Dreadful service our food was delivered 50 minutes late. The food was cold. My partner and my self ordered burgers. Both of the burgers were burnt. The blue cheese burger had no blue cheese. The Mexican burger had no spice but tortilla crisps in. There was no salad A side order of chicken was chicken which turned out to be cold chicken nuggets. Would not recommend at all!!

Saturday lunchtime - 8 adults and 2 children. Good selection on the menu and everyone impressed with their meals which ranged from liver and bacon with mash etc. Chicken on a skillet and steak with all the trimmings. Was quite a long delay between starters and mains but worth waiting for. Understand this pub is changing hands again soon so let’s hope quality of food is maintained.

Came for here for Sunday Lunch and was really pleased we had. They serve their normal menu and also offer 3 roasts which was great. Personally I would of liked to have seen a nice fish dish as a main course (and not fish and chips) but I had the Chicken Skillet which was really nice and cooked to perfection. The tables are spaced evenly out and you don’t feel like you are on top of each other which I really like.

Visited with family for a Sunday lunch and to celebrate a birthday. The decor was clean and smart. The staff were friendly and the menu was exactly what I would expect from a country pub. I had the haloumi with chilli jam to start and followed that with the pork loin. Food was very good although the gravy was very watery and soaked the plate. I would prefer to have it served separately as I like my gravy quite thick. I had the crumble for dessert but it was huge and I barely made a dent in it. Overall very enjoyable and I would happily eat here again.

Husband's ham, egg and chips - ham was real not plastic, two eggs, but the chips were french fries and would have done justice to KFC. My salad was iceberg lettuce (who uses that for salad other than as a garnish?) with radish, cucumber, three little slices of pepper - but the prawns were nice and boiled potatoes perfectly ok. The cutlery was thin, small, cheap and not very cheerful. Short of staff - the one person was waiting on, serving behind bar, producing bills and didn't stop but he needed help. If this is the pub newly opened and trying hard to impress .....? We won't be going back.

Having heard of the re opening of the Pinkauh Arms decided to drop by last Monday for lunch: out of the way but easy to find.... good parking, small but adequate outdoor area. warm welcome from Becky - the Landlady. My favourite beer on tap 'Doombar'plus a local ale. Menu centring on good 'pub grub rather than fine dining, but am told that they will be having specials each day for pies and fish. Everything home cooked - I had two starters rather than a main, excellently presented and followed with sticky toffee pudding [of which I am a known to eat at every available occasion] to die for. On talking to Becky found out she and the chef used to run a pub in Biggin Hill, love horses, wants to make sure they provide what the locals want, happy to have dogs visit - in fact noticed a dog treat jar on the bar. All in all will certainly be back - a young team eager to make a go of things - in my book that makes for a formula for success.

We chose The Pinkuah Arms as the venue for our wedding because we love this restaurant and the guys that own it. Andy and Alex were absolutely amazing and they catered for everything we needed. We had been going to the Pinkuah Arms for a while and it was actually in the Pub that we set the date and asked straight away if they would be interested in hosting the reception and lucky for us, they agreed.Andy (the amazing Chef and Owner) provided us with an extensive menu out of which we were able to choose 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts to send out with the invites so our guests to choose, naturally this went down extremely well and the food was amazing (as always). We had 40 people during the day and then another 40 that arrived in the evening when an amazing buffet was served, an when I say amazing, it was truly that, as people are still talking about it to date. All the staff where amazing, lead by Alex (Front of House and Owner) who had everything under control and also took on the role of DJ in the evening with a great music selection that went on until the early hours.I have added photos of the wedding and the amazing food that we were served on the day, everything was piping hot and no one had to wait, it was executed to perfection. This place is a hidden Gem and Andy and Alex are always so accommodating and we are so pleased to have found this lovely little Pub that we try and visit as much as possible.

I have visited "The Pinkuah Arms" before but not for some time and was quite pleased when my friends requested we went there for a meal.We were comfortable because we knew the restaurant and the person behind the bar.The table service was even better than previously experienced. The table was laid faultlessly, and it reminded me of a "Silver service" which I assure you is a complement. The menu being a Friday had a full selection of fish but the other items were tantalizingly laid out on the menu. Personally I had a fish cake as a starter and it was a winner. It could have been a main meal. The rest of the starters were equally good.We all went for the fish and chips which was fantastic. Presentation was as faultless as the table was laid. I chose to hold my tongue about the presentation and just say get along there and sample it your self as I can think of very few places to surpass it. The puddings were equally as good and light to follow the great meal.I know my view and strongly recommend you make a visit, then you can make your own mind up. I promise you will not be sorry.

