Lovely little tearoom in the village Long Melford, very warm welcome and service was excellent, tea was loose leaf and cake was lovely, with generous portion. Well worth a visit

Bacon sandwich with all the trimmings - washed down with a pot of tea. Just the job. Comfortable surroundings, on street parking right outside.

What a lovely little place, neat and clean, staff were lovely. The best bit was a slice of awesome cake and a cup of coffee. Definitely worth a visit and cake not to be missed

From the first this is a memorable experience, from the warm welcome to the dishes themselves. The cooking is classic, reinvented English; The menu a temptation. You want to try everything on it, from the shrimp tempura to the tender duck breast; This is geared to foodies. My cooked foie gras on black pudding with a rich jus, simply burst with flavour. And the turbot! Just cooked, with a lobster sauce ; delicious. My wife’s duck with redcurrant sauce was succulent and tender. A rice pudding with deconstructed Blackwell pudding on raspberry jus was full of flavour, yet not too rich. This is a chef with a magic touch, who is attuned to his clientele.

The service and food was absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us, and we will definitely go back. The place was very clean and the food was very reasonably priced

Had a fabulous afternoon Tea today! The ladies were so friendly and tentative, the food was incredible and in such abundance! Left feeling very full of delicious treats! Definitely will be returning in the new year!

Visited one evening during a Post Christmas stay in Long Melford. Surprised at how buzzy and welcoming the restaurant was. Paneer Shaslik and Cauliflower Bhaji were the best!!!

Always great service in this little bakery, fantastic cakes and bread made on the premises . Definitely recommend

Pretty good food, good portions, deals for lunch include two main meals and two drinks for £27.50. Lovely historic venue. My sister had an email inviting her for her birthday to a free drink and dessert to be used within less than two weeks. Neither could be used. Apparently the hotel is no longer managed by Greene King and no one has bothered to stop the emails going out. Gary the manager did honor the free dessert. It is a lovely place to visit. Can't really comment on the rooms but forced to rate in Google. Service was ok, primarily saying 'ok' as the bar guy didn't explain why the dessert QR code wouldn't work. Didn't make any effort to help us with it. Had to ask for the manager.

Absolutely awfull food apart from the onion bahjis. Peshwari nan bread was stodgy and no flavour at all of coconut. The lamb tikka bhuna was in a completely tasteless sauce no depth or flavour. Motor paneer was a milky watery sauce. Had to throw it all in the bin. When I called to complain the 'manager' was patronising asked me why" I hadnt gone to the Indian down the road".!!! I told him they don't do delivery and I was ill in bed. I mentioned I knew about Indian cooking as am well travelled and know a lot about spices he then called me a chef and refused a refund. I was not rude to him at all and he was very defensive and argumentative. I don't know how on earth he can call himself a manager with the poor customer service skills he thinks he has which I have not experienced for years and needs to go on a managerial course or go to work at Macdonalds where no doubt he will be more appreciated.

Came today for a birthday/Mother’s Day treat, the service was excellent, was well looked after, staff were very polite and accommodating, my meal was 100 per cent delicious, will return in the future , highly recommend!

Very friendly staff who were very accommodating when 12 of us visited! Lots of cakes and drinks to choose from.

Ordered large cod with large chips, only a handful of awful chips, couldn't eat them. Cod was good. It seems they are going down hill, the chips are getting worse every time we visit.

I stayed here Saturday night, room was ok but mattress was uncomfortable, shower fitting was really stiff and water flow was poor.. had a meal in the restaurant at night- salmon with mash & green beans, salmon overcooked & mash underwhelming! The dining room has no vibe & waiting staff no banter not through lack of trying, maybe some music would help the atmosphere! The saving grace was the breakfast in the morning, very good..hence 2 stars ..

The food was brilliant, we had a varied choice, each of us choosing an item we thoroughly enjoyed. Cannot fault the food. Sadly we felt let down by the volume of a few of the staff. Not only in voice but when clearing tables, the cacophony of voice, plates and cutlery is why I can only give 3 stars. Not all the staff were loud, just 2.
