos Rancheros!

We first went to the Brighton Breakfast Club…& then found this one closer to home. We visit every pancake day, during December & for our birthdays. We love it here but also love the specials. The team are so helpful & want to know our thoughts….because we take breakfast quite seriously…after all- it is the most important meal of the day…even if it’s 4pm 😉 Keep doing what you’re doing TBC

Good service and good food. Tip Do not sit near the door that goes to the small out door seating area. The staff are in and out and due to how slow the door opens and closes they wedge it with their foot. Fine in the summer, frustrating in the winter , food and the customer gets cold very quickly.

We went in the morning for breakfast without a reservation, and fortunately, the restaurant was not full, so we were seated immediately. From the start, the service was excellent—the waiters were friendly, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The coffee was very good, with a rich aroma and well-balanced flavor. The food arrived within a reasonable time, well presented, and delicious. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and carefully prepared. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. Everything was impeccably clean, which adds to the overall comfort and pleasant experience. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

Boyfriend has not long got some food here, he's never been here before and part of his order was some chicken, after eating half of it he noticed it was raw. Of course he didn't pay and put in a complaint and they said 'sorry' but sorry don't take back the fact he's already ate it. Absolutely disgusting do your 'chefs' even know how to cook? Do you not check your chicken with a food thermometer? Clearly not. I know a formal complaint will receive an outcome of absolutely nothing and sorry isn't good enough especially if he ends up with food poisoning, how disgusting!!! Think people need to be aware, if you order chicken, definitely check before you eat it!!!! Wouldn't recommend anyway. Would rate minus 5 if I could, You don't even deserve the 1 star 😤

My wife surprised me with a stealth breakfast order from The Breakfast Club. It was so tasty. I had the avocado and scrambled egg breakfast burger, which had a little hot sauce and onion relish in it, was sloppy but very very tasty. Nice fresh avocado as well, was to my liking perfectly. Also had a side order of three hash browns that were really crisp and firm. Had it with a side of chipotle ketchup that was top draw and almost essential I’d say !! Washed done with a fresh pressed apple juice, was honestly incredible. Thanks guys and thanks Kayleigh x x.

I recently moved to the area, and Cameron and the staff had made my time here feel like a real home. Top it off with outstanding food and service, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for their new ‘spot’

I think I was a victim of my own menu choices, but I can only judge the place on my experience, so... I opted for the Chicken, Bacon & Wafles, and honestly it was all quite bland and dry, the syrup hardly made a dent. I also had a flat white that was served in, what appeared to be, a double espresso cup... it was very bitter, and not very enjoyable. The decoration was good, the service was excellent, but I probably wouldn't go back.

Music too loud, Food took a while to come muffins not toasted, food lukewarm, was then asked how long we were going to be as our table was booked, can we finish our cups of tea! How rude.

Lovely breakfast with the family this morning. We were served by Jess, she offered drinks as soon as we sat down and kept us topped up with coffee throughout, her service made it a really enjoyable meal. In addition the food was great, looking forward to my next visit!

Funny establishment. Took an hour for 3 pancakes. When asked about it they said it’s “gonna stil be cooking”… whatever that means. Just go Queenies. At least they care about their customers.

Really lovely breakfast on New Years day with very friendly and helpful service. Food took a little while to come but we were more than happy to sit back and relax.

Lovely place, good range of menu but I did not like the fried green tomatoes!! Conscientious re dietary requirements.

Not bad food but the wait was nearly an hour for our tables food and the music for 11:00 was far too loud to be able to hear each other without continuously having to repeat yourself. It was louder than a Friday night pub atmosphere which nobody wants in the morning.

From being served a warm as in from the hot tap warm glass of water to a lengthy wait for two full monty breakfasts that when arrived certainly didn't look freshly cooked in any way . Edible but disappointing.

Very friendly staff and the food was lovely. My wife required gluten free options and the staff was extremely helpful. Very nice atmosphere in there, always with a smile.

Both mine and my sons eggs were cold I did mention it to our waiter , he did say he was sorry however when the bill arrived it included a service charge and not wanting to make a fuss, as it was breakfast out to cheer him as it was the anniversary of a family tragedy, I just paid the bill and we left

I had a wonderful time at the breakfast club! Before I had even been seated I was greeted politely and treated with respect! I was shown the Chef Lee’s special by my server Charlie which was a cinnamon french toast, super soft, cinnamony the right amount of sweetness, a really nice hint of orange and chocolate was the literal icing on the cake! Great food and coffee, pricy but it's guaranteed to satisfy. Only downside are the wait times, waiting for food then waiting for the bill seems to take a long time. I've been twice in the last month and had the same problem each time. Waiting staff are nice and if you highlight you have been waiting a bit too long they're polite and professional enough to try to amend the issue. I'd recommend this place, the breakfast selection is much better than the other cafes in Chelmsford, but try reserving ahead of time or avoiding on the weekends, or if you're really need to eat and you can't wait.