I visited The Pinkuah Arms with a large group of 15, all of whom were eating. We visited on a Thursday night, where a brilliant deal of two courses for around £13 was in place. Everybody was served at the same time, with the food arriving soon after we ordered. With such a big table, you would expect a slight delay, or some slight mishaps with dishes, however, every dish was right, even remembering my Sister's fussy order!! After I had eaten my Starter I already felt that the food had been underpriced, as it was of such a high standard and quality. The main followed suit, with presentation being a key aspect of each dish. Overall, The Service, Quality of Food, Atmosphere and Price cannot be faulted. A truly fantastic place to dine!

Having been here for lunch a few weeks ago, which we really enjoyed, we thought we would return with our son, particularly as we had seen someone have a very impressive and generous looking fish and chips, which is his favourite. Unfortunately his meal was not as impressive, the fish was a lot smaller and dwarfed by the portion of chips, and we feel bad for having bigged up his expectation based on our previous visit. Also my scallops were extremely salty as were the mushrooms accompanying my steak, and the chips were hollow with no texture. The two meals were so different that I asked the very helpful and attentive waiter if they had different chefs on for lunches and dinners. Apparently not, and the chef had said he hadn't done anything differently, it might just be the stock. I said not as it was the scallops and mushrooms, and having gone back to the chef, they did offer to redo it , but by that time my husband and son had practically finished and I had lost interest. What a shame, as we thought we had discovered somewhere really special after our first visit.

Lunch menu was £10 for 2 or £14 for 3 courses. At the price we expected a rather paired back offering but the starter and main course (we didn't have room for a sweet) were substantial, well presented and very tasty. The menu was quite small, approximately 5 choices on each course, and stuck to well tried pub favourites, however, this is only to be expected at the price and we believe such an offering allows the chef to concentrate on making really good meals. Service was good and overall atmosphere convivial.

Transformation is probably too basic a word for the change since our last visit a few years ago. Whilst the exterior is unassuming, we then entered a most welcoming and well finish warm interior.Staff were attentive from the start and we were able to enjoy a round of drinks in the bar whilst our starters were prepared. The dining area is smart and well enough separated from the bar to differentiate, but not isolate.Might as well list the food as it was all prepared and presented to a high standard. All the finesse of modern cuisine 'design' but with substance and generous portions.Seafood,Duck Parfait and Scallops/Black Pudding followed by Tomahawk Steak,Sea Bass, Fish and Chips and Lamb Shank. Only 2 of us were able to sneak in an ice cream dessert as the starters/main were probably more than enough - the diet took a hit but worth the experience.I always speak as we find and couldn't criticise any aspect of our evening apart from the Aspalls not being available . We have found another little gem which delivers good food, hospitality and value. Almost want to keep it a secret! Perhaps a sign at the T-junction would add passing trade? Hope to visit again before too long.

First time visit as we were staying in the area for the weekend. Pinkuah was recommended by two local friends who are regulars. The baked Camembert was a little strange as it was so liquid it was difficult to eat other than with a spoon.. As a non meat eater this is a favourite of mine and have never come across this before. My fish and chips was great. My partners lamb was OK. The problem came because the waitress was clearly very stressed trying to cope with the 3 occupied tables - the 2 of us, a table of 4, one of 6.The table of four was being served their main course one plate at a time so she was running between kitchen and table each time. She apologised many times over the delay with the one dessert we ordered. It finally arrived when our taxi was already waiting outside as by now we were running late. It wasn't worth waiting for to be honest, We requested bill at same time and pointed out that the wine was missing from it. The waitress was initially reluctant to accept the tip because of the delays but we insisted. So what happens on a busy night?

Saturday evening Nice atmosphere , family friendly pub , friendly helpful waitress and the food started off fairly good ( nothing special , Chef) . We had an early table booked on account of the baby in our party, first 2 courses went well and food was ok , by now there were at least 3-4 more tables seated. We ordered deserts, and waited and waited some more, by now the waitress was apologising for the delay ( we could not understand it as the pub/ restaurant was not that busy, so we patiently waited some more ( some 40 minutes had passed) baby getting restless undermining the whole point of the early sitting . Eventually ( after 50 minutes) embarrassed waitress came back to table apparently the 'Chef' was struggling to cope (albeit with the small number of tables) and was "refusing" to prepare what were simple deserts. We had no choice but to leave cheerfully, we were presented with the bill in full, which is where we feel the pub owner / manager could have saved the day by at the very least discounting a round of drinks, but failed to grasp the opportunity. So we left with an impression that maybe on another night if management got its act together the outcome may have been different. Although local ( 5 mins) we will not be going back again though. The Chef should not be allowed to dictate the running of the restaurant / pub.Management needs to be more take charge / assertive.

