The best chai lattés in Chelmsford! I have enjoyed many great breakfasts here, my only criticism is that when coming in for just coffees and cakes I have had a discretionary service charge to the bill. I can understand for meals but for coffee seems a bit much.

Big Brekkie - on par with a Wetherspoons breakfast. Cups stink, not rinsed properly from dishwasher. Tables too small for a group of four, elbow clashing. Average at best.

Jamaica Blue in Chelmsford is a fantastic spot for breakfast. They offer great food at reasonable prices, and the atmosphere is welcoming and vibrant. Highly recommended for a delightful morning meal! Fabulous!

Popped in by chance, extremely clean, nice ambience, service and food were great.

Visited this lovely cosy restaurant on 6th May. The chicken burger was perfect. Even the oatmeal and flat white coffee was brilliant. The hostess Ruby was lovely and she was very caring towards my DD. Best place for a quiet brunch and quick service!

Only my 2nd time at this place! Had to send my meal back because I was served rotten fruit on the pancakes! Obviously just scrapped off the fruit and replaced it with another rotten banana!

Early Elevenses whilst hubby did the local Half Marathon. Enjoyed a lovely Vienna Latte and delicious slice of Lemon and White Chocolate cake. Great service. Extensive menu choice. Good prices.

Against my better judgement, I ordered the steak stacker, which, apart from one other time, has always been delicious. I explained to my serve at my previous disappointment, and he assured me that every care would be taken to provide a decent plate. As before, sadly, the stake was tough and totally unseasoned. The asparagus was supposed to be grilled, however, they were raw. The tomatoes were a nice touch, but also uncooked. Such a pity. I had two types of coffee The first was far too weak, and I did mention this to the server, however, the second one I selected the Jamaica blue range and it was strong and good. I will not be ordering the steak platter again.

We’ve been here a few times now and while it is a lovely dining experience and the service is good with friendly staff, the food is really where it lets itself down. Mostly it is tasty however there are a few issues like poorly cooked eggs, over cooked veggie sausages and the biggest problem is the money you pay vs the portion sizes. The veggie breakfast doesn’t come with toast, and a portion of toast separately is £3!? The kids food was £3 something and to add on a singular sausage was £3 also (which is inconsistent with our last visit where we paid similar for 2 sausages). If you do have a dish with sourdough it is one slice cut in two, which just seems a bit stingy for the price you’re paying? Coffee is good but honestly, with these prices we won’t be rushing back.

Hungry for breakfast, we found this Cafe and what a find. Clearly a popular eaterie as it was full when we arrived at 10:00am but seeing so many folks obviously enjoying what they had, we decided to wait for a table. Estimated time was 5 minutes but it was much later, probably nearer 15 when the first movement occurred. We were immediately taken to the table by a very apologetic waitress. and within a few minutes, we had ordered, had our drinks delivered and not long after the huge plateful of "Eggs your way". Lovely sourdough bread, a mound of scrambled egg, 3 large rashers of crispy bacon and a pot of the most amazing Chilli Jam I have ever tasted. Total (inluding tip) cost around £25 - true value for money considering the quality of the food, service and surroundings. Just found out that we have one of this chain reasonably local to me, so guess I may just test them out to see if the standard is the same.

#jamaicablue what has happened use to be one our favourite places.. but today 😧 I ordered a cheese salad sandwich on sourdough.. first I’m given a toasted sandwich which I sent back didn’t ask for toasted.. then when my sandwich arrives it’s cheese,tomato & pesto which I ate but not what I ordered.. so I told the waitress when she asked if everything was okay.. she said it was because I pointed to the chicken sandwich in the display… I was merely showing her what sourdough looked like.. her attitude was atrocious and when we got the bill I was charged for chicken 😧 you need to up your game #jamaicablue 3/10

Had a great time at this restaurant. We did have to wait for a few minutes to be seated as it was very busy. The food was very good although wish there were a few more options to choose from. Staff were lovely and wait time for food was very fast

I have been visiting regularly for a year since i moved to Chelmsford. I often have a breakfast where I change 2 meat products offered for one veggie one. However, for the first time I was told that i need to pay extra to make thus change. A waitress was tasked to impart this fact by her manager.Apparently this wasn't necessary last week or 2 weeks before that. Also the meat products had a higher monetary value than the 1 veggie substitution. This is unacceptable, they have now lost a regular customer because they decided to take this approach. There are many good breakfast places to eat in Chelmsford. Not sure this approach is a good one, given the compettive market this business operates in.

Popped in here for breakfast. The service was very good and friendly staff. My vegetarian breakfast roll looked appetising only to be met with disappointment at seeing inside was a square fried egg the tiniest I have ever seen! I am aware that eggs can be cook on a tray and cut but this was like the end corner! Didn’t have time to say anything and it all tasted lovely but a fried/baked egg should be of a decent size!

Delicious! Food is very fresh. The staff are so friendly, I really appreciate their kindness the other day.

My wife and I came for a coffee, a table became available and we were told we had to wait 10 minutes before ordering which was no problem. I asked if we can at least sit at the table and wait, but we were told we had to stand by the door as if we sat down it would confuse their ordering system. EXTREMELY POOR ATTITUDE TO LOOKING AFTER THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Difficult to sense the style of the place at first. Breakfast served all day, I think. If it's a cafe then it's unusual to wait to be seated. Quite nice meal.