Visited on Sunday , I had egg Benedict’s and an orange juice , the egg Benedict’s were amazing ,something out of this world . Great food good vibes

Amazingly over priced, shocked at the so called discretionary service charge its not discretionary, the food was on the cold side, the amount of coffee you get for the price Is terrible can get more for the same price from a vending machine, I would not recommend this place at all, will never be back

10am on a Sunday morning no rolls for breakfast burgers no sweetener for drinks and our drinks came half way through breakfast and were cold even though the order was taken a good ten mins before the good order.

Tried to eat here but after being seated after what was already too long of a wait. We decide what we want but nobody comes back around to take the order, waited and waited. In the end we left and came directly opposite to King’s Coffee House. I won’t bother with Breakfast club again and will just come to Kings to begin with.

Great food, nice staff and lovely surroundings- would definitely recommend the breakfast club! We’ve been to the breakfast club twice now- both times the food has been excellent and the staff approachable. It sells a variety of breakfast/brunch style dishes, including pancakes, English and American style breakfasts as well as lots of Mexican style food. We had Huevos Rancheros, the “big stack” pancakes and milkshakes. All the food and drink was delicious. The service was slightly slow the first time we went, but it was busy so this made sense. The second time we went, it was a lot quicker. Both times the staff were friendly though. The breakfast club is also well located in Chelmsford, only a few mins from the city centre and near multiple car parks.

Really tasty, nice place to meet friends for breakfast. I had poached eggs and sadly they were overcooked and hard. The rest of my breakfast was yummy, including the cappuccinos 😁 Will be back soon.

This was for my son’s birthday breakfast meal. We felt rushed throughout (clearing plates as people finished, rather than waiting for every person on the table to be finished) , 2 of the 5 meals were incorrect & had to go back to the kitchen and despite me noting on the booking that it was our son’s 10th birthday, there was no acknowledgement of that to him, by any of the staff.

Our first breakfast stop after the ferry. Food was okay, unfortunately it felt warmed up in the microwave… What was surprising, however, was the overall high price.

Lovely guy served us and complimented me on my t shirt! The food arrived quickly and was nice. I am a breakfast club fan in general but hadn't been to this branch yet. The only downside for me was the syrup was cold (wasn't sure if it was meant to be?), the food was lukewarm and the restaurant itself was quite cold but I would 100% return if I was passing by.

Monday afternoon was about 6 tables so wasn’t busy at all everyone else’s food was served. We’d been sitting for about 45 minutes since we ordered asked where our food was and got told the ticket didn’t get put through, if we didn’t ask where the food was we would of been sat there for another hour.

We popped in for breakfast as start of our little holiday and what a brilliant way to start it! Amazing food! The staff were very welcoming and willing to help!

Service was good - let down by the kitchen. The eggs were hard. The plate had no love in it. The hollandaise sauce had the consistency of butter (near solid). The coffee was tepid and tasteless. And half a cup. Oh, come on! I’m sorry, but the whole experience was sad and disappointing. Best avoided. I have never given a bad review before - I tend to remain quiet. But I can’t let them off the hook for today’s appalling performance.

Good portions sizes, service a little slow (it was fathers day). £2 for a childs juice, but when asked if we wanted to go large, these were £6.50 each, which seems very expensive for a fruit juice.

Great food. Delicious. The juices and smoothies were equally awesome. Special shout out to the barista Nadine who whipped up one of the best cortado’s ever.Charlie our table host was on top of his game. An extremely satisfying consumer experience.

Ordered of just eat completely gave us the wrong order with half the items missing, couldn’t even fix the mistake.

Unlike London branches this wasn’t too busy and there were no queues. Food was really good and the chips along with the fried potatoes were the best I have ever had. Also they have the largest tobasco bottles I have ever seen! One of the seven wonders of Chelmsford.

Lovely atmosphere. The two girls that were working were so pleasant. Attentive without being in your face and so friendly. There were two of us there and the food was so fresh and so tasty. I can recommend the “When halloumi met salad” wrap. Great flavour. Very good value and great choice on menu. Look forward to our next visit when we’re in Chelmsford again.

This is my second time back at this branch. Food was lovely. It was a great little lunch out. Unfortunately our servers were hard to get hold of, drinks took a while and food took even longer. Really unfortunate after a lovely first visit.

