The best restaurants in Braintree East of England

Ordered at 17:40, estimated delivery 18:15-18:45. Called at 19:03 and was told it was on its way and would be with us soon. 19:10 lodged with Just Eat that it hadn’t been delivered and message received with updated time of 19:30. 19:47-19:51 called and no answer. Food arrived at 21:05 for only 4 things on order. Over 3 hours wait time. Refund declined. Disgraceful service

Disappointed. Visited with my disabled daughter who is in a wheelchair and my son. Asked if there was disabled access as the front has a large step but was told they did have a ramp but it didn't fit. No further suggestions was given (apart from go to a different venue) so I had to carry my daughter in then get her wheelchair. Our order took 45 mins and a question to the waitress about where is was, for it to arrive. There were dogs barking at eachother across the cafe while people are trying to eat. We ordered a bacon sandwich which was fine. Pot of tea and blackcurrant was fine too. Ordered a bottled water but was given a glass of tap water instead. Ordered 2 veggie all day breakfasts, one plate had half an egg in it where the burnt bits had been cut off, and the other plate had an egg which was uncooked in places. The sausages on both plates had been cut in half lengthwise to fill the plate and appear like there was more food than there was. There was minimal beans and mushrooms. I complained about the eggs and was offered another egg but as we had been waiting 45 mins already, I asked for money off instead. I was offered half price which I agreed too considering the disappointing experience so far. When the plates were cleared, I was then told I was only being offered £2 off instead as the rest of the breakfast had been eaten. I had made it clear that the egg was the issue before being offered half the money off. Why then change your mind after the rest was eaten???? I was then told 45 min wait was due to being a busy Saturday. I didn't consider 2 other tables of people it to be particularly busy when we arrived, nor should there be just one person doing all the cooking if it is too much work. I told the owner I would be writing a review. I doubt we will be returning. EDIT: This was originally a 2 star review. 1 star droped due to lack of disabled facilities. 1 star dropped due to lengthy waiting time. 1 star dropped due to poor quality food. Unfortunately I have now had to drop a further star due to the rudeness of the owner. On paying, I was given a £7 bill for each breakfast which were originally £10 each (possibly because I had mentioned the review) and full price for the rest of the food and drink. I accepted and intended to leave. Unfortunately the owner and all the waitresses insisted on reading my review before I was able to leave which the owner was very rude about. Rather than taking constructive criticism which would in the long run inhance her business in a positive way, she basically fronted me about every point I made and asked me why people like me want to ruin small businesses. After telling her I wasn't arguing with her and she was ruining my childrens day, she openly said it was not her that was ruining it! Extremely rude lady who needs to work on both her customer service and cooking ability.

Absolutely terrible food!!! 0 stars 🌟 2 orders were wrong. Orderd Singapore rice noodles and was given rice. Mongolian duck was given pork in plumb sauce. Called the restaurant to complain and they said they will send the right dishes they came back and sent the same again. Phoned again to ask for a refund of the 2 dishes in which they was only going to give me £10.00 the Mongolian duck was £11.80 on its own!! They then said they will refund £15.00!!! Which is a joke. Will NEVER EVER order from this place again.

I ordered a crispy prawn balls and Ive explained it to them what it is?? They said ok I know what you mean then when I collected the food it is skinless prawn on a blunt sweet sour sauce my god 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣 this place is a joke dont order here youll be wasting your money

What the hell is this milkshake that has been delivered to me? This is not a milkshake this is chocolate foaming shit in a cup. Disgusting

The portions are absolutely abysmal considering the price. Amazing how that we received more sachets of salt and vinegar than we did chips. Extremely overpriced and would recommend that they are avoided. The drinks were forgotten. I have used numerous times a while ago and in all the times I have ordered they have always forgotten part of the order. Would advise ordering elsewhere!

Went in for breakfast with my son and his wife on the 17th of January this year we ordered three breakfasts with toast two teas and one soft drink Came to over £47 Food was average Which is a shame when my wife was alive we used to go regularly to this cafe food was Always lovely and reasonably priced suffice to say, we won’t be returning

Had Fish and Chips for lunch , was really disappointed the meal was cooked ok but I have never had such a small portion of fish in my life . My son in law said I have seen more fish in a fish finger and he was right . I was hungury and eat the meal hoping that should the waiter enquire if everything was ok I could show him my concern . He never showed up , when he came to collect the plate I told him I never complain but in this case was very disappointed with the fish portion size . He said he would tell the kitchen staff and that was that we left . Just a warning avoid food at this pub .

Ordered the double melt classic meal. Was quite quiet and coming up toward closing, but no excuse for serving a lukewarm meal. Took it back and they cooled a fresh hot one. Strangely enough the BK at Octagon park don't serve the double melt

This store is absolutely disgraceful…the customer service for this store is very very very shocking! The manager SHAM lied and said a refund would be there within 2 hours 2 days ago. I then get an email at 4:20pm stating it will be within 3-5 days. Lied to get me off the phone and then when I called and had enough of their bull I stated I wanted my money dropped to my house and was met with laughter and also stated he didn’t say that! Why the hell would I be calling?!!! Kept being put the phone down on and I continued to call u til they answer and then they put the phone down!!!!! Fuming ain’t the word! Someone needs to sort this store out! Never will I order again!!!!!!!!!
