Smoky chicken Cajun rice & drink for under a fiver isn’t bad but the wooden fork mixed in rice makes it a bit messy. Still better than a BK. These EG Group services always have rank loos!

Absolutely delicious 'take away' we are never disappointed. Great flavours and lovely and hot and delivered on time. Definitely recommend China Vilage, we will be ordering again.

Terrible experience from start to finish. Our food didn’t turn up, so we called to check on it and were told it had already been delivered. We assured them that we were still waiting and hungry, but they insisted otherwise. Eventually, they agreed to redeliver it. When the driver finally arrived, she seemed confused, claiming she’d already given us our order but didn’t recognize us at all. Very odd. To make matters worse, when we called to confirm the food had now been received, the man at the shop was incredibly rude, implying that we were just trying to get free food. It was clear the delivery driver made an error, but instead of taking responsibility, we were made out to be liars—an absolutely unacceptable way to treat a customer. As if that wasn’t enough, they even got our order wrong and sent the incorrect rice. The driver came back quickly to correct it, looking guilty and uncomfortable. After finishing our meal, I decided to visit the shop in person to address the situation with the rude staff member. Suddenly, their story changed: first, they claimed the food was given to my neighbor (who I know was out at the time), and then they switched to saying it was handed to someone in my alleyway. I even showed them camera footage proving no delivery was made to my house, and only then did they stop with the excuses. If you make a mistake, own up to it. Don’t accuse your customers of lying. We won’t be ordering from Water Lily Chinese again, which is a shame because we were regular customers. But after this disgraceful treatment, we’re done.

My husband and I went to collect our order tonight (Large cod + X2 battered sausages and Large chips with mushy peas) The woman behind the counter (Older disheveled looking one) who seems to be there each time we collect our food and each time is just absolutely awful! Not only to us but after customers. The woman kept loudly complaining for all to hear how understaffed she is and that she's on her own. When handing my husband our order and upon inspection he requested that the chips be cooked for a little longer/double cooked as put on the 'Special requests' section when ordering online as he noticed that they were not what was asked and instead looked soggy and undercooked. The woman rudely shouted in front of everyone 'Its not my problem it's the managers fault' my husband then replied he is happy to wait and she tutted and replied 'Theres no staffing, you're going to have to wait ages because there is no space to put anymore on' When my husband acknowledged this and proceeded to wait the woman continued to mutter and swear under her breath. Two mins later a poor man came in and politely asked 'Can I make an order please' to which she replied to him 'Well no not really'. Anyway the food was fine, service yet again was terrible I will not be spending my hard earned money here again. Someone please sack this woman for goodness sake or at least put her on a training course.