I've eaten here on 5 other occasions but this evening was horrible. I have never left any restaurant feeling ill but tonight is the first (and last) time. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was small, spongy and almost lost within the deceivingly large amount of part-soggy, excessive amount of batter. The fish was billed as cod but I doubt that most sincerely; a drinker at the bar joked "was the fish frozen?" - he was told to pipe down by the bar person but I suspect he was spot on. The chips were way too thick and the claim is that they are three times cooked - I don't know how they can get chips so badly wrong. To be honest, I have had the same meal before and left similar feedback about the chips, but nothing has changed - perhaps I only have myself to blame. My girlfriend enjoyed her lamb main course but then had a dessert billed as caramelised rice pudding - what arrived was a large bowl of over-the-top-creamy, bright white rice pudding with no caramelisation evident to the eye or to the palate. It was left mostly uneaten and when we went to the bar to settle the bill, we said we were not willing to pay for it. The bar person wasn't receptive to any criticism and argued that it was not a creme brûlée; then said she would go and talk to the chef. Unsurprisingly, when she came back she said that the chef was not happy and for the second time argued that the dessert was right. Apparently, the butter that goes into the pudding was caramelised! We suggested that a change of description might be in order so as to set the correct expectation. We left £40 lighter and I was in a hurry to get home for some stomach relief. We are not in a hurry to repeat this evening however.

This was followed by braised pork belly, chicken Caesar salad and traditional fish and chips. The yummy desserts were homemade cheesecake, warm blueberry bake plus a selection of Italian ice creams. If this has whetted your appetite, then do yourself a favour and seek out this country inn in the pretty village of Pentlow. A lot of time and effort has been spent on refurbishing the pub and restaurant; it is light and bright with a lovely contemporary feel. We thoroughly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

Fantastic food and very friendly staff! Andy, Alex and their staff catered for our wedding this July for 90 guests. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. In fact the majority of people said that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. We already knew this because we have eaten in the restaurant many times! Thanks guys!

A friend wanted to take me out for lunch and she had heard that The Pinuah Arms was good and as we were in the Long Melford area thought we would give it a whirl! It was the best lunch I have ever had in my life - wonderfully presented, cooked to perfection, the landlord was extremely helpful, friendly and chatty! Lovely surroundings tucked away off the main street of Pentlow - we will be back and I am spreading the word! Thank you so much for such a wonderful lunch!

We ate here last Saturday evening and can't remember the last time I had a meal quite like it. The menu is big enough that you should be able to find something you want from it and there is a specials board as well. Between us we had the marinated asparagus and scallops with pork belly for starters followed by lamb shank and rump of lamb - all perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Only one young lady serving but although she was busy she still had time to check everything was ok and offer explanations. My other half was happy as they were serving Adnams behind the bar so I settled for a bottle of prosecco. We finished off with desert then had another drink sitting in the bar while waiting for a taxi. It seemed as if there were some locals there just drinking but the food seems to be the main attraction here and with good reason. We will definitely be revisiting soon :-)

We had a family meal here. All the meals were very well cooked and presented. The chef is very talented! There is a good selection of ales but no real ciders are available. The location is incredibly remote, which adds to the delight of finding it!

We looked forward to our meal at 'The Pinkers', a pub I have known for 55 years but not in this guise. Fantastic food and service, a little expensive for where and what it is, but so tasteful food, it is worth it"!! Water on tables may be helpful to none drinkers, and a few more veg. otherwise a surperb meal.A little light on staff, but only a minor complaint.

Have dined or lunched here a few times. First the downside; it would be better if there was a child friendly option on Sunday lunchtime, could have been a bit more flexible. The upside; nice country pub, hidden away. Food is pretty good, sorry not fantastic.Nice atmosphere, very popular , nice and relaxed. It would be excellent if they paid just a little bit attention to detail.Having said that, the staff are very nice, just seems to be a bit impersonal.Don't let this put you off though

Dinned here on a mid week evening. Place was busy. Staff were very attentive and service was first class. Menu choice was also first class and I found it difficult to choose, would have loved to try it all. We all really enjoyed our meal, it was way above pub grub and prices were very reasonable. I will certainly return and have recommended it to my friends.

