The Coffee Lounge in Chelmsford

I have visited here before when it was under the old owners so it was nice to see what the new owners have done with the venue. Since being taken over it is in the middle of being redecorate with subtle changes being made each time you visit (i.e. new pictures on walls, newly painted walls etc.) this is nice to see as it shows the new owners are putting the time and effort to make it a nice place. The food itself is nice, but budget, given the prices though you can’t really expect Michelin star food for such cheap prices. The food is always well cooked and bit portion sizes. The new management and staff are polite and professional and will always try and cater for any request made by the customer. Overall, this is a lovely little cafe in South Woodham and really nice to see it has remained a cafe and is thriving under the new management.

My husband and I like to have a good breakfast on a Sunday morning, and we have just been to the "Coffee Lounge" in the town. We'd been before but the breakfasts weren't that great but now it's under New Management. The menus have changed completely and you get so much more for your money and a very tasty breakfast. I had 2 bacon, egg, fried bread and fried tomatoes all for £6. My husband had roughly the same but had chips as well for £6.70 I think. They are also staying open until 4pm so great if I want to pop in for a coffee and a sarnie in the week. They also do other hot meals, sandwiches and baguettes. You also get a warm welcome from the owner which is rare these days. It's a 10/10 from us, well done.

Cold horrible burnt food 🤮 Reasonable prices so thought I’d give it a go instead of The eatery and that was a mistake!!

I ordered from Uber eats a breakfast baguette and bloody Uber messed it up I called the coffee lounge and they was so helpful and completely understanding and gave me a free chips for a sorry for the whole situation they are very clean in there in general they was very very good!

A bit off the beaten track , but our first experience of dining out under the latest covid regs made it extremel enjoyable . The food was good , as was the service but the coffee was wanting