Went Sunday morning. Very busy. Waited for about 10 minutes. This was no big deal. We were seated at a table for 2 and waited patiently to be served by young waiting staff. We then watched her serve all out of sequence to the guests which were arriving so we were the last from approximately 5 tables entering. Food came out for all the other quests . When we asked where our food was, the young lady went to check she did not come back to us to reassure us our order was being prepared. So after another 10 minutes approx we decided enough was enough and decided to leave. We told the manager that we hadn’t been fed and she said that she knew and was sorry. So with regards to food cannot comment but what I can say is service is poor and chaotic. Will not return

Jamaica Blue, does what it says on the tin, the food is good, bustling atmosphere and good service. Nothing is done badly and a good place to visit. I personally found it a little noisy due to the acoustics and felt that I needed to eat-pay-leave. That’s more of a reflection of me than anything that one could critique. Coffee as you would expect was excellent. Worth visiting and certainly are doing what they well as it’s nice and busy.

Went got a cheese and onion pie it wasn't a pie it was in a glass bowl the pastry was black it was burn to the pastry of the so called pie turned it over was completely black I complained he said I w.ill do another one I said as long as its not like the last then they came and said they didn't have any can I give you something else I said a tea cake couldn't eat it it was burnt didn't offer a refund it cost £17 90 for somewhat was all left on table stay clear of that place worst place in warrington to eat

There was slow service even when not many customers many of times where our food was ready but not given to us and giving us the wrong food we had to speak to the employees multiple of times to get our food or to get the right food the place looks very aesthetically pleasing but didn't live up to its standard

Very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed a very good vegan brunch here with an oatmilk latte. Only dropped a star as the veggie sausage was quite hard, but everything else was lovely. I would have preferred a non processed item instead of the sausage, maybe homemade beans would be good?

Went with my girlfriend today, food was nice but ordered a tea and ice peach tea. The mug for the tea was really dirty so we asked for another one it was the same. And regards to the ice peach tea it was fizzy which my girlfriend couldnt drink.

Had lunch here recently and food choice and quality very good. Service excellent. Maybe the tables are a little close together but I understand this from a business point of view. However, people seem to use the restaurant as an extension of the office for a working lunch and you feel you are in a meeting with them if they are a bit load. Maybe a separate area for business meetings would better for the overall atmosphere.

I used to go here quite a lot when it first opened. The staff are super. Very attentive and they care. The food on the other hand has been on a slow downward spiral. The sausage I had with the all new american diner breakfast was appalling. They have changed the brand they buy in. Now they're just fatty and tasteless. I actually had to spit out a lump of fat from the sausage (see picture). The pancakes are tiny, they used to be double the size. I don't see how using half the batter would make a huge difference in cost? Batter is flour, eggs and milk lol we're talking pennies. The hash browns I think have changed as well. I will go back one more time at some point to check it out again but its very dissapointing to see this place go down hill. On a side note, the prices have gone up too, when food prices have actually gone down ... I hope they are able to find new management so they can improve and turn a new leaf 🙏🏻 Here's hoping.

SHAMELESS CULTURAL APPROPRIATION. Looked to this cafe thinking I would get some culture. This has less culture or value to the Roots it claims as Ronald McDonald. Do you give a percentage of sales to support Jamaican Coffee growers? Do you have one Jamaican person on the payroll? It’s sad misappropriation like this that leaves the taste of plastic in my mouth any time I venture near Chelmsford. Plastic town, plastic people, plastic jokers

Went here on Valentine’s day, we were served by Dougie who was attentive and served us our food very promptly. The avocado toast and turkish eggs were amazing, in both quality and size. We even ordered a spaniata and the quality remained. The coffee was great and the iced peach tea was amazing! Great cost for brunch, will come again.

None eventful meal, but based on individual taste. Would go again but maybe annually rather than frequent. As said might suit different peoples taste more. Nothing wrong with staff they were good. Toilet a bit weird as has a sliding door directly to restaurant.

I no longer live in Chelmsford but luckily for me some family does and each time I visit them I make sure to meet at the Jamaica Blue Cafe. For me it hits all the right notes for good brunch/ lunch spot. The staff have always been friendly and attentive, the food is always good and the coffee is worth the visit alone. The menu choices are always well planned too. My family can at times be quite picky and yet the range of dishes here cater for all preferences. Will I visit again? Absolutely, at the next possible opportunity.

I’m a regular at this place. Always receive great service and a lovely brunch - tend to always get the eggs benny but will have to branch out at some point! Definitely worth a visit for a quick brunch in Chelmsford.

Breakfast 🍳 was overcooked never had such a fricking diabolical breakfast toilet facilities need a good clean around the floor and walls with a strong cleaner only one toilet for the amount of seating🤷toilet is really close to where people eat food so I don't know how someone in a wheelchair would get into the toilet as tables and chairs cause an obstruction so that is why it only has 1star🤔 Main door is difficult to get through so try another café for breakfast

Didn't know this restaurant existed. So pleased I found it. Excellent food. Staff very friendly and professional. Prices reasonable too. Really worth a visit. Scrambled eggs are not my favourite but this was delicious.

apparently I was going to eat sirloin in a sandwich and I can tell that was not sirloin at all. The lady at the entrance is many things but kind ... even my drink was wrong...never going back again

Worst smoothie I ever drunk, it is more like a milkshake. And since when are smoothies made of syrup??? Horrible. The staff was untrained, they couldn't answer basic questions. The design is nice but everything else is a big no.

Had an hour or so to kill as my car was in for a repair, walked into Ilford to find somewhere to get breakfast. The menu looked interesting here so decided to eat in. Initially I was a bit taken aback at the prices, but when my scrambled eggs mushrooms and beans arrived I understood. Huge portions, well presented and utterly delicious. Will definitely eat there again, and recommend it to friends. Staff were lovely too.