Easy to find using Satnav with the Postcode.Lunch for four midweek. Old beams, characterful dining room, lots of elbow room.Lovely warm welcome, attentive service throughout, a very pleasing experience.Fish & chips and belly pork main courses were very filling, tasty and presented attractively. The ploughmans was presented in a very attractive manner with pork pie, ham and cheese served with several relishes and pickles and warmed crusty bread. The smoked haddock portion was more a childs portion than an adults, but this had only recently been introduced onto the menu, and it should properly be described as a "light" lunch menu item. This may change in future. The vegetables were slightly more crunchy than "al dente", so it may be that one could ask for the vegetables to be cooked as you like them. Only two in our foursome could manage desert, again tasty and attractively presented. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in a lovely setting with friendly attentive service. We would gladly recommend this establishment and would go again ourselves. :)

We had lunch here to celebrate a birthday and it was a great choice tucked away in a lovely little village this is a hidden gem. The food was lovely, wine list good, beers local and also here welcoming. Very nice to see a dog friendly place as well with several well behaved dogs enjoying being out on the social scene.

Quite nondescript from the outside, lovely on the inside! Friendly, helpful waitress and generous food portions. The children's portion of fish and chips are man sized! The waitress wrapped the leftover fish goujons for us, so our son could have them at home. Our fish was large, but had been double dipped so batter was a bit thick. Lovely coffee. All reasonably priced too.

Went week before last and returned tonight with friends . Two rump steak meals for £25 is decent value for money. However knowing a rump would not be enough for one of the party we pre ordered a 16oz t bone . Everything we had was good, service friendly and efficient. Bill for for including a couple of pints, a bottle of wine, soft drinks, 3 desserts and coffee was £125. Very good value for the amount and quality of food. If you want a steak different to the rump, providing you pre order , and pay a bit extra, they are very accommodating.

We came here today to celebrate my birthday with 5 others, The lunch time session was started very well with our welcome and a cracking pint of Timothy Taylor we all had a 3 course lunch from the menu and the starters did not dissapoint with a tomatoe and roasted red pepper soup of the day, prawn and crayfish salad and a duck confit (a little weird as did not come with toast, but bread was offered) all arrived in a timely manner before the main courses which we chose the lamb shank, pork shank, pan fried salmon and the chicken supreme (again very different as never seen a supreme as a whole chicken piece with gravy not small pieces in a white sauce that the diners had had before) and the rare spotted pig sausage and mash which everyone enjoyed thouroughly and all plates were returned clean. We all had a dessert which for me I had to really look to find something I wanted in honesty but the desserts were all nice which included cheesecake, trio of ice cream and creme brule was had by us.the service was very attentive but not over the top. thank-you for a nice meal and even though I hadn't been in this pub for 20 years I am sure I won't leave it that long to visit again.

our first visit to the pinkuah arms,we were the only diners in the restaurant, did not start to well as we ordered baked camembert to start then told they had sold out,we also asked for the lamb main course to be told they were also sold out,so we chose muscles and duck parcels to start, and both opted for the steak both the starters and main course were excellent, and our waitress could not have been more pleasant we did not have a sweet but were treated to some home made chocolates, made by the chef on a happy birthday decorated plate. the beer and wine, food and friendly service make this a pub to recommend.

The Pinkuah Arms deserves excellent reviews and I've been very remiss in recent months. We've enjoyed a number of superb lunches with friends, including 15 of us for my husband's birthday at the end of December. The portions are generous, and the food is beautifully served. The set-lunch price is spot-on. The staff couldn't be nicer, and we have always founds a warm welcome. The decor is very pleasing, and strikes a good balance with the beamed interior. A very good selection of ales are usually available, but I'm always very happy when the Timothy Taylor's has run out, as my husband then drives and I get to have a glass or three of the lovely Sauvignon Blanc!Well Done, Pinkuah Arms. We wish you every success, and will visit as often as we can and give you the good reviews you deserve.

Without doubt one of the finest meals we have had. Each course was perfection. The chef is to be commended for his skills. This pub is hidden away in the countryside but well worth seeking out. The beers, wines and friendly service all combine to make this gem a 'must visit'.I'm not sure that you could better this venue.

On arriving 20mins late at the pinkuah arms we were greeted by a very unfriendly waitress who said we were to late to dine! So you can imagine how we felt After taking the trouble to organise a night out for me and my husband and my brother and his wife! I can understand being late puts the chef and the whole team out but we had rung Ahead to say we were running late and there was no question of not being served otherwise we wouldn't have wasted the £50 and the 20min journey to get to the venue! We explained this to the manager who then proceeded to offer us a main meal and the same price which I think is outrageous so either the kitchen is closed or it isn't ?Why the same price ?Least give us the wine and the dessert?I felt like it was about the money! Finally they then decided to give out the free oysters at the bar which was our starter! Talk about rub out noses In it!

Waited when arrived and no one came to us. We had to go to a staff member to say we have a table booked!!! Ordered food at bar again only to wait as only one staff member behind bar. Waited then again 45 mins for food and then had to chase it up as the table next to us came in after and got food before us. No apology for waiting and chasing food
