The best restaurants in Braintree East of England

Delivery time was meant to be 19:10 the food turned up at 19:40, when it arrived it was Lukewarm, when I called up to explain this they were not interested whatsoever I ended the conversation with in future I will be ordering from domino’s he replied ok then bye, 2 large pizzas delivered cost £46 I expect it to be hot when it arrives and there was not much topping on them, we actually laughed about it because one of the pizzas was all the meats and there was hardly no meat on it, I would avoid this place and for the price I would go to the supermarket next time and cook them at home…. At least I know they will be hot.

Part of the breakfast was missing despite telling the staff about it I still never got it which wound me up to the point after 10 minutes I left my breakfast and left Morrisons of Witham and I’m afraid to say I won’t be returning.

I telephoned an order through to collect, the order was ready and on time - however !! This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had of buying Fish and Chips - WHY - although my piece of fish was white and ok the batter was awfully soggy, my partners fish was grey in the middle - threw it in the bin, the chips were mostly awful - and the price for one large cod and one medium cod with one portion of regular chips - £21.30 WOW !!!!

We’ve used this Domino’s on multiple occasions, but a recent experience in December 2022 has led us to write this review. We placed an order at around 18:20 on a Sunday evening, the food didn’t arrive until 20:00 and was like warm at best. I raised this with Domino’s at the time, they offered a voucher and next time I tried to use it at this store, the staff claimed they knew nothing about it! When I eventually spoke to someone who did know about the voucher, they said the delivery time would be over 1 1/2 hours, the reason for our original complaint! We’ve since tried to engage for a refund with Domino’s HQ and the owner of this “franchise” to no avail, so advice is to use another local takeaway store instead - do not use this Domino’s. Support local businesses instead, the franchisee of this store does not care about basic customer service.

Went to have an evening meal. Lovely setting but we found it difficult to find anything we wanted to eat. If you want a salad, a baked potatoe or a microwaved meal fine. Wont come back again. Such a wasted opportunity.

Prawns looked pale and bland tasting. Chicken is the cheapest on the market, no quality. Won’t be returning as a customer!

Engin is the best geeza going, so friendly! Customer service was great and so was the food! Also music playing was so bloody great

second time if ordering from here. First time had to wait ages for delivery and when it came the food was just warm. However decided to give them a second chance. After been told it would be about half a hour, after nearly an hour of waiting, phoned only to be told they had tried to deliver it. We don’t live in the sticks, quite the opposite, the area is well lit and house number clearly displayed. Said we didn’t want it if it was likely not to be hot but we were told they would cook it fresh. After only 10 mins it arrived. The onion relish was warm and tasted of vinegar, the food had clearly been microwaved as it was piping hot only in places, lacked any flavour and the cheese and garlic bread lacked any cheese or garlic. We are sorry to say we will definitely NOT be supporting this local business again. Total waste of money.

After visiting this cafe for the second time since opening, I can safely say we won't be returning. Went as a group of builders who just want a breakfast without a huge wait As you enter the cafe your made to go to the counter and for some bizarre reason your made to provide the amount of items you require with no choice of any set breakfasts which has proved in every other cafe its quicker and easier! so anyway this is the start of the delays then whilst waiting painfully at the back of the que for the 5 people in front of me to try and recite what they've ordered so it rounds it up or down to the way they've structured the costing I watch the cook wait for everyone's order to come in before starting to cook. The breakfast took ages and didn't come out together, and half the table had finished their breakfast before toast, and bread and butter came out. Seems like alot of air frying is involved and can't see many local workers having enough spare time to wait this long for a breakfast. Nothing wrong with quality of food and very clean but unfortunately painfully slow and not very organised!!

I have attended three Christmas Dinners here this year, with different friends. The staff and service were excellent each time, the food very good and plenty of it, prices were reasonable. I did find one turkey dinner perfect, another turkey dinner the carrots were hard and undercooked, and another of my turkey dinners both the carrots and brussels were hard and undercooked. But as the rest of the dinners were so good I can forgive them for this.

Very let down by this kebab shop that also trades as manor place. We placed an order via uber eats with a delivery time of 40/60 mins after an hour and a quarter I rang to find they had forgot to make up the order up and couldn’t give me a delivery time so I agreed to collect myself as I explained I’m diabetic and needed to eat. I collected the order no apology and no delivery charge refund. When I got home the portions were tiny and the rice was missing. I rang and was told that they’d run out of rice and forgot to tell me no apology received. Went don’t go here often as it’s not cheap and usually a treat but will never go again or recommend.

Our local tea room closed so we thought we would give this new tea room a try. It is part of a small art gallery. The setting is lovely and we sat outside. The menu was very limited with just one main dish and some cakes. The service was not good, with drinks not turning up and parts of the meal turning up after we had all finished. Hopefully with time the service will improve and there will be more choice. The staff were very polite and were keen to make a success of the business. My wife has been back since for just tea and cake and had a better experience.

Smoky chicken Cajun rice & drink for under a fiver isn’t bad but the wooden fork mixed in rice makes it a bit messy. Still better than a BK. These EG Group services always have rank loos!

Dont know why this Domino’s gets so much hate? Pizza is always really hot when either delivered or collected and the staff are really friendly. If there is ever any issues they always sort you out either refund or replacement.

Horrid bread cold bacon and not proper sausages and the meat was cold. I will never go here again ,worst food i have ever had