Have been here 4 times now so this is an overall review: I would say the prices are shocking for what you actually get, portions quite small for such a costly breakfast and drinks and horrifically priced. On top of that, a 12.5% service charge is put on the bill. My usual experience is that you order your food, the server brings it to you and then you never see them again unless you spend 10 minutes trying to get someone’s attention so this is an extortionate charge. Putting this on the bill makes it so awkward for someone to request it to be removed, even when it isn’t deserved. This isn’t America, i don’t agree with “service charge”, I am already being charged for service when I eat in a restaurant and pay 6x the price for what it would cost to make at home? It’s absurd. Credit where credit is due however, unexpectedly, the staff were incredibly attentive during sunday bottomless brunch and we definitely got our moneys worth. Oftentimes these tend to be a huge rip off as servers take forever to bring you drinks and take your orders to try rip you off. Had no problem paying the service charge as they were excellent at making sure we weren’t waiting around for drinks for forever. They did get a couple of our drinks wrong but wasn’t a huge problem. Food is always nice, i enjoy the breakfasts here everything always tastes great, it’s just the price and the service which is often shocking, however as you can read this is situational

Was in there the other day breakfast was lovely! However, the staff weren’t really around it was more of a what food what drink no check up on how the food was just to ask if we needed another drink. At the end they charged my friends and I a £12 or over service charge? Why are you making us tip you for service when you haven’t even done much for it! It was ridiculous. I would’ve given a small tip out of common courtesy. Especially with the challenge of costs these days the breakfast was expensive as it was, it’s outrageous to charge that much for a tip. It makes me think they assumed we wouldn’t notice which is just wrong on a whole another level, thinking that we were too old enough to just spend money carelessly without thought.

We have walked past TBC many times but decided to eat here this morning. Great atmosphere, staff were extremely friendly and polite, especially the young lady who was running the front of house single handedly. The food was immense, my daughter had the full monty and she was very impressed....she is a qualified chef so if she thinks it's good then it really is good. I had the huevos ranchers...awesome, incredible and amazing!! The last time I ate this was at a Mexican restaurant in illinois, just outside of Chicago in 1992 and trust me the breakfast club beat it hands down. So anyone, like us, that walks past and wonders, do yourself a favour, do go in and enjoy their fabulous food.

I love this quirky not so little place ! I love the decor ! Service is ALWAYS fantastic, food is nice, I'm personally not a fan of thier smashed avocado. Would be nice to be able to have the option to have it without the salsa stuff . Same for the beans . But apart from that everything else is lovely and you get your food hot and fast . Best cup of tea in Chelmsford! Highly recommended

Really nice atmosphere very chill , the food I had the Breaky and they allowed to substitute which was great I did judge the portion at first but once I was finished I felt like i was gonna burst, I also has the berrie smoothie which was great with the fresh fruits very good place to have breakfast Highly recommended

First visit to TBC and loved it! I had the all American and was surprised at how big the breakfast was! I only got through half of it, but it was truly delicious. The restaurant was also very accommodating to our groups two toddlers, tiny baby and two bulky buggies, and the toddlers were kept busy with colouring in in between crawling under the tables and jumping on the seats which the staff weren’t phased by (thankfully). It was a truly a wonderful breakfast experience

Food was nice, although needed sharper knives to cut through bread. Drinks were very small for the price. Felt very rushed at the end, bill was bought up before we had asked for it and staff constantly asking us if we was ready to pay even though there were plenty of spare tables. The rush to get us out spoiled the visit.

Fantastic brunch with family. Even though this popular restaurant was busy, we were warmly welcomed by Charlie and made to feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble, and all our questions about the variety of dishes were reassuringly answered. Four empty plates, were testament to a very enjoyable meal! I was visiting Chelmsford this weekend and stopped at The Breakfast Club on Saturday morning for a bite to eat. The restaurant has a funky 60's feel to it and the ambience was really pleasant. There's seating inside, on a small terrace, and out on the street, so you can pick your level of sun exposure (or protection from the rain). The staff were all relaxed and really friendly and the food was fantastic. As you might expect with a name like The Breakfast Club, they serve breakfast. All Day. As breakfast is the best meal of the day, this is a bit of a winner for me. We had the American Breakfast and Eggs Benedict, both excellent, and a pink chai latte - that was a new one for me - but my daughter loved it. There was an offer for a weekend boozy brunch. Its seems like something to try, but my schedule didn't allow .. this time. The Breakfast Club, like the song from the movie, "don't you forget about me."
