Took an hour for food to arrive. Paper was dripping wet which perfectly reflected the sad state of my dinner. At least I got a good jaw workout trying to eat my depressing chips.

Fish burger was dry and mostly potatoes as fish cake not actual fish in batter . Totally dissatisfying not worth the money .

Decent chippy, good crispy chips and nicely battered sausage.

The worst savaloy I have ever tasted. It was so dry it was rock hard. A good sized portion of chips but horrendous savaloy.

Order a kebab from here for the first time tonight and it was awful. Not only did we have to make it ourselves as all the components were separate but the food was freezing cold in the 2 minute walk that it took to get it home. The meat was rubbery and dry and just in generally not a nice kebabs. We will never be ordering from here again!

My food was delivered and received cheese chips with big black hair! , my chicken Shish and pita stick was soggy and wet meaning it stuck to the paper. When I called the restaurant, the staff and boss was so rude & didn’t want to replace my food and no refund!

We have ordered from here in the past, but today was the final straw. Usually we ignore things like the stupidly high prices (£4.25 for chips) or the smaller portion size than other local establishments... but today it cannot be ignored. We placed a £62 order through Just Eat, and 30 minutes after the scheduled delivery time we called to find out where the food was. The restaurant HADNT EVEN PREPARED THE ORDER. They claim to have tried to call to confirm the order as it was "so large" and we wanted to pay by cash. So yeah... food is good, but overpriced and small. Oh and be careful not to order too much, because they might just not bother. Won't be ordering from here, ever again.

Whilst these guys do a very nice fish and chips, confusingly, they really do make the best kebabs in Braintree. Super friendly, honest service and great food. Brilliant!

ordered a kebab. what I received was not great, they sent me out new one. it looked better but the meat is terrible. they are both in the bin. If you cant make the stuff on your menu TAKE IT OFF Cheap Kebab meat.

Ordered take away on Monday and payment was taken, after about an hour i phnoed to find out they do not open on Mondays even though their listing say they are.. Today is Thursday and still having problems getting my payment back, full of promises but no action.. The quality of their food is very good but aftersales is terrible..

Ordered online - came when predicted Food was hot - ordered medium cod which was a decent size (not has big has some chippies but decent enough) Chips were ok, but they seem to be ones that were cooked earlier than heated up, loads of crispy bits, but decent enough portion Had battered mushrooms, which compared with some local chippies were tasty, the oil didnt seem like it was overused stuff

Ordered meal deal for 2people. Delivered on time,friendly staff when ordered. Fish was Perfectly cooked and so were the battered mushrooms.Everything was piping hot too.!! Good portion sizes,cannot fault at all,well done Manor Plaice!!

Delivery was late by half and hour. Chicken burger, chips, curry sauce and fish was all cold and over cooked also no salad or sauce in the burger. Won't order again

Have had numerous home deliveries over the last 3 years and they rarely disappoint. Good quality fish and chips and prompt delivery. Yes, you might need to pop your order in the oven for a couple of minutes just to boost the temperature, but that's all part and parcel of a delivery service. Portion size can range from 'more than adequate' to 'huge'. A good advantage is that they are open on a Monday. Ordering is easy online and you can put in special requests if you like. On the odd occasion I have needed to call them after placing my order, I've always been greeted with good customer service.

I’ve collected food from here many times and must say it is one of the best in the area, unfortunately we had a delivery last night which was poor and will be unlikely to order again. If you want food from here I recommend going in, there is no comparison, it seemed the standard had completely dropped.

Never been here before, stopped just to buy chips, have to say they were delicious, some of the best we had, if we lived nearer they would be our regular chippy, that's for sure!

I usually go in and buy my fish and chips at least once a week which Is reasonably priced and usually of good quality, on this occasion I got a delivery, the food come quickly but unfortunately it was Luke warm. I phoned manor of plaice to express my concerns and I did not get a welcomed response to my enquiry, the least I was expecting was maybe an apology but this was far from the outcome. My issue with the food is that it was not even close to hot and the lack of customer care I received on phoning manor of plaice. Manor of plaice you have just lost a regular customer due to the lack of interest and concern of my delivery.

Food is always prepared quickly and with a smile- never found an issue with the food and it always stays warm long enough for the journey home
